Second Annual ‘Marvelous Game Showcase’ Delivers Exciting Updates on Fan-favorite STORY OF SEASONS and Rune Factory Series; Reveals NARUTO: Arcade Battle for
North America, and More
New Looks for Additional Titles in Development Include Opening Animation for
Monster Farming / Action Title Farmagia and Striking New Teaser for DAEMON X MACHINA: Titanic Scion
TORRANCE, Calif., — May 30, 2024 — Marvelous USA, Inc. and XSEED Games today shared a localized version of parent company Marvelous Inc.’s second annual ‘Marvelous Game Showcase,’ which debuted today at 3:00pm PT. President Suminobu Sato hosted the showcase and was joined by key members of development teams to provide updates on titles announced in last year's event, and announce new regional and global initiatives for the Marvelous family of companies.
youtube
Farmagia (formerly Project Magia): Product Manager Takehiro Ishida revealed the official title of the project, Farmagia, and presented the game’s opening animation, giving gamers an action-packed look at the cast of characters and powers they wield. Ishida-san also shared details on key characters in the game, designed by popular artist Hiro Mashima, including Ten, the protagonist who often acts before thinking; Arche, his childhood friend who balances both kindness and a competitive nature; Chica, another childhood friend with a more reserved demeanor; and Lookie-Loo, Ten’s sidekick and de-facto mascot. The title is planned for a global release in 2024.
STORY OF SEASONS: The next, as-yet-untitled entry in the beloved franchise continues its development as the team focuses on improvements to the visual presentation and natural environments. Series Manager Hikaru Nakano joined to debut a fresh look at the results of their efforts, highlighting how aspects such as updated natural lighting and festival fireworks have been improved to enhance immersion and atmosphere. The project remains in active development and will be fully revealed at a later date. In the meantime, Nakano-san confirmed new gameplay features including a player-controlled glider and the return of fan-favorite pets.
Amusement Section: Marvelous Inc. supports more than just PC and console entertainment and announced a number of new arcade initiatives including NARUTO: Arcade Battle, which will be available in North America this summer. Players will experience the world of NARUTO on a massive 50” screen, where they’ll engage in intense ninjutsu battles and collect plates to reach the highest rank they can! Arcade titles for Japan release only were also presented.
Indie Partner Lineup: The Marvelous family continues to invest in helping creative and exciting visions from smaller indie developers become a reality with global support for titles! Titles introduced for worldwide release include Bitsummit 2023 Grand Prize winner Death the Guitar, where players become an electric guitar fighting with the power of death metal to avenge their owner, planned for a 2025 release; and Moonlight Peaks, the supernatural-themed vampire farming/life sim title from Dutch developer Little Chicken, scheduled for 2026 release. One additional title, Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus, was also presented for release in Asia and Japan by Marvelous on July 28, 2024.
Rune Factory: Following a brief history on the evolution of the Rune Factory series and how it has grown across nine titles released over 18 years, Rune Factory series Director Shiro Maekawa joined the stream to reveal a new video for Rune Factory: PROJECT DRAGON sharing a look at the title’s protagonists. Players can choose to play as either Subaru or Kaguya, two new Earthmates with a twist; they will use the power of dance, rather than farming, to communicate and interact with the world around them. This new approach to interacting with the world comes with non-combat tools, including parasols and drums; series staple weapons like swords; and brand-new weapon types to experiment with, including bows and talismans.
DAEMON X MACHINA: Titanic Scion: First revealed during last year’s Marvelous Game Showcase, DAEMON X MACHINA: Titanic Scion once again closed out the show, where President Sato-san shared an evocative look at Marvelous’ First Studio’s mech-action sequel.  Additional details including platforms and a release window will be announced at a later date.
To celebrate the Showcase, select STORY OF SEASONS and Rune Factory titles will be on sale for up to 60% off on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch™ through June 7, 2024.

What Is A Zombie Walk?
A Zombie Walk is an organized gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes and then converge quickly in a public area for surprise and fun. Walks usually in urban areas such as shopping malls or town squares. Participants arrive at a pre-determined time (often at a hidden location) and then emerge as a group to creep in a somewhat orderly fashion through shocked and amused crowds, towards a final destination (usually a cemetery, club, bar or after party).
During the Walk, all participants are encouraged to remain in character as zombies, lurching, shambling, dragging limbs and communicating only in a zombie-like manner (such as grunting, groaning, moaning and slurred calls for “brains”.) Zombie Walks are always free events. With the exception of Zombie Pub Crawls, most walks are

Hello! You write scenario with vampire Vil, so... can I ask for vampire Rook this time?
rouge
warnings: mentions of death, blood, general yandere themes

a/n: the asker didn’t specify yandere here but, the vamp vil scenario they are talking about here was yan so uh, i’m making this a yan rook scenario.
----------
It’d been a while since any human dared walk into his home. It was akin to a mouse walking right into a trap, a bear stepping in a beartrap; surely by now all the villagers knew that those who entered a vampire’s lair were bound to never return. Killed, devoured, drained of their blood by the creatures who stalked the night- from time to time they’d find corpses, pale, cold and stiff, their blood drained to the last drop and expressions morphed into horrifying screams of terror for eternity.
And yet, he could see them as they nervously walked the darkened mansion with nothing but a candle on their hand, hot wax occasionally dripping into their hand and making them hiss in pain. He’d noticed them walk in; he could’ve leapt the second they stepped inside, he could’ve killed them at any moment, but he’d chosen to let them wander inside. Perhaps it was the sheer oddity of the situation, or maybe the hunter’s desire to observe his prey; whatever it was, Rook silently stalked the shaken human throughout his own mansion, watching as they cautiously looked around.
They were tired, clothes wet from the rain and dirtied with splotches of mud- they’d taken off their shoes, perhaps not wanting to leave footprints or dirty the carpets, but the rest of their clothes were soaked in rainwater. The heat from the measley candle they’d taken from a candleholder was clearly not nearly enough to warm them up- Rook rarely set up fireplaces, his undead body not needing the warmth mortals did- but now he wondered if they’d run towards one like a moth to a flame, in their current state.
They were disheveled and exhausted, visibly scared- if he had to take a guess, he’d say they were a young villager who got lost and tried to find shelter in his adobe assuming it was abandoned due to its darkness and solitude. They very clearly had no clue they’d walked into the vampire’s den, judging by the fact that they were venturing in deeper; they had no weapons and no protection, they weren’t a vampire hunter or a soldier in any way, just a lost civilian who wandered into the worst place possible.
He watched for longer than he thought he would. There wasn’t anything interesting about this human, there shouldn’t have been, they were no different to the countless people he’d killed for sustenance before- they were prey and he was predator, easy as that, and yet he found himself almost fascinated. The way the moonlight filtering through the windows would illuminate them as they passed a window, their heavy breathing that combined with the chattering of their teeth as their body kept on growing colder and colder; there was something about them that kept Rook’s interest, far more than any other human had.
They were beautiful.
He’d lived a long life- he’d seen his fair share of lovers of all genders and backgrounds, met nobles and common folk alike who boasted appearances that went on to be legend- Rook had always chased for beauty, always seeking that ethereal concept; he’d turned more than one human into a vampire just because he believed their beauty had to be preserved, he’d collect decorations and paintings for his home to surround himself in art. And despite his current subject of interest clearly being a frightened commoner, dirty and shivering, he could sense it- by their quiet footfalls, their hushed breathing, the panic in their eyes, they were beautiful. How had such a human been living in proximity to his mansion without him realizing? He’d hate to think of the possibility that, had they not gotten lost today, he could have never met them and they’d have simply kept living their life until their time came to join their fellow humans in death; he was perhaps lucky fate had other plans for them, as they’d waltzed right into his grasp.
“Good evening, lapin.” Stepping out of the shadows, Rook finally spoke up- the terrified squeal that left the poor human echoed in the hall, almost dropping their candle in fright. They’d probably assumed the house was empty, and to suddenly come face to face with someone in the dark had almost been enough to frighten them to death.
“A-aah, oh dear lord, are you the owner of this house...? I truly- I didn’t mean to intrude, I just- I went out to forage for some food for my family, but then it began to rain and night fell, and I couldn’t find my way back, and-” their panicked ramblings made Rook chuckle, as he waved a hand in the air as if to dismiss their justifications.
“Oh, no need to worry, I understand your plight. The forest can be so tricky once night falls, non?” he said, and he watched as relief melted into the human’s face, as they perhaps thought they’d managed to find an eccentric but kind nobleman’s home. “Besides, it’s dangerous for a weak thing like you to be out there at these times- the beasts that lurk the night would certainly make a feast out of you.”
“... Y-yes, I guess so.” they seemed shaken by his comment, perhaps their mind wandering to wolves or bears, or perhaps by the even grimmer image of their fellow villagers being found dead with two fang wounds in their neck, attacked by creatures of the night. It seemed to be the later case, as Rook instinctively licked his lips as he watched them bring a hand to their neck, perhaps remembering the images of carnage they’d seen on corpses left behind. “The village priest says it’s dangerous to walk around at night because of the vampires... He told me to wear my rosary and to carry holy water with me, just in case, but- lord, have you seen the state of the victims? I don’t think anything could protect the poor people who run into those beasts.”
Oh, it was so ironic- perhaps like the tragic comedies that sometimes ran in theatres in larger towns that he so adored. Watching the human talk about how scary and rough vampires were, thanking him for saving them, completely unaware he was biding his time until he’d sink his fangs into their flesh. He wouldn’t kill them yet, no, not yet; he had to consider if they should join his immortal ranks- after all, his sudden attraction to them had to mean they had the potential to shine bright. Perhaps he could turn them and keep them as a companion; bring them over to Vil so he could fix them up, or-
“... my betrothed was insistent I didn’t go out tonight, but there was no food left and nobody’s getting paid until next week, so I simply had to go see if there were any eggs or berries in the forest...” Rook’s eyes snapped open at the human’s words- a betrothed. It shouldn’t have been weird, not at all. Humans live so shortly, they marry fast and try to form families before their time runs out; in a small village, someone as beautiful as this human would certainly already be preparing to marry.
It made sense, and yet he felt a wave of jealousy permeate through him. For a vampire, Rook had never been one to particularly demean humans- he’d kill them, sure, but he wouldn’t go as far as to terrorize them for fun, or act as some other vampires did and consider them worms beneath him, inferior to immortals. But the flash of rage that coursed through him was undeniable. Usually he was content to hold beautiful things at arm’s length, to gaze at them, to keep around; he’d never been bothered if an ex-lover moved on, not if any of the humans he turned found other vampire lovers of their own. And yet this human, who he didn’t even know the name of, who he’d just met, was somehow bringing forth emotions foreign to him.
“Oh? Lapin, are you to marry soon?” he asked, trying to keep himself sounding friendly. The question seemed to make them cheer up a bit- despite the fact they were clearly shivering, too shy to ask if he could perhaps direct them to a fireplace.
“Ah, yes! I got engaged some weeks ago to someone close to me...” they blushed as they spoke, and despite the fact their face was adorable like that, the fact that someone else was causing it brought an acrid taste to Rook’s mouth. “... we’re going to get married next month, in the local church, and-”
“... Well, what a careless lover you have, then. Don’t they know that if they let their precious roam lose, they might be stolen by someone else?” Rook chuckled, a bit more darkly than usual. His words made them stop in their talking, as if confused. He went on. “If a rabbit runs lose on the forest, nobody should be surprised when the crow snatches it for itself.”
“... That’s, um-” the fear was back in their face now, eyes panickedly looking around; good. He much preferred that look on them, rather than the lovesick expression when talking about their betrothed. Perhaps this was bloodlust; maybe it’d been too long since he’d drank- it made no sense for him to find himself infatuated with a human like this, and yet the sight of their neck and their terrified gaze made him feel more alive than he’d ever been.
Without much of a thought, he pinned them to the wall- their scream was piercing. Perhaps they thought he was a creep, or maybe they’d finally connected the dots about his pale skin and the empty manor and realized he was a vampire; whatever it was, they didn’t vocalize it, instead choosing to scream for help. Even their scared screams were melodious, somehow; he didn’t know if he could truly blame hunger for the way he rejoiced in their squirming and crying.
