I just re-watched Battle of the Realms with my siblings and did you guys also notice Jax just 3rd wheels everyone?

I mean, LiuTana and CageBlade had that kiss party in the end of the movie and even SubScorp had their whole "find redemption together" thing going on, but Jax was just... There. Poor guy! :')

Yk NSR games made me kinda hate Liu Kang (it's too complicated to explain).

For me, I prefer his movie versions better (especially Ludi Lin's Liu since he's a whole new take on the character and I dig that)

More often than not, if you catch me giggling to myself unprompted. It’s because that one line between Kuai Liang and Hanzo from BOTR plays in my head and takes me out at the most unexpected of times.

I can't stop thinking about Scorpion in Mortal Kombat 3. Like. His story in MK3 is that he inexplicably fought for Outworld in the big war between realms, despite having a wife and daughter in Earthrealm that Shao Kahn was going to enslave and possibly murder if he won.

But then, at some point, he discovered that slaughtering Earthrealm's heroes and enslaving the realm would mean bringing harm to Sub-Zero. And he'd sworn an oath in Mortal Kombat 2 to protect Sub-Zero with his immortal existence. So he just. Switched sides.

And. Like. That's amazing.

Like. I'm just picturing this big, desolate battlefield. The champions of Earthrealm standing across from the champions of Outworld, raring to go for one epic final battle that will decide the fate of all things.

Shao Kahn: At long last, all of the souls of Earthrealm will belong to ME! Cower and accept your fates, for your world is—

Scorpion: (awkwardly raises hand) Excuse me!

Shao Kahn: ...

Scorpion: (waving arm) Over here!

Shao Kahn: Now? Really?

Scorpion: Sorry, but... Is that what we're doing? Conquering and enslaving all the souls of Earthrealm?

Shao Kahn: Did you read none of the paperwork? This was clearly covered in the informative brochures.

Shang Tsung: I spent a whole night writing those.

Scorpion: To be honest, the last few weeks have mostly just been a red haze.

Shao Kahn: Yes, that is what we're doing.

Scorpion: Oh. Well. Um. Excuse me.

(Scorpion disentangles himself from the army of Outworld, bumping into various Tarkatan and Shokan soldiers with utterings of "Excuse me" and "Pardon me". Then jogs awkwardly across the battlefield to Earthrealm's side, finding a place next to Sub-Zero where he can fit himself in)

Scorpion: Hey, bro. Sorry about this whole misunderstanding.

Sub-Zero: Do not speak to me. We are not friends.

Scorpion: Okay! All good over here! You can proceed with the bad guy speech!

Why do we never see this side of Mortal Kombat in the adaptations?

I just had a mortal kombat: legends marathon (with my cat lol I have no friends who love mk sadge)

and oh my God, Snow Blind and Cage Match was soooo good.

idk how they have a 37% approved raiting

LIke, Snow Blind I can somewhat understand, the sands of time was probably weird for old school fans (tbh it wasn't for me, I like anything mk lol im cheap like that) and people who don't really know the lore. Also Kenshi being SUPER YOUNG compered to anyone lol

But Cage Match was perfect idk how not many more people liked it.

That animation was cheap as hell tho. Like I personally don't have a problem with visibly cheap animation (also, I hope the artists were treated good and paid well) if I see the heart and soul behind it, and here I think they did a super job with what they had and probably in a very short time frame.

But, like WB animations used to be so gorgeous. For example the animated Suicide Squad movie, just fantasticly animated and also a great story.

So even compering the first mk: legends movie's animation quality to that...there is a difference, but as I said, not a deal breaker for me

Anyway, if you haven't seen the movies, watch them, they are good, idc what people say. They are not ground breaking by anymeans but they are super fun.
