one reblog of my post had 'who hurt you mim' to which I was curious who thought they had the right to nickname me, leading me to apples' blog because of course they did, and wow. there's actually people talking about me. behind my back??? that's hilarious.
love to see people missing the point on my rwde criticism, though. it's Weird when a primarily male writing team decides to give all the women characters Huge Bazongas and revealing clothes. Kind of objectifying, with the fact every woman character has to look Cutesy and have those Big Eyes and High Heels but the men don't get the same treatment. Kinda weird, kinda weird. Also, J*une is a little pissbaby boy. Little weenie of a man.
Funny how someone acted like I was saying that women with big boobs can't be lesbians though lmao I AM a big-boobed lesbian and I deal with all the problems
But apparently I'm stuck here explaining misogyny and sexism to people as old as me or older. (Note: this isn't about you, anon, I really don't mind genuine questions. it's just about people not understanding the problem of the Castaspella Situation.)
Anyways, as always, you only get Mimmy/Mim rights if you're my follower. Everyone else can refer to me only as Marahope CEO, Op, The True Writer of SPOP, The Only Real Castaspella Stan or Mimdecisive.

warning: long ass text ahead, sorry💦
Imo Azula is a very misunderstood character because she wasn't given enough screentime to let us see things from her perspective. Like we got many flashbacks of Zuko's childhood, banishment and generally Zuko reveived a lot of screentime to make him relatable and understandable. He quickly became a main character with whose growth and pain we could empathize more and more over time. I'm not saying Azula was supposed to have the same amount of screentime and immediately given her own arc, but because we got very few... IDK moments showing why she became the way she became, a lot of people don't understand her position at all and call her "pure evil" or crazy or "psycho", which people frequently call something they don't understand. We should have gotten to see how she was groomed and brainashed and crushed by expectations from an early age, how her life never was hers in the first place and so on. Azula is like the most complex character and deserved so much more scenes. (we did get the beach episode tho)
Mental illness is not always something that can be understood at once by adults, let alone by children. So a lot of people don't even want to put effort into trying to understand Azula and just stick to Iroh's famous line "No. She's crazy and she needs to go down". And as you know, Iroh is considered a saint, "wisest, kindest" character in the fandom who can do no wrong. We also should have gotten to see more of Iroh before the loss of his son, how he was just as brainwashed and molded to be cruel by the indoctrination so that people could understand that he's also flawed. He, too, was like Azula once. No one is perfect, there os no 100% source of reliable info. But sadly in the show we got only one flashback of him joking about burning Ba Sing Se to the ground and hey maybe that was enough to show the past Iroh, but personally I think we should have seen more of that side of him. If he... had just told Zuko something more of a "I know. But right now, she's a foe. We need to stop Ozai first, and then we can help her" sentiment, I guarantee you, more than a quater of the fandom would be more lenient and tolerant toward Azula. It's so easy to manipulate people's opinions sometimes. All it takes is their favorite character stating something and they just go along with it without even questioning if they really agree with it or not. Though. this is not to say that people should/have to like Azula. Not at all. People have the right to feel however they want to feel about practically anything.
But I GENUINELY asked myself "Why should I feel sorry for her?" and her character confused me asf the first time I watched atla. She loves Zuko but at the same time doesn't hestitate to generate lightning at him that could instantly kill him, mocks him with "Dad's going to kill you~". And her smiling at the sight of Ozai permanently disfiguring his own son's face without even knowing if he'll survive, etc. I even goggled "why is Azula so mean/evil" the first time I watched it lol... because she seemed so different from Zuko to me. Those things are what kept me from thinking that Azula does indeed love her brother, just in her own twisted way. Btw Zuko's love for Azula is also complicated. And yet, Azula offered Zuko a chance to go home, she offered it, didn't force him and even gave him time to think if he truly wants it. She lied to her father, the person she fears the most, thus jeapordizing her title and life all to bring Zuko back home and make him the hero of the country. Later in season 3 she showcased more affection to him. And so the first time I watched her offer that chance to Zuko, I thought she was manipulating him to capture/kill him like she did in "The Avatar State" episode. But when that turned out to be truth, I was bewildered. Like "what? she wasn't lying?? but girl didn't you try to execute him earlier this season? and smiled at his face getting roasted? since when did you start caring about him so much so quickly?" Either I really am inattentive and the only person in the world who got that reaction, or Azula indeed should have shared more moments with Zuko back in season 1 and 2 to not be so surprised and make it seem out of character that she indeed, loves him.
