Bachelors and Having a Baby
I saw another hc blog do this and I wanna do my own take~
Sebastian --
Extremely shocked when you tell him you're pregnant, but would react with a blank face and "oh, huh. Interesting." It does not sink in for a few minutes to an hour, and then he's losing his fucking mind.
Never thought he would be a dad, and convinced himself he would be a bad one. Even if him and the farmer weren't using protection, it still blindsides him
He cuts back on freelance work to help more around the farm, especially in the last trimester. The farmer is NOT allowed to do anything more strenuous than play video games. He will prob call on Abigail and Sam to help, he's not exactly the most athletic guy in the world.
Despite his fears that he wouldn't do a good job, he certainly works to make sure they won't come true. Reads a lot of parenting books and talks to Robin a lot. Those talks heal a bit of the rift between them.
Robin jokes that she's too young to be a grandma, but Demetrius cries when he's given a World's Best Grandpa mug. Maru happily steps up as an aunt and will spoil the baby with custom made toys and a ton of STEM for baby books.
Abigail and Sam are the chaotic aunt and uncle I imagine Shane was to Jas. They will babysit (mostly Sam) but expect funny pictures and wacky situations.
Elliott --
He is overjoyed when you tell him the news. He's going to be a papa! Lots of hugs and swinging you around. He doesn't strike me as the type to seek parenthood, but would lovingly embrace it once given to him.
It doesn't hit him for a while that a baby is going to mean changing his lifestyle quite a bit. No more all nighters, he won't be able to write for hours and hours at a time anymore. He finds it worth changing that aspect of his life to adjust to this new addition, a physical manifestation of your love.
Starts to change his habits early on so he'll be better suited after the baby arrives. Fully supports when you go nest mode and will move the furniture around as much as you want.
Has had a list of names for years before you even meet him. And all of them are beautiful
Leah takes on an aunt type roll, and loves teaching the baby about art and colors.
Sam --
Panics hard at the announcement. It doesn't matter that you're married, he still feels like he's sixteen sometimes, and he's worried about getting in trouble
Jodi and Kent are overjoyed at becoming grandparents, and Vincent thinks it's cool he's going to be an uncle.
Abigail and Sebastian make fun of him for being so worried about it, and help him get ready mentally to be a dad. They may need to remind him how much he helped with Vincent.
Once he calms down and realizes his family isn't going to be mad and his friends will stick around, he's extremely excited. He helped make an entirely new person! Someone he can teach music to! Can you skateboard with a baby?
Happily becomes the stay at home dad and handles a lot of the childcare.
Absolutely writes banger after banger of goofy songs for his kid
Alex --
I think he would be the type that always wanted to be a dad, just to spite how bad his was. When you tell him he's going to be one, he's over the moon. One of the few times you ever see him cry is when you tell him about the pregnancy, and again when the baby arrives.
Immediately befriends all the moms in Pelican Town and joins their gossip groups so he can get their advice and help as you prep for the baby. They adore him. He's like their pet.
Gets into what-to-expect books and takes over farm chores basically as soon as you tell him. No, you don't need to be doing all of that. He's got it. Which, I do think he would be pretty involved on the farm. I don't think he's the type to slouch while his spouse does everything. You can trust that he'll do well.
Evelyn and George are shocked by the news. George especially didn't think they'd live long enough to see it. They both love the little one quite a bit, and despite George's general attitude, he only speaks sweetly to the baby.
Haley will absolutely bury you in baby outfits as gifts.
Harvey --
Probably the most panicked on the list. He's not an ob/gyn but he IS medically trained and knows how easily everything can go wrong.
This doesn't mean he isn't thrilled and amazed in equal measure. Sure, you knew it was a possibility, but... He's so happy. He always wanted to be a dad, and now it's happening! He gets very misty-eyed.
He starts taking over cooking to be sure you're getting all the nutrients you need. You will find snacks in your bag, all healthy.
He also wants you to cut back on the farmwork, maybe hire someone for a season or two to hold it down. He would take over if he could, but being the town's only doctor keeps him too occupied.
He will absolutely do every type of birthing partner class.
