For many of us, toast is part of our daily routine. We wake up, brew a pot of coffee and pop a few slices of bread in the toaster for an easy breakfast. If you’ve got a good toaster on your hands, you’ll have a perfectly golden slice ready to top with homemade jam or a few slices of avocado. But if your toaster isn’t so hot, well, that toast can be burnt, unevenly toasted or downright disappointing.
So what’s really the best toaster to keep on your kitchen counter? Our Test Kitchen had to find out so your morning routine can be satisfying and delicious.
How We Found the Best Toaster Brands
To find the best toaster for your kitchens at home, our pros grabbed seven brands—some high-tech, some basic and some that landed in between. Each toaster was put through its paces crisping up the following: white bread, multigrain bread, oat bran bread, Italian bread, sourdough, bagels and frozen waffles.
Our testers paid attention to how long each slice took to toast, how evenly the toast looked and how crisp. We also kept these criteria in mind as we slathered slice after slice with butter.
Even browning: Are items browned evenly? Do you achieve consistent results every time you toast?
Toast time: How long does it take to reach the ideal medium brown toast?
Slots: Are the toaster slots wide enough to accommodate all kinds of bread like bakery-style bagels and larger slices of artisan bread?
Crumb removal: Does the toaster have a crumb tray? Is it easy to remove? Is it messy to empty?
Price: Are the features, functionality and appearance worth the cost?
Our Test Kitchen-Preferred Toasters
Our Test Kitchen went through a few loaves of bread and a couple of boxes of frozen waffles for this test. In the end, four brands popped.
For Impatient Toast-Lovers: Breville Die-Cast 2-Slice Smart Toaster
There are two kinds of breakfast-makers out there: People that push down the level on the toaster and let it go and people that have to peek at their bread every 30 seconds. If you’re one of the latter, this Breville Die-Cast Smart Toaster is the best toaster for you.
This toaster has a wealth of features ideal for the impatient among us, first of which is a progress bar. You can see how long you’ve got left on your toast giving you time to make a quick cafe-style drink or wash up a few dishes. Breville’s toaster also includes a “Lift and Look” button so you can peek on the status of your toast without having to cancel the cycle.
As far as this toaster’s performance, our Test Kitchen had no issues. Every bread and waffle we popped into the large slots turned out a nice even brown color—no obvious streaks and no burning.
Capacity: Two slices; you can also get the same toaster in a four-slice model
Settings: Toast, bagel and defrost
Additional features: Progress bar, Smart Toasting technology that adjusts the time and temperature for your selections, “A Bit More” button for a touch more toasting, “Lift and Look” function, removable crumb tray
Price: $130

Best Splurge: Wolf Gourmet 2-Slice Toaster
Serious cooks know that Wolf is one of the big names in premier appliances. (Raise your hand if you’ve ever ogled a Wolf range at the appliance store!) Rest assured that the company also produces great small appliances, like this Wolf Gourmet Toaster.
This toaster was one of our Test Kitchen’s favorites for many reasons, including the generously sized slots. At more than six inches long, you can easily toast long slices of ciabatta and sourdough without having any bread peeking out of the top untoasted. As for those slices of artisan bread, it came out perfectly toasted every time—no burnt toast here! The Wolf toaster did take a bit more time to toast up our bread and waffles, but our Test Kitchen thought the flawless performance was worth the extra 15 seconds of time.
One last notable characteristic of this toaster: It is heavy-duty. Our testing crew noted time and time again that you could feel the strength and quality of the materials used in making this toaster. Everything from the carriage that carries the toast to the knob felt like it would last for ages. This durability and performance make it worth the price.
Capacity: Two slices, also available as a four-slice toaster
Settings: Toast, bagel and defrost
Additional features: Keep warm option, removable crumb tray
Price: $300

Best Basic Model: GE 2-Slice Stainless Steel Toaster
Not all of us want or need the fanciest appliance out there. If you’re looking for a basic model that crisps up bread just right, opt for a GE 2-Slice Stainless Steel Toaster. This sleek toaster is compact and does the job well—not to mention it’s a great bargain from a notable brand.
The slots, while smaller than some brands we tested, were still large enough to accommodate generously sized bagels. As for toasting, this GE appliance crisped up bread evenly, though our testers noticed that what would be considered “medium” on this appliance was a bit lighter than what most would consider a medium-hued toast. No worries though—just crank up the dial a bit to compensate.
Capacity: Two slices, though a four-slice model is also available
Settings: Toast, bagel and defrost
Additional features: Removable crumb tray
Price: $49

