An official remake of Marathi movie Mulshi Pattern, the story set in Pune, has every aspect of a typical Salman Khan movie. ANTIM:THE FINALE TRUTH BOLLYWOOD MOVIE
Antim:The Final Truth is the adaption of hindi Marathi film Mulshi Pattern. It is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar.
Review of Antim:The Final Truth
Movie begans with the rebellious scene when Rahulya's father was beaten by some mafias, which sets the stage for a rebellious gangster story. His journey as a young gangster starts when Pune’s most influential goon Nanya Bhai (Upendra Limaye) takes him under his wing.
Salman Khan is playing the role of Inspector Rajveer Singh in the movie. He will be seen as a sharp minded Police officer who knows how to clean the city from any kind of gundda or gangster.
Movie has lots of action along with drama and dialogues. It is well tailored version of Marathi film Mulshi Pattern.
There is a major plot twist in the first half itself that helps in building momentum for its second half. Movie Antim:The Final Truth has become more solid by casting Marathi actors in important role.
In contrast of this movie has forced, lack of melody songs and too many characters, which perfect to jumble the story of movie.
Salman Khan is back in this movie with his cop role and Ayush has worked a lot to match up the body/fitness of Salman. But the film’s overall writing could have been tighter, less melodramatic and preachy.
Movie is all about the Drug Mafia in the city and how cop plays an important role in cleaning it.
Overall, if you are a old school Bollywood movie lover then Antim:The Final Truth is all for you.

Bhai’s ‘Pattern’
Bhai’s pattern: My quick take on Mahesh Manjarekar’s “Antim-the final truth” remake of ‘Mulshi pattern’ I only wish this final truth was more truthful towards the original iconic “मुळशी पैटर्न”. Remember this Praveen Tarade’s production was a landmark movie in Marathi, its box office success was good as ‘Sairat’. It is also ironic that Bhaijan despite coming from an illustrious family of writers…

★ ‘There's a certain comfort level...': Filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar on working with Salman Khan in Antim!
Nov 8. 2021
Mahesh Manjrekar wears many hats — he is a director, actor, screenwriter and producer. Manjrekar turned the spotlight on him with his performance in the 2002 multi-starrer, Kante. He later expanded his horizon and turned antagonist in South films like Arrambam (2013) and Okkadunnadu (2007). But, he is more popular as the director of critically-acclaimed movies like "Vaastav: The Reality" (1999), National Award-winning "Astitva" (2000) and the Amitabh Bachchan starrer "Viruddh... Family Comes First" (2005).
Manjrekar, who is currently seen as the host of the Marathi version of the reality show, Bigg Boss, is gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated movie, Antim — The Final Truth. The movie is an official remake of the Marathi blockbuster, Mulshi Pattern. It stars Salman Khan as a Sikh cop and Aayush Sharma as a gangster. The original featured National Award-winning Marathi actor, Upendra Limaye’s and Om Bhutkar as the cop and the gangster.
Speaking about the movie for which Manjrekar has also written the screenplay, he said, “Salman had bought the rights of the film long back; I came on board late. The director who was supposed to helm the film is a close friend of mine. But, unfortunately, he couldn't do the film and then Salman came to me with the movie. The cop role in the Marathi film was an important one. And since Salman was to play Upendra's character, I had to make some tweaks. I’m happy because I wanted to bring about a change in his image and surprise the audience.
”The filmmaker believes a role is successful only when the audience remembers the actor by the character's name. “For instance, Gabbar Singh (Sholay) or Bhiku Mhatre (Satya)... The audience always remembers these characters when one says Amjad Khan or Manoj Bajpayee respectively. They gained more popularity than the actors when the movies were released. And the actors also crave this. So, I want people to walk out of the theatre thinking about Rajveer Singh (Salman's character in Antim). We had to change our outlook towards this role. It is also a risk because when it comes to commercial films, the audience expects the hero to behave in a certain way. But times are changing and the audience is accepting actors in different roles,” Manjrekar shares.
Salman and Manjrekar have acted together in movies like "Wanted" (2009), "Dabangg" (2010), "Ready" (2011) and "Dabangg 3" (2019). Talking about working with Salman again and for the first time with Aayush, Manjrekar says, “There's a certain comfort level between Salman and me. We have known each other for a long time and share a great rapport. So, directing him was easy. I am not awed or intimidated by Salman like some people are. For me, he is a friend. I have known Aayush since I have met him a few times at Salman's place. I could notice his involvement, his anxiousness and excitement. Aayush is exceptional in the film; he is a good actor and has given a fantastic performance. I have used the excitement and eagerness he has in real-life for reel.”
So, will there be an Antim sequel? “There's nothing on that front as of now. But like they say, never say never!” Manjrekar is quick to respond. The action drama, which releases in theatres worldwide on November 26, is billed as a "gripping tale of two powerful men" with polar opposite ideologies.

