So I guess over the holidays, my shitty ex DM’d my mom on social media (she’d been offline for like two months bc of hospitalization), and was like “Just thought you should hear it from me before anyone else but…I’m getting married.”

And my mom tells me this, laughing, wondering why the fuck he thinks she cares. Like, we’ve been broken up for almost a decade and this is the same man that, after we split up, sent my parents what amounted to a manifesto because he was so irrationally upset over everything. I’ve had him blocked on every platform since we separated households and have never once considered contacting him or his family to let them know what’s up in my life.

But here he is, either assuming I still stalk his social media and am distraught over his impending marriage, or hoping that I will become distraught when my mom breaks the news to me.

I guess considering the housing crisis and high cost of living, I’m lucky to still live rent-free in this motherfucker’s head.