He also helps set up the birth plan. He handles your medical needs until the birth. The plan is to go to Zuzu City about when the baby is due, deliver in the big hospital where he can be by your side and let someone else be the doctor. This plan fails when you deliver early and he has to step up. Everything goes well.
Shane --
He never thought he would be a dad. He didn't think he was good enough to take in Jas, and for the longest time, he didn't think he was good enough to be involved enough to have a kid.
He's come so far since when you first met. He's still got his issues, but he has a healthy grasp on them anymore. He isn't filled with loathing when you tell him, but tears up and holds you close. He feels incredibly lucky to have someone that loves him enough to welcome a child from him.
He is excited to prep for the kid. He was around when Jas was born, so he still remembers a fair bit about the baby years.
Jas can't wait to be a big sister. She likes playing with Vincent, but it would be even better to have a brother or sister. Marnie tears up when you both tell her the news. She's already a great-aunt to Jas, but looks forward to welcoming your baby as well. If you call her Grannie she will melt.
Shane absolutely faints in the delivery room. Man thought he could handle it. He cannot.
He's a very attentive dad. He never, ever wants this part of him to feel like it's not loved or good enough.

Happy birthday to my favorite bookworm
Birthday headcannons
- Ellis Loves making jewelry aside from running the bookstore so for Ellis‘s birthday gem took them to an antique store because they knew that Ellis loved making rings out of really cool old spoons
- Gem made them a custom chess board
- Ellis’s grandma crocheted them, the coziest blanket
- Cyril got Ellis a personalized book embosser and And a set of bookish coffee mugs
- I feel like Ellis and gem like to communicate by writing in the books that they’re currently reading like they would have full conversations in the book margins. (I don’t know if this makes sense, but I feel like this is literally them.)
- Gem made ellis a scrapbook of their relationship
- Gem planned a Halloween movie night in the backyard with matching pj’s as a birthday date

Some of My Scrapped Punkflower Fics
Exactly what the title says, but I don't want to let these go to waste
Over Christmas break, Miles’ mom learns how to knit.
It stems from the fact that she doesn’t like having a lot of free time on her hands. But since school is out and his dad won’t let her spend more than forty-eight hours — or what she considers a break — at the hospital a week, there’s an abundance of it for all of them. Snow falls endlessly beyond the walls of their apartment, making for more than a couple long, lazy days spent inside, hands and weighted blankets curled around mugs and their shoulders. Old Christmas movies are the only thing on TV.
So. She digs around in their spare closet and emerges with two knitting needles. They’re from her grandma, she says, and Miles secretly reveres them — the blunt tips, the lengthy shafts, and the tapers with chips in the wood from before both of their times.
She lets him choose from the bundles of yarn three colors: orchid, yellow, and white.
The next morning, he wakes to a pair of finger-less gloves on his bedside table. The stitches are not entirely consistent, yet they’re warm and colorful.
He loves them, almost as much as he loves winter, and nowhere close to as much as he loves her.
“Any idea what this is about?”
Miles shrugs and shifts to make room for Gwen to sit on the carpet beside him. “No. Miguel didn’t tell you?”
“Nope.”
The topic settled for now, his eyes drift and land on two figures across the announcement hall, steadily coming forward. They’re somehow easy to pick out in the crowd.
Hobie shakes Pavitr by the shoulders, giggling, and something in Miles aches, just below the space between his ribs.
There’s a tapping, feedback, then a throat clearing. He turns back to look at the stage.
“Hello, everybody, and thank you for coming on such short notice. Rest assured, nothing is wrong,” Miguel starts. The room lets out a collective sigh of relief. “But the holiday season is coming up. Lyla and I — mostly her — thought it would be nice to do something special. All of the Society is welcome to participate, but it’s not mandatory.”
“He is a surprisingly level man when he’s not trying to body slam me into the nearest train,” Miles mutters. Someone huffs hotly in his ear.
“Good one,” Hobie says, dropping down on Miles’ other side.
