Tart de ffruyte
Casting about for something to cook at Dun in Mara's January Arts & Sciences Day (because one should never pass up a chance to experiment on an audience, I feel), I found a recipe from Harleian MS. 4016 (an English cookery book from about 1450). It goes: Tart de ffruyte. Take figges, and seth hem in wyne, and grinde hem smale, And take hem vppe into a vessell; And take pouder peper, Canell, Clowes, Maces, pouder ginger, pynes, grete reysouns of couraunce, saffroñ, and salte, and cast thereto; and ĂŸeñ make faire lowe coffyns, and couche ĂŸis stuff there-iñ, and plonte pynes aboue; and kut dates and fressh salmoñ in faire peces, or elles fressh eles, and parboyle hem a litull in wyne, and couche thereoñ; And couche the coffyns faire with ĂŸe same paaste, and endore the coffyñ withoute with saffron & almond mylke; and set hem in ĂŸe oveñ and lete bake.
So the overall gist here is a pie of figs and raisins, salmon (or eel) and dates, pre-cooked in wine, with a layer of pine nuts, and flavoured with a set of sweet spices. The combination of fish, fruit and pine nuts was unusual enough that I couldn't quite guess at what it would be like (I'm usually good at this).
I cooked down about 600g of dried figs in half a bottle of white wine, and mashed them into not-quite-a-paste, along with the spices (black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, mace, and ginger and salt). I left out the pine nuts from that mix, since I'd be putting in more on top, and those things are _expensive_, and saffron, since it'd almost certainly be drowned out by the other spices, and I don't care about the colour there.
That went into a (bought) pastry case, and then the layer of pine nuts on top (after some debated, untoasted), and salmon and dates (poached in the other half of the bottle of white wine) on top of that. The salmon flakes nicely so that it's almost spreadable, the dates not so much. That got capped off with a pastry crust, which I glazed with milk (not having almond milk to hand, and again not being bothered about the saffron colour). The whole thing got a little over half an hour in the oven at 200C. It came out of the oven coherent, and not overflowing anywhere, which is frankly unusual in my pies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was fine. The tastes didn't integrate worth speaking of; it was fish alongside fruit, and the pine nuts kind-of vanished (I might toast them next time). Thinking about it, it needs something else to bring it together, and I reckon a sauce to apply over the whole lot is the way to go. What my palate wants with it is a sharp fruit sauce - raspberry, say - but the only raspberry sauce I can find around the same period is German, and noted by foreigners there as being unusual (thank you, Maestro Giano).
It is slightly more coherent, taste-wise, when re-heated, but applying grated cheddar cheese or a modern chutney-ish relish (Ballymaloe) was definitely the thing to make it work properly.
A few people at the A&S Day had suggestions - lemon, a white-ish sauce, probably not garlic considering the fruit - and I poked around a bit in godecookery.com to see what I could find. There were a couple of possibilities - a walnut and garlic sauce, a ginger and mustard (from the same manuscript, even) suggested for roast heron, a Lumbard mustard from the Forme of Cury, and slightly more exotically, a blackberry sauce from Martino.
However, there's a recipe for "breney" in the the Noble Boke off Cookery, which has a sauce: "put wyne in a pot and clarified hony saunders canelle peper clowes maces pynes dates mynced raissins of corans put ther to vinegar and sett it on the fyer. and let it boile then sethe fegges in wyne grind them and draw them through a strener and cast ther to and let them boile to gedur" - and that has basically all the same ingredients, so would work perfectly as a sauce for this pie. So next time (possibly with eels, for variety, if I can get hold of them), I'll try that. (There are two different versions of the breney in Two Fifteenth Century Cookery-Books, too.)

ARTG 310 - What is an Art Director?
Throughout my research into defining Art Director, the word that kept popping out at me was strategy. It is an Art Director's duty to analyze a design problem and strategize a creative solution. They are the foundation of a strong design. Art Directors are then responsible for conveying their solution in a clear and precise way. It is imperative that the direction they want the design to go in is mapped out and explained so that the designer can make that a reality. If the foundation is chunky and scattered, the design will likely crumble. They lead designers through the ideation stage and set the parameters for the designers to create within.