That's how ignorant I was until I started to read your and other people's atla metas that gave me a better understanding of why Azula acts the way she does (tysm). And stopped disregarding small moments and payed more attention to the little details that give more food for thought about Azula's dynamic character. But IMO, these moments shouldn't be small. They should have expanded the way Azula's whole worldview was warped due to lierally no one loving her unconditionally. That is the main reason why Azula started acting the way she did... I think. Orrr Azula's really good at hiding her true feelings and insecurities and that's why I couldn't understand her.
Ursa was the first and main reason why Azula didn't trust anyone since she was just a child. Emotional belonging is the basic psychological foundation for the natural development of a child's personality. Maternal deprivation is associated with a deviation in mental development, there is an emotional coldness and a distorted perception of the world as a whole, a huge undermining trust in it. The more stubbornly an adult does not want to change the system of relations with a child, the more likely it is that temporary violations of the child's behavior will develop into stable forms of maladaptation. And yet Azula loved Ursa. If she never did, it wouldn't have hurt her so much. Azula loved her as much as she could even comprehend what love even means. No one hugged her near the pond of turtleducks, no one told her "Azula, please, my love, listen to me. Everything I've done, I've done to protect you." The perks of parental unconditional love were only displayed to Zuko, even from one party but still he had Iroh in his life to show him that he is enough, he will always be enough for who he is, and then the scource of gaang's emotional support, forgiveness, true friendship and acceptance. Though he did have to prove himself trustworthy to the gaang but yet again, he worked their trust, not for their love. There's a difining difference between having to prove that you're trustworhy after being one's enemy for a long time and having to constantly, regurarly show someone (who was supposed to love you unconditionally from the moment you were born) that you're worthy of being loved, being accepted just for who you are. I suck at explaining but I hope you get it.
And yet Azula loved Ursa! I think this is akin to how children from unfavorable families who are placed in orphanages still run away to their parents. Because there are no children who are born bad, there are children who feel bad. Because a mother for any child is a mother.
Jeez, I've never written so much. Hope you're still here. Please share what you agree/disagree with me on. Thank you and have a lovely day.
***
Holy shit that was so good!
You're 100% correct about how the small moments of Azula showing humanity should not have been small, especially considering how the writers treated Zuko. The fact that she is also introduced as an antagonist to him, aka the character audiences were already attached to, also didn't help - and neither did "Saint" Iroh.

USO Girl?
Halloween!Steve x Halloween!female!reader
Summary: Steve and reader meet at a Stark Industries halloween party, but the reader is dressed up as a USO girl. 🇺🇸
Warnings: None really, just a terrible title.
Request from: @lighterthanstardust (technical difficulties with tagging at the moment)
Putting on the last few touches of your red lipstick, your phone dings.
Nat: Are you still coming? I wanna introduce you to some people :)
Y/N: On my way
Natasha had been begging you to come to Stark's Halloween party for the past month, you kept saying no because you're content with your little tradition of buying candy, curling up and watching horror movies every Halloween. But Natasha was persistent, and adamant about you going. She would come to your workplace at shield, whether you were training, taking a call, or welcoming a new recruit, and bother you until you gave in.
You were pretty sure the reason she wanted you at the party was so she could introduce you to her co-workers? Friends? Family? Whatever she called them, you've heard her refer to them as many different things over the years. And well, you guessed correct based off the text.
Shutting your door and walking out of your apartment complex, you could hear your silver kitten heels click clacking on the cement ground. Getting into your car and checking the adress off the piece of paper Natasha gave you, you turn on the ignition and speed off.
Pulling into the parking lot of a very tall building, that you assume is Stark Tower, you see a red headed figure standing out front.
As you park your car and get out, Natasha starts walking towards you. Pulling you in for a hug and letting go, she takes a good once over of your USO girl costume.
"Damn, 'might as well take you home tonight girl!" She says as she twirls you around.
"Thanks but look at you, Kim Possible!"
Natasha hooks her left arm with your right arm, as you both start walking towards the entrance.
"What are supposed to be anyway?"
"A USO girl, it was a last minute idea because I didn't have a costume. Had to rumage through my grandmother's closet." You answer.
"Hm, it's cute."
As you enter the building she leads you to an elevator, and punches the button that says: 17th floor. When the elevator stops, and opens you notice there's not as many people as you thought there would be. It seems to be more of a small get together for Halloween. To the right there's a group of five people, and Maria Hill whom you've talked to a good amount of times already, all sitting on white couches. There's about two handfuls of some other people scattered here and there, dress in different costumes.
"Tasha' where is everyone?" You whisper shouted as she led you to her friends, The Avengers.
"This is everyone, Y/N"
When Natasha and you reached the group she stopped in front of everyone and introduced you to them.
"Guys, this is Y/N, she works for shield."
"Hey!"
"Hello."
"Nice to finally meet you!"
"So you're the girl Nat keeps talking 'bout, eh?"