“Now, now, lapin, you can’t blame me for this. If you’d kept on walking past my humble abode, I wouldn’t have seen you- I didn’t plan on hunting tonight. But what can one do when the prey saunters right into one’s grasp, hm?” he said breath ghosting over the juncture of their neck and shoulder. They struggled; but the coldness had numbed their body, hours of walking leaving them weak. Even at their peak, no human could overpower a vampire easily, not one as strong as Rook. “I’m afraid you can’t get away with no consequences just because you’re beautiful, lapin.”
Their blood was delicious. It had been too long since he’d gotten to indulge like this- to pin his prey down, to drink their blood leisurely without having to think about being caught, from the comfort of his own home. It’d been too long since he’d found prey he enjoyed so much- usually the human’s panicked cries and sobbing and begging were nothing but background noise, and yet, for once, he found himself spurred to bite down again and again by the helpless whimpering of his victim. His blond hair tickled their neck, the elegant fabric of his attire becoming damp upon coming into contact with their rain soaked clothes, but he paid it little mind.
“S-stop, please...! I don’t- please, no, don’t... kill me...!” they were hiccuping as they cried, feebly trying to fight back- by now, the natural numbing of his saliva had to have taken away the pain, but nothing could soothe their fear. Rook had never been bitten, having been born a vampire; but he’d been told the bite hurt, and then it went numb, only to then become pleasurable. If his little human was feeling any pleasure from the bite, they didn’t show it- their whines and cries could have very well been born from sheer fear or from an unknown pleasure.
“Ah, mon lapin, your words tempt me so,” he lifted his mouth, lips stained red with warm blood. Usually, villagers around him were malnourished or sickly- but this particular human’s blood was rich, comparable to the best he’d had. Rook never had qualms on turning a human; the value of human life, the importance of mortality, the essence of being human, those were things he cared little for; but he didn’t want to stop drinking this blood. And yet, the thought of them laying dead in the ground didn’t please him either; there was no proper way to preserve a corpse, not without the aid of magic he didn’t currently have in hand- and despite the nights being cold, the days were becoming increasingly hot; if he killed them, their beauty would fade so fast... “Say, lapin... Do you truly wish to live?”
Teary eyes stared right into green eyes with slit pupils. He could see himself in the reflection of their eyes- pale skin, red coating his mouth and chin, piercing green eyes almost glowing in the dark, his blond hair framing his face. They were shaking, only held up by his hands that pinned them to the wall- at his question they sobbed and nodded, begging, please spare them, their family needs them, please-
Before they could mention their betrothed and sour his mood again, Rook quickly bit down on his own tongue. His fangs drew blood easily- it tasted coppery and rather gross, but he wasn’t that unused to the taste of his own blood. Vampire blood was not tasty, at least not to other vampires, and it didn’t serve to quench their thirst; he almost lamented covering up the taste of the divine blood he’d just ingested with his own lackluster blood, but there was at least an use for his immortal blood.
When he lowered his head again to go at the wounds he’d created, the human writhed under him, probably assuming he’d changed his mind and decided to kill them. Rook hummed pleasantly as the taste of their blood coated his wounded tongue- and at the same time his own blood coated their injuries. He licked at the two puncture holes, making sure his wound kept on bleeding into them; he had to make sure it got into their bloodstream, after all. He knew it’d worked when the skin around his mouth grew hot, and a piercing scream fell from the human’s lips. Vil had told him once that being turned into a vampire was the most painful thing he’d ever felt- the burning, the cold, the feeling of their body dying and yet continuing to live; it almost pained him when he reluctantly lifted his mouth from their neck and watched their painstriken face as they shook and screamed in sheer pain at the feeling of their body turning.
“Shh, shh, it’s ok, it’s ok...” he said, letting go off their wrists and caressing their hair. Perhaps out of fear or pain, or maybe deep in a delusion brought on by the excruciating pain, they hugged him weakly. Oh, he could get used to this; perhaps it truly was time he got a companion for himself. Sure, it was lamentable he hadn’t even caught their name as a living human; but there’d be plenty of time for them to get acquainted with him.
After all, this wasn’t just his way to preserve their beauty- he had selfish purposes for his actions. For once, perhaps, he’d keep them by his side; if he’d gifted them immortal life, it’d only be fair they spent said time with him, right?

Enchanted Night

Synopsis: Accepting an invitation to a Halloween beach party, Y/N tags along with her best friend. There, she meets a young man with whom she hits it off with right away. But he is not all that he seems.
“Your cup’s almost empty!” her friend exclaimed in mock horror as she eyeballed Y/N’s cup. “Lemme get you a refill right quick.”            “No, no. I’m goo-.” Ignoring YN’s protests she snatched the cup and sauntered off, a little bit wobbly on her legs. “Aish, Lucy!” Y/N sighed.            It was Friday night and they were mingling at a beach house party. It was a tradition that had started a few years ago. The weekend nearest Halloween, a group of friends would rent a beach house and any one was welcome to come and party for two nights. Lucy and Y/N had gone each year, though they always rented their own space within walking distance.            She wasn’t much of a drinker and went mostly because Lucy insisted. Lucy was the outgoing, dancing till her feet gave out, and drinking til she puked kinda gal, while Y/N… Well, she preferred staying outside the edge of all the hoopla.            Leaning over to take a peek towards the kitchen, Y/N could see Lucy there pouring (mostly spilling, really) various liquors into her solo cup. Shaking her head, she scurried towards the sliding doors and escaped out into the night.            This was Florida. Though it was fall, it was the perfect time and weather to be there at the beach. October still offered warm days and just slightly cool nights. As she shut the door, muting the music and chatter, she headed down the deck, skirting past several couples making out.            Reaching the end of the plank way, she pulled off her shoes and sighed blissfully as the ocean breeze whispered through her hair and her toes sunk into the sugary soft sand. The roar of the ocean waves crashing on the shore blocked the noise from the party going on a few yards behind her. A fire pit had been lit not too far from the shore and there were a few people there roasting marshmallows and hanging out. Angling away from them, Y/N found an empty lounge chair and sat, dropping her shoes beside her.            Leaning back, she gazed up at the inky blackness above her, awestruck by the vast amount of stars she could see. It was truly amazing how many we really don’t see because of the city lights.            “This seat taken?”            Jumping at the unexpected voice intruding her thoughts, Y/N laughed, a slight tremble audible in the timbre.            Shaking her head, her voice faltered as her gaze drifted up, up, way up into the face of the stranger beside her, “N-No. Take it if you want.”            Lord, he had to be the most gorgeous person she had ever seen. There was an almost androgynous look to his features that made his appearance all the more beautiful.            “Well, actually, I was wondering if I could sit here with you,” he smiled broadly at her.            Eyes widening in surprise, Y/N swallowed hard, trying to moisten her throat that had suddenly gone bone dry.            “Uhm, yeah. Sure. Go ahead.”    Drawing her legs up, she wrapped her arms around them and tried to focus on the waves smashing onto the shore in front of her. The silvery moon’s reflection caused the ocean to glitter like sparkling diamonds...and the view helped calm her nerves. She was not used to talking to anyone as attractive as him and prayed she would not make a fool of herself.    “I’m Minhyuk, by the way.”    Turning to face him, she saw the outstretched hand peeking out of the oversized light brown sweat shirt. The digits were long, thin, and almost delicate looking. She slid her hand into his, watching how his warm fingers wrapped around her own. His grip was firm, telling her he was not a frail, weak man whatsoever.    She swallowed thickly, forcing her eyes from their joined hands and up to his face. A mischievous grin played on his pretty lips yet again. There was something there in those dark sparkling eyes. Like he knew something she didn’t.    “Y/N,” she finally replied.    “Nice to meet you, Y/N.” Gently slipping his hand out of hers, he settled back in his own chair. With his fingers laced behind his head, he crossed his legs at his ankles and turned to look out at the very waters she’d been taking in moments before. “I haven’t seen you here before. Do you live around here?”            With his eyes no longer on her, she could feel herself relax a tiny bit. She sat cross-legged now hands on her knees.            “No, I live about three hours from here. I’m only here for the weekend.”            “I see.”            “What about you?”            He chuckled softly, “I live near the water's edge.”            “That must be nice, living so close to the ocean,” Y/N sighed. “I have to drive a ways to get to any beach.”            “It is magical living near the water,” he smiled over at Y/N. Smile widening, he sat up, “You want to dance?”            Caught off guard, Y/N swiveled and placed her feet on the sand as she repeated, “Dance?”            “Yeah,” he pointed with his chin towards the group that was around the fire pit. She’d been so enthralled by Minhyuk that she hadn’t even noticed that the group had started playing music. Now it was plain as day as the beats and lyrics flowed over on the wind. She instantly felt her cheeks burn.    “Uhm…”    He stood and offered a hand to her. Only hesitating a moment, she let him lift her up from her chair and into his arms. One of his hands slid down to her waist, while the other that held her hand didn’t let go. Instead he held it against his heart.    He began to move to the music. The movements were so sensual that she found it was becoming difficult to breathe. She let him guide her and soon they were moving together. As the music transitioned to something slower, he slid his other hand to her waist and pulled her closer.  He then began to sing along softly and her eyes widened as she leaned her face back to watch his lips follow along with the lyrics. The melodic tone that slid passed his perfect lips had her mesmerized. A gorgeous man that could dance and sing?    “You ok?” he chuckled like he knew exactly how frazzled he had her.    Cheeks flushing with heat again, she ducked her head, shyly replying, “Yes.”    “You’re so beautiful with those rosy cheeks,” he laughed as he lifted her chin with his fingers.            “Stop,” she glared playfully at him.            And those enchanting eyes of his glittered, reflecting the moonlight and the flames of the fire pit and she felt herself falling into their spell. She didn’t resist when he leaned forward. Y/N actually held her breath in anticipation, then released it only slightly disappointed when he bypassed her mouth. His lips pressed a tender kiss to her cheek and her heart danced a rapid beat beneath her ribs.            “I’m glad I met you tonight, Y/N,” Minhyuk whispered.            Y/N opened her mouth to reply, but the sound of her name being called loudly from a bit behind her had her spinning around and out of his hold. There she found Lucy trying to walk through the powdery sand with her heels on.            “There you are!” Lucy huffed in annoyance. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”            Turning back around to apologize, again Y/N found herself shutting her mouth, left without words. Minhyuk was no longer there. Disheartened to see he’d left without even saying good-bye, she returned her attention to her friend.            “I think it’s time to go,” Y/N sighed heavily as she snatched up her shoes and hurried to her friend.            She took one more wistful look behind her, but only found the cresting waves rippling in the distance.
                                             .·:*¨¨*:·.    .·:*¨¨*:·.
Lucy and Y/N stood in their motel room bathroom trying to get ready as quickly as possible. It was Halloween night and they were dressing up in costumes for the party. Lucy had chosen a sexy nurse outfit and had her face in the mirror adding large lashes to accentuate the bright blue glittering eyeshadow she wore.    With emerald green scale-patterned tights and a brown corset style top, Y/N was going for a rebel style mermaid look. She let her hair loose, adding a few thin braids and some shells randomly through her locks. Her makeup was light and natural looking, but she lathered on glittery lotion to any exposed skin and also added glitter hairspray to her hair to give off a magical appearance.    “Ready?” Lucy asked as she smacked her lips then dabbed at the corners of her mouth with her pinky.    “Yep. Let’s go.”    Slipping her feet into a pair of dark brown beach sandals Y/N opened the door, holding it open for Lucy.    Scrunching her nose, Lucy looked down at her best friend’s feet.    “Seriously?”    “What?” Y/N asked innocently. “I’m choosing comfort.”    Lucy sighed heavily, but didn’t say anything else as they walked out into the late evening. Much like the night before there was a soft ocean breeze that carried on it the scent of sea salt and a bit of coolness from the chilled waters. The moon was on its way to reaching its highest peak though it barely provided any brightness to mark their way.    Sliding her phone from her waist band, Y/N brought up the flashlight app and lit the way to the beach house. They could already make out the fairy lights that had been strung around, the lights varying from amber, purple and green to keep with the Halloween theme. The bass could be heard over the crashing waves and Lucy’s steps quickened.    “Come on, Y/N,” she urged. “The party is already well on its way!”    “I’m going, I’m going!” Y/N huffed, but stepped up her pace to match her friend’s.    It wasn’t long before they reached the plank way that led up to the deck. Tonight the outside area was just as filled with people as the inside. Looking around as they meandered through the crowd, Y/N found it difficult to determine who was who as just about everyone was in a costume. The costumes ranged from vampires to dead brides to zombies.    Lucy!” they both turned as a tall male called out her name when they stepped into the kitchen.    It was Frankenstein, green paint and everything. Judging by his height, this was the guy Lucy had been with most of the night, the previous day.    “Jeriko!” she hollered back with a pleased laugh before giving him a brief hug.    She took the drink he offered her.    “Hey, Y/N,” he offered her a nod. “Nice outfits ladies.”    “Thanks,” they replied in unison, then burst into giggles.    “Mind if I steal her for a while?” Jeriko asked, even as he hooked an elbow with Lucy.    “Naw go ahead.” To Lucy, she said, “I’ll be around if you need me. Just text me, ok?”    Lucy nodded as Jeriko began to pull her away. Sighing, Y/N made her way to the dimly lit living room area. The music was still extremely loud in this part of the house, but she was ok with that. Plopping down on the opposite end of the only available spot, she did her best to block out the couple making out just two cushions away.    Y/N glanced around the room, watching couples as they danced and groups of people as they chatted and laughed together. She smiled wistfully, liking being alone, but wishing to have the courage to join in. Her mind wandered towards the guy she’d met the night before and she wonder what Minhyuk was doing. If he were here to talk to, she wouldn’t feel so awkward.    As if her thoughts had summoned him, her eyes darted to the figure walking through the archway that split the kitchen from the living room. A young man with a faded shade of magenta colored hair stepped in. Dressed in black jeans, a black t-shirt and an unbuttoned black blazer, Minhyuk appeared a lot taller than she remembered. She took a moment to admire the sharp line of his jaw and the way his lips quirked to one side in a partial smirk. Minhyuk looked like royalty as he peered casually around the room. When his eyes finally landed on her, his smile widened causing her heart to leap in her chest. Y/N waved him over even though he’d already started walking her way. She stood, greeting him as soon as he was close.    “Minhyuk, you came,” she returned his bright smile.
