The world of monster trucks is a crazy one, and there are many different types of vehicles that fans love. But which is the most popular? I'll take you through my list of the top 10 most famous monster trucks in no particular order so that we can all see what makes them special:

Grave Digger

Grave Digger is the most famous monster truck in history. It has been around since 1981 and has been involved in many high-speed crashes, but it's still going strong today. According to Wikipedia, Grave Digger was originally built by Kenworth as an open cab dump truck that could handle oversize loads.

In 1981, Grave Digger's owner bought it from Kenworth and started modifying it into what we know today as an aggressive off-road vehicle with front-mounted powertrain components (ejectors) and rear tires that can withstand being used like construction Machine

Blue Thunder

Blue Thunder is a monster truck that was built in 1983 by Bob Chandler. It's based on a Ford F-150 pickup truck and has been featured in a number of movies and television shows over the years.

Blue Thunder's first appearance was in the movie "Monster Trucks", which starred Sylvester Stallone as Niles Caulder, who was also known as The Man with No Name (or "The Gunslinger"). In this movie, Niles takes over Blue Thunder after he kills its previous driver during an unauthorized wheelie on his property. During this time frame, there were two other drivers: Redneck and White Lightning; however none of them ever ran against each other because they were afraid to lose their jobs at Casey Jones Racing Engines (CJRE).

Bigfoot

Bigfoot is a monster truck that was built in 1979 by Bob Chandler, who also built Grave Digger. It's named after the legend of Bigfoot and is one of only two remaining Bigfoots that have not been seen since their original creation.

The truck was originally built with a 1988 Chevrolet C20 chassis as its base, but it has been modified over time to include modern components such as shocks and tires. Bigfoot's body is still made up mostly of fiberglass, but features steel reinforced panels beneath its metal shell for additional protection against collisions with other vehicles or objects during competition events

El Toro Loco (the crazy bull)

The El Toro Loco (the crazy bull) is a black and red bull that was built for Monster Jam in 1996. It has been part of the show since then, but it's also known by its Spanish name: El Torro Loco ("crazy bull").

The truck's main feature is its "bull horn," which has three large horns on either side of its front bumper. One of these horns is lit up with LEDs at night during races, while another one lights up during commercial breaks when they're not racing.

Maximum Destruction

Maximum Destruction, built by Dennis Anderson and driven by his son David, is the most famous monster truck. It was used in the movie The Fast and the Furious, which helped make it a popular vehicle among fans of automotive culture.

Maximum Destruction was based on a modified Ford F-250 Crew Cab with two 6 cylinder engines side by side under each cab seat—the same setup as many other monster trucks at that time. These engines gave it 5500 horsepower combined!

Monster truck fans and monster truck drivers are fanatical about the vehicles they love, and they like to show them off.

Chapter Seventeen

Robyn

It was happening again. After almost a year of not having crazy dreams, I was having nightmares again.

This time, I dreamt I was getting married. I was walking down the aisle with happy tears because everything was so beautiful and all my friends and family were there. When my veil was lifted, I was standing in front of Chris. We say our vows and kiss. When we turn and face the crowd, everyone stands up and applauds except for Melanie, who is shaking her head with her arms crossed and a pregnant woman in the front row, who looks too big to stand, even if she wanted to. She’s sitting next to Joyce with her head down and her shoulders are shaking as if she’s crying. I squeeze Chris’ hand tighter to grab his attention and point the woman out to him, but when I look back at her, she’s gone. We walk down the aisle and out of the church to a motorcycle that has just married on the back of it, with ribbon and flowers flowing down the back. We both hop on the motorcycle while everyone’s yelling congratulations and blowing kisses at us. Before pulling off, Chris decides to pop a wheely and I fall off the motorcycle in my big ass, white gown, so I’m standing there yelling at him while he’s still driving. Then, in front of my eyes, a truck crashes into to him, and my eyes pop open. It was a horrible nightmare and I always woke up just as the truck crashes into him.