Inspiration (MYOM)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I chose MYOM (Make Your Own Mylk) as my inspiration. I was immediately drawn to this design simply because it aligns very much with my own personal style! The bubble letters and vibrant blue caught my attention right away. After reading into the project further, I was even more intrigued by the mission behind it and the clever ways the team was able to incorporate the guiding principles into the design. The way that the letters compress and stretch are a direct representation of the texture of the packaging. The typography is milk coloured and drippy looking. They further incorporate the compressed look into the cheeky squished milk trucks, cartons, and recycling bins. This design also caused me to pause and reflect on my usage of milk alternative products and how much waste is produced every time I finish a tetra-pack. It's exciting to see more and more sustainable package designs being developed!
I also have to include an honourable mention of my second choice because it's also so great! (Figma)
Guiding Principles
The guiding principles behind this product are:
Compact - small package with a big impact
Expansive - a new product that will revolutionize the "mylk" industry
Transformative - changes the way milk alternatives are consumed

My mom has no clue! And that’s just so funny to me, but it’s interesting nonetheless. Though, maybe we should. It’d be nice to know!
Right?? It was so odd to find a box of almond croissants in the kitchen! Like, did I send out radio waves that she picked up on??? Thing is, I’m pretty sure that it said “almond paste” on it, but then again, it’s possible that it was a misunderstanding.
Oh! And, guess what!? The Lord hath blessed me greatly, for it turns out that I CAN buy shelled chestnuts nearby!! 🎊
We just weren’t able to locate them before! Admittedly, they weren’t as good as when they’re freshly roasted, but still yummy! This has really made my day! 😁
Oh, I just looked calissons up! They’re cute! Also, melon candies? 👀 I am listening. Might there be tangerine ones?
Ooo. That sounds rough. I’ve actually been on an intermediate keto diet for a while myself & it’s been working
Until autumn when the holidays start coming around. Then, I really may as well not even try it until Christmas ends. 😅
Though, if you prefer no gluten, then I’d suggest a peach cobbler with homemade vanilla Bluebell ice cream or, barring Bluebell, you can choose most any kind of really good vanilla ice cream or gelato or frozen yogurt. Just make sure it’s good.
The cobbler’s also fairly easy to make gluten free by switching out the flour for the necessary alternative. Though, you gotta make sure that the filling is thick enough or you end up with it too runny & the topping falls apart. Other than that, you can also swap out the fruit for almost any kind as it’s like a less pretty pie or tart. While it might not be something you can have often, it’s also just a really good treat when you can.
And, omgosh it’s a yule log! But with chestnuts!! So cute! I just saw one where it had little German meringue mushrooms on it! It was adorable! X3
Regarding not needing my Zora to be a 1 to 1 French analogue; fantastic point! I forgot that I don’t need to obsess so much on these sorts of details! Thank you for the reminder!
Though, & I wonder if you’d agree with an idea I had? I’ve had it in my head that young Zoran chefs will often travel to Kakariko in order to learn the art of sushi-making, but also fermenting & knifework. As that’s something that very much feels natural to the Zora. I mean, their teeth would certainly suggest as such. So, I felt like it’d be interesting to explore a hypothetical situation where those 2 cultures influenced each other?
In fact, I recently came up with a Zoran oc of my own, which’ll be a first! And I’m having him do just that!
That’s why I call it “cheaze.” But no worries, the vegan stuff is more of a Mogma thing & it was only due to necessity
Not a lot of dairy-producers underground
At least not any non-sapient ones, that is.
Anyway, yeah, the closest that the Zora tend to come to vegan alternatives is palm mylk.
