Welcome to the 'Best Character with [X] surname' polls!
This is where I take several characters from different Chinese media (mostly cnovels and cdrama) and run a poll on which one is the 'best'. What does best mean? It's up to you! Whether you love them, are intrigued by their characters, love to hate them, or they're your '2 second blorbos whose personality you made up wholesale', these are all reasons for you to vote for your favs!
NB: the surnames are not exactly the same in all the cases, as often they will be a different character. I am, however, grouping them all together otherwise things got more complicated.
If you can't find a surname, it's because I couldn't find enough candidates (at least 3 from 3 distinct medias) to compete. Feel free to submit candidates!
I will be posting several polls at a time, so do come back and check this masterpost to remember which polls are ongoing, who the winners are, and who's coming up next!
Finished polls: Xing/Rong/Nan/Ren/Pan/Qu/Fu/Sui/Tan/You/Sima/Xuan/Chang/Xun/Shangguan/Jian/Qian/Shu/Xi/Yuwen/Cai/Sha/Yin/Ceng/Helian/Zeng/Lou/Mi/Ji/Ping/Tong/Tuoba/Ge/Murong/Hei/Niu/Tao/Si/Pang/Zi/Gongsun/Mao/Qing/Lian

Annals of Yanhe 1
[From WS004. Feng Hong of Northern Yan is called by his courtesy name Wentong to avoid the name of Emperor Xiaowen of Wei.]
[Yanhe 1, 17 February 432 – 5 February 433]
1st Year of Yanhe [“Extended Harmony”], Spring, 1st Month, bingwu [17 February], venerated the Foster Empress Dowager as the August Empress Dowager. Installed the August Empress, Ms. Helian. Installed imperial son Huang as August Heir-Apparent. Paid visit to the Grand Temple. A great amnesty, and changed the inaugural.
On jisi [11 March], a decree said:
We, though insignificant personally, obtained serving the Ancestral Temple, ponder revealing the vast foundation and broadly purify the nine undertakings. Coming across the last cycle, Under Heaven split apart and crumbled. Truly employing frequent campaigns, netting sometimes tranquil rest, from the Shiguang era until today, in the space of nine years, the military chariot ten times has been lifted up. The crowd of leaders, civil and martial, shouldering halberds and wearing armour, combed by wind and washed by rain, stamping shoes on spear-points and blades, equally toiled with Us.
Relying on the assistance of gods and honoured, generals and soldiers proclaimed merit. Employing the able to destroy and break the strong foot-boys, [they] overcame and annihilated the great loathsome. Troops did not do the utmost in martial ability, and the two robbers were fully wiped out. The leaders did not disobey the regulations, and the distant region so was tranquil.
Increasingly so the time's airs are harmonious and in accord, auspicious omens also come down widely in the commanderies and states, they are not possible to fully record. How are We, a single person, alone responding to this safekeeping? These are also caused by the crowd of princes' unity and cooperation. The excellencies and ministers following this examined the meetings of the various Heavenly People, and requested to establish assisting deputies.
In all cases the acts of celebrating and rewarding are the means by which to praise and venerate past deeds, the banner to display the worthy hence the blessings without limits for perpetuity. Should for Kings, Dukes, Generals and below, widely increase feudal rank and salary, unfold the state's hereditary families, restore discarded officials, lift up the capable and unconfined, get rid of and eliminate bothersome elaborations, alter and settle ordinances and regulations, and make an effort to follow light restrictions, eliminating the old and stripping off the new, so as to set right a united government.
The crowd of minsters will deeply ponder bringing about achievements, rectifying themselves on the Way of Straightness, establishing merit and establishing service, not anyone to be idle and neglectful, and declare to Us their thoughts on it.
2nd Month, bingzi [18 March], travelled to favour the Southern Palace.
3rd Month, dingwei [18 April], retroactively conferred on the Lady Ms. He to be August Empress.
On renshen [13 May], the King of Xiqin, Tuyuhun Mugui, sent off Helian Ding to the Imperial City.
Summer, 5th Month [14 June – 13 July], a great inspection of the multitudinous followers in the southern suburbs, wanting to chastise Feng Wentong.
Liu Yilong dispatched envoys to court with tribute.
6th Month, gengyin [30 July], the Chariot Drove to attack Helong. Decreed the Supervisor of the Left of the Masters of Writing, An Yuan, and others to station south of the desert, so as to prepare against the Ruanruan.