Review: Parents are always expected to work hard to present a better or a comfortable life to their children. But how acceptable is when children take up the responsibility to better the lives of their parents? Such an unusual yet interesting question is explored in Sudesh Manjrekar’s Kutumb. The characters and some of the events surely succeed in moving the audience but due to the writing and execution (in some parts), the film turns out to be just a one-time watch.
During the initial moments, the writers and the director use the visual medium very intelligently. The nature of the four characters, the love between them, their problems and their everyday life is described without much use of dialogues. And once Siddharth Jadhav’s character is introduced, the proceedings get a booster. But there was no need to include two songs without any gap to prove the dancing skills of the two kids. Despite that, the first half manages to lay a decent foundation.
Kutumb Marathi Movie 2006 Watch
The events that follow are appealing alright. But now the film starts treading on predictable lines. An over-emotional scene (not possible to reveal more), involving one of the main characters, appears silly. But what hurts the most is how the audience is made to watch a dance reality show for a long duration later on. The pre-climax and the climax should have been framed in a way that it gets the audience rooting for the kids.
A very interesting fact is observed in a number of Mahesh Manjrekar’s films including Kutumb. The main protagonist receives tremendous help from a supporting character who is Muslim by religion. Apart from Kutumb (where Jadhav plays Joshi’s friend), this is seen in his earlier films Kurukshetra, Viruddh, Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi!, Mee Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy and Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho. Co-incidentally, in three of the six films mentioned, Jadhav has played the concerned character.
Technical aspects like cinematography (Ajith Reddy) and background score can be included in the plus points. The editing is fine but it should have been tighter during the dance reality show scenes. Ajit-Sameer and Abhijit Kawthalkar’s music suits the film. Dialogues (Pravin Tarde) are effective and moving.
The performance area is the biggest plus point. Jitendra Joshi is brilliant as he pours his heart out while playing a caring father and husband. He is on a roll this year. Vena Janmkar too gets into the skin of her character with perfection and presents a realistic act. Gauri Ingawale and Mihir Soni deserve huge applause for not only giving mature performances but also showing some terrific dancing skills.
Siddharth Jadhav presents a lovable act. Manasi Naik is likable too. Vaibhav Mangale plays the bad guy well while Bhalchandra Kadam, his sidekick, is not bad either.
Overall, Kutumb can be seen once if you prefer emotional family dramas. The film will need positive word-of-mouth to succeed at the box-office. It will face opposition from next week’s awaited No Entry Pudhe Dhoka Aahey.

The first season of the gangster drama, Sacred Games took the nation by storm with Saif Ali Khan playing a no-nonsense Sikh Cop to a Marathi Gangster played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Though the second season tanked, the two characters ended up being iconic. Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that Salman Khan too is all set to play a no nonsense Sikh Cop in director Mahesh Manjrekar’s upcoming gangster drama, Antim: The Final Truth, which stars Aayush Sharma as a Marathi Gangster.
“The cop being Sikh is the sole reason for Salman to do Antim, as he hasn’t done a character like this before. He is beefing up, increasing his beard as he will be seen playing a tough, intense and real Sikh cop, and wear the turban too. There are larger than life elements in the script, but this cop has his own swag, and style of functioning. It’s more like how a cop would be in real life, unlike his other cops which are more commercial and heroic,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.
Aayush Sharma on the other hand plays a young gangster and his character too displays a lot of traits as it’s an emotional journey. “It’s more like Salman’s version of a Sikh Cop and A Marathi Gangster minus the abuses and vulgar scenes of Sacred Games. He is attempting to make an intense gangster film this time around and trying to play a rather mature character that blends well with his age. However, his cop is more of a supporting character as the entire story revolves around brother in law, Aayush Sharma’s gangster,” the source further shared. The movie is the official adaptation of Marathi Hit, Mulshi Pattern. While in the original film, the cops character was more of an extended cameo of 25 minutes, we hear, this time around, the makers have tweaked the story to make it more like a character that runs parallel to Aayush Sharma's track with a runtime of around 50 minutes. However, the gangster continues to remain the central character, just like the original film, but cops role has been increased from an extended cameo to the second most important character of the film.
The industry however is a little taken aback by Salman’s decision to play a supporting role in a film featuring a rank new comer like Aayush Sharma. “Salman’s films have been all about Salman with little scope of the actress or supporting actors. It’s surprising to see him play a supporting role at a time when his stardom is at its peak and given the age, he is just a few more years away from taking up character roles. It’s very unlike Salman’s pattern of working. Maybe it’s an emotional decision taken by him for family, just the way he used to in the early days of his career. Let’s hope this doesn’t have an impact on his standing in the industry, is a one-off scenario and we get to see Salman play kick some butts and play solo to the gallery in his other films,” the insider shared.
The movie went on floors on Sunday with Aayush Sharma shooting a chase sequence on the streets of Pune. Salman is expected to join the cast from December first week.