He leaned forward kissing her cheek, bringing forth a flush of warmth to the area.
“Couldn’t pass up the chance to see you again.” The glint in his eyes was mischievous, his tone flirtatious causing Y/N to giggle. “Want to go outside where it’s a bit easier to hear each other?”
“Sure.”
He reached out for Y/N’s hand, and with their fingers intertwined, they managed to get outside without being seperated.
“Much nicer out here, little mermaid,” he commented as they headed off the deck and towards the ocean.
“I figured that’d be the perfect costume since the party was at the beach,” Y/N shrugged with a laugh.
Reaching the same chairs they’d sat in the night before, they removed their shoes and sandals and walked hand in hand near the shore line. The water was much too cold to walk in, but the moist beach sand felt nice beneath their bare feet.
“You definitely had the right idea with that costume,” he complimented.
“Thanks. So what are you supposed to be?” she queried looking up at Minhyuk briefly before looking ahead again.
   “A human,” he deadpanned.
Y/N faltered, looking up at Minhyuk. With her forehead drawn tight, she scrutinized his face to gage if he was being serious. She let a nervous laugh leave her lips when he quirked an eyebrow at her. Pursing her lips at him, only slightly amused, she told him, “Just say you didn’t have a costume.” “Ok. Well, how about Enchanted Human?” he countered. “Would that make you feel better?” “Well, that would just make me question how much you’ve had to drink today,” she stated simply as she hugged his arm and continued their walking. Minhyuk chuckled, “Not a drop.” He didn’t resist her closeness and they continued on along the ocean’s edge. They were quiet for a few steps before he stopped and turned to look down at her. Y/N returned his gaze. She smiled reassuringly at his pensive stare. The teasing look that had been twinkling in his eyes was gone and replaced by something she couldn’t quite place. Something was very obviously weighing on his mind. “Are you ok?” she finally broke the quietness. Minhyuk released a sigh before he began to speak. “I know we just met, but I really like you.” Y/N smiled at that. “Me, too,” she assured him. “I feel this connection with you and…I don’t know. I just…,” he paused to smile boyishly and cup her cheek. “I haven’t felt this way before.” She could feel her heart begin to race at the words and the gentleness of his touch. “I haven’t either,” Y/N murmured. “Can I just… Is it ok if I…” His voice floated off in the sea breeze as he leaned down, closing the space between them. Y/N’s eyes shut in anticipation. This time his lips met hers and to Y/N, it was like brushing her lips across a rose petal. His lips were so soft and gentle as they pressed a sweet kiss onto her mouth. Nothing intrusive or forceful, just a pleasant touch of their lips. “That was really nice.” Y/N giggled “Yeah. It was,” he chuckled. Sobering up, he locked eyes with Y/N. “I have to tell you something. Well, I want to tell you something.” “Okayyy,” she dragged out the word nervously. “What I said earlier, about dressing up as an enchanted human… I was being serious.” Y/N frowned, “What do you mean?” “I told you I live by the water’s edge, but that wasn’t entirely true.” Minhyuk bit down roughly on his bottom lip as Y/N took a tentative step back. “Explain,” she demanded, her voice neutral as she crossed her arms under her chest. “I want you to keep an open mind. Know that there are things in this world beyond your imagination.” Pausing, he took a deep breath. “I come from a place deep in the ocean called The Encante. Have you heard of it?” She let out a disbelieving huff of hair. “I mean, it vaguely sounds familiar. A folklore of some sort.” Shaking her head as she wracked her mind for more details. Her eyes brightened as she recalled some information. Something she’d read on line one day when she was reading about various folk tales from around the world. “It’s a place compared to paradise where these creatures live that can shed their animal skin and change into humans. Kind of like a selkie.” Minhyuk smiled, appearing pleased by her response. “Right. My kind are called Encantado and in the water we are dolphins, but we can shed our dolphin form and walk the land as human.” Y/N eyed him silently. Her eyes bore into his as she did her best to decipher if he was telling the truth or teasing. “Are you being serious right now?” she finally asked, dropping her arms. He nodded solemnly. “I don’t know what to say. This all sounds crazy.” “It is all true. I swear,” he insisted. “I told you because I want you to come with me there, to The Encante.” “Minhyuk, we’ve only just met. Even if I believed you…I have friends and family.” Shaking her head and shrugging she added, “I can’t just leave all of them behind.” His face crumbled, panic evident in his eyes as he blinked a few times. Y/N watched his Adam’s apple bob roughly in his throat as he reached out, offering his hand. “Please come with me, Y/N.” Her heart broke to see such a beautiful being so sad, so devastated, but she would not sway. This young man truly believed he was an enchanted creature. What need was there for him to concoct such an elaborate lie to keep her in his life if they had already hit if off so well? Perhaps he he really was just plain crazy. “I can’t do this.” Frustrated and angered she took a step to stomp away. She wasn’t so much as furious with him, but with her own self as she had allowed herself to be captivated by him so quickly. Now he’s speaking of enchanted dolphins and underwater magical cities? “Wait!” he hissed desperately, his hand clasping around her wrist. She yo-yoed back, colliding with his chest. “What the hell?!” “Shhh,” he cooed apologetically. “Just…I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Look. Give me a chance to show you.” Untangling herself from him, she looked down the beach, realizing how far they’d walked from everyone. It was dark, save for the fractured reflection of the smiling moon over the shivering ocean. She returned her gaze to Minhyuk’s pleading one. What harm would it do for him to show her he was lying? “Fine,” she extended an arm dramatically between them. “Go ahead.” His face broke into a thrilled smile as he shrugged out of his blazer. “You’re the first person I’ve shown myself to. I’m actually kinda nervous.”
“Minhyuk,” Y/N sighed impatiently. “Okay okay okay.” He pressed his lips together, taking a deep breath. “Can you hold this for me, please?” She held out her hand, not hiding the agitation. “Thanks.” He then proceeded to tug his t-shirt out of his pants. “Wh-Whoa there!” she sputtered, twirling around. His laugher rung out, mingling with the sounds of the ocean and her heart lurched at the musicality of it. She humphed, hugging his jacket to her chest. There were several splashes that exploded not too far beside her. Y/N quickly turned to face the water in time to see Minhyuk’s naked pale form reach a deep enough part where he could dive underwater. Looking down to the ground she took note of a pile of clothes.
He really was going with this whole shapeshifting thing. The water had to be about 50 degrees or so, pretty cold for any normal person. But Minhyuk cut through the water as if it was bath water. He breached the surface and waved to her. She reluctantly wiggled her fingers back, sure he couldn’t see her clearly in the darkness. “Ready?” he called out and she was surprised to find she could hear him clearly. “Sure,” she replied with an exasperated sigh. Minyuk dove again, but this time what broke the surface was not a human. A swift, strong dolphin shot up into the air in an arc. Y/N staggered back a few paces, momentarily shocked by the sight. The water glistened off the mammals body like luminescent glitter. She swore he winked at her before slicing headfirst back into the water. What had she just witnessed?? Panicking, she bolted down the shoreline the way they’d come. She heard her name on the ocean’s breeze, it’s pitch so much like Minhyuk’s, but she dared not look behind her. Shortly, she reached the area of the bonfire. Music and chatter surrounded her and she was overwhelmed by it all. Eyes wide she scanned the vicinity. Not finding Lucy, she stumbled towards the plank way that lead to the deck of the rental house. There she caught sight of her friend inebriated and grinding against Jeriko. Y/N rushed up to her and yanked at her arm frantically, “I need to go. We need to go!” “Hey, what’s your problem,” Jeriko scowled at Y/N. “Awe, come on, Y/N,” Lucy groaned. “I’m having a good time.” “I have to get outta here,” Y/N insisted. Lucy eyed her, momentary concern flashed in her eyes, but then Jeriko tightened his grip on her waist and annoyance returned. “Fine. I’ll just leave the door unlocked.” Turning to Jeriko, she poked a finger into his chest, demanding, “You. You better get her to our place in one piece. Got that?” “Sure,” he grinned. Looking from one to the other one last time, she spun on her heels and headed back to the small hotel room. Once there, she curled up in the bed without changing. Only then realizing she was still clutching onto Minhyuk’s blazer. Inhaling deeply the scent of Minhyuk mixed with the ocean, she let the tears slip past her lashes unchecked.                                              .·:*¨¨*:·.    .·:*¨¨*:·.
Y/N looked down at her phone as it vibrated for the zillionth time. They were all messages from Lucy.
Lucy (10:34am): you better be outta bed
Lucy (12:17pm): Did you have lunch?
Lucy (12:39pm): Helloooo!
Lucy (1:02 pm): Please love me T_T
Lucy (1:30pm): Meet me at the cafe. No ifs ands or buts. You better be there. Don’t leave me hanging!!
Y/N (1:31pm): Fine. If only to stop your spamming.
Lucy (1:33pm):  xoxo
She rolled slowly out of bed and stomped to the bathroom. She’d refused to step out claiming she was sick. Y/N just couldn’t find the energy to smile, to speak, to dress. She wished things had been different.
With time to think about Minhyuk and all he’d told then showed her, she felt despicable for how she’d reacted. Of course anyone would be shocked, but to just run away when he was trusting her with such a huge secret? That was just wrong.
She’d gone back twice. The drive was long, but she wanted so much to apologize. She’d walked up and down the beach, calling his name, but had no luck finding him. Maybe he’d gone back home to The Encante, the fear of a human telling the world of this discovery eating up his mind.
She let her face fall in her hands while tears filled her eyes. But then she sucked in a deep breath, dabbing at her eyes and nose with a tissue. She had to stop with the tears. She rushed to get ready, a much needed distraction to hold back the waterworks.
                                             .·:*¨¨*:·.    .·:*¨¨*:·.
The bell tinkled gently above her as she stepped into the small cafe, announcing her arrival. The baristas and cashier greeted her. Glancing around the room she found Lucy waving to get her attention. Y/N sent her a small smile before heading her way. When she was not but a few paces away she noticed Lucy was not alone.
Across from her, his back to Y/N, was a guy in a black beanie. She paused a second, her face neutral, as she looked at the back of the intruder. Y/N tried to ignore the agitation that was starting to come forward. She’d thought she’d be here with just Lucy. Why didn’t she say she’d invited Jeriko, too?
Noticing her hesitation, Lucy stood and reached out to take Y/N’s hand.
Urging her forward, she told her quietly, “I ran into this guy and he told me he was trying to find a Y/N. I asked him a few questions and turns out it’s you. That’s why I asked you to come here.”
