This Friday-Sunday (July 20th-22nd) at the Carolina Theatre of Durham, it’s the inaugural MysteryRealm Film Festival!
WHAT IS MYSTERYREALM?
Unlike horror movies, Mystery films mainly focus on solving a crime or a puzzle, generally revolving around a murder.  You'll be presented with a series of likely suspects, some of whom are "red herrings," and attempt to solve the puzzle alongside some of cinema's most famed policemen, private detectives, and amateur sleuths!  Can you put an end to the villainy?  For this inaugural edition of our newest series, we've assembled a collection from Agatha Christie to Alfred Hitchcock that includes whodunnits (Witness for the Prosecution), psychological thrillers (Seven, Silence of the Lambs), spoofs (Top Secret!, Murder by Death), Italian Giallos (The Bird with the Crystal Plumage) and even some classic noir (The Third Man).  So get ready to unravel the crime, piece together the clues, and track down a criminal.  Welcome to MysteryRealm.
Featured films include:
Dario Argento’s The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (1970)
Jonathan Lynn’s Clue (1985)
Gerd Oswalkd’s Crime of Passion (1957)
David Lynch’s Lost Highway (1997)
Coen Brothers’ Miller’s Crossing (1990)
Neil Simon’s Murder by Death (1976)
Jean-Jacques Arnaud’s The Name of the Rose (1986)
Alfred Hitchcock’s Rebecca (1940)
David Fincher’s Seven (1995)
Jonathan Demme’s The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Carol Reed’s The Third Man (1949)
The Zucker Brothers’ Top Secret! (1984)
Billy Wilder’s Witness for the Prosecution (1957)
Tickets are $9.50 and are on sale now.  You can also get a 10-pass for $80.