It was like hearing from Chris resurfaced energy it took me forever to bury. Maybe it was because I unintentionally stood him up. With everything that was going on with Rayven, I had completely forgotten about Chris that entire week. By the time I remembered, it felt foolish to try and apologize a week later, so I didn’t.

Nevertheless, today was the third time I’ve had this dream in the past month and each time I was in bed with Dre, thank God he didn’t wake up this time. It took him a week to stop asking me if I was okay the last time, when he witnessed the night sweats. 

Instead of having breakfast with Dre, like I usually did after crashing at his place, I decided to get up and get an early start on my day. I joined a gym in my neighborhood a few weeks ago and had been coming three days a week since.

It was a nice, comfortable environment and I'd already met a cool chick who was on a strict workout plan, preparing to be a bridesmaid in her friend’s wedding. She was usually halfway through her session when I got there, but that didn't stop us from having a little friendly competition.

"Good morning Robyn. You're here earlier than usual” she smiled brightly as sweat glistened on her forehead.

“Mornin Katy” I replied, as I shoved my glasses, hat, and phone in a locker.

“I’ve already done my six miles, thanks to that B12 injection I got yesterday" she announced, following me to the floor and sitting on the squat machine next to me. “I’m telling you, that stuff is a game changer, and I’m gonna need all the energy I can get, so I can be nice and tight for that dress.”

"I absolutely hate injections and needles” I frowned at the thought “Well...unless I’m getting a tattoo” 

“I swear people who have the most tattoos are the most pussy when it comes to injections” she laughed shaking her head. “What’s up though? You seem kind of down today?”

“I’m just a little tired” I replied, forcing a smile as I put some ten-pound weights on the bars.

“Oh, our eye candy isn’t here yet. He usually wakes you up, you seem to sweat a little harder on the days he’s here” she teased, referring to one of the trainers.

“Yeah, his smile sure does give me a little picker upper” I grinned, thinking of the last time he was here. He was training some girl who already had a perfect body, probably a model, and it was funny to watch him sweat as she kept bending over directly in front of him, obviously wanting a different kind of workout.

“Speak of the sexy little devil, here he comes now” she nodded towards the entrance.

“How are you ladies today?” he asked with a smile, locking eyes with me as he walked past us. 

“Oh, we’re good now that you’re here” Katy winked and I could see his cheeks turn a little pink as he chuckled softly, but kept it moving.

“You are pitiful, leave that baby alone. I’m sure he gets enough of that from these tiny little 'models' he’s always training. I would be jumping at the chance to have him as a trainer too, if he were a decade older” I laughed. We worked out together for another half hour, people watching and laughing about the ones who were obviously here just to post it on social media.

After Katy left, I jogged three miles of my own, then hit the showers. I always felt ten times better after my workout, it put me in a singing mood. Today’s jam was ‘Girl on Fire’ by Alicia Keys.

“You have a beautiful voice” someone pointed out, scaring the shit outta me while I was digging for lotion in my locker. I thought I was the only one in the locker room.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you” he grinned at how hard I jumped.

“Boy, do you know I could’ve slapped the shit outta you” I replied, clutching my chest.

“Who’s to say I wouldn’t have enjoyed it?” he asked raising his eyebrow.

“Don’t do that” I ordered, pulling the rest of my things from my locker.

“What?” he asked confused.

“Don’t flirt with me. I’m old enough to be your mama, or at least ya damn auntie” I replied, and he burst into laughter.

“You’re hella gorgeous and funny. I like that”

“Thank you” I smiled as our eyes connected.

"That was a nice workout you did today, but when you're ready for the real deal, let Quincy know” he stated, patting his chest. “I can help you on your form" He licked his lips, then proceeded to undress me with his eyes, and that was my cue to leave.

“Enjoy the rest of your day Quincy, and try not to scare the shit outta anyone else” I called over my shoulder.