On xinmao [31 July], the Concurrent Cavalier in Regular Attendance, Deng Ying, was sent to Liu Yilong.
Autumn, 7th Month, jiwei [28 August], the Chariot Drove to arrive at Ru River.
On gengshen [29 August], dispatched the General who Calms the East, the Duke of Xuancheng, Xi Jin, to issue out the population of You province and the Dingling of Miyun, more than 10 000 people, to transport siege equipment, set out on the southern road, all together assemble at Helong.
The Emperor arrived in Liaoxi. Wentong dispatched his Attendant Imperial Clerk, Cui Pin to offer and present oxen and alcohol.
On jisi [7 September], the Chariot Drove to arrive at Helong, and overlooked its walls. Wentong's Grand Warden of Shicheng, Li Chong, Grand Warden of Jiande, Wang Rong, and more than ten commanderies came to surrender. Issued out their population, 30 000 people, to dig out encircling moats so as to defend them.
This Month [12 August – 10 September], erected the Eastern Palace.
8th Month, jiaxu [12 September], Wentong sent several ten thousand people to set out from the city and challenge to battle. The Duke of Changli, Yuan Qiu, with the Duke of Hejian, Yuan Qi, struck and routed him. The dead were more than 10 000 people. Wentong's Master of Writing, Gao Shao, led more than 10 000 families to guard Qianghu Stronghold [?].
On jimao [17 September], the Chariot Drove to chastise Shao.
On xinsi [19 September], beheaded him.
Decreed General who Pacifies the East, He Duoluo to attack Wentong's Grand Warden of Daifang, Murong Xuan, at Hou Stronghold; The Great General who Consoles the Army, the King of Yongchang, Jian, to attack Jiande; the Great General of Agile Cavalry, the King of Leping, Pi, to attack Jiyang. All took them. The people who had been captured alive were distributed and bestowed on the generals and soldiers each proportionally.
9th Month, yimao [23 October], the Chariot Drove to return west. Moved the population of Yingqiu, Chengzhou, Liaodong, Lelang, Daifang, and Xuantu commanderies, 30 000 families, to You province, and opened granaries so as to aid them.
Winter, 10th Month, guiyou [10 November], the Chariot Drove to arrive at Ru River.
Tuyuhun Mugui dispatched envoys to court with tribute.
11th Month, yisi [12 December], the Chariot Drove to arrive form the attack on Helong.
12th Month, jichou [25 January], Feng Wentong's Duke of Changle, Chong, and his mother [and?] younger brother Lang, and Lang's younger brother Miao used Liaoxi to belong to the interior. Wentong dispatched general Feng Yu to besiege Liaoxi.
Before this, commenced summoning the worthy and good, but in the provinces and commanderies there was much pressure to dispatch them. A decree said:
We eliminated the pretenders and pacified the brutal, campaigning and chastising for several years. Thinking to obtain the gallant and worthy, joining together splendour and governing the Way, for that reason decreed the provinces and commanderies to seek out and praise the hidden and unattached, to advance and lift up the worthy and capable.
The lordly masters of ancient times, nourished aspirations for a crossbeam gate, their virtue completing legacy and achievements, their talents were indulged [by?] their generation. Some of a harmonious look and elegant step, after instructed three times then they arrived. Some fussed and rushed, fearful and fretful, carrying the cauldron and then freed themselves. Though they followed [?] rather dissimilarly, they aided the times as one.
The various summoned people all will be presented the notification with courtesy, trusting them to advance or withdraw, what is there about pressuring to dispatch them! These Inspectors, wardens and stewards circulating praise [but] neglecting the purpose, how then to brilliantly increase, therefore are the means by which to make clear Our lack of virtue.
From now and afterwards, each will order the hamlets and villages to push forward and advance, the wardens and stewards are only circulate Our humble heart's thoughts of seeking the worthy. On arrival, at that time, since they are lifted up out of order, follow their talents in civil and military matters, and rely on them with government affairs. Should clarify and circulate the directive, so that all cause it to be heard and known.
This Year, Tufa Rutan's son Baozhou abandoned Juqu Mengxun and came running. Used Baozhou as Duke of Zhangye.

Meet Murong Miao, a College of Business faculty member. We asked Murong a few questions about her NMU experience:
What are your academic areas of interest?