Oh! You don’t know what you’ve just done! Unfortunately, apples are gonna be more of a Mabe & Ordon thing, BUT I had just been thinking of another possibility while reading it over, when I saw that pear sorbet was also used! Because I think that I can use this idea to expand on some Zora lore & even make a brand new Zoran holiday! đŸ€©
Perhaps, for a long time, it had been the duty of the Sages of Water, but there are often periods of time between having one, so one day during a time of great strife or proceeding some terrible tragedy, a young Zora realized that they needed something to lift their moral &, despite not being the sage or a member of the royal family, he took it upon himself to train himself to better resist the cold until he was able to scale the mountain & return with an armload of the fresh, ripe fruit tucked in among Ice Fruit to keep them cold. He brought them to the local brewery & they could not believe their eyes, but with his help, they made the first barrel of the pear brandy in a long, long time, then passed out a goblet for as many as they could. While it did not change the tragedy that took place, it reminded the Zora that life goes on & that dawn was always around the corner. So, the Zora must also rise back up or one day, they may not be able to. It is said that on that day, Naydra appeared in the skies overhead the Domain as though blessing the young man for his tenacity. Interestingly, he eventually became an honorary sage. Though, he was not ordained nor had great spiritual strength, he proved himself worthy of the position nevertheless
Anyway, I’ve had the idea for these things called “Nayru Pears” for a good bit. (Think nova pears, but more pale mint-colored with a patch of pale blue frost resembling the pattern that appears when a soap bubble begins to freeze. It begins the momment that a snowflakes first touches the fruit. It's considered ripe enough to pick when the frostworks are only halfway covering the fruit. If you let it cover the fruit entirely, then it's overripe & begins to rot until we get a "ghost pear.") And I chose them because what I read is that pears are frost proof. (And even if I was misled, it’s already done & I ain’t changing it.) I had already had a couple ideas for lightning proof & fire proof fruit, so I needed something else to round out the trio. And I came up with those. Now, I had intended to have them only grow in west Hyrule due to them being an Ealiyan crop, BUT since Mount Lanayru is actually really small, I can have them only really grow there near the summit & around the spring. If I do that, I can have the Zora make pear brandies, perries, & I guess something like a poireau instead of pommeau! However, I think that this should be a Zora’s Domain specialty instead of Seesyde. Maybe, I can have it be something
 Hmm
I know that the Zora aren’t really great with the cold, but what if that’s part of it? I just had an idea for something like the running of the Olympic torch, but instead of a torch, they must carry loads of pears (nowadays, massive sacks across their backs) down from Mt Lanayru. Young Zora are selected & they train all year round, steadily adapting themselves to the cold, for the possibility of being chosen for such an honor. Now, of course, they wouldn’t be able to get enough to make tons of the stuff & the Zora can always trade for Ealiyan pears, but the ones that the Zora get for themselves from Mt Lanayru, from the oldest trees surrounding the Spring of Wisdom? The alcohol produced there is considered very important to them. Perhaps there could be a sort of informal cheers that they do when they drink it? A short “thank you for the bounty” sort of thing.
And now, each year at the same time, the Zora youth run & all who do are honored & celebrated. (I think that I might be going for something like what they did with Groose. “You might not be the super important hero-guy, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t make a difference.”)

Sorry, I think I blacked out for a second. (I jest, but I did get away with myself there. XD)
And, actually, I really like the idea of the trou normand instead of a cheese course. Like, I’m sure that there are Lanayru cheeses, but this at least lets me keep it to only 1 as I think I’ll make it be more something that’s produced in Goponga due to humans living there. Because I WAS thinking about putting a small ranch on Taltal Plateau! XD
Though, the little dive did help me iron out some details regarding both Ordon & Mabe’s own dairy industries, so I’m definitely not complaining!
Besides, I already had the palate cleanser course, so I could definitely add brandy soaking to it very easily!
Though, I’d still like to have someplace with a cheese course, but I think that I’ll make it more of a Castle Town thing. I’m kind of making it the culinary hub of Hyrule & since that’ll be one of the things that they’re known for, it makes perfect sense that they could serve all the different sorts of cheeses from all over Hyrule as it can act as a bit of a tourist thing where people can come to sample a small piece of Hyrule’s many unique foods!
Oh! That makes me feel so much better! Thank you!
Sounds like a good place to start regardless.
To be fair, it’s not the Zonai’s fault that the developers dropped the ball on them. But regardless, I understand.
That’s fair & it’s okay. I can definitely see your logic there.