After the gym, I had a doctor’s appointment to rush to. I was beyond nervous because I was here for lab results. I came a few days ago for a routine pap smear, but ended up getting a lot of other testing done too. I was wondering if it was possible for me to get pregnant again, even though I wasn't planning on it anytime soon. It’s just something that’s been heavy on my heart, so I wanted answers.

My palms were sweaty and my stomach churned as I waited for the doctor to come in. I just felt bad news coming and it made me anxious.

"Hey Mrs. Fenty, how are you doing today?

"Nervous"

"Well I have the answers to your questions right here" he stated, flipping through a stack of papers.

He went over my lab results and hysteroscopy with me and broke everything down to simpler terms.

"So overall, you're healthy. Your uterus did sustain a lot of scar tissue from the previous injury, which dramatically lowers your chances of being able to carry a baby again"

"what does that mean?"

"you will probably have no problem getting pregnant, but it's not very likely you'll ever make it past the first trimester again. If you and your husband are considering kids, it may be better to use a surrogate"

"Oh no, I just wanted to know. I'm not married and I'm not trying to get pregnant, I just wanted to know where I stood"

"Well if you ever decide to go that route, let me know. I know a good doctor"

I was supposed to have dinner with Dre and his mom tonight, but after my appointment, I wasn't in the mood to slap on a fake smile. Dre reads through that shit instantly, which means I would have to explain why I was in a sour mood. So instead, I went home and drank a bottle of Chardonnay to myself. This is the closest you get to a pity party" I told myself as I rolled a blunt. 

I took it easy the rest of the weekend. I just sat at home with Ollie and Pepe, watching TV and eating junk. When Monday morning came, I'd gotten all the pity out of my system and was ready to work off that extra 5 pounds I gained overnight.

"Good morning. Are you ready to work on that form?" Quincy greeted me bright and early with that big ass smile he always had. It was eerily quiet with only one other person working out this morning, but that didn’t make him any less jolly.

"As a matter of fact, I am" I replied, catching him off guard. Still, that didn't stop him from coming through with the good advice. We had a thirty-minute session, but when it was over, I was drenched in sweat.

I walked a couple of miles to cool down then took at quick shower so I could avoid rush hour on the way to work. John was a good driver, but no one stood a chance against rush hour traffic.

"Thanks for the pointers today" I smiled when Quincy walked in the locker room. “I really feel the burn” 

"My pleasure" he smiled, licking his lips. I swear he was doing that shit on purpose.

“Do you mind helping me out with my necklace?" I asked, after it slipped through my fingers for the third time.

"Of course" he replied, taking it in his hand and putting it around my neck. "You smell really good"

"Thanks"

“No problem” he whispered so softly, that he made the hairs on the back of my neck stand and sent shivers down my spine. My body shook involuntarily causing me to bump into him and I accidentally felt his manhood.

“Oh my God. I’m sorry. That tickled and I got the chills, I’m so sorry” I apologized repeatedly. I was embarrassed, but more impressed than anything. He had basketball shorts on so I felt everything. I couldn’t believe it was rock hard and a nice size at that.

“Hey girl, I woke up late today and-” Katy immediately paused, feeling the tension in the air.

“It was good working with you today, let me know when you’re ready for more” Quincy winked, leaving me to face Katy’s curious expression, and adding even more to the flame with that wink.

“Wow. This is beautiful. What do you call it?” Tae asked, as soon as we entered my bedroom. She came to the city this weekend, for my art exhibition and couldn’t get enough. She wanted to see more, so I invited her over to see some of the things I painted in my new home.

“Monster. I painted this in one night. I couldn’t sleep, so I found myself painting with no end in mind, this was the finished product” I explained.

“You are really talented. Her eyes are so intense” she continued in awe. “And look at her lips”

“Look at your lips” I replied, licking my own, then leaning in and kissing hers. It was bold, but I could tell she wanted it, because she wasted no time slipping her tongue in my mouth.

“Damn” she grinned, after I pulled back. “That was unexpected”

“In a bad way or a good way?”

