NTA likely to conduct CET of DAVV - Times of India

INDORE: National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to conduct computer-based Common Entrance Test (CET) of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) as the agency has fixed a meeting with the varsity officials to discuss the plan and pattern of the test.

On Monday, the agency informed the varsity that a meeting has been scheduled on March 4 in Delhi to discuss the entrance test.

The varsity had been constantly talking to the agency and NTA was waiting for thumbs up from Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

“We are 99% certain that the agency has got the permission from the ministry as they have fixed the meeting to discuss about the entrance test which is expected to be conducted latest by second week of June,” DAVV spokesperson Dr Chandan Gupta told TOI.

The number of students appearing for the examination, exam dates and question paper will be the major topics of discussion, he added.

On the basis of discussions with the heads of various University Teaching Department (UTD) in the meeting, the varsity has prepared a rough draft of the report of CET to present during the meeting.

Every year 17000-18000 students appear for the entrance test, however, this year DAVV is expecting a hike in the number as it has become the first university of Madhya Pradesh to get an A+ grade in National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The meeting will be attended by the coordinators of CET including B K Tripathi, Dr A K Singh, and Pratosh Bansal is likely to go as well.

The chairman of CET, Dr K L Ahuja might not go for the meeting due to some national conference.

This year, DAVV has separated the media courses in group E which is a newly formed group. The varsity will have to decide the logistics of conducting the exam as well.

Work experience: Most accredited MBA programs will require candidates to have at least two or three years of post-degree, full-time work experience. However, many applicants have more work experience than the bare minimum.

Undergraduate performance: Beyond work experience and standardized test scores, business schools will also examine your undergraduate GPA and other indicators, to see evidence of how well you can do in an academic setting. Some MBA programs will be looking for particular types of undergraduate degrees: some require four-year degrees, for instance.

The interview: After reviewing your application, most business schools will also require at least one interview to be admitted into an MBA program. These generally happen in-person, although some business schools will conduct these using the telephone or videoconferencing.