Always happy to help! And I know, right!? It’s so interesting! Though, I’m not quite so sure about
Was it Tera? Anyway, I actually quite like the idea that the Great Fairies had more of a role here & that, with the help of offerings, Tera had been able create an entire oasis in the middle of the desert. Though, I think that I might be a bit biased due to my interest in Celtic myth where the fae are really strong & essentially goddesses in their own right. I mean, the Fairy Fountain of Outset Island was said to be the home to the “Goddess of Fortune,” there was how the Fairy Queen of Four Swords Adventure showcased her own tremendous ability, how the Fairy Queen of Labrynna, then how EoW’s Great Fairy lived in a shrine (which are places for worship) specifically built for her, & finally, how the Horse God, Malanya, emerges from a giant flower bud the same way that the Great Fairies do in the Wild Era. As such, even if the Great Fairies or Fairy Queens aren’t true deities, I very much can see people worshipping them like goddesses. So, even though the Great Fairies of the Era of the Wild are able to move around, all that really means is that they can move. Because they first appeared near these areas, it’s possible that they may have simply been places of significance to the Great Fairies. I also just really like the idea that deities, in some way, might actually need followers in the world of Hyrule.
Which actually reminded me of something I was just thinking about! (Something to do with Ganondorf’s motivations for even wanting Hyrule to begin with considering the Gerudo don’t live in a desert in your version.)
But, anyway, that’s what I’m goin’ with!
Oh! Well, I’m glad that I could help with your story! ^^
Personally, I pretend that all the Kokiri have magic clothes that grow with them. So, this would just mean that Time’s clothes changed to accommodate for his growth. I mean, the Deku Tree seemed to know of Link’s destiny beforehand, so it’s possible that he figured that this might be one of the few things he could do for the boy. A bit of a handwave, but I like to think it’s within the realm of possibility.
Mmm, at first, but I also think that they’d hit their stride fairly quickly too.
I see your point. And I’ll try to hold back the “um actually” nerd in me.
Sucks when that happens.
This is true.
I can understand that. I will note that it wasn’t only Rauru. It was Rauru powered up by his wife & adopted daughter, who was also a goddess incarnate, so... *shrugs*
You’re right. I guess that it’s just easier to do so by making them combat proficient.
Now, I can definitely agree with this. I would’ve liked to see a more spiritual lean to the Sages here. But, without it, I actually think that they should’ve used a different term so as to give them their own identities. Maybe Magi or something. Because in this specific instance, every one of them already had magic of their own. Maybe even giving each one their own epithets. Like, Archer of Winds, Duelist of Currents, Samurai of Souls, the Dancer of Tempest. Stuff like that.
Well, I wouldn’t say because they’re descended, but more so that there seems to be a definite tendency. There’s always a possibility for breaking the mold.
Hey, so long as they get a chance to shine, then I can live with different sages.
At the same time, there are also the spells that you get in AoL. You get them from 8 Wise Men. So, maybe that’s the issue. The Sages of TotK honestly function more like those Wise Men. However, the term for wisemen is kenja, which is the same word used for sage. In fact, one of the reasons why they originally used Wise Men in AoL rather than Sage in the US appears to have been specifically due to sage having religious connotations. However, from what I could tell, they were more reminiscent to Merlin, Dumbledore, or Gandalf.
If I’m right then, maybe the reason why the Sages of TotK don’t work the same as those of other Zelda games may be due to them being more akin to the Wise Men from Zelda 2, who appeared to more so be magic users.
It’d certainly fit better with how they handled them in TotK.
Actually, you’re right. My apologies. And, I’ll agree with you here. Though, to be fair, if the sages were that ancient, then most of the modern characters are likely related to them at some point, so nevermind. It also wasn’t rude. You were very polite about how you pointed it out & I think it’s good for me to be made aware when I’m implementing a double standard, so thank you.
True. I can live with this.
Ooo! Cool! Always happy for a companion!
Oh, that one was fun! Unfortunately, I don’t really have all that much thought up for Time’s mom. However, I very much DO have a bunch thought up in regards to OoT Ganondorf & his origins. I
I may have been channeling a little bit of soap opera for it, though. 😅
It’s perfectly understandable. Besides, I nitpick, too. But yeah, that’s basically my thoughts.
Maybe a bit, but even the simple need to prove his superiority (especially over children) suggests that his ego might be quite fragile.