For Smart Kitchens: Revolution Toaster
If you love techie kitchen gadgets and have a home full of smart appliances, you’ll want to check out the Revolution Toaster. This touchscreen toaster is the first of its kind. You make all your selections on the full-color screen by swiping and tapping, which our testers thought was pretty darn nifty (and even kind of fun!).
Besides being very cool, this toaster was speedy! Slices of oat bran bread popped up golden brown after just 90 seconds with an “enjoy” message on the screen. If you prefer your toast on the darker side, this might not be the best option for you. Well done toast came up a bit uneven.
One last thing: When it’s time to empty the crumb tray on this model, the toaster will tell you “it’s time!” That’s pretty nifty since many of us can’t remember the last time (if ever) we cleaned out our crumb trays.
Capacity: Two slices
Settings: Toast, bagels, toaster pastry, English muffin, waffle and defrost
Additional features: Touchscreen, smart sensors and removable crumb tray
Price: $300

Making the Perfect Holiday Cheese Board
The holidays are such a busy time for everyone and anything that can make life easier is certainly welcome this time of year! Entertaining is almost effortless when you know how to make a beautiful and tasty cheese board. It only takes a trip to the grocery store and a few minutes to put together an assortment of cheeses, meats and accompaniments that will totally impress your guests and leave you with time to spare.
Here are my tips and tricks on making a fabulous cheese board for any occasion and any size crowd.
Something old, something new, something soft, and something blue…meaning an aged cheese, a soft cheese, a fresh semi-hard cheese and a blue cheese. With that somewhat appropriate adage in mind, you can’t go wrong when it comes to building a cheese board that will impress even your most serious foodie friends.
Here’s what you’ll need to make a killer cheese board…
Choose as many as 5 kinds of cheese and arrange them artfully on your board.
Add an assortment of crackers such as bread sticks, crostini, multigrain crackers, water crackers, parmesan crisps, etc. French bread slices are also a delicious option.
Include seasonal fresh fruits - tangerines, grapes, pomegranate seeds, apples and pears are perfect for fall.
Dried fruits such as apricots, fig and dates are also a great addition.
Add nuts - pistachios, walnuts, roasted and salted pecans (a Southern favorite) and almonds.
The accompaniments are important and add interest and a pop of color to your board. Sweet and spicy spreads are delicious with cheeses and guests can mix and match according to their tastes. I love hot pepper jelly, honey, and tapenade and a bowl of olives.
I love to include a selection of cured meats such as prosciutto and salami.
Garnish with fresh herbs and you have a beautiful presentation that has something for everyone!
The perfect board and table scape naturally needs the perfect serving essentials to tie it all together. Here’s what you need to make this a meal!
A large statement serving board to display your beautiful creation!
Knives for cutting cheese and spreading (Williams Sonoma has a huge selection, and these are favorites) - it’s important to have a knife for each kind of cheese and the appropriate spreader for the condiments (honey, jellies etc.). I like to find unusual spoons and knives at vintage stores or on Etsy, to give my boards a unique look.
Fun cocktail plates (love these from Magnolia Home at Target) and cocktail napkins.
I love the idea of giving an assortment of cheeses as a gift. This box includes three different and handcrafted cow;s milk cheeses from different regions of the United States, as well as honey, dried fruit and nuts. Anyone on your list would love to see this arrive at their door!
This is one of several posts I’ve written about making a cheese board because it’s one of my favorite ways to entertain. To learn more about specific kinds of cheeses (and watch my video on YouTube), check out this post and this post.
If you’re looking for even more ideas on how to style your cheese board, be sure to check out my Pinterest board for lots of inspiration like the picture below!
Thanks so much for reading today! Happy Monday!

