The Dubai desert is often one of the things to do in Dubai. There are several possibilities for a desert trip to Dubai or to enjoy it longer.

In this blog post, I will only discuss the desert safari in Dubai and the different options available to you for a desert tour. From the simple 4x4 desert tour from Dubai to night (or several nights) in the middle of the desert sand dunes.

First of all, I'll start this post by talking about the different desert tours in Dubai for a day tour. Indeed, they are numerous and I will tell you which ones are to privilege according to me to go to the desert in Dubai.

I then mention other options to visit the desert of Dubai as flying over the desert balloon or the opportunity to spend a night in the desert in Dubai, in camp or in a hotel. There is so much to do in Dubai that it is not possible to do many activities in the desert in Dubai. The choice of the excursion that suits you best is therefore essential!

Desert in Dubai: Day Trips

The most popular option for a desert trip to Dubai is the day trip. There are many options for these excursions in the desert of Dubai: 4 hours, afternoon + evening, with barbecue dinner or without. It is possible to do a safari 4 × 4 in the desert or rather a camel.

 In this first part, I will present the formulas that I recommend and advise the best providers to book your trip in the desert of Dubai. Indeed, there are a lot of providers who offer outputs of really different quality. On the quality of service, the meal but also on the location where you will go.

Excursion + BBQ Dinner in the Desert Of Dubai

A most popular package for spending time in the desert in Dubai in the afternoon and an evening barbecue dinner in a desert camp. It's a good compromise to enjoy the desert and its landscapes are there to spend a night.

You can book Evening Desert Safari for a quality service provider that selects beautiful places in the desert of Dubai and offers a great meal.

Note, there are also desert tours in Dubai that are shorter, without the barbecue. I do not recommend these activities because you will spend less than 2 hours in the desert for as much time on the road. This formula with dinner in the desert is the basic option in my opinion. In addition, you can take the opportunity to admire a beautiful sunset over the dunes of the desert of Dubai.

 Desert Safari + BBQ: Included in Dubai Pass!

If you're planning on a desert safari with BBQ dinner, be aware that this Dubai desert tour is the one included in the Dubai Explorer Pass, Dubai's city card.

 Activity in Dubai Quad In The Desert

If you prefer to travel the desert dunes of Dubai in the hummer, you can opt for an excursion including HUmmer (booking here).

As with other desert tours in Dubai, the service includes transfer from Dubai (round trip), a short desert camel ride and a barbecue dinner before heading back to Dubai in the late evening.

Excursion from Dubai with A Night In The Desert In A Camp

If you want to take a trip to the desert in Dubai and spend a night in a desert camp, you can book here.

This tour also includes round-trip transfers to/from Dubai, overnight in an Arab tent, and BBQ dinner on the camp. During the afternoon, you can enjoy the dunes for the sunset but also for sandboarding or a camel ride.

Breakfast is also included. The departure is from your hotel in Dubai in the early afternoon and you will be back in Dubai the next day at the beginning/middle of the morning.

Even if my preference is for a night in a hotel in the heart of the dunes (I mention it later in the ticket), this trip in the desert of Dubai is a good way to enjoy the serenity of the desert, especially in the evening and early in the morning after sunrise. This is a very good option, especially if you do not have a rental car.

 My favourite for a day trip!

 This desert tour in Dubai is more VIP than the others. First reason, for this outing in the desert, you will go to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. It is a protected area of the desert where access is very limited. There are many oryx and gazelles in total freedom.

 You can avail a 4 × 4 safari in the desert of Dubai (in the reserve) for half a day. This excursion includes lunch in the sumptuous Al Maha hotel. Very logically, this VIP excursion is more expensive than the others. Access to the reserve is paying and very limited. Again, transfers from your hotel to Dubai are included, as well as lunch.

 Dubai Desert: The Options To Spend A Night There

If you want to spend a night in the desert in Dubai, which in passing is an excellent choice, two great options are available to you:

 to sleep in a camp (in an Arab tent called Khaimah)

to sleep in one of the hotels located in the middle of the dunes

The first option was mentioned at the beginning of this post in the desert of Dubai. All you need to do is book your night in the camp which includes transfer from/to Dubai. I will not go back to this option.

 The second option is to opt for a very classic hotel. Except that it will be in the middle of the desert of Dubai. These hotels are rather luxurious (we are in Dubai ...) but can nevertheless remain accessible price level in summer. Rates are then much lower.

I recommend this option because it allows to better understand the charm of the desert in Dubai. The camps are not necessarily exceptional and the surroundings are often plowed by the 4 × 4, camel or quad ... By opting for a hotel, you can fully enjoy the serenity of the landscapes of the desert of Dubai.

  Here are the 3 addresses I recommend in the desert in Dubai (ranked by increasing price):

 Bab al Shams , the most affordable fare level option. A charming hotel with a typical Dubai design and a superb pool

Al Wadi Desert , further north of Dubai, shortly before Ras al Khaimah. A beautiful hotel that offers many activities in the desert

Al Maha , the most luxurious hotel with a private pool for each city. Here, for every night in the hotel, you can do 2 activities without extra cost. Certainly one of the most beautiful hotels in the world! Count at least 400 euros per night in a double room. It is in the heart of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve and there are many oryx and gazelles nearby!

How To Go In The Desert Of Dubai?

If you are booking a desert trip to Dubai, a hot air balloon ride, or a night in a camp, these activities or desert tours include round-trip transfers to/from your hotel in Dubai. The question of the trip to the desert does not arise because it is covered by the excursion you will book.

If you're looking for a hotel to spend a night or more, it's easy to go to the desert in Dubai with your own car. Whether you rented a sedan or a 4 × 4 (4WD). Indeed, in the hotels that I recommend, all are very easily accessible. For the last hotel mentioned here, you will have to leave your car at the hotel's private car park to complete the trip with the hotel staff, aboard a 4 × 4 for a few minutes driving in the desert dunes from Dubai.