Y/N frowned at Lucy. What guy would be looking for her? Stepping behind her, Lucy gripped Y/N’s shoulders and gently pushed her forward. Once she reached the table, she turned her to face the stranger. She couldn’t help but gasp, her hand coming up to her mouth a bit too late to cover the sound. She felt her heart kick start, thrumming giddily beneath her breast. “Hello, Y/N.” Even as he smiled at her, there was a tentativeness as he waited for the shock of the moment to wear off. “I’ll leave you two,” Lucy looked from one to the other, concern wrinkling her brow. The bell jingled over the door as Lucy exited, but still Y/N stared on unmoving. So many things she wanted to say, yet emotion knotted it all in her throat. “Maybe this was a mistake,” Minhyuk mumbled as he slid out of the booth taking her silence as rejection. “I’ll just go.” Bowing her head in shame, she allowed him to take one step past her. Mustering her courage, she grabbed his forearm, tugging him back to face her. Y/N wrapped her arms around his waist, hugging him tightly. “I’m really sorry, Minhyuk.” His shirt muffled her words, but he must have understood. A moment later he was hugging her back and she sighed feeling relief wash over her. He was warm and the scent of the sea lingered on him. As she drew her head back a bit, her eyes flit over his face searching for assurance that he truly had forgiven her. The wide golden smile that greeted her was all the confirmation she needed. “Let’s sit,” he suggested.
Sliding into the seat across from him she looked him over seeing how human he looked. If Minhyuk had not confessed, truthfully, she would have never known.
“I’m really sorry for running away,” she started. “Honestly, it really freaked me out, but once I got home I had time to think about it. That was a really brave thing you did, confiding such a secret. I can’t even imagine how nerve wracking it must have been wondering if I had said anything. I swear I will never tell anyone.”
“Thank you. I really appreciate that.” He leaned forward now, his eyes capturing hers. “Now that all is forgiven...where does that leave us?”
Y/N slid her hands across to take both of his in hers.
“There’s no manual out there that tells us how a human and an Encantado should be together, but I’m willing to find out along the way if you are.”
She watched Minhyuk’s eyes brighten.
“Yeah. I’d like that, too.”

Step inside Count Dracula’s coffin-filled castle of casements and casualties!
An excerpt from Decorating a Room of One’s Own: Conversations on Interior Design with Miss Havisham, Jane Eyre, Victor Frankenstein, Elizabeth Bennett, Ishmael, and Other Literary Notables by Susan Harlan
Name: Count Dracula, vampire to end all vampires (I see you, YA novels) Location: In the snowy mountaintops of Transylvania Size: Big Years lived in: That’s a hard question to answer without inspiring disbelief; owned
Although young lawyer Jonathan Harker had read about Transylvania in the British Library, nothing could prepare him for the real thing—or for the extraordinary architectural marvel he would encounter as the guest-slash-prisoner of Count Dracula.
The green sloping land around Dracula’s castle is full of forests and woods, with here and there steep hills crowned with clumps of trees or with farmhouses. These hills rise up to the lofty steeps of the Carpathian mountains, which tower above with all their glorious colors, deep blue and purple in the shadows of the peaks, green and brown where grass and rock mingle. A cock crows with preternatural shrillness through the clear morning air, and there are many jagged rocks and pointed crags.
“I love a jagged rock and a pointed crag,” Jonathan discourses. Nestled among the wild and hypnotic howls of wolves and the agonized cries of women, the ancient castle boasts broken walls, a gloomy courtyard, great round arches, worn-down stone carvings, imposing fireplaces, bars on the windows, and many chains and bolts. The library contains a large number of English books and periodicals, and Dracula enjoys lying on the sofa and reading riveting things like railway timetables and reports of royal commissions.
Jonathan is particularly struck by the brilliant moonlight that bathes the beautiful expanse.
“Anywhere can have excellent light,” he says. “But few places have moonlight capable of casting phantom shadows that fill you with a sense of doom.”
In spite of the castle’s extraordinary evidences of wealth, some “odd deficiencies” add to its nightmarish character. The enormous front door has no bell or knocker as you enter freely and of your own will, and there are no servants. On chilly nights—and really on most nights—the wind breathes cold through the broken battlements and casements.
“It’s a simple insulation issue, but I haven’t looked into it yet as I find I’m dealing with bigger issues,” Jonathan says. “Like the fact that the count crawls down the castle walls.”
The castle’s curb appeal is bolstered by a narrow ledge of stone that runs around the south side of the building. The stones are big and roughly cut, and the mortar has by process of time been washed away between them. Jonathan enjoys venturing out onto this ledge and, trying his best not to look at the awful depths below, gradually making his way to the window of Dracula’s room, which sports quirky details like a great heap of gold in one corner, odd things that seem never to have been used, and dust. Jonathan’s own room is well lighted and warmed with a log fire, and the centuries-old curtains, the upholstery of the chairs and sofa, and the hangings of his bed are of the costliest and most beautiful fabrics.
“I saw something like them in Hampton Court, but they were worn and frayed and moth-eaten,” he says. “So I said as much in my review on Yelp.”
A CHAT WITH JONATHAN
Dracula’s Style
He loves that his house is old and big. He himself is of an old family, and to live in a new house would kill him. “A house cannot be made habitable in a day, and after all, how many days go by to make up a century,” Dracula likes to say. He enjoys frowning walls and dark window openings. Of course, you want a castle that inspires fear, horror, and wonder—something a little vampy. But you don’t want to tip over into the domain of theme restaurants. This isn’t the World Famous Jekyll and Hyde Club, people. Cheap animated mummies are not okay.
Important Influences
We agree that the Bran, Poenari, and Corvin Castles are all quite nice. Bran thinks quite a lot of itself. But Dracula’s castle really takes its cue from the surrounding area. It’s quite impregnable on three sides as it’s located on the edge of a terrible precipice, and a stone falling from a window would fall a thousand feet without touching anything! Below, there are silver threads where the rivers wind in deep gorges through the forests. It is gorges. Get it? Christ, I should put that on a T-shirt.
Favorite Element
There is a portion of the castle that was evidently occupied in bygone days, judging from the relatively comfortable furniture that is now ravaged by time and moths. Sometimes I write there, at a little oak table, overcome by a loneliness that chills my heart and makes my nerves tremble. There is also a lovely dining room where the Count never dines. And the castle has a number of mirrors that seem to be defective. Maybe we should return them.
Potential Improvements
Dracula loves heavy doors, so we could put in more heavy doors. And maybe we could add more nails. You can’t go wrong with studding things with large iron nails.
What Friends Say
Mina would find the place intriguing, but she’s kind of preoccupied with a friend in England right now, so her thoughts tend more to garlic and wolves than interior design. But I think she’d say that wolf figurines can make nice accent pieces. There are some whimsical and not-horrifying options in Target’s Threshold line.
Biggest Embarrassment
Let me not think of it. My heart grows cold at the thought. It’s enough to inspire a violent fit of hysterics and uncontrollable emotional eruptions.
Biggest Indulgence
I would say the ancient, ruined, tomb-like chapel at the bottom of a dark, tunnel-like passage through which comes a deathly, sickly odor of old earth newly turned. The space is decorated with fragments of old coffins. Transylvanian nobles don’t like to think that their bones may be among the common dead. No, siree. The count has his own box, with a lid pierced with holes. It is bespoke.
Biggest Challenge
Sexy lady vampires, definitely. They are terrifying.
Best Advice
Steer clear of trends that refuse to die. Take terrariums, for example. You might think: Oh, they’re sort of creepy, these little self-contained worlds of rocks and plants. Kind of Transylvanian. They might add an element of terror, dreadful pleasure, and languorous ecstasy. But no: Dracula absolutely does not allow terrariums in the castle. You get a terrarium, and it’s a slippery slope to macramé. And that’s some diabolical wickedness.
Tumblr media
What would Little Women be without the charms of the March family’s cozy New England home? Or Wuthering Heights without the ghost-infested Wuthering Heights? Getting lost in the setting of a good book can be half the pleasure of reading, and Decorating a Room of One’s Own brings literary backdrops to the foreground in this wryly affectionate satire of interior design reporting. English professor and humorist Susan Harlan spoofs decorating culture by reimagining its subject as famous fictional homes and “interviews” the residents who reveal their true tastes: Lady Macbeth’s favorite room in the castle, or the design inspiration behind Jay Gatsby’s McMansion of unfulfilled dreams. Featuring 30 entries of notable dwellings, sidebars such as “Setting Up an Ideal Governess’s Room,” and four-color spot illustrations throughout, Decorating a Room of One’s Own is the ideal book for readers who appreciate fine literature and a good end table.

RP Partner Request
The tree branches snarled and gnashed as a sharp breeze cut through the night. The wind gutted caches of leaves in varying states of decay, tossing them up into dust devils. It was as if the wind triumphed in its ability to trespass where it wasn’t wanted.
A stretch of bare, clawing branches outlined a road like a gaping rib cage. Between them, a beast stalked the road. It dragged a lifeless body with short, violent tugs, leaving a stark trail of blood gleaming in the moonlight like a single, corrugated artery. It walked like a man, moved like a predator. Silver streaks of moonlight flashed through the leaves, revealing that the beast was dressed like a vagrant, covered in tattered brown, grey, and black rags. A ragged hood hid wisps of white hair that obscured a set of menacing red eyes. The moonlight cast a long, ominous shadow that stretched off into the distance, making the creature’s form appear bigger than it was.
The beast moved with purpose, walking to a massive, ornate, pillared structure barred by massive gates. With a touch, the gates swung open, and the doorway allowed him entrance.
The sadistic grin that peeked out from the beast’s hood was complemented by a cruel glint in his eyes. The traveler bared a set of perfect, pointed, ivory teeth, hinting at insanity.

Good morning, afternoon or evening from Britain! My name is Nefarious, though Nef will do just fine, and I’m here to continue my never ending quest to quench the thirst that rattles through my being - the search for long-term roleplay partners!
The above passage may have peaked your interest; if it is, I humbly ask that you continue through this message, with the hopes that you and I will be a match made in heaven. The passage was taken from an old encounter, one that I would be willing to share fully with you upon contact, along with another, as an example of my seductive abilities.
While I’ll try to keep this message short and sweet, I cannot make any promises.
  Who am I?
A 19 year old roleplayer who has been in the game for far too long, and yet finds herself with no stories to fall back on after a long day of hard work.
  How do I roleplay?
Discord or email tends to be my preference, with the former being particularly enjoyable due to snappy response times when devising a plotline, but the latter allowing for easier organisation of longer posts. I tend to write replies on the longer, descriptive side of the spectrum, but I never expect my partner to match my lengths - merely send enough for me to work with. Due to work, I strive to reply at least once a day (but will always warn you when it’s going to be a bit late), and can often reply multiple times a day when I’m very invested in the RP idea and my character(s).
  What do I enjoy?
Mostly anything, with only a couple of points that will be highlighted below that I’m not open to. As it is, and as you may have guessed from my introduction, I have a huge love of the darker, gritty themes, but am equally open to the softer, lighter tales of love and growth. I roleplay both in original and fandom universes (a list of the latter will be included), and can juggle multiple characters at a time. I’m also able to play any gender, and pairing with ease, having no real inclination towards any. Due to being over 18, I’m also capable and comfortable with smut, which can be discussed with limits upon further contact.
  Some fandoms I particularly love:
Harry Potter (Any era except Next Gen)
MCU
DCU
Batman (Games)
Dragon Age (Any game) - this is something I’m absolutely craving!
Wolf Amongst Us
Borderlands (Any game)
Bioshock (Any game)
Walking Dead (Telltale games and TV series)
Twilight
Resident Evil
Underworld
If I haven’t said one you’d be interested, ask and we may be able to work something out!
Some original settings I particularly love:
Fantasy (Urban, High, Medieval, etc)
Sci-Fi (Futuristic, Steampunk, etc)
Mythology (Greek, Egyptian, Norse, etc)
Action
Romance
Supernatural (Werewolves, Vampires, etc)
Dark Themes (Murder, Psycho’s, Drugs, etc)
If I haven't noted a setting you're craving, suggest it to me!
What do I not enjoy? Slice of life tends to become boring very quickly for a player like me, and thus is on my “do not enjoy” list. I like following the lives of characters, but when those characters live boring lives, I can’t stick around for long! Another thing I do not do is play Canon characters in Canon x Canon pairings. I can happily play Canons as side characters to fill out the story when in fandom worlds, but I strictly play OC’s in pairings. While I may be convinced to do Canon x OC, this really depends on the fandom and characters you’re interested in, since I’ll likely only be comfortable playing characters that I know well.
