It just occurred to me that a big part of why Jim Carrey's turn as Dr. Robotnik has been received as a fresh take on the character without much commentary on the fact that he's lazily recycling his persona from literally every film he did in the mid 1990s is probably because most of the audience is too young to have seen Ace Ventura.

Oh yes, the 124 year old wizard of oz just your basic summer reading. Look there's millions of books, tv shows, games, and movies. I haven't exactly had a realistic amount of time to do it all . So maybe just don't post spoilers for new shows based on old movies based on old books? Just tag what it's a spoiler of at least for common courtesys sake.

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.