“In a great way, but I might as well tell you now. I’m celibate, so that’s about as far as you’re gonna get without a ring on my finger”

“Whoa, I wish you would’ve told me that sooner. Now I feel like I crossed the line, and I don’t want to disrespect you”

“No, that was nice. I just don’t want you getting any other ideas” she laughed playfully, as her phone began to vibrate. She took it out, replied to a text, and put it back in her pocket for the hundredth time today.

“You must be a popular lady” I teased. 

“Wouldn’t you like to know” she replied, leaning in and kissing me this time.

“Naw, you can’t be doing stuff like that. That’s not fair” I quickly shook my head, as the alarm chimed, signaling that someone just came in the house. 

I knew it wasn’t Anthony, he wasn’t supposed to be back for another few hours, so I jumped up and ran down the hall to find out who it was.

“Chris!" Mama called out as I jogged down the stairs.

"Hey mama, what's up? You always call before you come"

"I have something to tell you” she began, getting straight to the point. 

“This must be some serious stuff for you to drive all the way over here” I chuckled.

“We need to sit down” she sighed walking to the living room and sitting on the sofa. 

“You okay?” I asked and she nodded. “What’s going on mama? Don’t tell me I’m gonna have to beat Richard’s ass”

“What? No Chris” she rolled her eyes. “This is going to be a lot to process, and I’m sorry I never told you this before. I had a baby when you were six. I was going through a lot at the time, and I couldn’t handle another child, so I gave him up for adoption"

"Wow...wait. Why are you telling me now?"

"He showed up at my doorstep a couple of months ago. I thought the records were sealed, but he found me. We’ve been spending some time together, but he wanted to be sure about the paternity before taking our relationship any further, so we had a DNA test done and I got the results today. He's really my baby boy” she whispered, clutching the papers to her chest.

“Wow Ma. I don't even know what to say right now?” I stared at her, lost for words. “I’m surprised you could go all this time without telling me something like this”

"It’s not something I was proud of, you know. I didn't think about the possibility of him wanting to know me after all this time, and there were so many feelings surrounding my pregnancy, that I hoped to never have to explain, so I forced myself to live with my decision"

"What do you mean"

"He came out looking just like his dad, and I couldn't live with that at the time”

“Wait, you said ‘his’ dad, so that means...”

“Yes, you two have different fathers. Anyway, I told him he has a brother and he's been wanting to meet you. I thought it would be best if we knew the DNA results first, so now that they're here, I thought we could all have dinner tonight at my house”

“Of course, if I have a brother out there, I definitely want to meet him” I nodded adamantly.

“Sorry to interrupt, but I’m going to get going Chris” Tae announced. 

“I’m so sorry, Tae. This is my mom, Joyce. Mama, this is Lashontae. She’s Lala’s maid of honor”

"You are gorgeous Lashontae” Mama complimented, shaking her hand. “Chris, you should’ve told me you have company.”

“Oh, it’s okay. I see you have family stuff going on, so I think I should go”

“Nonsense honey. I didn’t mean to interrupt what you two had going on. I’m going to get going, I have to get to the supermarket. I’ll see you later Chris” Mama smiled. “It was good to meet you Lashontae, you’re welcome to join us for dinner later” she added on her way out.

“Aww, you look so much like your mom, and she’s super sweet” Tae grinned.

“Thank you. You’re not leaving yet, are you?”

“Well, I kind of overheard your mom, I figured you might want some privacy, so I was going to head back to Lala’s.” Tae replied.

“Please stay and join us tonight. Mama can really cook, I promise you won’t be disappointed” 

“I'm sure she can, I just don’t want to impose on something so private”

“Stop it. I want you to be there. It’s not like I can just come swoop you up whenever I want to chill with you, so I want to make the most of the time you do get to spend out here”

“Okay, under one circumstance”

“What’s that?” I asked, hoping it was reasonable.

“I want you to paint something for me” she smiled.

