When you two first started dating, you both didn't want to tell anyone, so you couldn't be affectionate around each other. Or so you thought. He'd hold your hand under tables, make sure you two were sharing a hotel room &/or bed, kiss the back of your hand when nobody's looking, give you hugs, tickle you (we all know he would tickle you. he did it to Mark, why not you?), etc.

If you were a drum player, he'd randomly rest his chin on your head if you were sitting down to play

If the band had to get on a plane or train to get to the next concert location, he'd be SO CUDDLY!!! He'd lay his head in your lap or vice versa, he'd hold your hand, he'd share an earbud with you, he'd let you watch him play The Sims on his laptop, he'd lean his head on your shoulder or vice versa, etc.

When the band goes out to eat or just goes out in general, he's paying for & doing EVERYTHING for you. You got something to eat? Don't even lay a finger on your wallet. You're in a store & you mention being hungry? He's grabbing every single snack & drink that you like. You shiver slightly? He's taking off his jumper or hoodie & giving it to you, no questions asked. You mention your legs hurting? You're being carried, either piggyback, on his shoulders, or bridal style.

it was a peaceful day at the spidersociety's headquarters. all the anomalies you and hobie have caught while patrolling were imprisoned in their cages, you did your daily patrolling chores and now boredom seemed to have gotten the best of you.

sometimes when you're bored, you wonder what your boyfriend was doing. well, factually speaking he was not quite your boyfriend, because of his "i hate labels" stuff, but it was most likely the two of you had something

sadly you spent most of your time wondering how he was going. you couldn't communicate because your communicator broke and miguel decided hobie had to give his to you.

you know what? fuck that hierarchy thing, just because some vampire spider man didn't want you to multi dimensional travel doesn't mean you wouldn't.

you then left your small apartment and headed to the headquarters.

"don't even think of it." firmly said miguel.

"what? i didn't even say anything yet-" you say.

"your backpack. it's the one you always bring with you when i send you in missions with hobie. considering the disaster it made when i left gwen visit miles last time, i am not letting this happen a second time." he said firmly.

"please." you try to beg. "it has been weeks since you last sent us on a mission together. plus it's soon our birthday and we celebrate all of them together. please? i promise you won't hear anything from me next."

"fine" he sighed, "but only for three days."

"four days? please?" you try to negotiate.

(i don't know how to describe it but imagine him pinching his nose yknow the thing he did In the movie)

"if i let you go, will you stop harassing me ?" he asked, visibly annoyed.

"pinky promise!" you exclaim, "thank you so much!"

he then opened a portal which led you to your boyfriend's dimension. you walked a bit to the bar where he probably was, as usual.

once you arrived, riri, one of hobie's best friend, warmly greeted you.

"glad to see you around!" she says with a warm smile. "if you're here to see hobie, he's in the back!."

you then headed to the room in the back of the building. you did find him practicing with his band. taking care to not disturb them, you sat on a small table in the back of the room.

you couldn't help but admire him. despite everything he went through, he always kept going.

"hobes", said a member of the group."i think someone's waiting for you."

as soon as he noticed your face, you could see his instantly lit up.

once his practice went all smooth, the two of you headed outside. a fresh breeze greeted you as the two of you tried to catch up on the lost time.

"i can't believe miguel let you come there" he says in disbelief. "i ain't complaining though, i missed my sunshine a whole bunch" he continues before kissing you.

"i missed you too, hobie," you murmur with a soft smile.

the two of you kept wandering in the streets, talking about random things.

"you down for cuddles, sunshine?" he asked as you came back home.

the two of you sat on the floor, your head on his chest, feeling his soft heartbeat.

eventually you both drifted to sleep, his hand playing with your hair.

I just did some digging on his voice actor Hugh Dillon, cause curiosity, he released a whole solo album in 2009 called " Works Well With Others", as Well as lead singer of the band "Headstones". Not only did it give me chills cause this is the voice actor but in my opinion the songs are very Nick! Highly recommend the listen, though I know I might be alone or late in this hype. XD

anon oh no, oh no now we're getting into the details aren't we. i'm torn between the band being primarily instrumental (akin to Polyphia) and having guest vocalists every now and then, vs having some hella strong vocalist - i'm thinking like Fuki from Doll$Boxx or omg what if someone like Tatiana Shmayluk from Jinjer?!? yoooo that would be intense. if the latter, then Lilith would be a terrifying analogue oh geez.

