Bob Newby wakes up, with a gasp, clutching at his chest, desperately relieved to feel his heart thudding frantically under his fingers. He can still feel those teeth, tearing -

But there's not so much as a scratch on him. And here he is. Home. Safe. In his own bed.

The radio news announcer says it's Halloween.

It takes entirely too long for the feeling of déjà vu to start to set in. And by then, it’s already too late.

...

Bob Newby dies. And then wakes up on the morning of October 31st, 1984. Rinse and repeat.

So far, his attempts to break this strange and terrible cycle have all failed. But if there's one thing he's learning through its seemingly endless loops, it's that he doesn't have to face the strange and terrible alone.

Behold, my magnum opus as the self-proclaimed captain of the good dinghy Joyce/Bob/Hopper, finally released into the wild! It's the fic formerly known as 'groundhog day, except it's halloween and every time bob newby dies it gets faster'!

Thinkin about things this lovely Friday noon and like.

I absolutely love how everyone I see here has stylistic and aesthetic choices that they deliberately and consistently make when they're designing or playing their characters. Things that pop out to me when I'm scrolling where I can know whose work I'm looking at without referencing the icon or blog name. It's a downright inspiration scrolling my dash and seeing y'all's finely curated characters ❤️