“I should’ve known” I smirked. She was legit a fan of mine and that alone turned me on. The fact that she was celibate also ignited a fire in me. Everything about her was too perfect, and I couldn’t believe luck was on my side with this one. She was beautiful with a banging body, had brains, and was successful in her career.  I couldn’t help but wonder if she had any secrets in her closet, only time will tell.

This Boosted Jeep CJ5 is Ready for Drag Racing Action

Drag racing is an addiction that consumes the lives of gear heads around the world. It causes people to spend lots of money, week after week, as they seek the thrill of the chase. Quicker elapsed times, a better launch or maybe just one more mile per hour on the big end- it’s all part of the game. For Garett Beaver, he’s been hooked on drag racing for the past few years and has become a regular racer at his home track, Brainerd Motorsports Park in Ringgold, Georgia. His vehicle of choice is a 1973 Jeep CJ5 “Super Jeep”. It’s the type of vehicle that gets attention from people of all ages, and it may just hook the next generation if they happen to see it make a pass down the drag strip.

The Jeep has a great family history, as Garett is the second generation to thrash on it. His father bought it in 1976, and his original intention was to use it as a trail rig to access a family cabin in the hills of Tellico, Tennessee. One day, he saw a sign for “dirt drag racing”, and the Jeep quickly transformed into a racing machine. The original AMC 304ci V8 was still in use, but the Jeep was stripped of unnecessary weight and outfitted with a roll cage and paddle tires. He Jeep was raced on dirt for five years, ranging from the sandy South Florida tracks, all the way up to Gravelrama in Ohio.

After five or so years, the dirt drag racing came to a stop, and the Jeep sat dormant for a while. That’s where Garett comes into play. He decided to take the race-prepared Jeep and turn it into a Pro Street build. He put big tires on the back and added wheelie bars and a scoop to create an eye-catching street machine. He drove it to car shows and cruise in events near his home of Dalton, Georgia for many years until he finally decided to try his hand at drag racing at a run-for-fun event at Paradise Drag Strip in Calhoun, Georgia. Even though the Jeep wasn’t specially prepped for drag racing, it ran well and left with the front wheels in the air. Garett was hooked!

Since then, he has made many upgrades. He swapped the AMC engine for a 406ci small block Chevy and then added nitrous. As the Jeep got quicker and faster, the wheelie bars became a true necessity. He broke the bars one night, causing a near vertical wheelstand, which destroyed the front portion of the frame. Garett built a new front frame section and made more upgrades while he had it apart. Finally, at the end of the 2017 drag racing season, the small block Chevy sang its final tune, and it was time to upgrade again. This time, it received a 5.3-liter LS engine, force fed by an On3 Performance turbocharger. His intentions are to take the Jeep into the low 5’s in the eighth-mile, which will certainly be a wild ride. He’s sneaking up on the new combination and working toward his goal.

Through it all, Garett handled nearly every aspect of the build, and rebuild, and enjoys the challenge of the ���race, repair, repeat” cycle that we all know so well. He said, “This Jeep is the true meaning of ‘built on a budget’. I always made the most of what I had”. And though his father passed away more than 15 years ago, Garett still thinks about those late nights in the shop so many years ago, and relives the great moments every time he’s wrenching, racing or inspiring a kid in the pits to build the car, truck (or Jeep) of their dreams.

Tech Notes

Who: Garett Beaver What: 1973 Jeep CJ5 Where: Dalton, Georgia

Engine: It’s hard to argue with the potential of a boosted LS engine, and Garett jumped on the bandwagon for the 2018 season. He’s using a 5.3-liter Vortec engine from a 2005 Chevy Tahoe. It has a stock rotating assembly, and stock cylinder heads, but Garett upgraded to a Brian Tooley boost-friendly camshaft and valve springs. He retained the truck intake manifold, but modified the accessory brackets to mount the alternator much lower. Nick Sosebee at Sosebee Off-Road handled the modifications on the wiring harness. A tiny aluminum radiator keeps the LS engine cool, even during the occasional street cruise.

