Moto G5 Plus Review: Quality Does Come Cheap

Everyone wants the best for their money’s worth and the Moto G5 Plus perfectly fits that description. The latest handset from Lenovo is packed with some quality features at a relatively cheap price which makes it one of the more popular smartphones right now.

Motorola has long been known for making affordable devices and the Moto G5 Plus continues that tradition. At $229 (32GB) and $299 (64GB), the Moto G5 Plus is certainly one smartphone that bargain hunters should take a close look at.

Design

The look of the G5 Plus improved drastically from its predecessor. From an already impressive-looking plastic back, the new Moto device comes with a chic metal body with smooth matte finish. It still comes with rather large bezels and a splashproof display which has a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.

Performance

Out of the box, the G5 Plus comes with Android 7.0 Nougat along with Google Assistant. It is powered by Qualcomm’s 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 and comes with 32 or 64GB of RAM. It has either 2GB or 4GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB.

CNET described the Swipe to Shrink feature as “addictively convenient”. It allows the user to swipe the display with the thumb similar to how a windshield wiper moves. The motion reduces the size of the screen to allow easy access to the top. The One Button Nav software can transform the fingerprint sensor to a small track pad. The Twist to Quick Capture feature in which the user can double twist the wrist to open the camera, has been retained.

Camera

One of the issues Ars Technica has with the Moto G5 Plus is its camera. Lenovo downgraded the rear camera from the G4’s 16MP to 12MP. Despite the lack of megapixels, the camera supposedly has the same camera sensor used in the Samsung Galaxy S7 which is a good thing. Also, the camera is capable of recording 4K video. The 5MP front camera comes with a wide angle.

Issues

Aside from the downgraded camera, other probable issues that some users may have with the G5 Plus are the lack of NFC in devices in the United States. The Moto G5 Plus also does not support for Moto Mods and uses an irremovable 3000mAh battery while the built-in speakers make the audio sound thin and metallic. Despite these concerns, the Moto G5 Plus still pack a wallop especially for its price. In other words, quality does come cheap. Source: itechpost

You can really only watch anything on it when it’s pitch black out.

Sure, if you have a big-screen TV, it may not be too useful, but it can make movie night fun. People make fun of Lenovo’s obsession with projectors – the company puts them in tablets, too – but it was fun to watch a handful of Bloodline episodes projected on my bedroom wall. Sadly, the resolution is a mere 854 x 480 pixels, and it’s not very bright (50 lumens), but considering its size and portability, it’s a decent projector.Thanks to the 1,100mAh battery inside the Projector Mod, you can watch an entire 2-hour movie on it before you’ll run low on juice. If it’s a bit off, you can adjust it with a focusing wheel. The projected image automatically straightens and focuses, so you shouldn’t get a crooked or blurry image. It doesn’t add too much bulk to the slim Moto Z, and it has an adjustable kickstand, so you can get the angle just right.

Our other favorite Moto Mod is the quirky Moto Insta-Share Projector, which lets you turn any wall into a 70-inch screen. Still, the idea is almost like walking round with a phone built out of Legos, what with all those small pieces, and tech geeks are sad you can’t change the processor or RAM. Project Ara doesn’t even exist yet, but it at least makes sense with easy-to-add modules that you can change without turning your device off. It’s not user friendly at all, and there are exactly two modules you can buy right now, neither of which is great. LG’s G5 makes you press a button, eject the bottom of the phone, wrench the battery pack from its grasp, and reinsert it in a new module before rebooting your entire device. So far, everyone has been doing it wrong. Tech geeks are enamored with the idea of customizing their smartphones with modules that they can swap in and out at will. Ironically, it was Motorola who started the whole concept with Project Ara, its modular smartphone concept, which was taken over by Google. We’ve noted all differences and our preference in this review. Go to your story.

After tapping “More”on your story, you will see a list of options.

Under the Save option, choose the Save Photo or Save Video for saving individual photos or videos.

It is also possible to download the entire story by clicking on the Save Story option.

Launch your Instagram app.

Under the Settings icon. The Story Settings page appears.

Under the Saving section, choose the Save to camera Roll or Save story to archive or Save live to archive option based on your preferences.

Now, stories will be saved in the archived section or camera folder each time you post a story.

The Download button can be pressed before posting your story to save the images or videos to your camera roll.

In the Instagram app, go to your story.

After tapping on “More” in your story, a list of options appear.

Under the Save option, choose the Save Photo or Save Video for saving individual photos or videos. 

NOTE: In this, we see the Save Photo option as a photo is put up on the story.

The option to save the entire story to the device is unavailable.

How to download Instagram story after 24 hours on a Samsung M30 device

Launch your Instagram app.

Under the Settings icon, the Story Settings option will appear.