Murong: I am passionate about teaching. I have been an instructor in China, and currently, I really enjoy teaching in the US. I have taught Consumer Behavior and Introduction to Marketing.  From the courses I have taught, I have learned how to communicate with students. I believe students learn best when they feel that I value their opinion. I encourage students to express their opinions. And I ty to respond to students’ emails as soon as possible.
Currently, I am pursuing research in consumer behavior. Specifically, my research is primarily motivated by the intersection between consumer psychology and marketing. My dissertation focuses on consumer envy. I study consumer envy in different contexts and from diverse angles.
What is something special you do as part of your curriculum?
Murong: I usually customize the powerpoint to help me covey the concepts as clear as possible. I would like to incorporate some examples when I teach theories.
What do you like about working at Northern?
Murong: I really enjoy working at Northern. It is really a great community. All the faculties are friendly and welcoming. Students here are polite and study hard. Especially, Marquette is a beautiful town and I really enjoy the summer and fall here.
What advice do you have for students?
Murong: I hope my students can study hard. Think about their future plan as early as they can. Therefore, they can manage their courses and plan for internship opportunities.
What are you passionate about? (professionally and/or personally)
Murong: Professionally, I enjoy doing research. I hope to collaborate with other faculties to explore more interesting research topics. Personally, I like reading books, watching tv dramas, and traveling.
What does "be Northern" mean to you?
Murong: It means that I need to change my lifestyle a little bit. Get used to the weather and enjoy exercising outside.

Could you tell me who 馮該 is? He appears to have something to do with Huan Xuan but google translate isnt really doing much to give me an idea
Feng Gai馮該 first appear in sources in 386 when he held rank of General who Spreads Power and was a subordinate of Huan Shimin, who was Jin's Inspector of Jing province. During the collapse of Former Qin, Fu Jian's son Fu Pi set himself up at Jinyang in Bingzhou, but in November 386 he was defeated by Murong Yong and fled south with what forces remained loyal to Dongyuan, which was located just north of the Yellow River, upriver from Luoyang. According to Huan Shimin's biography, Pi planned to attack Luoyang, which at that time was held by Jin, so Shimin sent Feng Gai to deal with Pi. Feng Gai defeated and killed Fu Pi, and sent what Qin leaders survived the battle south to Jiankang where they were pardoned.
Feng Gai next appear in 400 as a subordinate of Huan Xuan. Strictly speaking, because of the 13 year long gap and since Feng Gai doesn't have a biography, this could be a different person than Huan Shimin's general, but that sounds unlikely?
In the 12th Month of Long'an 3 (13 January – 10 February 400), Huan Xuan attacked the Inspector of Jing province, Yin Zhongkan, at Jiangling. Zhongkan's ally Yang Quanqi moved south from Xiangyang to attack Xuan. Quanqi was eventually defeated after some hard fighting and fled back towards Xiangyang. Xuan sent Feng Gai in pursuit. Gai captured Quanqi who was then executed by Xuan.
After defeating Yin Zhongkan, Huan Xuan started making preparations for his showdown with the imperial court at Jiankang. As part of this, he sent his generals Huan Zhen, Huangfu Fu, and Feng Gai to defend Penkou.
Open warfare between Huan Xuan and Jiankang, by this time practice controlled by Sima Yuanxian, Heir of Kuaiji, began in spring 402. Xuan led his forces down-river, not meeting any resistance before Liyang (on the north bank of the Jiang), headquarters of the Inspector of Yu province, the King of Qiao, Sima Shangzhi. Xuan sent Feng Gai to attack Liyang, and burn Shangzhi's ships. Shangzhi led his army out to do battle, but they were soon scattered. This battle took place on 16 April. On 18 April, Yuanxian's chief general Liu Laozhi defected to Xuan, and on 20 April Xuan crushed the final resistance, and killed Yuanxian.
In 403 Huan Xuan accepted the Nine Bestowments, by now one of the traditional steps towards usurpation. Around that time Feng Gai was stationed at Xiangyang, when in October, the Grand Warden of Nanyang, Yu Ze from Xinye, rose in rebellion and defeated Gai. Yu Ze was soon defeated, but there are no explicit mention of Gai taking part in any battles against him.
On 1 January 404, Huan Xuan took the throne as Emperor of Chu. His relatives and allies were rewarded with noble titles. Feng Gai became Marquis of Yufu.