Power Adder: A pair ofeBay turbo headers lead into a crossover pipe and an On3 Performance turbocharger, which measures 78mm. An air-to-air intercooler keeps the intake charge at a reasonable temperature. Garett built all of the tubing in his home shop. Feeding the monster is a FiTech pump and filter, with an eBay fuel pressure regulator. Sam Daffron tunes the boosted LS engine with HP Tuners.

Transmission: A TH350 automatic transmission with a station wagon long tail shaft transfers the power to the rear wheels. Garett built the transmission, installing a B&M shift kit and “red” clutch pack. The Summit torque converter features a 2,500-rpm stall speed.

Rearend: Out back is a Ford 9-inch rearend, narrowed to fit the Jeep platform, but still allows the rear tires to stick out just enough. Inside the housing are a spool, 31-spline axles, and a 4.30:1 gear set with a Strange yoke. Chattanooga Driveline built the custom driveshaft.

Suspension: After damaging the frame in a rough wheelstand landing, Garett replaced the front frame rails with 2×4 steel tubing. He used a universal kit from Helix to install a Mustang II style front suspension, and used stock Mustang II V8 springs and Competition Engineering 90/10 shocks. The Helix kit uses a universal-type brake rotor with S-10 calipers to provide plenty of stopping power for the 2,200 pound Jeep. Out back, the original Jeep leaf springs are still in service, but they are mounted to Speedway sliders, and a home-brewed traction bar setup.

Wheels/Tires: Up front is a pair of Jegs 15×4-inch wheels, wrapped in skinny 130/90-15 motorcycle tires. The rears are three-piece Sander Engineering 15×12-inch wheels mounting Mickey Thompson 315/60R15 ET Street Radial Pro tires.

Paint/Body: Advanced Collision in Dalton, Georgia straightened the panels and used white paint sourced from a 2012 Chevy Silverado. Garett added the factory style “Super Jeep” stripes, while the carbon fiber wrap material on the hood came from Jerry Reddix at Graph-x in Dalton, Georgia. Garett is responsible for the funny car style roll cage, which is built around the original Jeep main roll bar hoop. An aluminum wing is a nice touch to finish off the exterior.

Interior: While the interior is minimal, it does have a second low-back Kirkey seat for giving joy rides to brave passengers. The original steering column mounts a Grant steering wheel, and a stainless steel dash holds the necessary gauges and switches (and stickers) to keep the Jeep rolling. Behind the seats is a hinged panel, made from a giant sign, which hides the fuel cell.

Performance: The Jeep’s best elapsed time to date is 6.04 at 119 miles per hour in the eighth mile. That was with the nitrous-fed small block Chevy combination. With the LS engine’s stock 35-pound injectors, the Jeep was limited to only 8 pounds of boost. With that configuration, it made 488 horsepower at the wheels, and ran deep into the 6’s, nearly matching his personal best on the first time out. He plans to upgrade injectors, and turn the boost to 18 pounds to get way down into the 5-second zone.

A New Titan Cup Champion Highlights Hot Wheels Weekend

This year it seems many of the major tours have gone from having a “first quarter” schedule to almost actually having a “first third” of the year being part of one tour. That means more shows, and more opportunities for both victory and also breakage.

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live is entering into their fourth month of action, and began the month of April at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston Salem, North Carolina, on a unique two-show weekend where both shows were early afternoon matinees for the North Carolina faithful. All the usual cast of drivers and trucks, along with the tour’s trusted hosts, were ready to welcome in the crowd for the first performance of the weekend, and each driver had their trucks prepared for the best of action.

Right off the get-go was the wheelie competition, which over the last few shows has been won by a multitude of drivers, but this afternoon was taken by the guy carrying the torch for the title sponsor.

Christian Norman stood the Hot Wheels Racing 1 Raptor on the wheelie bar with both hits, and the entire crowd was eating it up. They felt that ride was the best one of the show to that point, and the victory gave Norman the first lead on the night.

