Pairing : Mori x Reader
A/N : Mori is manipulative, and weird, but he’s also hot and I love him, so I want to try my best to make him sad. I just feel like he wouldn’t be used to this type of thing happening to him and he wouldn’t be able to handle it. This was also kind of a simple one, cause the last two are going to be super angsty, so I was trying to go easy on y’all.
T/W :  ; Manipulation ; Threats ; Verbal Abuse ; Slight Angst
Angstember Day 10
Tumblr media
Meeting Mori was an accident. You never thought that you would end up with a man like him. You were working in one of the boutiques where he bought Elise’s dresses, and you had apparently caught his eye. At first he was charming and sophisticated. He would take you out on fancy dates, buying you everything you could ever want or need. He suckered you in. As time went on, his true personality started showing, the manipulative side of him, even more when he invited you to run the mafia with him. Things only got worse from there, and you couldn’t take it anymore.
Tumblr media
It was another day of sitting in his office, an office that was too large to be alone in and feel comfortable. He had meetings to attend to, and you weren’t allowed to leave the building ever. He always said it was too dangerous, but you knew that it was just another form of control he had over you. If you did ever leave, you were sure that he would just have one of the men drag you back in, and you would be punished severely for doing what you wanted.
There were many times when he had threatened you for even thinking of going out, it wasn’t physical, Mori never laid a finger on you, but you knew that was only because he knew that if he did, you would have legitimate grounds for leaving him. He never raised a hand at you, he never even raised his voice, but he had other tactics that he would use to put you in your place and keep you there.
“If you want to go out so badly, you can find somewhere else to eat and sleep tonight.” “The second you step out those doors, you’ll lose everything. I’m sure you don’t want to be living on the streets now, do you?” “You know what I did to the former president, I told you about that, didn’t I? There’s nothing keeping me from doing the same thing to someone who acts out of line.”
You had went from being so deeply in love with him that you had given up everything, your family, your home, your job, just to be with him, and now you despised even the thought of him. His name made you sick, his touch made you gag, you hated everything about him.
Leaving him had it’s risks, you could be tortured or even killed, not just because you knew too much about the Port and what went on inside the building, but also because leaving Mori was a big no no. He wouldn’t allow it, not because he loved you and didn’t want to lose you though. He didn’t care about you as a person, he could care less if you died right that moment. You leaving him though, it would crush his ego, it would make him look bad, and he couldn’t have that.
At this point though, you didn’t mind. Anything was better than being stuck with him, and if that meant death, than you would embrace it, you would accept it, it would be a way out, a way to finally be free of him. You had to plan how you would do it, how to actually get it done. You had to be brave, you had to just say what needed to be said and go.
He walked into his office after the meeting, smiling when he saw you sitting at his desk. It wasn’t a genuine smile of someone happy to see the person they loved, he was just happy to see you were still there and hadn’t tried to run off. It made him feel powerful, knowing that he had this much control over you. “Look at my obedient little pet, right where I left you.” He walked over to where you sat and patted your head.
“I’m not your pet, Mori.” You swatted his hand away, pushing away from the desk and standing up. He wasn’t much taller than you, but the way he glared down at you was just as menacing as if he towered over you. You couldn’t get scared though, you had to stand up to him, you had to know when to walk away.
“Now now, where did this come from? You don’t know what you’re saying, let’s just sit down and talk about this over a nice cup of tea.” His voice was just as calm as if he was having a casual conversation with one of the other members of the Port. You could see it though, the way his eyes twitched, the way his pupils dilated making his eyes seem darker than they already were. He was getting angry, losing control of you would surely cause him to lose control of himself as well.
“I’m done with this...” You waved your arms around the room, then pointed at him. “I’m done with you controlling me. I’m not allowed to do anything, I’m not allowed to leave this stupid office. I can’t talk to my family, I can’t work...Mori, this isn’t living. I’m not living when I’m here, not when I’m with you.” He rolled his eyes at you before chuckling, and that only set you off more. “You don’t care about me, you don’t love me, you love controlling me. I’m sick of it, and I’m sick of you. I’m leaving.”
“And where will you go when you do leave, Y/N? You have nothing. In case you don’t remember-”
“I remember very well, but I don’t care anymore. Anything is better than being stuck here with you.” You walked around the desk, not daring to brush past him like the people do in the movies, no, that would be too risky. You didn’t stop to turn back and look at him, you didn’t stop for anything or anyone. You made it to the elevator, riding down to the bottom floor. It was the furthest you had ever made it, but this time no one was there to stop you. You walked right out the front doors, finally feeling the warmth of the sun hitting your skin for the first time in what felt like forever. You were finally free.
Tumblr media
No one had ever left him before. He didn’t know how to react. He assumed that you would end up coming back, that you wouldn’t be able to make it out there on your own. He gave it a couple days, waiting to be able to tell you that he told you so, that you needed him. He surely didn’t need you, but you definitely needed him. You wouldn’t be able to make it out there without him. You would come crawling back, and then he would make his hold on you tighter, make sure that you never thought of leaving him ever again.
Days turned into weeks, he was becoming annoyed. Why hadn’t you come back? Did you find someone else to depend on, to rely on? He wasn’t having that, he couldn’t have that. You were supposed to depend on him. He wasn’t jealous, he was irritated, aggravated that you hadn’t even called. Weren’t you thinking of him? He had wasted so much time and money on you, and you left him and didn’t even text. It wasn’t right.
Too many weeks had passed, it had been months since you had walked out. Did you even think of him? Surely you had to think of him sometimes. He couldn’t understand why he thought of you so much. The words that you had said would replay in his mind, and sometimes he would even feel slightly bad for making you feel that way. But he knew that what he did was best for you, him, and the entire Port Mafia. He didn’t want to admit to himself that he missed you, it would make him feel weak, so instead he got angry. He was angry at you for leaving, how could you possibly leave the most powerful member of the Port Mafia, the most powerful man in Yokohama? It couldn’t possibly be his fault.
He never sent anyone out to follow you, he never put a target on your head, deep down he didn’t want anything to happen to you. Was it because he loved you, or because he still believed there was the slight chance that you could possibly come back, that he would be able to control you again, he wasn’t sure. All he knew was that no harm could ever come to you, and though he didn’t have people specifically following you around the city, he did have tabs on you. That’s how he knew exactly where to find you one day when he had been out shopping with Elise.
You were standing at the counter of the shop, just as you had been when he had first saw you. Your hair had changed slightly, you were smiling, chatting with one of the other employees at the store. It had been so long since he had seen you smile, so it was surely breathtaking to see it again, almost like he was seeing it for the first time.
Elise tugged at his sleeve, trying to draw his attention away from you. “Rintaro! Come onnnn!” Her voice had made you whip your head, meeting his eyes in the middle of the store. For the first time, Mori didn’t know what to say, he didn’t know what to do. He actually felt... nervous.
“Good afternoon, sir. Is there anything in particular that you’re looking for?” You said, and he couldn’t quite understand why he felt so hurt that you were treating him so commonly. You were acting as if the last three years had never happened... had he really been that terrible?
“Uhm... no... I was just stopping in to see if there was anything new. Come on Elise, let’s go.” He nodded his head to you, walking out of the store. You didn’t need to say it flat out, you had made it clear in the way that you looked at him, the way you spoke to him, you were gone. You weren’t his anymore, and you were never coming back.