CHEESE PLEASE.
Hi, lovelies!
‘Tis the season for BBQs, beaches, and bathing suits and after a selfish winter, I could not be more thrilled. Well... honestly, I’m currently typing this from my NYC apartment so I could be a little more thrilled if I was actually ON the beach instead of writing about it. BUT, it’s okay because I’m heading out east in under 30 hours (yes, I’m counting).
Anyway, with the summer weather, comes the summer food and it’s truly one of my favorite times to play hostess. The seasonal palettes are FULL of color and freshness plus you get the added bonus of enjoying them poolside, picnic style, or à la plage. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite summer snackies, some of which have become true staples within my family. If you’re like me, you like good quality, aesthetically pleasing spreads without those pretentious prices (I know all the spots to hit up for the most financially friendly grocery shopping.) So hopefully, some of my favorites end up on your table, too!
Okay, so to start, serving cheeseboards is a summer must (and quite honestly, not a summer exclusive for me). Their versatility allows for them to be the perfect food ornament at a party or a lovely center piece for you and a few friends. Now, I’m talking beyond those pre-made cheese platter kits in the grocery store. You know the ones -- pre-sliced cheeses (usually cheddar, pepper jack, and colby), with butter crackers, maybe a package of pepperoni... *sigh*.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure those have saved multiple lives and friendships when you’re running late for a party and forgot you promised to bring something so you swing into Stop & Shop real quick and pick up one of those bad boys. But, if you’re the one hosting, the cheeseboard is something that should be put together with just a little more TLC. But don’t be afraid, it’s really not as difficult or expensive as it may seem. Usually, the deli section of your grocery store will have well-priced brands of cheeses, so check!
For my cheeseboards, I usually will have three different types of cheese. It keeps it interesting but it’s not overwhelming. On top of paying attention to the flavors that I’m putting together, I also pay attention to the shapes, sizes, and consistencies. I usually will have a wedge of cheese (generally brie, because it’s the bomb.com) as well as cheeses that are sliced and cubed because it adds texture to the platter and makes it fun. With the cheese, I usually like to include a type of fig, fruits (usually grapes, this summer I incorporated watermelon which was super refreshing), simple meats, and occasionally a variety of nuts. For crackers, I love anything of the veggie, multigrain, garlic and herb variety. For cost efficiency, I also recommend buying a French baguette right out of the bakery section in your local grocery store, slicing it up and popping it in the oven to make crostini. Super inexpensive and still delicious.
Presentation wise, I honestly would say to google images of cheese platters and try your best. Overtime, you’ll get the hang of how things fit and what looks best (and makes the most sense), especially on your own cheese boards. If your cheese exposure has been minimal and you’re not sure where to start, here are some common cheeses I love and to maybe help you get started with your summer of cheese: Smoked Gouda, Brie, Manchego, Garlic Herb Goat Cheese, and Pepper Jack.
Welp, I hope this has helped broaden your cheeseboard horizons. I’m personally looking forward to prepping one, pouring some glasses of wine, and enjoying some laughs with my family and friends this weekend.
Until next time!

Introduction:-
Multigrain crostini is a great option for party appetizers since it provides a healthy, adaptable foundation for countless topping options. Our multigrain crostini is the ideal example of Panemontella’s combining taste and nutrition philosophy. It is made from a blend of nutrient-dense grains; these crostini have a deep, earthy flavor that goes well with a wide range of toppings. Here are some inventive ways to serve Panemontella’s Multigrain Crostini if you’re throwing a party and want to wow your guests.
Why Multigrain Crostini?
Fiber, vitamins, and minerals are included in multigrain bread. A crostini made with multigrain bread is a healthier and more filling appetizer that will wow your guests. You can even have Multigrain Crostini with cherry tomatoes, parsley, fine chopped onions, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pepper, salt, and feta cheese. Also there are 10 Ingenious Methods for Presenting Multigrain Crostini:
1- Traditional Crostini: Garlic, fresh basil, juicy tomatoes, and extra virgin olive oil make a simple but delectable topping for your multigrain crostini.
2- Mediterranean Joy: Spread creamy hummus on your crostini and garnish with cucumber slices, kalamata olives, and lemon juice.
3- Fig and Prosciutto: To create a sophisticated and exquisite crostini, combine the sweetness of fresh figs with the saltiness of prosciutto. Drizzle with balsamic glaze for an additional taste boost.
4- Avocado Toast, Elevated: After mashing a ripe avocado on top, top your multigrain crostini with a fried egg, red pepper flakes, and a dash of salt and pepper.
5- Caprese Crostini: Top your crostini with sliced tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil, then drizzle with balsamic glaze.
6- Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese: Spread cream cheese on your crostini and add smoked salmon, dill, and lemon juice.
7- Grilled Vegetable Crostini: Grill bell peppers, eggplant, zucchini, and other vegetables. Drizzle the grilled veggies with balsamic sauce on top of your crostini.
8- Pesto and Goat Cheese: Spread pesto on your crostini and add crumbled goat cheese, honey, and pine nuts.
9- Spicy Tuna Crostini: Combine canned tuna, mayonnaise, Sriracha, and soy sauce. Place the tuna mixture on the crostini and sprinkle with the green onions.
10- Dessert Crostini: Spread your crostini with chocolate hazelnut spread or Nutella, then garnish with bananas or fresh berries.