  What would I really like?
I’d love to find one or two roleplayers to explore the darker side of certain fandoms, in particular Harry Potter and MCU/DCU. I enjoy playing “ill” characters, such as those suffering from mental illnesses, and exploring the harsher sides of light-hearted settings, for example, the creature community within the HP world, and how they deal with the Wizards hatred. By contrast, I would do anything for a Dragon Age centric RP. This can be placed in any era, within or outside of the canon games, touching upon subjects noted in the storylines (which can be followed or morphed), or delving into the more unknown subjects (such as the Gods, etc). AU’s in these settings are also welcome - offer anything you have in mind!
  How can you contact me?
When you contact me, please introduce yourself and explain what you’re looking for. While you don’t need any fully developed ideas, if you arrive with subjects to discuss, we’ll get along fine. On the other hand, if you contact me with the idea that you’d like to do whatever I’m interested in, we’re probably not going to get along very well, aha. I look forward to hearing from many of you!

Summary: A short background fic to Argent Night detailing the events of Rus’s past - particularly pertaining to how he became a vampire, and the years following his transition.
WARNINGS: This chapter contains graphic rape - please do not read it if it’s something you’re not comfortable with. The events of Argent Night will still make sense without this fic--so please do not feel obligated to read it.
Chapter two will not contain rape, and can act as a standalone. (It does still deal with some mildly disturbing themes, however).

Papyrus pulled his coat tighter around his shoulders as a chill breeze stirred the night air, swaying the long grass of the open fields that stretched for miles around him. Creeping shadows and dark, lifeless shapes loomed over the rocky pathway, and he kept his head bowed, trying to ignore the feeling of watchful eyes on his back. The gnarled branches of the scattered barren trees creaked in the wind, and Papyrus shuddered. He began to walk a little faster, unsettled by the eerily quiet night. The dim glow ahead promised a warm fire and a hearty meal, and Papyrus was more than eager to escape the desolate wilderness of the Ruins.
In the distance, beyond the small cottage shrouded in a grove of decaying trees, cold silver moonlight touched the peaks of pale mountains. By the time Papyrus reached the small garden that encased the cottage, he was shivering—both from the cold bite of winter and the deadly fright of the darkness.
The curtains had been drawn over the cottage’s windows, but Papyrus could see a golden light filtering through the seams that promised warmth. He knocked softly on the heavy wooden door, before curling back in on himself, his bones rattling.
The door opened almost immediately, and Papyrus felt some of the tension leave him at the sight of the large figure standing on the threshold. “asgore,” he breathed in relief, grinning up at the enormous, furry monster through the chattering of his teeth. “h-hey.”
Asgore seemed stunned for a moment. “Papyrus? I wasn’t…” But gathering himself, his face broke into a wide smile. Unexpectedly, he wrapped his arms around Papyrus, enveloping him in a crushing hug. Papyrus squirmed a little as he was pulled against Asgore’s chest. “How wonderful of you to come! If I had known, I would have made preparations. It’s been so long since…” He trailed off, quickly shaking his head. “Listen to me rambling! You must be freezing. Please, come in. I’ll make you some tea.”
Asgore guided Papyrus inside, his large arm still wrapped around his shoulders. Papyrus was greeted by the warmth of a crackling fire in the hearth, and the smell of fresh mint leaves stewing in a pot on the stove. He glanced up at Asgore. “sorry, am i… interrupting something?”
“No, no, not at all,” Asgore assured him. “I’ll always have time for you, Papyrus. Always. Here, take a seat, I’ll bring your tea to you—oh, and can I get you a blanket? You’re still shivering!”
Papyrus smiled, but shook his head. “there’s no need. thank you, asgore.”
“Are you certain?” Asgore probed. “I don’t want you to be uncomfortable.”
Laughing softly, Papyrus gave another shake of his head. “really—i’m fine.”
“Well, if you insist… I’d better get your tea brewing. I won’t be long!” Asgore wandered into the kitchen, still muttering to himself. Sitting on the large sofa in front of the fireplace, Papyrus pulled his knees to his chest, letting his eye sockets fall closed. The warmth of the fire made his bones tingle pleasantly, expelling the lingering chill of the night air outside. He could hear Asgore bustling around in the kitchen, the sound accompanied by the chink of porcelain crockery.
Papyrus had been a little nervous about visiting Asgore again. It had been months since he’d last made the long journey from Snowdin to the Ruins, and part of him had feared Asgore had forgotten him.
But now that he was here, it felt like being home. He and Asgore had been friends for years, and Papyrus had long held a special fondness for the strange hermit. There was widespread belief through the kingdom that no one lived in the Ruins—but for small, insignificant scavengers among the rocks and in the mountains. But here Asgore dwelled—alone in his quaint cottage. Papyrus had been quite surprised when he’d stumbled upon it—but he was thankful he had. Asgore was a dear friend.
When Asgore re-entered the room, he was carrying a tray holding a steaming floral teapot, and a warm mug. He placed them on the table in front of Papyrus. “Oh no—don’t worry yourself,” he said quickly, as Papyrus reached for the teapot. “I’ll do it for you.”
“oh—uh, thank you,” Papyrus said, leaning back. Asgore beamed at him as he poured his tea. Handing him the mug, he sat beside him on the sofa, watching closely as he sipped it.
“How does it taste?” he asked eagerly, his crimson eyes bright.
“great,” Papyrus said, grinning. “mint? and…?”
“Honeysuckle,” Asgore told him proudly. Papyrus blinked, and Asgore laughed. “I know how fond you are of sweet things—I’ve had it sitting in my pantry for months.”
“that’s… awfully kind of you,” Papyrus said, taking another long sip from his mug. The warm liquid travelled through his bones, quenching the cold ache the journey had left. He sighed, sinking back into the soft cushions of the sofa. “so, how have you been?” he asked. “i—i’m sorry it’s been so long since i’ve visited. my brother…”
Asgore waved him off, shaking his head. “Oh, there’s no need for that, Papyrus. I’m only glad you’re here now. I have truly missed you, my dear friend.”
Much to Papyrus’ surprise, Asgore leaned close, looping an arm around his shoulders and tugging him against his side. Beneath his thick robe, Papyrus could feel the hardened muscle of Asgore’s body. Strangely, he emitted no warmth. But his embrace was comforting nonetheless, and Papyrus leaned into the touch, an involuntary hum of contentment building in his chest.
He remained beneath Asgore’s tender hold as he drank his tea, nothing breaking the silence between them but the crackle of the warm fire, and the howl of the wind outside. Papyrus could feel himself slowly drifting into a pleasant doze, the warm mug of tea resting on his lap. He’d been certain Asgore had fallen asleep too, until he interrupted the silence by asking, “Are you alright, Papyrus? Are you warm enough? Can I get you anything to eat?”
“don’t bother yourself,” Papyrus said softly, snuggling closer to Asgore. Something pleasant blossomed in his chest as Asgore rumbled softly, holding him tighter. “this… this is nice,” Papyrus whispered.
Asgore murmured his agreement, pressing his muzzle to the crown of Papyrus’ skull. Papyrus could feel his warm breaths against the bone, shivering as he dipped his head and pressed his mouth into the nape of Papyrus’ neck. His soul fluttering with a mixture of excitement and nerves, Papyrus went still, swallowing. “You smell good,” Asgore purred, his voice barely audible above the crackling fire. “You are good, Papyrus… so good…”
Papyrus could feel his face heating at Asgore’s words, magic rising to his cheekbones. He couldn’t hide his small smile, lowering his gaze as Asgore pressed himself closer. “It’s always wonderful having you here,” Asgore went on. “Stars, I’ve missed you, Papyrus. I’ve missed you so much.” His voice had taken on an almost guttural edge, and his breathing had become heavy.
Papyrus was still holding his mug of tea—it seemed to be the only thing preventing their bodies from being flush against each other. Asgore had Papyrus pressed against the sofa’s arm, and he was leaning over him with no room for personal space.
Papyrus was almost inclined not to mind—but the press of Asgore’s mouth against his neck drew him to a halt. “a-asgore—maybe we should slow down. i’m not sure if—” Papyrus broke off with a gasp as he felt something wet slide across his cervical vertebrae. Asgore grunted softly, cupping Papyrus’ skull in one of his large paws.
“Oh, you’re so sweet, Papyrus,” he murmured, his face still buried in Papyrus’ neck. “You’re perfect.”
Papyrus laughed softly, though the sound was tainted with a hint of anxiety. He attempted to shift away from Asgore, but the large monster had him trapped in his arms, his grip gentle, but tight around Papyrus’ back. “asgore, i—” Papyrus’ breath hitched as Asgore’s tongue caught on a sensitive notch of bone. “i think this m-might be too much. i—i don’t…”
Asgore hushed him, drawing back slightly to look at Papyrus. The red of his eyes seemed somehow brighter, and he wore a heated expression. Carefully, he pried Papyrus’ mug from his shaking hands, placing it on the table beside them. He ran his thumb over Papyrus’ jaw, cupping his face in his large hand. “It’s alright,” he whispered, sliding a hand beneath Papyrus’ legs to lift them onto the sofa. “It’s okay, you have nothing to worry about.”
Asgore dipped his head again, resuming his gentle laving of Papyrus’ neck. Papyrus, now completely pinned beneath Asgore’s body, began to panic a little. He attempted to push Asgore away, but Asgore barely seemed to notice. “asgore,” he whispered, a hint of urgency creeping into his voice. “i don’t think we should… i mean—this is nice—but i’m not sure if i’m ready t-to…”
“Relax,” Asgore breathed, his sharp canines catching on Papyrus’ vertebrae. “I’ll be gentle, Papyrus—don’t worry. I’ll take good care of you.”
Papyrus started to struggle, writhing beneath Asgore desperately—but in vain. Asgore wouldn’t budge. “w-wait! please, asgore. i don’t—”
“Quiet, dear,” Asgore growled softly, running his thumb over Papyrus’ cheekbone. “Now, this may hurt a bit—but it’ll only be for a bit, I promise.” He leaned in again, his teeth grating over Papyrus’ collarbone. “Goodness, you smell nice—you smell delicious. It’s been so long since I’ve—” Asgore broke off, inhaling deeply. “Try to relax, my love. It’ll make it a lot less painful.”
Before Papyrus could even begin to question what Asgore meant, an abrupt, crippling pain lanced through his neck. He tried to scream, but the sound was muffled by Asgore’s large paw pressing over his mouth. As Asgore’s fangs pierced his bone, a sickening crack echoed off the walls of the small room, and Papyrus squirmed, fruitlessly trying to pry him off.
‘stop,’ he tried to say, but no sound but a stifled gurgling escaped him. He could feel something wet oozing down his neck, accompanied by more pain as Asgore changed the angle of his bite, sinking his teeth deeper into the bone.
Asgore groaned softly as he drank the magic leaking from the throbbing wound at Papyrus’ neck. He lifted Papyrus from the couch, enveloping him in his thickly muscled arms and holding him tightly against his solid chest. Papyrus’ struggles had already begun to weaken, his limbs growing heavy and slack. His whimpers were faint and his head ached as he lost more and more magic.
Just as he’d begun to slip into unconsciousness, Asgore released his neck, cradling his head as he withdrew. Through his clouded vision, Papyrus could see his own magic staining Asgore’s fangs (had they always been so sharp?). He choked out a whimper as Asgore leaned down to lick the spent magic from his neck, humming gently as his tongue pressed between Papyrus’ vertebrae. Sighing in satisfaction, Asgore closed his eyes—now a dull yellow. “Thank you, Papyrus,” he breathed.
Papyrus couldn’t move. His bones felt like they were made of lead, and his head felt as if it was full of sand—harsh and grating against the inside of his skull. He let out a hollow groan of protest as Asgore leaned down to kiss him. His tongue pressed into Papyrus’ empty mouth, finding every ridge of bone and soaking it in his saliva—mingled with Papyrus’ own magic. When he withdrew, he was smiling—the same smile he’d given Papyrus when he’d arrived on his doorstep not twenty minutes ago. The same smile he’d always given him.
Asgore wrapped his arms around Papyrus and hugged him to his chest. “Oh, Papyrus—that was amazing,” he whispered, exhaling in contentment. “Your magic is… it’s perfect.” Asgore lifted Papyrus into his arms, carrying him across the room and into the passage. “Come. Let me clean you up. I’ll take care of you, my love. I’ll look after you.”