You knew who they all where so you didn't bother asking for names, instead you just said your "hi's" back and settled on the couch by Nat.
"Where's Steve?" Nat asked,
"The mans is old as dirt, he's probably just walking to slow. He'll be here eventually." As Sam says this he moves his eyes to you and asks,
"So what's up with the costume?"
"Sam reall-" Maria starts to say but you interrupt.
"Ha ha, it's okay Maria. I'm a USO girl, I didn't have a costume and it was a last minute idea, I had it on hand."
"Be careful, Y/N, gonna give Capsicle a stroke there."
They all chuckle at Tony's joke,
"Capsicle?"
"Just ignore Tony" Natasha says rolling her eyes and shaking her head.
After about an hour of conversation, and Halloween music playing in the background, you volunteer to get the second round of beer from Tony's bar. But Bruce stops you,
"Oh, you don't have to get them. Sit down I'll get it."
Not stopping and ignoring his offer you say,
"It's fine, I can get them."
He smiles warmly at you as you get up to go to the bar.
When you open the small refigerator door, you grab six beers including one for yourself. When you close the door and start to exist the bar you crash right into someone's hard chest.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, i wasn't lookin-"
You cut your self off looking up. Completely mesmerized by the man in front of you. Steve Rogers. You knew he was attractive, but you didn't know he was this attractive.
Chuckling Steve tells you, "It's okay."
He looks down at the beers in your arms,
"Let me grab one for myself, then I'll help you carry those over there."
Waiting for him to grab one, he walks back to you, takes three cans from you, and taps the small of your back to signal you to start walking, sending a shiver down your back.
"So, a USO girl, eh?" Steve asked.
"Oh, yup, didn't have a costume."
"So then what's that?"
"My grandmother's"
Realizing what you said you just said you look at him with wide eyes.
"I am so sorry, I didn't mean to call you old."
Steve lets put a louder laugh causing everyone to watch both of you as you and him make your over to them.
"So, I see you've already met Steve." Nat says with her eyebrows raised.
Knowing what she's suggesting you roll your eyes and say,
"Yes, I have."
"So, I guess I was right. You did give him a stroke."
Everyone starts chuckling at Tony's joke while Steve shakes his head with a goofy smile on his face, looking down at his shoes.
"Hm?" You ask after taking a sip of your beer.
"Well the loud crash?"
"Oh! No, that was me dropping all the beer."
Everyone is moving onto different conversations but you an Steve keep talking. Asking eachother question after question, inventively listening to one another.
Nat was watching both of you out of the corner of her eye.
"So where's the costume old man?!" Sam says, sorta struggling to keep his eyelids open.
"Didn't know we were dressing up." Steve answers with a shrug.
"What?!? No way. Absolutely not. Who doesn't dress up for Halloween?"
"Apparently, Capsicle."
Jerking his head toward Tony he points at him saying,
"Hey! Who're you to talk Stark, you're not dressed up either."
"When you're Tony Stark, Rogers, you don't need a costume to be cool" Tony argues in his defense, flicking off some imaginary dust from his suit.
Everyone keeps talking, drinking, occasionally dancing, and getting drunker and drunker. But Steve has the inconveniency of not being able to get drunk, and you're so caught up in his baby blues that you completely forget you were drinking.
You're definitely drunk, but not from alcohol. You're drunk off of his seafoam eyes, his charm, his kindess, his authority, his every detail.
When two a.m rolls around, and everyone is drunk of thier asses they start heading up to a couple of floors higher, most likely to whatever rooms were up there to get some sleep, already dreading the morning after.
Since you and Steve were sober, well you were more sober than the rest, You and him stayed behind to clean up empty bottles, empty beer cans, and fallen decorations.
You pickup some beer cans to go to the bar and throw them away but when you come back, Steve asks you,
"Would it be wierd if I asked you out?"
"No, no it would not be wierd"
You're both smiling at eachother, Steve is holding orange, black and purple streamers in one hand, while your holding a beer bottle.
Next thing you know he's dropping the streamers, and walking to you.
He kisses you. Lips on lips. Moving so perfectly in sync. It's igniting, it's new, it's exciting, and brilliant. So brilliant that you drop the beer bottle to lay your hands on the nape of his neck, but the bottle has other plans. It crashes to the floor and shatters, causing you and Steve to pull away from eachother and chuckle.
As you both bend down to pick up the shattered peices he grabs your hand, and tilts you head up to look at him.
"So, will you go on date with me?"
"It would be crazy of me to say no, Steve"

Since Toast uploaded the 7k IQ video which is the start of the Lud-Syk trolling duo, more peeps are getting interested about the incident again and I have a lot of thoughts.
