Cherry Rose Moon Milk Syrup

A nice syrup to make a quick warm bedtime drink.

1 qt tart cherry juice

1 c white sugar

1 c brown sugar

A total of a half cup or so of herbs, including: chamomile, lavender, rose petals, lemon balm, and schisandra berries. Other good candidates include valerian root, ashwaganda, catnip, skullcap, and hops.

Simmer all ingredients in a pot until sugar is dissolved. Strain syrup into glass container. To make milk: add 3-4oz syrup to one cup of warm milk (I prefer non dairy at bedtime because heartburn). Note: any sugar is fine, I just wanted to do half and half because I like the taste. Store syrup in the refrigerator.

super excited to get to this one! having kittens drink milk out of a flower drenched in milk until they’re fully weaned makes perfect sense I think

(psst if it hasn’t been established already, the humans at the farm care a lot for stray cats like with baby Fallen and her mom. the ‘flower milk’ is just kitten formula from a dish left outside by the twolegs that papa here decided to use with a flower)