Papyrus was limp in Asgore’s arms, with no strength remaining in him to fight back. His mind was a haze of pain and horror, and he could still feel magic dripping from the wound at his neck. He groaned quietly as Asgore lowered him onto the bed, but his voice was weak and barely audible. He tried to sit up, but found himself virtually immobile.
The room was dark, and Papyrus could only make out Asgore’s silhouette above him. He was standing still, looking over Papyrus, as if in thought. Slowly, he moved his hand downward to rest on Papyrus’ hip. It was only when his touch shifted lower, that Papyrus realised his magic had manifested itself.
Mortified, he tried to speak—to argue, to protest, to beg—but no words came out, only a soft, gargled moan. “There’s no need to be embarrassed, Papyrus,” Asgore said, gently, tilting Papyrus’ chin and forcing him to meet his gaze. His yellow eyes were tender, and his smile was soft.
Papyrus felt sick.
“It’s a common reaction to a vampire bite—and my venom is quite potent.”
Vampire bite?
Horror struck Papyrus as quickly as panic did, and he began to sob—the sound leaving him as nothing more than weak, strained gasps. He tried to writhe out of Asgore’s grip as he rested his hand on Papyrus’ ilium, stroking Papyrus’ magic tenderly through his clothes. “It’s alright, hush now, I’ll take care of you. Don’t worry, Papyrus. I’ll take good care of you.”
Papyrus tried to shake his head, but he could barely move, the venom in his system draining every shred of his strength. He wished the bite had been enough to render him unconscious as well, but his mind seemed stuck firmly in the dull state between sleeping and waking—paralysed, but aware of every unwanted stimulus prickling across his bones.
Asgore carefully removed Papyrus’ pants to reveal the soft glow of his summoned cunt. He smoothed a finger over the folds, and Papyrus twitched. Asgore looked up at him, his eyes bright and smiling. “It’s lovely, Papyrus. It’s perfect.” He climbed onto the bed and knelt over Papyrus, unbuckling his pants. Papyrus groaned desperately, his words stuck in his throat. He felt helpless. Pathetic.
Disgusting.
Through the faint light, Papyrus could see Asgore’s cock. It was huge. Far larger and far thicker than anything (or anyone) he’d ever experimented with. He whimpered brokenly as Asgore leaned over him, running his tongue over Papyrus’ parted teeth, and slowly dipping into his mouth. His cock rubbed lightly over Papyrus’ labia. Papyrus wanted to cry out—to plead with Asgore to stop. It wasn’t going to fit.
It only occurred to him then—with Asgore bearing over him—how massive Asgore was. A beast of a monster—with arms like sturdy pillars, strong enough to crush Papyrus’ bones into dust. Papyrus could feel the solid muscles of Asgore’s chest through his shirt. He was taller than Papyrus too—and at least three times as wide.
Papyrus felt pathetic. Incapacitated or not, he was completely at Asgore’s mercy
Asgore lifted Papyrus’ legs, holding them over his shoulder with one hand. In the moments he took to line himself up, Papyrus began to cry, wet tears trailing down his cheeks without so much as a sob escaping him. Asgore’s yellow eyes fixed on Papyrus’ face, and he thrust in with a grunt.
Papyrus screamed.
Or at least, he tried to. All that left him was a faint choke—pained and hopelessly weak. His magic was dry, and the stretch of Asgore inside him burned. Pain shot through his pelvis as Asgore began to thrust, his movements punctuated by deep, rumbling growls. Papyrus felt like a ragdoll in Asgore’s arms, his body slack and useless as Asgore took him at a brutal pace. His magic felt as if it was going to tear, sharp jolts of agony wrenching his entire body.
Asgore moaned, holding Papyrus against him. “Oh—oh, Papyrus. Oh, you feel wonderful—you’re perfect, Papyrus—you’re perfect.” His words were broken and heavy, carnal grunts leaving him with each vigorous thrust. His thick arms encased Papyrus’ body, their grip tight and crushing.
He halted for a moment, adjusting Papyrus so that he was seated on his lap, before he began to bounce him rigorously. Papyrus fell limp against his shoulder, his head hanging heavily against Asgore’s neck. Something wet trickled down his femur, but he had neither the fervour nor the desire to consider what it might be.
Outside, Papyrus could hear the rustling grass and the branches of the old trees creaking in the wind. Through the window, he could faintly make out the pale glow of moonlight kissing the tips of the faraway mountains. He could see shadows creeping across the windowpanes. He could almost feel the wind’s chill.
Inside, Papyrus could hear the rustling of sheets, and the creaking of bedsprings. He could hear Asgore’s animalistic grunts, along with the dull slap of skin on bone. He could feel Asgore’s tongue on his neck. He could feel the light touches of Asgore’s fingers over his spine. He could feel Asgore inside him, splitting him apart.
Papyrus barely noticed when Asgore sank his teeth into him again, fresh magic spilling onto the bedsheets and staining them a murky gold. The warm liquid seeped down Rus’s ribs and spine as Asgore drank. Papyrus’ entire body was engulfed in pain—dull, aching pain; sharp, piercing pain; cold, empty pain.
Asgore suddenly released a predatory growl, clinging to Papyrus until Papyrus thought he might break. Warmth flooded his cunt, and fresh tears fell from his eyes. Asgore moaned, whispering his name desperately as he held onto him, planting kisses down his cracked neck and collarbone.
“Stars, Papyrus—oh, Papyrus. You’re beautiful. You’re perfect. Oh, thank you, Papyrus. Thank you.”
Papyrus prayed for the release of sleep, but his soul ran erratically in his chest, refusing to allow him to slip into unconsciousness. Asgore gently slipped out of him, and Papyrus felt something bitterly warm seeping from his stinging cunt. Looking down, he noticed a hint of red mingled with Asgore’s seed.
His own blood, he realised.
Carefully laying him down on the bed, Asgore tucked a pillow under Papyrus’ head, kissing every inch of him he seemed able to reach. Papyrus lay still and closed his eyes. He vaguely felt the bed moving as Asgore climbed off it, and heard him padding across the room. The sound of a door closing was followed by cold silence.
Even if Papyrus had been able to move, he wouldn’t have. The slick drip of magic down his neck and femurs left every bone in his body crawling. Everything ached, and his throat felt dry—despite the fact that he’d barely been able to make a sound the entire time. He heard a rattling sound that he took to be the wind at first—only to realise that it was his own bones, shaking.
His magic had yet to dispel itself, and Papyrus could still feel Asgore’s seed leaking out of it as it throbbed and twitched. The bites littering his neck and shoulders stung and itched, and his entire body ached from magic loss. He lay there, covered in filth and the salt of his own tears until Asgore returned.
He felt Asgore’s hands on his chest, resting there for a moment. His touch was tender and soft, his thumb stroking soft patterns over Papyrus’ sternum. Then he began to unbutton Papyrus’ shirt, until his ribs were bare, the chill of the night air weaving between them and making Papyrus shiver.
Papyrus wanted nothing more than to keep his eyes shut against whatever further defiling Asgore enacted upon him. He wanted to fall unconscious; to lose his sense of feeling; to disappear. But when Asgore moved to kneel over him again, Papyrus opened his eye sockets to look at him.
A sick bubble of nausea pulsed in his chest.
Asgore wore a gentle smile, his eyes bright yellow and tender. He cupped Papyrus’ face, stroking the tears away from his cheeks. “Summon your soul for me, Papyrus,” he ordered, quietly.
Papyrus stopped breathing, and his mind came to a screeching halt. He stared at Asgore, disbelieving. This… this was too far. No. He wouldn’t do this. Surely—
“Papyrus. I’d rather not have to do it for you—but I will.”
Papyrus tried to shake his head; tried to move; to scream; to fight; to do anything that might put a stop to this. But he was helpless. His body was paralysed, and his words couldn’t form.
Sighing, Asgore lifted his hand, and Papyrus felt something sharp and cold wrenching at his chest. He choked sharply, the sound weak and strangled. His soul hovered above his ribcage, its glow dull.
Asgore stared at it, his gaze frighteningly intense. Something primal flickered in his eyes, and his hold was firm as he grasped Papyrus’ soul. Cold dread filled Papyrus as he stared at Asgore and his bones quaked violently. Tears seemed beyond him.
Asgore was no longer smiling—he barely even looked at Papyrus as he brought the soul to his face, breathing in the scent of it. Papyrus shivered at the touch of his cold breath on its surface. Asgore’s lips pulled back over his teeth, a snarl curling his muzzle. His fangs extended, dripping with vile saliva.
When Asgore’s teeth pierced the surface of Papyrus’ soul, a harsh jolt rocked Papyrus’ entire body. His back arched off the bed, and he screamed—this time, not even Asgore’s venom was enough to keep the sound sedated. The noise of his cries sounded foreign to him—like those of a wounded animal in the night. Papyrus writhed and fought, his body involuntarily twitching at odd angles.  The pain was white hot—and yet somehow freezing cold at the same time.
Magic sprayed from the delicate organ, leaking onto Papyrus’ ribs through Asgore’s teeth. Asgore seemed enraptured, his eyes closed as bliss overcame his features. He sunk his teeth deeper—deeper—deeper. Papyrus felt as if he might shatter. Blood and magic filled his mouth as his soul was drained, and he coughed and choked weakly.
As his soul slowly turned translucent, his struggles became faint and inconsistent, the strength seeping from his limbs. When at last his conscious mind caved to the pain, his body went still, and the world turned black around him.
 ****
The first thing Papyrus noticed when he awoke, was how cold he felt. He tried to wrap his arms around himself—only to find them pinned to his sides. Something large and heavy was pressed against his back, enveloping him tightly. He soon relinquished his struggles when he realised he would not be released any time soon.
It was only when his mind slowly regained its coordination that he became aware of the grating ache in his chest. His soul felt empty and raw—as if someone had taken a knife and scraped all the magic from it; and his bones felt dry and withered, lacking any true essence. He grunted softly in discomfort as the heavy arms tightened around him.
Something gruff rumbled against him, and Papyrus shuddered at the warm breaths on the back of his neck. “Good morning, Papyrus,” Asgore hummed.
Papyrus stilled, dread soaking his withered soul. Instinctively, he began to fight against Asgore’s hold, kicking and writhing in an attempt to escape. “Shh, it’s alright,” Asgore whispered, holding him steady. “Calm down, Papyrus. You’re alright, calm down.”
“y-you…” Papyrus swallowed and went limp, squeezing his sockets shut. “you killed me.” He choked on a sob, terror clutching his empty soul. He could still feel his own dry magic caking his neck and ribs—his body was covered in it. His soul throbbed desperately, a burning ache surging through his bones. “ah—i-it hurts,” he whimpered. “w-what did you do to me?”
Asgore hushed him gently, rubbing soft circles over Papyrus’ jaw with his thumb. “You’ll be fine, Papyrus. You’re just hungry.”
“n-no,” Papyrus said, frustrated. “i’m not—i should be dead.”
He felt Asgore’s grip on him relax slightly, before the great monster released a tired sigh. He turned Papyrus over, holding his gaze steadily. “You’re not dead. You’re in transition.”
“t-transition…?”
“You’re becoming a vampire, Papyrus—just like me.” Asgore smiled, as if Papyrus ought to be thrilled by the fact. He leaned in and touched his lips to Papyrus’ forehead in a soft kiss.
But Papyrus was frozen. His soul—his dead soul—was cold with dread. He could feel himself shaking, and again, his chest clenched painfully, reminding him how hungry he was. He couldn’t move or speak—couldn’t breathe (did he even need to breathe now?).
When Asgore carefully lifted him into a sitting position, Papyrus let him. He didn’t react as Asgore began to dress him in fresh clothing—far too big on him, but it was hardly important. Even when Asgore’s fingers grazed his pelvis, Papyrus barely flinched.
Everything hurt. His head, his bones, his soul—dull, burning pain scorched his entire body. A sick, churning feeling ignited in his chest as Asgore pressed their mouths together, running his tongue along Papyrus’ clenched teeth (Papyrus could feel a strange twinge in his canines—a sort of itch). “Come. Let’s find you someone to eat,” Asgore said at last, taking Papyrus’ hand and guiding him off the bed. When Papyrus didn’t move, Asgore turned, offering him a consolatory smile. “There’s no need to be afraid, Papyrus. You’ve been reborn—today marks the first day of the rest of your life.”