I mean, that isn’t really all that different to what they do with the young vai, just older. And, I’m pretty sure that most in the middle ages left home to look for work at as early as 12-14, which was also around when you were considered old enough to get married. Although, I believe it’s important to note that the average life expectancy back then was around 35. Though, this was largely due to the infant mortality rate bringing the average down. According to the information that I’m looking at, it was actually not uncommon for people to reach 60+, but at the same time, very few children lived to the age of 5 back then. Either way, I still think that this is a fairly possible one. If you think about it, how many teens did we see still living with their parents in
Most of the LoZ games, actually! Though, I get what you mean. So weekly correspondence with the girls is probably the best we can expect. Like, with that law, the girls couldn’t visit their fathers at all until they were 16-18 at least.
Yeah, I think that Mars Needs Moms could’ve been an interesting movie had it been given the chance. Oh well.
Now, that I believe! While she isn’t normally mischievous, I do think that Riju would take the opportunity to mess with Link a bit.
I suppose that it really depends on how ya wanna go about it. Personally, I think that having a physical body would give them more oomph due to having more mass, but you could also have it that not possessing an organic body gives them greater access to magic or lets them not need as much food or get as tired as quickly.
Understandable. It could also work as making him a different type of Tsukumogami. The type who comes about as a result of abuse or neglect to the object in question.
Yeeaaah
but that’s no fun! Let me psychoanalyze the candle-head! đŸ€Ł
Besides, Ghirahim has also never really been the most
stable character. In a way, I kinda see him as being something of a zealot. So, I dunno. Can we really trust him to understand what a healthy relationship is? And keep in mind that Fi didn’t need to have that happen to her. So, it just seems like Demise was just doing it because he could.
I thought about it, but that felt too easy to just make the Sage of Lightning his sister. I’m still figuring that part out. Unfortunately, he’ll never get the chance to meet her. He’ll be sealed away for 10,000 years.
Eh
I dunno. I actually like that they didn’t originally have pointed ears. Made them different. Also, same! Never liked the “Groose is the origin of the Gerudo” theory. My thoughts are instead that it was the other way around. That Groose was a very distant descendant of a Gerudo. In fact, my version of everything has it so that the Gerudo don’t actually originate from the same continent as Hyrule. However, they do come from fairly close. And, in fact, I believe that until the Lanayru Sea dried up, I think that the 2 continents were completely disconnected from each other. In my mind, where the Gerudo were from is southwest of Hyrule across the sandsea until you find yourself on Baydaan, which is my idea of where the Gerudo are from.
Anyway, my thoughts are that maybe 1 or 2 Gerudo migrated across the Lanayru Sea before the mess with Demise & integrated among the locals. That some of their descendants had also been on that spit of land that Hylia lifted into the air & that line eventually led to Groose & Karane. (I’m thinking cousins or something like that.)
Now, this is mostly background lore & won’t really be mentioned in the storyline I’m doing, so I think it’s fine if I tell you about this.
See, I’m having it so that, much like my suggestion with Hylia’s bloodline & how only her reincarnations get as big of a magic boost, I do this similarly with all reincarnations in LoZ. My thoughts are that souls can be a bit picky about who they wanna reincarnate as. Generally, they wanna go with someone with as similar genetics as possible due to the whole spirit & body meshing thing. That doesn’t mean that they can’t reincarnate as someone completely unrelated to a previous life, but it does mean that it’s very very uncommon.
This also doesn’t mean that they’re always born as the direct descendant of their previous life. And, remember how I told you that Demise ate a fruit that turned him tenfold on the outside what he was on the inside? When that happened, his soul tore in half: the dark & corrupt part of him staying with Demise, but the rest of him was reborn as a mortal. This mortal lived & died several times before eventually being reincarnated as Groose. Then once Groose eventually died, the lingering piece of Demise that still remained after Sky killed him latched onto Groose because it recognized him & eventually, the reunited pieces were reborn as Ganondorf.
And THAT, my friend, is my grand master plan! *cackles like a cartoon villainess*
Fair. Always a fan of a bit more logic.
No clue, but I’m workshopping it! There’s supposed to be a few of them a few years after the plot with Nemma has finished!
Well, there’s writing home for starters. Also, if other Gerudo visit, some probably spill the tea at the canteen without realizing. But I get that it probably wouldn’t be a typical thing.