Miguel continues. “For the first time ever, we will be doing Secret Santa. Shortly, you will fill out a wish list of gift ideas. Then, you will draw a random name from a box — their dimension and wish list will also be included. Presents will be delivered by me or Lyla. Afterwards, you can guess who your Secret Santa was. The ultimate deadline is Christmas day.”
A week away.
I bet you can guess who Miles got :] I also remember writing a section that I really loved where he asked his mom what his dad got her for Christmas when they were dating, and later, Gwen came over. She was having trouble getting Pavitr a gift. Miles suggested a plant to take care of, meanwhile, he was making a custom bright red leather jacket for Hobie
I cannot for the life of me find these sections

No More Night Shifts
Working retail during the Christmas time was one of the most stressful things anyone can do. From the hustle and bustle of living in the city, to getting to work early and leaving late at night, to the freezing weather of the Chicago winter. It took a lunatic to agree to pull double shifts.
That crazy person just so happened to be (Y/N).
Her boss had asked her to fill in for a colleague that had come down with a very bad cold and could not make it in for her night shift. In the spur of the moment, she had said yes. But as she walked, the cold wind nipping at her skin, her feet sliding on the icy pavement, she contemplated returning home.
(Y/N) hated working the night shift at the store she worked in. Customers were rude, management always expected her to stay overtime without pay, and for some reason, she always got into some sort of accident when she was going back home.
And just as she had thought, the shift was a nightmare. She filled up her bad customer bingo. Which went something like this:
Mister ‘It doesn’t scan so I guess it’s free.”
Miss ‘My coupon is expired, but I’m gonna try to use it.”
The ‘You don’t mind using your employee for me, right?’ person.
The family excursion troop.
The no receipts returners.
And the people that think you’re a personal shopper.
By the time three in the morning rolled around, (Y/N) wanted nothing more than to collapse on the floor. Her whole body was sore and her eyes were tired from sleep. She cursed past her for agreeing to pick up that night shift. She thought of being on her couch, a hot mug of tea in her hands, and bundled up with her thickest blanket with her boyfriend. She would be warm and comfortable, instead of absolutely miserable and cold.
But her daydreaming took a turn for the worst.
As she neared the bus stop, she didn’t notice the big puddle of sludge that had formed on the sidewalk. She slid on the pavement and her body collided with the frozen ground. One second she was walking and the other she was in the hospital.
***
In the Emergency Department of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, doctors and nurses were up to their necks with patients. With the weather going down, many people succumbed to the illnesses the cold temperatures brought. Cases of colds, flu, and pneumonia trickled in and out of the hospital at a fast pace. The ED was never empty.
“How’re we doing, Maggie?” Will Halstead asked the charge nurse of the department.
“Well, we keep filling beds as soon as one empties,” she sighed. “It looks like it’s gonna be a very long winter season. Although it looks like tonight might be slowing down. You going home yet?”
“I was just getting ready to do so,” he smiled tiredly. But the two were interrupted when the brick chirped. The doctor let out an exasperated sigh, knowing that his plans to finally lay down were just trampled. “Let me have it.”
“Incoming,” Maggie announced. “Trauma 1.”
“Talk to me,” Will told the paramedic as they walked in. That was before he took a good look at the patient. “What happened?”
“Unconscious female, visible ankle fracture. Witness said she slid on ice and fell to the ground. She’s been in an out of consciousness. We have stabilized the right ankle with a splint and there is no sign of a spinal injury. The ID in her bag says her name is (Y/N) (Y/LN).”
“I know,” he breathed. “She’s my girlfriend.”
They all entered the room, other staff following suit. Tension built into the space as everyone noticed who it was. If they didn’t know (Y/N) personally, they knew of her and her involvement with the ED’s attending physician.
“Alright everyone, on my count,” he told the paramedics and nurses that would help transfer the woman from the gurney onto the hospital bed. “One, two, three.”
They all took hold of (Y/N)’s body, careful not to disrupt her ankle or any other injury she might’ve had. Behind them, Nurse Doris rolled in the X-Ray machine, handing Will and April a lead apron before she instructed the rest of the staff to exit the room, as well as the paramedics.
“So, it looks like it’s a bimalleolar fracture,” the doctor announced as the image came up on the screen. “Thankfully, the ankle is not dislocated so immobilizing it with a cast should do the trick.”