On 24 March 404, the General who Establishes the Martial, Liu Yu, rebelled at Jingkou, he defeated Xuan's army and took Jiankang. Xuan retreated westward up-river, but suffered repeated defeats by Liu Yu's forces, commanded by Yu's chief supporters, Liu Yi and He Wuji, and Yu's brother Liu Daogui. By June, Huan Xuan had been pushed back to Jiangling. Feng Gai (then Grand Warden of Nanping according to WS) recommended he continue the fight from Jiangling, but Xuan instead wished to flee to Hanzhong where one his relatives was Inspector. Xuan's support was now dissolving fast, so nothing come of that either, instead he fled west towards Shu, but was attacked and killed on 21 June.
While Xuan was now dead, many of his clansmen and supporters were still alive, and they might not have seen much of a future for themselves in Liu Yu government. And Liu Yi had slackened the pursuit once Xuan's defeat seemed certain. So one of Xuan's nephews, Huan Zhen, managed to gather together an army, and seize control of Jiangling and the Jin emperor on 26 June.
The various biographies in the Jinshu, Songshu and Weishu covering Emperor An of Jin's reign overlap each other quite a bit, with the same wording often repeated several times. Below is an attempt to reassemble some of it in a sort of “composite translation”:
Liu Yi, He Wuji and Liu Daogui just then arrived at Jiangling. Huan Zhen and Huan Qian again assembled the multitudes to resist Yi at Lingxi. Xuan's general Feng Gai and his troops met up with Zhen, and he set up an ambush at Yanglin. Yi's army ran in defeat, and he withdrew to Xunyang.
Liu Yi then issued from Xunyang with He Wuji Liu Daogui and the army, they advanced to stay at Xiakou. At the time Zhen's General who Garrisons the East, Feng Gai defended the great bank, the General who Spreads the Martial, Meng Shantu occupied Lu Fort, the General who Assists the State, Huan Xianke guarded Yangyue Ramparts. The multitudes combined to ten thousand people, with joined warships [between] the two shores, aiding each other on water and land.
Liu Yi supervised the multitude armies to advance and chastise. He had not yet arrived at Fukou, when he encountered a gale wind sinking more than a thousand people. Yi, with Liu Huaisu, Suo Miao and others, attacked Lu Fort. Daogui attacked Yangyue Ramparts. He Wuji and Tan Zhi deployed the warships in the middle of the current, to thereby prevent [them] going past and escaping. Yi personally was accustomed to armour and helmet, [they] climbed the walls for half a day and the  two ramparts both collapsed. He captured alive Xianke, but Feng Gai escaped and ran to Shicheng.  Liu Yi advanced to pacify Baling.
1st of Yixi, 1st Month, 1st Month [15 February – 16 March 405], the Grand Warden of Nanyang, Lu Zongzhi,  assaulted Xiangyang, and routed Zhen's  Inspector of Yong province, Huan Wei.
On jichou [21 February], Liu Yi and others with the various armies stayed at Jiangling's Matou [“Horse Head”]. Zhen brought with him the Jin Emperor and set out to encamp at Jiangjin (“Jiang Ford”).
On xinmao [23 February], Lu Zongzhi again routed Huan Zhen's general Wen Kai at Zuoxi, and advanced to station at Jinan. Zhen heard of Kai's defeated, he kept behind his general Feng Gai to defend the encampment, while he himself led the multitudes for a great battle with Zongzhi. Zhen's bravery was at the head of the Three Armies, the multitudes were not able to hold out against him, and Zongzhi was defeated. Zhen pursued the fleeing, and came across Zongzhi with a single horse on road. He did not recognize him, and therefore asked about Zongzhi's whereabouts. He falsely said: “He is already fled before”. Zongzhi hence afterwards withdrew.
Liu Yi led He Wuji, Liu Daogui and others and the various armies to rout Feng Gai at Yuzhangkou, pushed the spear-points and advanced. Thereupon he entered Jiangling.
Huan Zhen saw the fire rising, and knew the city was already lost. He therefore fled north with Qian and others. The Emperor returned to propriety. Liu Daogui dispatched Liu Huaisu to pacify Shicheng. He beheaded Feng Gai and his son Shanjing.
(Two months later Huan Zhen was killed in yet another battle for Jiangling. Huan Qian escaped to Yao Xing.)