I mean. That’s just it. The Gerudo do need men. Maybe not on a developmental level, but definitely on a biological level. Though, even then. I actually have a bit of a question. Who are the heavy laborers among the Gerudo? Because never once have I ever seen a Gerudo construction worker or stone mason. It’s always warriors & vendors & meusses & Sand Seal sellers & jewelers & teachers & a singular botanist. Yet, among all of those, I can legitimately say that Mattison is the only one I can see becoming a builder among the Gerudo. Similarly, she also seems the only one I’ve seen who might actually return to interact with her father & that’s because she seemed to be a regular daddy’s girl.
And, yeah. No matter what, there really isn’t a flawless explanation. Not without changing parts of Gerudo lore on a foundational level. I mean, you could always take some cues from Greek myth. The Amazons are right there. Then again, they tend to have various different depictions to them. Some not bad & some
 not so great.
Holy
 wow! That’s
yikes!! I would definitely say that is, indeed, wild! I was very much not expecting that! But that’s even less okay! Like, who was teaching these women such absolute codswallop!?
I bet it was the Twinrova. They seem the types who’d make outrageous claims like “marriage is a social construct created by Hyrulean men to enslave women.”
I’m not sure just yet. I will say that I’m really not fond of the idea of magic just being a sort of a fix-it-all thing. I definitely prefer a bit of nuance regarding how healing magic works, especially. Like, maybe potions can’t fix everything? Maybe it acts as a temporary splint or something like that? And maybe healing magic like Mipha’s can’t just fix things? Maybe you have to have some idea as to how a body works for you to get the best effect? That way, things like medicine can still be something that needs to be studied.
Thanks
It’s just frustrating, I guess because I like them, too.
This is fair. But you’re right. There really is no truly perfect way to do that without either implementing changes in the actual story or compromising one side in favor of the other.
I just think that you gotta be careful about how you deal with it, is all. If nothing else, even the Gerudo & the story to a degree seem to realize how not okay their custom is. Not only on a modern level, but the heroines also felt great shame for turning the 8th away despite him having brought them together. I mean, wasn’t so much as suggesting that an 8th heroine might exist considered blasphemy by some? I think I remember reading about that.
Oooo! I actually just read about something that might click with you, then! Did you know that mother cats in the same pride will often buddy up & tend to switch between which of them takes care of all the kittens between them? Evidently, it allows one of the moms to take a bit of time off to unwind, get some food, a nap, etc. before getting back to it! So, if you’re going a more best friend/sisterly route, then you might want to consider that. That way, their daughters end up essentially being raised as sisters. If so, then you could bring into the Gerudo culture something like legacy friendships that span generations or something. Like, I dunno if you’ve ever watched Ouran High-School Host Club, but what I’m thinking about is basically the relationship between the Haninozuka & Morinozuka families, but less as one protecting & serving the other, & more like they’ve been friends who protect each other for many generations. That could definitely be very interesting! If so, then maybe, have romantic & sexual love be less of a centralized focus for them & instead have the more platonic/familial types of love be held in a higher esteem. Still love, just different. So, maybe make sisterhood a big deal for them?
Nah, you haven’t given me the idea that I was being annoying. I just find that it’s important to check in every once in a while to make sure. And you’re fine! Not annoying.
Oh! I just remembered! I’ve shifted my interpretation of the LoZ timeline a bit.
Now, instead of HW resulting in merging all 3 timelines, I’m just having it so that it only merges the child & adult ones. My thoughts are that the Downfall Timeline was always a possibility & that’s the reason why Tempo & Harmony (CoH Link & Zelda) are sent forward in time. They were sent because Time lost & died. And Tempo, Harmony, & Cadence are who killed Ganondorf, which allowed the sages to seal Ganon’s essence away.
What wasn’t supposed to happen was Lullaby (OoT’s Zelda) sending Time back to the past. It was only supposed to be either the adult OR the child timeline. And the reason why the child timeline was a consideration was that Time could’ve returned to Hyrule Castle after obtaining the Goron Ruby, but before curing Lord Jabu Jabu, then confronted the king with both the Kokiri Emerald & the Goron Ruby as well as eye-witness testimony from Darunia who could corroborate. There would’ve been no need for time travel there & was most likely the preferred option. However, the adult timeline was also possible, only that it was expected that Time would simply stay in the future.