“Alright, I’ll get the kit.”
“Okay, let’s also get a full blood workup, and a head CT,” Will told April. “Now, pupillary response is good. Heartbeat is steady. She’s breathing on her own which is a good sign. Let’s start an IV drip with 2.5 mg of morphine…”
“Wait, Will, look,” she said. “She’s waking up.”
(Y/N)’s eyes started fluttering open, the bright lights worsening the headache she already had. Her whole body felt mangled and sore, and she was sure it was not from the long day at work.
“Hey, welcome back,” a voice said. “Can you tell us your name and where you are?”
“(Y/N) (Y/L/N) and I’m in a hospital because god doesn’t exist.”
When she finally opened her eyes, she suddenly did not mind that she was in the hospital. Before her, she was met with a handsome red-haired doctor. He smiled at her and she could feel butterflies forming in her stomach.
But her pleasantly surprised feelings quickly shifted to ones of embarrassment, when she noticed who it was.
“He-ey, doctor,” she stammered. “Funny running into you here.”
“Good to see your sense of humor wasn’t impaired,” he chuckled brightly. “Now, do you remember what happened?”
“I was walking to the bus stop to go back home when I slipped on a puddle of sludgy ice and now I’m here.”
“Okay. And other than your ankle and your head, does anything else hurt?”
“My pride,” she grumbled. “I told you, the night shift is cursed.”
“It sounds to me that you were distracted and you fell,” he laughed. “I don’t think there is any curse.”
“Yet you all believe people turn crazy because of the full moon.”
“Well, your memory seems to be okay. So, I’m gonna leave you with April so she can get your bloodwork to the lab,” Will told (Y/N), a kind smile on his face. His initial panic subsided when she woke up and recognized who they both were.
“Can you stay?” (Y/N) pleaded softly.
“I promise to be gentle,” April chuckled. If there was one thing she knew about her friend it was how desperately afraid of needles she was. “I’ll draw your blood really quickly and then I’ll sneak in the IV. How does that sound?”
“Like you’re gonna still gonna stick me with needles.”
“At least the pain in your ankle is gonna stop,” Will offered. But (Y/N)’s fear was still evident on her face. “Alright, just focus on me, babe. It’ll be over before you know it.”
“Just don’t let go of my hand.”
April quickly got to work as Will distracted (Y/N) with mindless chatter of what they would do during Christmas – spend the day in pjs, drink hot chocolate in front of the fire, and exchange gifts even though they told each other not to get presents. And before she knew it, the IV dripping pain medication into her system has started doing its job.
“There,” April announced, calling the couple’s attention. “We’re all done. I’ll be back soon to take you to the CT scan – for precaution -- and to bring your results. I’ll bring by the kit in a bit.”
“Thanks, April.”
The nurse smiled back at the couple in response, closing the curtains on them as she exited.
“So, what’s the verdict, doc? Am I gonna lose my leg?”
“Nah, just 9 to 12 weeks with a cast. You’ll have to come in a coupled of times to do x-rays, just to make sure the bone’s healing as it should,” Will explained. “But don’t worry, we don’t have to amputate.”
“Well, no late-night shifts for me in a while,” she joked. “Maybe that’s what I needed to break the curse, huh?”
“What?” he laughed. “Slipping on ice and spending your morning in the ED?”
“Hey, at least the doctor is cute,” she said before she placed a kiss on his lips.
“I’m just glad you’re okay, baby. It was pretty scary to see you unconscious on a stretcher like that.”
“Oh, don’t you worry, Halstead. It would take a lot more to bring me down.”
“Alright, (Y/L/N). Settle down,” he smiled at her. Will had been terrified that something worse would have happened, but if a little slip is the worst that could happen, he could live with that. “Take this as a little Christmas gift – you won’t have to work for some time.”
“NO NIGHT SHIFTS!” (Y/N) exclaimed excitedly. “It’s a Christmas miracle!”