The New Jersey Zombie Walk broke the Guinness World Record™ for 'WORLD'S LARGEST GATHERING OF ZOMBIES' in 2010 AND THEN AGAIN IN 2013!

In adoration of’ Riverdale’–and the teenage drama’s groundbreaking homosexuals fornication
Riverdale wouldnt be a teen soap without its fair share of pining. Although the CW drama borrows the layer of David Lynchs Twin Peaks , which fits its Archie comic nature like a close-fisted angora sweater, its firmly in the habit of reveals like My So-Called Life and Veronica Mars. You know, where fresh-faced juveniles want what they cant have.
Betty Cooper( Lili Reinhart) and Veronica Lodge( Camilla Mendez) both only happen to passion the same thought: Archie Andrews( KJ Apa ), a classical shy-but-silent jock with a Baz Luhrmann dye job. Jughead Jones( Cole Sprouse) will do anything it takes to keep the town drive-in open, the kind of residence where they show a double feature of Reservoir Dogs and Easy Rider on a Saturday night.
But the only person in municipality who seems to be going what the hell is crave is Kevin Keller( Casey Cott ). While other reputations in Riverdale wait by their telephone for that certain someone to call, Kevin has something to say when it sounds. During the substantiates pilot, the teenage facilitates a hookup with a closeted jock appointed Moose( although one premises not legally so ), whom Kevin claims is every inch of his name. The two share an clandestine skinny dip. Kevin would be living his best life, if not for the fact that the two uncover a dead body during their moonlight tryst.
Riverdale flip-flop the dialogue on the category by making Kevin the only being in a 50 -mile radius with a healthy, developed fornication life. Archie has a bad fantasy with Miss Grundy( Sarah Habel ), a music teach who is about 30 years and one impending statutory rape belief collected from the priggish old maid of the comics. While their classmates fornication it up, lesbian characters in youth-oriented dramas very rarely get to enjoy the perks of has become a teen. The homosexual BFF is a snappy dresser and ready with a sassy one-liner, but he rarely goes his Molly Ringwald moment. He might get a two-second kiss with his longtime beau in season 3–faces crushed together to suggest intimacy–before producers cut to black.
To mention a catchy quantity from fellow CW substantiate Crazy Ex-Girlfriend : You know the trope/ in storytelling its a norm. TV Tropes announces it But Not Too Gay. To avoid the wrath of censors, LGBTQ personas in prime-time TV are generally as chaste as bingo nighttime at the local convent. The gays dont get to have much fun. In its first few seasons, Glee s Kurt( Chris Colfer) was too busy fending off academy bullies to get some. Seasons after Cam( Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell( Jesse Tyler Ferguson) are eventually allowed to kiss on Modern Family , love still wonder whether the peculiar pair isnt privately cosplaying The War of the Roses .
LGBTQ woos on displays as varied as Gossip Girl , True Blood , Brooklyn Nine-Nine , Ugly Betty , and The Wire never got the screen hour allotted to their straight equivalents. Tara and Willow hugged a lot on Buffy the Vampire Slayer , and author Joss Whedon had to threaten to leave the depict to get the network to allow the couple to kiss. Game of Thrones liberally depicts women being sexually assaulted, but when it comes to the male bedroom partnership with Oberyn Martell( Pedro Pascal ), a pansexual libertine, many of the raunchiest minutes are implied.
If gay sees have been waiting for some equal opportunity boom boom pow, Riverdale is ready to let them get in on the action. The prove, been developed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa( Carrie ), is knowing when it comes to homosexual teenage stereotypes and treats Kevins storyline with a meta glint. When the specific characteristics is first introduced, Veronicaa rich daughter looking for a fresh start at her new institution after her Bernie Madoff-like parent is imprisonedloudly proclaims that she and Kevin are destined for Will and Graceland. Lets be best friends, she suggests. As if to further call attention the archetype, aim girl Cheryl Blossom( Madelaine Petsch) requests Kevin if the gay BFF is still a event in a later occurrence.
From the first second hes on-screen, its clear Kevin isnt your usual sexless chum. Snooping on Bettys comely next door neighbor, Archie, through the describe draperies, he commentaries that our crimson-coiffed hero went red-hot. Should you be wondering if the moment is a reference to Hitchcock, a space is never exactly a opening in Riverdale . If theres any analysi of the demonstrate to be had, its that Aguirre-Sacasa grows the pastiche up to 11.
Straight male references have gotten to be horny since the boys of Porkys detected the glee of the gloryhole, but its frankly revolutionary to picture a homosexual teens devouring libido dealt with at the same solemn admiration. Kevin gets more activity than a toilet seat. After sharing a too-long search with a fellow theatergoer on the night of the drive-ins last hurrah, the two are making out just minutes later. The minor even gets the talk from his father–who simply wants his son to be safe while hes conveying his age-appropriate counsels. The two discuss the dos and donts of cruising. Boys like Archie get to talk about their sexuality lives on Tv all the time, but the Kevins of the world never do.
Kevin, a fan favourite from the comics, is nothing short of a discovery, and it would be alluring to say theres never been a character fairly like him. This is both true and not true. Television has been realise great strides in recent years to allow LGBTQ people to have fully realized lives, whether thats inside or outside of the bedroom.
Shonda Rhimes, the woman behind every present you adore, has been a trailblazer for depicting gay friendship with unflinching honest. Rhimes has brought us complex, three-dimensional, same-sex relationships on appearances like Greys Anatomy and Scandal , and she has claimed her formula is easy. There are no gay incidents, she tweeted responding to a viewer complaint about the frequent bouts of interracial sodomy on How to Get Away With Murder . There are scenes with people in them. Starring Viola Davis as a high-powered law professor, Murder likewise brought us videos first male-on-male analingus. Conservative groups withdrew to their respective fainting chairs, but the evidences ratings have yet to suffer.
The realistic and even seductive intercourse on establishes like Transparent and Looking show weve emanated a long way in a decade. Noah and Luke, the resident lesbian supercouple on As the World Turns , attained headlines when they shared their first smooch in 2007. But after that kiss, the two expend a lot of season exchanging longing looks–which isnt exactly what all those headless torsos are looking for on Grindr. Followers held a kitty to see how long it would be before their lips were reunited. If your answer was 211 daytimes in between smooches, you prevailed. Congratulations.
Television, though, still has a lot of work to do when it comes to treating same-sex intimacy not as a inhibition but a fact of life. On shows like Girls , Youre the Worst , Broad City , and Westworld , the sexuality between its heterosexual personas is a default, the logical , no-big-deal judgment of meet at a rail and going home together or acquiring a charity robot from a futuristic theme park. The happening that Jessa( Jemima Kirke) and Adam( Adam Driver) have so much better copulation that it alienates their friends is treated as a comic nuisance but nothing out of the ordinary for two self-absorbed 20 -somethings wholive in Brooklyn, New York.
Riverdale s randy gay teenager is certainly groundbreaking, but the real progress “il come when” Kevin taking a dip with a stupidly nicknamed jock no longer seems like a big deal.

Watched in 2017
Kids For Cash (2013): It’s easy to sit here as someone without a personal stake in this documentary’s focus, but, what I took away from it is the Luzerne County scandal contained nothing but very human individuals working out their own perspectives and self interests within justice and school systems set up to fail; or those holding office who don’t have proper insight. People fighting shades of grey with black and white theories. Children’s lives were disrupted during peak development years and even though their records were expunged, you can see the damage being impossible to reverse.
Capturing the Friedmans (2003): An introspection of a family in crisis; I believe in the 14 years since this documentary released there’s enough information available for armchair detectives to see through any biases this film presents and displays the depth trauma and denial can go.
The Jinx (2015): A miniseries focused on the life and crimes of Robert Durst where the man himself is interviewed and occasionally forgets he is wearing a hot mic.
Hannibal Buress: Comedy Camisado (2016): A great standup special that made me smile and cackle. Can’t wait to see more of Buress.
Other People (2016): Sure, it’s another cancer movie, but the family relationships and performances make this such a lovely film to watch.
Fences (2016): Play-turned-film about a family in the 1950s and the metaphorical fences they put up to keep each other safe but also to stop from connecting. Lots of great monologues put in by the cast.
Westworld (Season 1): Called all the big twists, but it’s still a great show with wonderful storytelling, scenery, and acting.
The Straight Story (1999): Best film I’ve seen by David Lynch. Poignant and moving.
Suicide Squad (2016): UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I’m not much of an original storyline purist, but if there’s a strong story handed to you ready-made on a silver platter -- why make it weaker? Why not attempt to understand the context at all?
American Honey (2016): Gorgeously shot, but I really found the story content to be a bit cliché and done before but better.
Vampire’s Kiss (1989): I don’t know so much about the comedic part of this labeled black comedy when it really comes off as a quite disturbing account of a lonely, mental ill man’s downward spiral. But fun, bizarre, and unique nonetheless.
Pete’s Dragon (2016): Not the best kid and their dragon story. Not the worst. Not the best Disney remake. Not the worst. Eff gritty reboots. I want the kid to stay with their dragon.
Killer Legends (2014): Documentary uncovering the true stories behind urban legends; the man with a hook for a hand, the babysitter with a call coming from inside the house, poisoned Halloween candy, and a killer birthday party clown.
The Lego Batman Movie (2017): While I liked The Lego Movie, I was more about Batman and how he was voiced by Will Arnett. This movie is a cesspool for in-jokes and references and I was crying nearly the entire time with laughter.
Bridget Jones’s Baby (2016): Oh my god. Oh my god, why.
Tokyo Godfathers (2003): A moving story about three homeless individuals who discover an abandoned baby in the snow around Christmastime. Their search for the mother displays beautiful animation and storytelling.
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017): I’m so happy the sleeper buzz of the first one got to me a few years ago. I’m so beyond thrilled with the product of this sequel that doesn’t lose its self-awareness and bite.
Train to Busan (2016): Best zombie movie I’ve seen in years and years.
Newsies Musical (2017): A lot of missteps and overacting; but still the lovely show I know and adore with flawless dancing.
Hidden Figures (2016): A film showcasing the overshadowed and overworked women of color NASA employees. Superb acting all the way.
Night of the Demons (1988): 100% ‘80s horrible, but I kind of loved it?
Michael Bolton's Big Sexy Valentine's Day Special (2017): I want to write individually, uniquely written thank-you cards to everyone who made this possible.
Get Out (2017): Gorgeously shot, acted, and written; full of detail, homages, symbolism, and foreshadowing. I’m obsessed. I’m so proud of Jordan Peele and cannot wait to see what he does next.
La La Land (2016): More like Blah Blah Land.
Moonlight (2016): A gorgeously shot character study of a young man’s dichotomy of black masculinity and homosexuality.
The Belko Experiment (2017): A clever and funny horrorfest of a desk jockey company locking its employees in and pitting them against one another for a battle to the death.
Logan (2017): THIS is the Wolverine we’ve wanted. My creyes. Thanks or all the years of dedication, Jackman.
A Monster Calls (2016): For such an imaginative story as a boy’s imagination assisting his grief, it’s rather dull and removed.
The Imposter (2012): A documentary of a French national faking the identity of a missing, and much younger, American boy.
Best in Show (2000): This is literally my life now.
Tangled: Before Ever After (2017): Such a cute continuation I’ve always wanted from one of my favorite Disney films. Sweet songs, characterizations, and animation.
Ordinary World (2016): Billie Joe Armstrong in his first starring role as a man hitting a midlife crisis. It’s been done. But there’s something particularly charming about its cast and execution.
Beauty and the Beast (2017): ...Eh. It’s pretty? Some of the additions are cute and thoughtful. But it feels like a shot for shot remake.
Christine (2016): A dramatization of the real life story of Christine Chubbuck, a news correspondent who committed suicide while live on-air.
Arrival (2016): Amy Adams was robbed from a nomination. In my opinion, this is her best work ever.
Beware the Slenderman (2016): HBO documentary covering the true crime of the Slenderman-inspired stabbing and the young girls who conspired together to commit it.
The Fits (2015): A young girl in Cincinnati observes others around her spiraling into epileptic-like episodes as she joins a dance team and undergoes many pre-teen milestones.
The Queen of Katwe (2016): The true story of the chess world’s Woman Candidate Master Phiona Mutesi.
The Love Witch (2016): I love literally everything about this ridiculous movie? With its purposeful presentation acting and romantic aesthetic?