As such, in this version of events, Nayru, possibly being supported by several other time deities, merged the adult & child timelines. Maybe due to some issue that might’ve cropped up had she not done so.
But this is just my interpretation of it.
...
Ah! I just realized that I didn't put up the right Hudson picture:
Tumblr media
There we go. Sorry about that. 😅
@aikoiya The post was getting long again so here's a new one!
I knew you were going to answer that saying "this is unfair" isn't real life logic haha (and I agree that life hasn't been fair to Sky and Sun anyway). It's just that such an ending would probably leave me feeling unsatisfied and even a bit robbed, and I think it would require a lot of other changes to be made to the story in order for it to work properly. But anyway you're right, as things are now this would just be happening behind the scenes so what I'm saying doesn't really make sense. But just thinking about it changes my perception of SS in a way I don't really enjoy, so it's not a theory I favor.
Yes in that setting I'm pretty sure that the other Sun would not make herself known to Link and Zelda and would let them have their happy ending. But I think Zelda would likely suspect her existence and know that something is wrong. I guess even Link could notice that the Temple's doors are suddenly open and would ask Impa a few questions.
I had no idea Tingle called Farore the Goddess of Wind in WW, so I went on a little quest to see if I could find the same quote in the French version of the game. Apparently it's in Tingle's description of Outset Island and I never had the chance to play with the Tingle Tuner mode. I can't find the same quote in French anywhere and I don't even know if this was included in the HD remake (I guess I'll have to wait for a Switch version to find out
if they ever release one). This has me wondering if this quote isn't something exclusive to the English version, but I can't be sure and I'd like to know what the original Japanese text says. The French wikis mention that Farore is the Goddess of Wind in WW but don't provide any quote, it just looks like the pages were translated from English but that they couldn't find the same quote in French. It's really frustrating!!
Anyway that's a bit weird because WW already establishes Zephos as the God of Wind, and he seems to be a minor deity compared to Farore. The way I see it, wind is just the element that Farore tends to be associated with, and since a lot of myths might have been lost with Hyrule in WW this could just be a mistake on Tingle's part. I mean this is the game that gave us the Golden Triumph Forks haha.
I'm not limiting Nayru/the Golden Goddesses to a singular domain, quite the opposite ^^ To me Nayru being the Goddess of Wisdom includes different concepts such as order, law, science, magic, etc., and even time (since she's introduced as the creator of the world's fondamental laws), while calling her the Goddess of Time doesn't include all of that. That's why I wrote that I found it a bit restrictive. But sure she could have both titles, the same way Farore could be known most commonly as the Goddess of Courage and also called the Goddess of Wind in some situations.
Oh I didn't think of the blocks from OoT! I would say though that they don't really use any time powers, they're just random blocks that appear or disappear for some reason when Link plays the Song of Time (it's just as absurd as playing the Song of Storms to open holes in the ground haha). But yes they were blue and associated with time, and of course Nayru is too. The difference with Hylia in my theory is that Nayru created the rules of time (if that makes sense) among other fundamental laws, while Hylia's power specifically allows her to manipulate time and foresee the future. In a way I see Hylia as Nayru's spiritual daughter who inherited some of her powers over time (and that's why the color purple she's represented with is very close to blue).
The Master Sword has also been depicted as either blue or purple though, so that asks the question of the true color of all of these things! Nayru is definitely linked to time so it makes sense that the timeshift stones are in Lanayru (and Hylia also doesn't have a province named after her).
"From the edge of time" could definitely just be a poetic way to say that Hylia kind of recorded a message for Link before dying haha. But I find it interesting that she would phrase it like that, I like to see it as a clue.