Hello Algy! ♡
For the Twst OC ask game you reblogged, can I ask Lysander:
How does your OC customize Ramshackle, if they do at all? How do they cope with the state it's in when they first arrive?
and
What are some mannerisms your OC has picked up from the people around them? (be it other (people's) OCs or Canon Characters)
Thank you!! ♡
HIIIII 💜 thank you for the ask!!!!
How does your OC customise Ramshackle, if at all? How do they cope with the state it's in when they first arrive?
at first Lysander was so happy that he can have a place to live, he didn't really care that it looks. well. like that. he was just kind of like. it is what it is
it was only a while later that it settled in for him that he'll have to take care of all the mess and he allowed himself like, five seconds of despair before getting to work. he's the type of person to feel grateful just for having something, so he usually doesn't complain and honestly he found all the cleaning and repairs kind of fun
he's put So many plants in here, some of the rooms look basically like a second garden. and he likes to buy a lot of random trinkets and decorations, so there's a lot of useless but pretty stuff everywhere. he's going for that Howl's room type of aesthetic.
(Grim sometimes accidentally knocks things over..... its fine.....)
the kitchen is the place he cares for the most and so it has the most furniture and decorations in it. he LOVES silly kitchen trinkets so much. and he has a whole collection of cute mugs (at some point every one of his friends who visit him has their favorite one) and a little herb garden on the windowsill
also all of his decor is very. vintage grandma core shfjdjf
What are some mannerisms your OC has picked up from the people around them?
Lysander tends to subconsciously copy other people's speech patterns a lot which can give off some funny results when he's talking in more Malleus-old-man manner and suddenly uses one of Epel's country-isms in the same sentence and everyone is just looking at him like ???? he's not especially good at languages but he definitely picked up some french from Rook too
also he picked up Cater's habit of giving people cutesy nicknames

my baby boy needs some recognition man
Hello! I'm so sorry for the very late reply but here u go!
Beautiful Stranger (Eric Derekson x reader)
This small shot is inspired by this song :3 Enjoy!
youtube
I was in my last semester of college. The amount of essays I needed to do was spinning my head, so I decided to go to the nearest cafe to chill my head a bit. Perhaps, a fresh latte would help me freshen up on this cloudy day.
Cling
The smell of coffee was tickling my nose, the smooth jazz from the speaker had already calmed me down, a tiny bit.
"An order for Merlin!" The barista shouted. There were only four customers there, but my eyes caught on this one man while reading a book and sipping his coffee. Round glasses with leaf patterned shirt. He looked… cute.
"Good afternoon, ma'am. Can I take your order?" the barista asked. That caught me off guard, and I put my attention back on the menu, even though I already knew what I was about to order. But, my mind was changed when I knew they had a special pastry on that day, it could go well with my latte.
"Good afternoon. I'll have a medium latte and the fallin' pumpkin pastry." I looked back at the man and he was smiling. My heart dropped when that happened, "I see. Would you like to have them here or to go? Also, a hot latte or cold latte? Would you add sugar too?"
God, I needed to pay attention. The man kept distracting me, "I… Uh… will have them here. Hot latte because it's pretty cold outside and no sugar, please."
"What's your name for the order?"
"Y/n." The barista tapped something on the screen while I tried to resist the feeling of looking at a certain someone, "I see, that'll be $6.75. How would you like to pay?"
"Cash, please." I opened my wallet and reached for my $10 bill, handing it to them. They smiled and gave me the changes.
"You may take a seat and we will call your name."
"Thank you so much." I turned my heels and tried to pick a seat out of many empty ones. Should I sit near him? He was sitting at the table facing the front window which was also one of my favorite spots in a cafe.
Fuck it. I walked towards an empty stool beside him, well, just one stool away from him, and sat down. When he lowered his book, I made eye contact with his brown eyes. My heart was beating faster than before but I tried to keep it cool. My lips formed a sweet smile as a way to greet but he didn't say anything but returned the smile, then continued reading his book.
My mind tried to overthink that quick moment, was the smile an uncomfortable one? It didn't seem like one. God, I should've taken the seat here. There were plenty of empty seats. And I-
"I… I like your cardigan. It's cute," …oh? =
Those two sentences stopped the overthinking. I smiled shyly, "Thank you. I… Well, it's homemade. I crocheted this myself. It's one of my hobbies." He looked in shock and impressed.