okay yknow what, i'm leaning towards instrumental first with guest vocals because i kinda like the idea of them working with different vocalists occasionally, which would be kinda like canon what with how their "front man" / halo bearer changes. but also like, that puts more pressure on each instrument to be on their game (which Beatrice impresses upon Ava when they have their two-day bootcamp).

as for how Ava first heard of them (aside: anon I am the absolute worst at naming things, their band's name is just going to be "the band" for the forseeable future lolol) maybe she happened upon their music online or heard about them somehow - someone playing a cover, someone mentioning them in passing, or maybe someone watching a video on their phone and Ava happens to see - oh that would be amusing if it was JC, yeah, lol okay, maybe JC's also a musician and someone sent him a video of their band but he's not really paying attention to it because it's not his vibe but Ava is enthralled. she goes home, looks up all their stuff, immediately starts playing along and it's difficult and brilliant and it pushes her to the limits of her skill level but she still has the utmost fun and it pushes her to keep learning. she becomes a fan but while she's eaten up every video and interview she could find about them (perhaps she happened upon one of those explainer videos that Beatrice did lol) she hasn't had the chance to see them live because they'd been on hiatus - hence why Beatrice (and Mary though she tries not to show it) are stressed about the upcoming gig, because while it's a small one, it is important to them since it's their first one in a long time.

oh and maybe also they're debuting new music for the first time in a long time at that gig - and maybe, after Ava's proven herself to Mary, they work through the song with Ava and Ava is able to play it perfectly, but then maybe during a break or something she's playing along to the track - not exactly practicing but like casually playing like she does at home alone whenever she listens to their songs, adding stuff here and there - and maybe Mary and Beatrice come back from break early and hear her and Beatrice looks at Mary and is like, "I'll make sure she keeps to what we've written" but Mary forestalls her, steps into the room fully, which catches Ava's attention, who abruptly stops playing and somehow manages to stop the track too without falling over.

"hey boss," Ava says, twirling the drumsticks between her fingers nervously. "that was a uh quick walk."

Mary's face is unreadable still, and she rewinds the track a bit. "do that fill again."

Ava blinks and Mary gives her a look that's like, 'do not make me repeat myself' and Ava scrambles to remember what she did and fumbles.

Mary shakes her head. "no, you did it differently last time." she kinda beatboxes what she remembers and Ava's like, "oh yeah" and repeats it correctly this time and Mary's taking up her bass and is muttering to herself about voicing things differently to match and Beatrice is like, "you want to change it? the performance is the day after tomorrow" and Ava's like, "hey I was just messing around" but Mary looks Ava straight in the eye and says, "it's a good idea. let's use it." then she looks at Beatrice and raises an eyebrow. "two days is more than enough time, right?"

and Beatrice kinda helplessly laughs because of course Mary would get caught up in this, in this energy Ava's brought with her - it's the renewal they've needed; Ava's exactly what they've been looking for.

YOOOO I recently met the members of this band, Olive Tiger, and they are SO NICE! I was a complete stranger at an event (I knew ONE person!) and they all worked SO hard to make me feel welcome and accepted and seen.

Also they were all queer artsy nerds so we found a LOT to talk about (up to and including AO3 and "I like your shoelaces" if you can believe it 😂)

Afterwards I went and actually looked up their music and. Like. Y'all. Y'ALL. They are SO GOOD. THEY ARE SO SO GOOD.

You celebrate his birthday by spoiling him and worshipping him just because it's his birthday, he may learn to enjoy it. All your attention is on him and your priority is to make him happy, i feel like he's not gonna give that up or tell you no. I mean, how could he say no to his favorite doll wanting to treat him? You give him your absolute attention all day? You make plans just for him? You gift him things and arrange things specifically for him? You dress up to his liking just to see him get worked up? You just make a whole day literally dedicated to his exact existence and put him on a pedestal of importance that no one else has ever done? Dude will have the absolute ego trip of his life, no shame at all because bitch, it's his birthday. Will sit back with his hands behind his head like "aight shawty, do your thing." And, of course, I must mention the birthday sexy fun times. Birthday smash? Just because it's his birthday? Hot dog! Sign him the fuck up. Radioactive Chicken Heads (originally called Joe and the Chicken Heads) is a Ska/punk band which started in the 1990's, as far as I know

Carrot Topp is lead vocals, I know that for sure, but I'm not 100% sure on who plays what for everyone else, sry :(

So I'm super SUPER knowledgeable on the lore yet but I do know some things, they radioactive chicken heads were created by a mad scientist called Dr. Cluckenstein, I'm not sure if it Carrot Topp was but he might have been idk, also Carrot Topp and Rockin Robin (backup dancer and sometimes backup vocalist) are married