Well if Zelda simply sent Link to a point further back in time, wouldn't there be two Links existing at the same time in the Child Timeline? But sure Zelda creating a brand new timeline also raises a few questions that kind of... make my head hurt. I'm not sure what happens exactly, I've always wondered! All we know is that Link finds himself in the Master Sword's chamber with the Door of Time already open, which hints at things happening in a different way this time (because he definitely doesn't have the three spiritual stones and the Ocarina of Time yet since this is before Ganon's coup, and the ending seems to imply that this timeline's Zelda doesn't know him yet). That's why I believe Zelda might have done something a bit more complex than sending him to a point further back in time, but there's no way to be sure. The Triforce of Courage is also visible on Link's hand during the ending, and we also know thanks to TP that the Triforce is still separated in the Child Timeline despite Link and Zelda preventing Ganon from entering the Sacred Realm this time. So maybe Zelda isn't able to change everything? It's complicated haha.
Anyway, whether OoT Zelda creates a new timeline or just sends Link further back in time, that's still huge time powers and that's not something Link is able to do by playing Zelda's Lullaby.
I also believe it is more likely that Talon inherited the ranch. True, Talon might not always have been so lazy, but maybe if that was the case the game could have hinted at hit. All we know is that he leaves his daughter alone with Ingo and only comes back after Link deals with the situation, which does not make him look so great. And he only promises to work harder after that.
I'm kind of bad with names so I'm impressed you're going through all of that trouble to rename the settlements!!
I haven't gotten to developping the technology that much yet, but I'm really interested in seeing what the different races could do with it! I love the idea of using the Sheikah to infiltrate the Yiga bases. I wish TotK had done something like that and shown the Sheikah helping Link that way.
Same, I was so excited when I heard about these pirates
and then so disappointed to find nothing more than a bunch of bokos with no backstory.
Vignoble is not related to noble (though I kind of make the association in my mind, especially since vignobles are sometimes called chĂąteaux).
Yes I thought you could maybe use clos! Aquaticlos is funny, it can work! Though maybe you could use the same logic as for the raisins (I love this Raisins de Terre idea by the way, it makes sense!) and say that what the Zoras call a clos already refers to something that's underwater, since that's probably the case for most of what they cultivate.
I don't mind helping you with French, I'm glad to do so! You put so much effort and thought into this, it's really interesting.

https://perfectdailygrind.com/2019/01/which-is-the-best-non-dairy-milk-for-specialty-coffee/
In the article I have linked, author Hazel Boydell discusses the different kind of milks and mylks (vegan milk substitutes) and what are the best options for a person depending on their dairy or non-dairy preference. She discusses why certain options are better than others and what makes the milks different from milk besides that they are plant based options. She even pulls quotes from some of the best roasters in the world.
it is 2020 and we have at least seven different kind of milk options when it comes to what kind of milk we want in our lattes. About a decade ago, if I wanted a milk option that did not come from a cow I was told I was high maintenance and would often have my friends roll their eyes ate me. There was even a time where requesting a latte to be skinny or made with 2% milk would get an eye roll reaction. Yeah, lactose intolerance is one of the more inconvenient dietary issues that one may face but it is still a health concern. Now comes the decision of what is the best milk. Very few people want plain whole milk anymore. There are at least five non-dairy milks that I can think of off the top of my head but which is the best. Oat, Almond, Coconut, Hemp, Soy? All run possible risks of other health and dietary options. If a person allergic to tree nuts that eliminates both almond and coconut. As well as the strong flavors that go along with both variations of the milk. Hemp does not have any real allergen negatives but it does have a strong flavor that may not mix well with coffee, especially if people are particular about their latte taste. The downside to oat milk is that it contains more sugar and it has gluten. If someone has celiac disease this can be not the safest option. And what has always been the downside to soy is that you could be allergic or if your family has a high risk of breast cancer it is best to avoid anything that is soy or high in soy content.
Then comes the issue, if you are grabbing a coffee at a more bougie coffee shop, of latte art. For some it is the main reason to get a latte to begin with. Some of these milks, because they are thinner and steam differently than regular milks, do not allow for foam or art. This sounds ridiculous but it is a very important part of an avid coffee drinkers experience. Sometimes the heart or leaf or flower makes someone’s day.
For me personally, my go to is a soy vanilla latte. I like it because the milk is a little creamier and the flavor is not as strong in comparison to the nut based mylks and not as sweet as the oat and hemp.
Everyone has an opinion. Leave a comment tell me your favorite latte milk preference, why, what your favorite latte art is and where you got it at.