Annals of Taizong of Wei, Part 1
[Aka Emperor Mingyuan, aka Tuoba Si. The practice of killing the heir to the throne’s mother, rather than being an old Tuoba tradition, seems in fact to have been invented by none other than Taizu of Wei, Tuoba Gui.
There were no great wars during the Yongxing era (409-413), but there were several minor troubles, especially in Bingzhou.
Elsewhere Feng Ba kills Gao Yun to enthrone himself in 409, his state is usually known as Northern Yan. In 410 Liu Yu destroys Murong Chao and Southern Yan.
From WS002. The original Scroll 2 of Wei Shou’s Weishu has been lost. The received WS002 was copied from Wei Dan’s Weishu, written during the Sui.  The Annals of Taizong in Scroll 1 of Li Yanshou’s Beishi (BS) has a few entries not present in the current WS002, I have added these in brackets.]
The Grand Ancestor [taizong], the Clarifying and Inaugurating [mingyuan] August Emperor, taboo Si, was Taizu's oldest son. His mother was named Worthy Lady Liu. In the 7th Year of Dengguo [392 AD], he was born at the Yunzhong Palace. Taizu was late with having a son. He heard and then was greatly pleased. Therefore there were a great amnesty Under Heaven.
The Emperor was bright, far-sighted, large-minded and resolute, and did not act without propriety. Taizu considerably marvelled about him. In the 6th Year of Tianxing [403 AD], he was enfeoffed King of Qi, and designated Chancellor of State, concurrently Great General of Chariots and Cavalry.
Earlier, the Emperor's mother, the Worthy Lady Liu, had been bestowed death. Taizu informed the Emperor, saying:
Formerly when Emperor Wu of Han was about to establish his son, he then killed his mother, to not cause the Lady to later join with the state's government affairs, and cause the in-law family to make chaos. You will continue the government, for that reason I am far-reaching similar to Wu of Han, making plans for long long times.
The Emperor was habitually pure and filial, he mournfully wept and was not able to overcome himself. Taizu was angry with him. The Emperor returned to the palace, he mourned and did not stop himself, day and night he wailed and wept. Taizu knew and again summoned him. The Emperor wished to enter. Left and right said:
A filial son in serving his father, if it is a small cudgel he accepts, a great cudgel he avoids it. Now His Majesty is totally furious, entering is sometimes unfathomable, trapping the Emperor in unrighteousness. It is not as good moreover as setting out, wait for the anger to loosen and then advance. It is not too late.
The Emperor was afraid, and followed it. He therefore drifted and travelled to escape to the outside.

11th Month, guimao [31 December], Huan Wen [moved] from Guangling to garrison at Baishi.
On dingwei [4 January], he visited the palace because designs to depose the established. He defamed the Emperor that when he was a screened youth he became impotent from illness, his favourites, Xiang Long, Ji Hao, Zhu Lingbao and others, attending the interior bed chamber and the two Beautiful Ladies, Ms. Tian and Ms. Meng begetting three boys, long desiring to enfeoff and set up. At the time people were misled by it. Wen because of that suggested to the Empress Dowager to use the recommendation of Yi and Huo.
On yiyou [6 January], assembled the hundred officials in the Morning Hall, and proclaimed the Chongde Empress Dowager's order, saying: “The royal house is in difficulties and distress. Mu and Ai were briefly on the throne. The state's successor did not produce an heir and the place was not established. The King of Langye, Yi, personally then was the younger brother of the same mother, and for that reason he thereby succeeded to the great rank. He did not chart the virtue of it and did not establish [?], and therefore arrived at this. Benighted and muddled overflowing with chaos, events disobeys the rites and measures. There are these three concubine sons [or “scourges”], unknown of whom they are sons. The way human relationships is lost, an ugly sound in far-away displays. Already [he?] can not thereby serve and defend the gods of soil and grain, respectfully inhering the ancestral temple. Moreover the benighted concubine sons are both great, [he?] expediently desires to establish and set up heirs and fiefs [?]. Defaming and slandering the founders and ancestors, lauding the changing of the August foundation, if this then can be endured , what is not possible in the breast? Now depose Yi to be King of Donghai, using [him] as king to return to the grades, supplying rites of guards, in everything like the former affair of the Han court's Changyi. [I?] am only a not yet perished person without favour, [?] the sorrow from this is a hundred griefs, feelings and recall are being lost, the heart of it like a cut. In the great plans of the gods of soil and grain, righteousness does not capture the end[?]. Overseeing the paper grief is obstructed, what can be done with [these] words.”