He put down the book and took another look at my cardigan, "Wo… Wow. Do you… Happen to sell them? I… I love some homemade sweaters," he replied.
I thought for a moment, I never really intended to sell my crotcheted stuff. Not many people appreciated it but my grandma, "I… I am not sure. Maybe, would you… like to be the first customer?"
"Yeah. I… I'd love to. You did great with your cardigan and I… I am willing to pay a high price for it."
I smiled, "Thank you. I appreciate that a lot."
"You're welcome." Then, there was silence. It wasn't an awkward one oddly, something about his presence near me was already lovely to me. A man that I just met a few minutes ago also seemed to enjoy it too, perhaps the atmosphere of the cafe could be the reason?
.
The silence lasted a minute later and I didn't feel awkward at all. No one of those coughing expressions. Just us, together.
"An order for Y/n?" That broke the silence together. I looked at him,
"I… I should grab those. Are you going to leave soon? I'd like to… Get to know you more." The empty mug of what it used to be coffee usually meant he was leaving. It saddened me honestly.
"Unfortunately, I do. I'm so sorry. I'd like to get to know you too. My… Friends needed me."
"I see. Well… Uh… It was nice talking with you," I said.
He smiled and grabbed his book, "It… It was nice talking with you too. Have a… a nice day." I watched him leave in front of me. My heart ached, I got up from my seat and went to grab my order. The pastry looked tasty, wait… Shoot, I forgot to ask his name and he already left with his car!
.
btw support my work by sending me kofi ;3

Back from another trip and HOO BOY I brought back a few things! To start with though, here are JUST the things I got with my partner after visiting their local flea market and a few goodwills.
Most of this was from just three bags at one Goodwill that seemingly all came from one household getting rid of a bunch of stuff. In total they were only a bit over 20 bucks, but my partner found enough Monster High parts to be worth that much alone, let alone my picks of the lot and the other unwanted items (they work with kids, so they'll find another happy home sooner or later!)
Highlights I pulled from just this set of bags include:
IRL Minecraft Bow (no arrows)
A (recently tested functional) Bop It
A 2012 TMNT RC kart and controller (currently non-functional, may require new batteries)
A couple of clay art projects, one of which is a small turtle with a familiar blue mask painted on, and the other is a dinosaur with a shifting color light that shines through
The Shovel Knight Arby's DLC stickers (yes, a real thing that happened. Soon to be redundant thanks to DX, but oh well)
A ceramic cat statue I gave to my grandma on the way back home, which she tenderly placed alongside similar items in one of those glass cases for small things that grandmas naturally acquire
A frog valentine's day solar powered dancing guy. My mom loves those dancing guys but hates frogs so she had mixed feelings about this gift.
And the holy grail item, a 6 inch collector edition Classic Sonic figure, including display base and nearly all of his original accessories, save for a single splayed hand. This was what got us to buy the bags, as I figured the base would be a useful addition to my Sonic figure display, and we also spotted only the head in another bag. This guy alone would go for 35-150 USD depending on condition, and while mine has got some rough spots, it's still the highlight piece of the find by far.
Individually purchased items from the Goodwills include:
Jimmy Neutron for 2 bucks. Good movie, shocked I only just now got it.
Splatoon 1 for 5 bucks. Preserving the single player and local modes are enough for me, but potential Pretendo workarounds mean I could still effectively have the whole game. Probably sold my original copy for at least 5 bucks in store credit anyways.
Shrek Mug. "Shrug" for short. 5 bucks. Enough said.
Webkinz Bullfrog for 3 bucks. I've had the small version for ages as one of my most beloved childhood toys, so getting the full sized lad was cathartic. Here they now sit together in my plush collection, brothers united.
Items from the flea market include:
Symmetra funko for 4 bucks. No turret, predictably, but it'll do until I give her a custom real figure later.
Raddinyan yokai watch mini statue. 2 bucks. My first Yokai Watch merch I guess?