I personally believe the most annoying thing about the whole Sykkuno incident a few days ago is that SOME people are like:
"Oh, Corpse would've made sure he was okay" or "Corpse would've done a better job at protecting/defending him"
and some of these people are the same that hate and blame Valkyrae and Toast for what happened. Emphasis on some since most people just want to show their appreciation to Sykkuno and try to comfort him in their own fan way.
Really fucking irks me how they romanticize and make Corpse and Sykkuno seem so much closer than they actually are. There are many friendships like this so I'm used to the life cycle but that doesn't mean it doesn't piss me off everytime.
(Hey remember when Septiplier was at its peak and people pushed away Bob and Wade despite being literal friends with Mark for years prior to YT. Or when Ethan and Tyler first hopped on board[specifically Ethan] and when the trio would play with a 4th person that isn't Jack they would just go apeshit)
I am also not joking or taking it too far but this kind of thinking really pisses me off
You know what Corpse would've done? He would've been the same as Lud. Lud and Corpse are just new friends. There are still walls and boundaries that they have yet to pass and they really can't do more than what Lud has done. I am a shipper, it is in my username. I live off of the idea of romance. But to drag a real life person that a lot of people romantically ship with in a VERY personal situation (personal enough that Syk would not even tell anyone on stream his problems) is not cool.
The playful yelling was the tipping point. It wasn't the cause. Rae and Toast are both known for their tough love to Sykkuno.
Like look, in those series of events, Ludwig was the most outwardly protective person of Sykkuno in the last game. That was pretty much all he could do due to his limitations and I'm sure Sykkuno really appreciated that. He was body guarding Sykkuno, stood up and talked for him when he was clearly sad, choked up even. Until his character's dying breath. He stood by his side. More like when the lights turned off but you get it. It was sweet, it was nice, he really tried his best (and I love him for it).
The thing is though Ludwig wasn't the only one who tried to help Sykkuno that round. Valkyrae who is known to love killing Sykkuno (for the memes) killed the other 2 people and fessed up for her crimes. One is because she was caught in the act of killing in the 1st meeting by Toast and two, upon realizing that Sykkuno was dead in the 2nd meeting she felt guilty and just admitted to the murder. She wanted to speedrun so Sykkuno could play again sooner. Right after, Toast calls button and gets to avenge Sykkuno by voting out the other impostor, his killer, Tubbo. Toast didn't even get to explain why Tubbo is the killer, he just made him fess up. To say they remotely didn't care is really fucking pissing me off.
BTW I watched Lud and Toast's streams for this specific match and I will say this, Toast had nothing to go off to know for sure that Sykkuno was sad. Him and Rae were trolling back and most likely didn't know how bad Sykkuno's day was. He doesn't read the comments on his live so when he was trying to find Sykkuno in the 1st round, with Rae (for the most part) that says a lot about how much he knows what Syk was feeling at the time with what little info he had. After pressing answers for him in the 1st meeting he just stopped and pretty much figured out what was happening.
Now another thing. After the match, Sykkuno is obviously sad and said he was going to go and get dinner, Rae follows up by saying she has to head out. We sure as hell know that these guys could stream for hours but she stopped there and even deleted her VOD as well. Now why could she have done that. Oh yeah. She must've talked with him. About what. I think you all know at this point. With two people quickly leaving, and two VERY important people in this "drama", Toast changed discussion and asked if the MC server was back up which made the others leave, ending their Among Us game that day. He left a parting message to the viewers and called it a day there.
2:16:50 is where the "yelling" starts and 2:26:00 is where he said this
Toast: Chat, Sykkuno's fine, okay? He's an adult. Okay. You don't have to tell me, or his friends, or him what to feel or what to do.
It's really disrespectful. Knock it off
Now tell me, what about that makes you think they don't care?
Are we also just forgetting that it was Rae that helped push Sykkuno to create his own lobby with people he loves playing with a while back? How this Tsunderae tells him how good of a player he is even when he thinks he just got lucky (god damn, Valorant days).
Are we forgetting how Toast was probably the most important person that helped Sykkuno grow confident in himself? When they hang out together and the bits we've heard from the podcasts, Sykkuno absolutely treasures his friendship with Toast the most (There have been multiple occassions where Sykkuno and Toast are caught on-cam or at least heard in the mic speaking to each other, more often than not in Lily's Just Chatting streams. In fact, I wouldn't put it past those two to be the ones talking in Yvonne's "I got a cat" video and the most popular clip from that was Sykkuno eating a sandwhich which is titled "SUSKKUNO")
The first recent example that came to mind was Lily and Michael's birthday stream.
It happens around 23:00
youtube
In other news Sykkuno and Lily's friendship is underrated and I don't understand how y'all sleep on it.
My parting words are Parasocial Relationships suck. Okay, good night.