And so the hundred officials entered the Front Hall of the Great Utmost. That day Huan Wen sent the  Cavalier Attendant Gentleman Liu Xiang to gather the Emperor's imperial signet and ribbon. The Emperor put on a white cap [?] and unlined garment, and walked below the Western Hall. Riding a calf chariot he set out from the Shenshou gate. The group of subjects bowed and bid farewell, and could not but watch with sobs. The Attendant Imperial Clerk and Overseer of Within the Halls commanded a 100 troops to guard and send him off to the Donghai mansion.
Earlier, Huan Wen had not the heart of a subject. He desired first to establish merit north of the He, thereby gathering the expectations of the time. Reaching the defeat of Fangtou, his powerful fame was knocked down. He pursued hidden plans to depose the established, to thereby lengthen his power and authority. Dreading the Emperor warding the way, he feared the summon for a discussion of the times. Due to the palace revealing a heavy gloom [?], and the bed and sleeping mats easy to defame, he therefore said the Emperor was a eunuch, and thereupon acted to depose and humiliate [him].
Earlier, the Emperor in all his life always accordingly was worried. He once summoned a skilled man, Hu Qian, to divine the stalks for him. The answer said: “The House of Jin has the firmness of a stone slab. Your Majesty has the appearance of setting out from the palace.” In the end it was just like his words.
2nd Year of Xian'an, 1st Month [21st February – 20 March 372], demoted the fief of the Emperor to be Duke of Haixi county.
4th Month [19 May – 17 June], moved his residence to Wu county, counselled the Interior Clerk of Wu state, Diao Yi, to defend and guard [him], also dispatched the Imperial Clerk Gu Yun to oversee and examine him.
11th Month [12 December – 9 January 373], the bewitching traitor Lu Song dispatched his younger brother's son, the Overseer of Within the Halls, Xu Long, arriving early in the morning at his gates, saying he had a private decree of the Empress Dowager, to serve and welcome, and restore him again. The Emperor at first desired to follow it, but accepted [his?] nanny's admonishment and desisted.
Long said: “The Great General is victorious, why make use of the words of boys, girls and children?” [Presumably Lu Song had taken the title of Great General.]
The Emperor said: “I committed a crime to get here [?], fortunately [I] was met with a broad pardon. How could I dare a foolish action! Moreover [if] the Empress Dowager had a decree, there expediently ought to be public officials who come, why a single messenger [like] you? You surely must be a rebel.” Because of that he shouted left and right to tie him up. Long was afraid and ran.
The Emperor understood Heaven's instructions could not be given twice, and was very concerned for an unexpected calamity. He therefore restricted and blocked up his intelligence and clarity, and was without a thought and without a worry. For whole days he drank without restraint and indulged in domestic favourites. When he had sons he did not rear them, numerously guarding [?] [his] allotted years. At the time people pitied him, and made songs about him. The imperial court, due to the Emperor being calm in his humiliation, did not again have concerns.
11th Year of Taiyuan, 10th Month, jiashen [23 November 386], he passed away in Wu. At the time he was 45 years old.
The Historian’s Comments
Your Subject the Historian says: Xiaozong, because of being carried in a swaddling embrace, employed the reforms of his mother's clan. The centre and outside was without affairs for more than ten years. Using the talents of Wu'an, he opened his borders and frontiers. Using the manners of King Wen, he extended to the Jiang-Han. Then as said by Master Kong, I find not flaw.
The Lamented August was broadly kind, and could be used as ruler, yet in vast sacrifices praying to Heaven, he made dust of his virtues.
Donghai defied the harness of Xu Long. Bending unrestrained [as a?] subject of instructions, it can be said that soft and fragile is better than rigid and stubborn. He obtained fully those of his allotted years.
The Appraisal says:
Sending furs to speak of reform,
Greatly Filial was the Ancestor,
Obeying his sagely excellence,
Completely now truly revered.
To the west flags on the jade ramparts, [Chengdu?]
To the north banners on the metal walls, [Luoyang]
Moving the abundant [like the?] ancient Bo,
They could not but come and follow.
The Lamented Follower was broadly benevolent,
However the spirits already assembled.
Donghai had many mishaps,
At the time calamity was seen approaching.
His unusual inclination to measures,
I [say he] was not Changyi.