3-in-1 dog lego set for 7 bucks. Love the lady I get these legos cheap from, she just plays with some sets partway before deciding to sell them for cheap. Especially nice when we found the same set at target later for 20-30 bucks.
Diddy Kong Racing lunchbox for 2 bucks. Felt like a neat enough thing even if not something I wanted too badly. Apparently it goes for 30 bucks online if I wanna flip it?
And that's not even all I brought home, but the rest will be highlighted in its own post.

a $20 for Your Thoughts: Entry 5.
The squeal of the brakes of Vesper’s shitty-ass 2002 Ford Focus echoed into the Waffle House itself as they pulled into the parking lot. They sighed as they leaned forward to rest their forehead on the steering wheel as they muttered, “It’s only six hours, then you can go home. What are the chances of those damn freaks showing up anyways? It’ll be fine.” They took a moment more before getting out of their car and kicking the door closed to make sure it stayed, then locked the door. Vesper ran their fingers through their dyed blue hair, feeling the ends of it settle against their neck. They pulled open the front door, preparing for Baylen’s frustration at their tardiness. He had his arms crossed and just pointed to the table he had already seated for them. They nodded, “Sorry, my car wouldn’t fuckin’ start.” “...right.” He rolled his eyes in response and just headed into the back. Vesper went to put on their apron before heading out to the table where two people were seated. One of the two was a taller man, dressed in all black including his gloves. The only colored parts of his entire outfit were the blue medical mask and the blue mirrored sunglasses he was wearing to obscure his face. The hood of his jacket was pulled up to cast a shadow over his face as well, adding to his anonymity. The other person was a stark contrast to him; a young woman dressed in a neon purple and black striped long-sleeve shirt with a graphic tee layered over it, a purple ruffled skirt, ripped fishnets, and converse. Her hair was cut into a classic 2000s scene shag, complete with streaks of neon purple and raccoon tails. Vesper was completely unphased as they looked at the pair and started their spiel in an exhausted monotone, “Hi, welcome to Waffle House. My name is Vesper, I’ll be your server today. Can I start you off with some drinks?”
“Shirley temple.” The woman stated as she looked Vesper up and down. They could tell they were being judged for their choice of outfit; black cargo pants and a graphic t-shirt so faded that it was entirely illegible. “And a chocolate chip waffle, but I don’t wanna have to wait 10 years, grandma.” Vesper took a deep breath to avoid cussing her out, “Right away. What can I get for you, sir?” They asked as they turned towards the man. He just remained silent, simply pointing to the black coffee, then the cheesesteak omelet. They nodded and wrote both orders down, “I’ll be right out with the drinks.” They made their way to the back to give Alex the orders and fetch the drinks, pausing in front of the walk-in. “What…?” Their question died on their tongue as they stared at the bullet holes and gashes throughout the metal. Baylen didn’t even respond to them, too focused on repairing the damage that she’d clearly caused. “Baylen? What the hell happened here?” “Wombat got in.” He replied simply as he continued to work on the repairs.
“Oooookay...” They went to give Alex the food and drink orders, pouring the black coffee themself to help. “It’s the scene chick and the creep that hides his face and barely speaks.”
The cook just nodded and said, “Food’ll be done in about 20.” Vesper nodded and took the drinks out to the two customers, “Alright, black coffee and Shirley Temple,” they told the two as they set them down in front of each of them. The man kept his silence and lifted the medical mask just enough to expose his mouth and take a sip of the coffee. His skin was a deathly gray, and as he opened his mouth, Vesper could see a row of razor-sharp teeth for just a moment before his lips closed over the edge of the mug.
“How long ‘til the food’s ready?” The scene girl asked as she used her tongue to guide the straw to her mouth.
“The chef said it’ll be about 20 minutes,” Vesper replied as they shifted on their feet a little.
“‘Kay.” She replied before turning back towards the man. Vesper nodded as they walked off to start cleaning empty tables while they waited for the food. Once it was ready, they brought it out to the two, getting a smile from the woman. When the two eventually finished their meal and left, Vesper found a $20 tip on the table for them. “Huh, I wasn’t expecting that. Guess they’re not that bad.” They muttered as they started cleaning up the table.
