Hello there, love ♡ I do recall us talking about this~

My take on a recovery AU is actually woven into the springboard for my happily ever after AU, which eventuates in the oc children I designed for them.

Post Griffith's rescue, the band remains on the move, laying low from Midland. They use up what elf dust they have left soothing Griffith's injuries, which helps but can not recover old healed wounds. They eventually run into Puck's carriage somewhere along the road where bandits have given them some trouble. Guts and Co help (mostly to get the robbers out of the way of their forward momentum) and end up rescuing Puck. He is able to repay them with a bit more elf dust for Griffith, but he also can't help much beyond surface wounds. Luckily, he mentions that perhaps the king on his home island could help Griffith recover even more and offers to lead them there if they let him stay safe and ride along. It's worth a shot.

Knowing that they can't possibly drag the entire band along with them, they break into two groups. The Griffith escort team: Guts, Casca, Judeau, and Pippin as Griffith’s protectors and caretakers. And the Band of the Hawk, now nameless for self-protection, under the command of Corkus (he's only too happy to be the man for the job) and Rickert to keep Corkus in line. They are going to continue toward the border, keeping a low profile as the king of Midland's vendetta against the Hawk remains unperturbed.

Guts' squad make way for the coast. The journey takes far longer than they'd hoped. Griffith’s condition, Casca's eventual condition (which they were not planning for despite Casca having a sneaking suspicion. She put off worrying about it for weeks until it wasn't deniable anymore) and being men on the run, not helping. But they do meet helpful people along the way. Casca offers to stay behind, which Judeau agrees with and offers to stay with her, but Guts is torn. Griffith refuses leaving her behind, opting to rest in place with her if they can find somewhere safe for the upcoming months. To him, he cares too much about Guts to risk his heart if they leave her and something should happen. Clearly, something between the two occurred, and no matter Griffith's complicated feelings on it, he wasn't going to lose them over it. Not when Guts willingly came back to him. Casca was precious to him, as well. He had long looked after her wellbeing, abandoning her to childbirth was unconscionable.

Griffith's recovery arc on Elfhelm and his eventual return to the mainland is something I want to share eventually in art + fic form, so I will leave this summary here ♡ Thank you for the interest, love. I know this wasn't super shippy for GriffGutsCa, but the early portions of this AU are focused a lot on Griffith’s recovery and slow burn. I do have some cute images in mind, like bath time shenanigans or piggyback rides for Griff on Guts ♡ those will probably get drawn eventually as well ^ ^;

Fantiction silliness that just returned to my empty brain~

I was sitting here jotting down ideas for GriffCas smut, and I'm like, "Ah, I'm gonna have to do some digging to make the plot fit into canon timeline at least a little." And then I think, "Well, now I've gotta find canon evidence/moments to tie this together." And it took me embarrassingly long to remember that you can just write porn sans plot XD Like if I wanna write them fucking, I just... can?

I used to read porn without plot all the time, and for some reason, it didn't occur to me to do it myself. So yeah, that was my brain melt for the day. I'm gonna just write Griff and Casca fuckin and I'm not gonna even bother writing a plot because I don't have any clue what it would have been anyway lol who needs settings or story? (Probably most, but hey, I'm not here to impress XD)