Jackie (2016): Natalie Portman was spellbinding.
An American Wereolf in London (1981): Took me forever to watch, but reignited my love for werewolves.
Loving (2016): True story of interracial couple Mildred and Richard Loving who got married in the late 1950s.
The Edge of Seventeen (2016): I’ve lived this genre. I grew up with this genre. I devoured hundreds of films, television series, and novels about this genre. If it were the first I ever saw, maybe I’d have liked it better. It’s fine. Just not for me.
The Founder (2016): What a wonderfully expensive and affective commercial for McDonald’s. Now put Michael Keaton in more movies!!
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016): I’m excited for the extensive look in Rowling’s universe. While hard to not compare to Harry Potter and lacking the groundwork of connection to a book series I grew up with since 11 years old, it certainly grew on me.
The Boxtrolls (2014): Late to the game on this one, but another fine film from the Laika company. I’m becoming a huge fan of theirs.
The Lost City of Z (2017): A refreshing movie to watch that’s driven by characters more than plot and with minimal CGI. Gorgeous acting. Gripping motivations and convictions. Beautiful scenery and set designs. Reminiscent of an old Hollywood epic.
Tickled (2016): Frustrating documentary about the online “competitive tickling” community and the shadiness of key players.
Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders (2016): I’d probably have enjoyed this more if I hadn’t watched the Lego Batman Movie first, but I got thorough amusement from the in-jokes and returning cast of talent.
Cat People (1942): Oh look, it’s the most I can hope for in my near future.
Mommy Dead and Dearest (2017): HBO documentary about Dee Dee and Gypsy Rose Blancharde.
Drag Becomes Him (2015): I fucking love Jinx Monsoon.
A Star is Born (1954): Judy at her best.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Season 3): I wish this season was more focused, but it gave me some moments I’ll never forget.
Wonder Woman (2017): I already plan to go see this again and make it my theme for my 30th birthday this year. I love it that much.
The Girl on the Train (2016): Zzzzzzzzzzz
House of Cards (Season 5): You can always tell when a showrunner leaves. Robin Wright saved this show for me.
Bo Burnham: Make Happy (2016): I don’t know many comedians who can make me instantly switch from laughing to crying.
Papillon (1973): There’s something captivating about this film that you don’t see every day. True storytelling epic.
Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? (1976): Sidney Poitier is charming, and the behind the scenes turmoil for Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy had me sobbing.
Who Took Johnny (2014): The true crime story of the abduction/disappearance of Johnny Gosch.
Master of None (Season 2): There was something so maddening about Dev this season. Well, not “something.” He fucked up a lot and was quite unlikable. The directing and international film homages were second best to Denise’s single background episode.
The Beguiled (2017): Quite beautiful, great acting. Typical Sofia Coppola and entertaining enough. Not necessary for me to view again.
Baby Driver (2017): This is a standout film for me this year. It made me incredibly happy and so proud of Edgar Wright.
Orange is the New Black (Season 5): Justice for Poussey.
Excalibur (1981): I hear this is both the best and definitive version of the King Arthur myth. But everything else is really bad, and this is acceptable. It has some strong elements and covered the largest span of the myth’s time.
The Old Man and the Sea (1958): The most simply shot and presented film I’ve ever seen. Spencer Tracy is an absolute dear.
HitREcord on TV (Season 1): Such a satisfying and inspiring series to watch.
Atomic Blonde (2017): A lot more spy noir than I expected, but the action I went in anticipating was thrilling and impressive in its choreography. Loved the aesthetic and loved the soundtrack even more.
HitREcord on TV (Season 2): It’s really motivating to watch people go through the creation process in this.
Adam’s Rib (1949): Such a silly story, but Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy’s dynamic is ev. er. y. thing!
BUtterfield 8 (1960): The behind the scenes story is much more compelling and interesting.
What a Way to Go! (1964): This is honestly the most perfect movie I’ve seen in years. There is nothing about it I didn’t love nor recommend.
Detroit (2017): Not exactly the best thing to watch after Charlottesville, but it is a story that needs to be heard and not forgotten. Nothing has changed.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017): The runtime felt too long. But it’s still the best portrayal of Peter Parker so far. Such a refreshing Marvel movie to watch in the midst of my over-saturation outlook on their films. A smaller spec story was very-much needed.
T2 Trainspotting (2017): Most sequels made 20 years later aren’t anything to write home about. But man. This exceeded expectations.
Hurricane Bianca (2016): Just the kind of movie I want from a drag queen. Just the right amount of camp, message, humor, and fabulousness.
Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later (2017): I don’t think there’s anything that makes me consistently laugh this hard.
Ma Vie de Courgette (2017): Stop-animation about the connection and imagination of orphaned children in a healthy home environment.
Brigsby Bear (2017): The most unexpectedly unique and heartfelt movie I’ve seen all year.
Smokey and the Bandit (1977): Oh, so that’s why people like this movie so much.
Shameless (Season 5): More Ian, please.
Cat Women of the Moon (1953): Masterpiece. Aesthetic. My future.
Last Action Hero (1993): I feel like I unwittingly wrote this exact story as a teenager. Loved it.
The Bodyguard (1992): I will always love Whitney.
Table 19 (2017): Legitimately charming.
Kingsmen: The Golden Circle (2017): Not as good as the first, but plenty of strong ideas that I enjoyed with a lovable cast.
mother! (2017): Fucking horrifying and sent me into an anxiety attack that lasted longer than a day -- ethereal and quite the theater-going experience.
Sunshine on Leith (2014): Proclaimers musical. Pretty by the numbers, but very eagerly genuine and sweet.
The Powder and the Glory (2007): PBS documentary about Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein. -- I’m Team Rubinstein, by the way.
It (2017): A great retelling of the original story with a strong and likable cast. I’m excited to see who they cast as the older counterparts in Part 2.
The Zookeeper’s Wife (2017): An interesting perspective of who is left behind during wartime.
Sgt. Pepper’s Musical Revolution (2017): PBS documentary on my boys.
Fist Fight (2017): 90 minutes of line-o-rama comedy. But I love the lead actors.
Gilda (1946): My, my, my Hayworth. Finish him.
I Am Heath Ledger (2017): A retrospective of Ledger with interviews by those legitimately closest to him. Very touching and insightful.
Blade Runner 2049 (2017): The most visually stunning film I’ve seen in a long, long time.
Personal Shopper (2017): Kristen Stewart stars as a woman living in France, waiting for a sign of life from her deceased twin brother.
Gifted (2017): I’m here for Evans and Evans alone.
XX (2017): Four horror shorts directed by women, each uniquely shot and told.
The Promise (2016): The movie was sold short by a misdirection in advertising; it’s more -- and interestingly so -- about the Armenian genocide than just another wartime love triangle. Come on, guys. Polyamory. Polyamory is always the answer.
The Circle (2017): Unwatchable. The film itself doesn’t even know what it’s trying to say.
The Public Enemy (1931): Mostly watched this because of the closing of The Great Movie Ride, above all else.
Leverage (Season 1): Race to finish all 5 seasons before it’s taken off of Netflix. I love this team.
Leverage (Season 2): I have so many feelings about these characters and their relationships with each other.
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017): Polyamory. I told you. The answer is always polyamory. And bondage.
Stranger Things (Season 2): I’m so happy this is finally here, and so mad I’m already finished.
Leverage (Season 3): I love the slow development and bonding the team has gone through.
Leverage (Season 4): The more ridiculous and implausible the mission, the more I love the episode.
Thor: Ragnarok (2017): I don’t care that it was “too funny.” It was exactly what I wanted out of a Marvel movie.
Leverage (Season 5): Well. It’s official. I’ve been Stockholm-syndromed by a show.
The Foreigner (2017): It was fine. It was another misleading trailer, so not what I was expecting. But it was fine.
The Thing (1982): Mmm mmm mmm ‘80s Kurt Russell in a solid John Carpenter thriller/horror.
To Have and Have Not (1944): Bogart and Bacall is goals.
Alien: Covenant (2017): Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017): This is actually a solid sequel I greatly enjoyed. It’s been a few years since I’ve enjoyed a Marvel movie, and now I have two!
The Librarians (Season 1): Okay, this is a good Leverage replacement.
The Librarians (Season 2): This show is super endearing and I’m pleased it exists.
Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer (1992): Going to the My Favorite Murder live show encouraged me to finally watch this.
Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer (2003): An update and deeper delve into Wuornos. Super upsetting to watch her mental deterioration unfold onscreen.
The Librarians (Season 3): All caught-up for season 4 in December!!
Sleight (2016): I had a difficult time watching this movie. There was something about the sound-mixing that triggered some anxiety and auditory stress. But I liked what I could see of it.
Cujo (1983): Probably my second-favorite King movie now. Very simple, yet effective.
Lady Bird (2017): I’m happy to have seen this before the hype got too big. It was so relatable and enjoyable.
Christine (1983): Quite entertaining, great music, top camp.
Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie (2017): Mostly made up of callbacks, but I DO NOT CARE. Such a satisfying nostalgia bookend.
Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri (2017): Fantastic dialogue and performances. I feel so many side stories and characters were meant to build up the main storyline and give context, but I feel it left a lot of characters wanting and left used.
Novitiate (2017): I had no idea the Catholic church did the sisters so dirty with Vatican II. Very tense film and makes you quite sympathetic for the women in it.
Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds (2016): Spectacular HBO documentary of my goddess and the mother goddess. I cried a lot.
Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry (2012): Documentary follows Chinese artist and figure, Ai Weiwei, as he uses social media and activism in his art and to hold the government accountable.
Shameless (Season 6): Needs more Ian. Tired of everyone else’s bullshit. Will I last much longer?
Calamity Jane (1953): Casting Doris Day as the butch Calamity Jane is the most hilarious and gay thing I’ve ever seen and I love it.
Murder on the Orient Express (2017): It’s beautiful, but such a terrible adaptation that guts any tension, stakes, and even mystery as well as gives little for the talented cast to cut their teeth on.
Sky Ladder: The Art of Cai Guo-Qiang (2016): The attempts and execution of a 1,650 foot ladder made of fireworks.
Monster (2003): Ohhhh, THAT’S why Charlize won the Oscar...
The Big Sick (2017): So charming and such a legit romantic comedy.
The Disaster Artist (2017): I watched this in the same way I watched the room: Through my fingers, curled up on my side, and whispering, “Stop. Stop. Stop.” I loved it.
Coco (2017): Well, Pixar fucked me up once again.
My Friend Rockefeller (2015): Documentary about con artist and murderer Christian Gerhartsreiter.
A Series of Unfortunate Events (Season 1): De. Light. Ful.
Shameless (Season 7): Finally caught up!
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017): Yes. I see the faults. I understand. I just don’t care. I absolutely loved it.
The Greatest Showman (2017): Probably my biggest disappointment of the year. The cast and musical numbers were great, but everything in-between was so weak and uninteresting. For a non-diagetic musical, they never earned their musical moments. I’d rather have watched a non-Barnum circus movie all about ZEfron and Zendaya for 2 hours with Jackman in the Master of Ceremonies role. It felt like every non-musical scene was trying to sprint through to get to the next song.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017): I didn’t expect to adore this as much as I did? Jack Black was the standout and was so endearing and respectful towards teenage girls!
The Little Hours (2017): My forever mood/aesthetic in film form.
Gook (2017): Black and white film about the ‘92 L.A. riots from the perspective of two Korean-American brothers.
Carnage (2017): Mockumentary made by Simon Amstell told from the future where veganism is the norm.
Good Time (2017): An epic told over the span of 24 hours of a bank robbery gone wrong.
Dave Chappelle: Equanimity & The Bird Revelation (2017): Chappelle’s latest Netflix specials, back to back. I don’t agree with a lot of what he said and didn’t always laugh. But when he reached me, he did it right.
Battle of the Sexes (2017): That haircut scene helps fuel my Emma Stone fantasies.
I, Tonya (2017): While I do believe Harding never takes responsibility for herself when she should, I still can’t begrudge her place in media history.
The Shape of Water (2017): This movie was fucking everything to me.

About The APZW
The Asbury Park Zombie Walk was founded in 2008 and has become one of the most iconic events on the AP Boardwalk. It is recognized as one of the largest events of its kind in the USA.
A Record Breaking Crowd
The New Jersey Zombie Walk broke the Guinness World Record™ for 'WORLD'S LARGEST GATHERING OF ZOMBIES' in 2010 AND THEN AGAIN IN 2013!