Aayush Sharma To Be Seen As Army Major In His Upcoming Movie Titled ‘Kwatha’
Last year, Aayush Sharma has made debut through the movie called Love Yatri. Recently, Aayush has been in the news since he has decided to be a part of Mulshi Pattern remake in Hindi. The original has been a blockbuster Marathi movie. Now, it seems that Aayush has signed another movie. For this movie, Aayush has started to build his body. It is believed that the actor will be seen in a completely different look in this new movie. He has cut his hair short and developed a lean physique with muscle.
According to a source related to the movie, “Aayush has signed a film called Kwatha, which is an inspirational film revolving around a city in Manipur of the same name. It’s an action drama pumped with a lot of emotions, where the young actor will be playing Army Major. Kwatha is inspired from true events and will show how a few incidents change his character’s opinion and perspective on certain things. Karan Lalit Butani, who directed the 2018-film Phamous will be helming it.”
Being lead in the movie, Aayush is associated with the creative process also. It is said “When he heard the narration, he was sold into the film. He loved the script and immediately gave his nod. He worked on the film with the team for sometime, fine tuning it. This is a passion project for Aayush. The plan is to begin shooting for Kwatha around September this year, while Mulshi Pattern will now take some time to go on the floors. Kwatha will release sometime in 2020 and that will also be Aayush’s second Bollywood film.”

Next in line is a two-minute action and drama-packed trailer that director Mahesh Manjrekar is in the process of editing. It will be the first trailer of the film. Earlier this month, the Antim team released the first poster of the movie, where Salman plays an honest cop and Aayush, a gangster.
While it is still being decided whether the trailer will come out in the first or second week of October, the filmmaker adds that it will be followed by a song. “The two-minute trailer will have Salman, Aayush and some of the other characters and it will try to tell you a little bit about what the film is about. I am in the process of editing it. Post-production of Antim is on and we are also editing the trailer now. We released the song Vignaharta during the Ganpati season and it turned out to be a chartbuster. More than being catchy, the song is a hit because it has all the traditional elements of the Ganpati festival too which appeals to all.
”Salman is not known to be a director’s actor but someone who gets involved in each and every part of his movies – from the script to the music and marketing. “A good suggestion is always welcome. Yes, he is involved in the filmmaking process but in Antim I have tried to shred the Salman image in what he is usually seen as in all his earlier films. We have been friends for years, so he knows what I want. As far as the script is concerned, I had it ready before we shot. I had insisted that I want the film to be as I have written it. Where music and other aspects are concerned, I welcome his suggestions as he has a good ear for music.”
There’s talk that Salman is doing a special appearance in the film. Mahesh denies it emphatically, “It’s definitely not a special appearance as Salman is there throughout the film. If you see lengthwise, the character of Rama Shetty in Ardh Satya had just six scenes, but he was the main antagonist and unforgettable. We have these warped ideas of special appearances. What will you call Asrani and Samba in Sholay? You take these roles home with you. The characters make a film. Sunny Deol was hardly there in Damini but when people mention the film, they talk about his 'dhai kilo ka haath'.”
Mahesh's conviction in his project is high. The director says that Antim has “shaped up brilliantly and you will see Salman as you have never seen him before! This is the first time that I am working with him as a director, and he has done a fantastic job. Salman will surprise everybody with his performance. I am very happy with the film as the audience will feel after watching the movie that Salman is different and fantastic. Antim is a film right up my territory. It is an extremely realistic portrayal of a character (Aayush) who comes from the village and how he evolves into a larger-than-life person after certain incidents take place in his life.”
His next directorial, a Marathi crime thriller, Varan Bhat Loncha Ni Kon Nay Koncha, shot during the pandemic, is also ready for release at the theatres. “It’s a mind-blowing concept and one of the best films that I have ever made. It completes my trilogy – first Vaastav, followed by City Of Gold and now Varan Bhat Loncha Ni Kon Nay Koncha.”