The rest of their shift went by quietly, until the last 30 minutes. Vesper had gone to the back to help Alex finish up when their head suddenly started throbbing with pain. A splitting headache appeared behind their eyes as static started to haze around the edges of their vision. They scrambled towards the sink and braced themself on the edge of it before throwing up into it.
“You’re going home. Now,” Baylen told them as he approached. “Leave your car, it’ll be fine. I’ll clean this up, Alex start closing up, we’re just calling it here.”
Vesper slowly sank to the floor as they clutched their skull, trying to will the sudden migraine to disappear as the other two finished everything up for the night.

Hi syd!! ily and I hope you are having a great day! 💕💕💕💕
Ps. How does Jesse end up working with Sheila and how do Baby and Sheila get along?
hi leighanne i adore u!!!! ive been having a nice lazy day and it has been sick as hell 💕
so!! for the first couple of weeks in alaska, jesse basically doesnt leave his new place (ed left him a cache of supplies) for a lot of reasons and only very reluctantly goes into town for the first time because he's out of stuff. he stops off for groceries, then cigarettes from the general store and is walking back to his car when he sees a woman trying to get a chest of drawers through the door of one of the shops on the main street. she looks at him and says "you. come help me with this." jesse obliges because there's no way to run from this now and assists her in getting the chest un-stuck and into the shop.
it's a furniture shop, a sort of hybrid of antique store, restoration and repair place, and custom production store. he's kind of stunned: honestly, he didnt expect there to be anything in this town. then again, he doesnt know Anything about this place or even alaska at large. sheila immediately starts talking his ear off upon realizing that she's never seen him before, excited as hell to have another person to meet and know. jesse obviously doesnt tell her much and is initially dying to get tf out of there, but sheila is chummily determined to rope him into town. she makes them both some coffee (without being asked. she just makes it and gives him a mug and asks if he wants creamer or anything. it's so weird but it makes staying a little easier) and starts telling him about haines, where he can go for this and that, how things work here, has he settled in alright?? does he have a job?? jesse is like. "Um." because he hasn't been thinking that far (he truly can only think one day at a time rn) but he'll definitely need one. sheila immediately pounces on him and says that since she's added custom production to her shop, she's had trouble taking care of Everything by herself and has been thinking about hiring someone to work the store and help her with coordination and other tasks. he sheepishly admits that he actually kind of likes carpentry and building stuff and sheila basically HOWLS and is like "fate put u on my sidewalk, son!! they call this a miracle. oh, we're gonna be BEST friends. hold on, i have some cookies in my office, we need cookies—" even if this wasnt the kind of work he wanted to go into, sheila wouldn't have really given him a choice, but he kind of needs that direction and guidance right now
and sheila was made in a laboratory to be an aunt or a grandma. she and her wife bea don't have kids, but bea comes from a big family and has lots of nieces and nephews that sheila lives to spoil. she's aware of baby since demi's practice is down the street, but once she gets to know demi and baby a little better, sheila decides that she's going to be that kid's honorary aunt. sheila thinks baby is a hoot and wants to give her all the confidence and pride and security in the world (tbh sheila sort of believes that Everyone should act like Sheila). baby's never going to act like that, but it is good for her to have an adult around who is extremely self-confident and assertive to learn those traits from. for all of her brashness, sheila is extremely generous and very sweet to the whole family, but she loves to roll up to the function with a gift for baby and a "im gonna take this little sweet pea home with me" threat before she leaves the function. she loves that kid

The Pastel Ladies - A Delightful Duplex by Harlequin Eyes
I built this duplex a few years ago, inspired by a house I drive by occasionally. In my mind the homes are occupied by two elderly sisters. Each side has a living room, kitchen, half bathroom, full bathroom, main bedroom, secondary bedroom/study/bonus room, small back yard, and a tiny front porch off the main bedroom where the sisters sit and chat over tea and coffee. It's definitely got a lot of "cool grandma" energy but you can make it over however you want.
This has been in my game for a while, and I've modified it slightly to work with the upcoming Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack. More pictures under the cut!