Between the events, a few teams decided to water things down, or at least the tires. The reason, the donut contest was up next, and the floor seemed to be a bit tacky compared to previous shows. So some decided in order to get the smoke to roll, they had to water the tires down to actually break traction and let the rubber spin. That seemed to work, but in the end the effort was for not.

The streak again continues on for Steven Snellen as he is getting closer to the 20-win mark in the donut competition, taking yet another one on the season.

Freestyle motocross entertained the fans long enough for the engines to cool down, because it was time to get the launchers ready to score a win in the long jump contest. Every truck lined up ready to soar, but just like a week ago, Derick Anson was on point with the hit, and his flight, because like a week ago, he soared to another win in the category. Three competitions and three different victors were the story heading towards intermission.

Teams were thrashing a bit to ensure each truck was prepared for the second half of the show, and that allowed Megasaurus to have a bit of a late lunch on a midsize car.

As the bracket went round by round, the cream rose to the top because a pair of previous winners made it to the finals, because Norman and Anson were set to throw down to determine the first major winner on the night. The light went green, and call it an advantage to have a slightly nose-down look, but Norman powered across the cars in the left lane enough to get the truck to the finish line first, claiming his second win of the night, and putting him in prime position for a title.

The floor was then cleared of every pylon and starting point, because it was time to get the freestyle finale going, and every truck was heading out fast, hard, and intense.

Each truck was pushing the envelope, but from the middle of the field, it was Norman’s teammate that made the most noise. Darron Schnell had his Bigfoot machine in prime condition, especially with his wife, Rebecca, turning the wrenches in between competition. It gave him the chance to put on a spectacular run, enough to take home the freestyle title. That win also allowed his teammate to secure his first Titan Cup since February, meaning the Bigfoot organization had a full sweep of the big events in show one.

The Titan Cup came home to Pacific, Missouri, and Norman shared in the victory with every fan that came through the autograph line.

The unique setup for shows allowed a lot of time to prepare the machines for a second performance, and also to test a few new setups to make a better show.

By the time the Sunday Crash Zone opened to fans, each truck was looking excellent in both body lines and chassis setup, so it was clear the final show of the weekend was going to be huge for everyone in attendance. What it ultimately became was a first for a young driver that’s keeping on a family tradition.

Right off the get-go in the wheelie competition, the driver that made the biggest impression had yet to win a show. That was the Bone Shaker hot rod, piloted by Cody Holman, the son of Tiger Shark driver, Bobby. Each hit on the stacks stood the unique machine on the wheelie bar, and the crowd felt the young gun was the best on the afternoon, claiming his first wheelie win in almost one month.

The donut contest was more of the same, both in watering the tires and the finish, as Snellen spun another set of cyclones to keep his streak intact, although he came awfully close to the car stacks and that would have ended his run prematurely.

When the long jump portion of the afternoon approached, Holman again seemed to find the right gear, and the right moment. Holman soared the Bone Shaker far enough to let the front wheels land beyond every other truck, giving him a second win on the night, and already in position to stun the North Carolina crowd.

Still riding high from that win, even after intermission, Holman wanted more, and looked to get as far in racing as he could to make it even more challenging for his competitors. But, he would fall out in the semi-finals, which led to a match-up in the finals between Schnell and Anson.

It was reaction time that was the difference, as Anson fell behind and Schnell took advantage, taking home the racing win on the night and setting up a potential showdown in freestyle, as the Titan Cup was still undecided.

Even that competition was a stunner because it was Snellen who made the V8 Bomber shine. Combined with the usual donuts, he was able to also soar across the van stack and also use every inch of the floor to let the crowd see exactly what the retro Chevrolet could do in a full run. That freestyle was enough to get him the victory in freestyle, but it only tied Holman in the amount of wins on the night. So, a tie-breaker was needed to determine who the Cup was going to.

Because of his ability to go farther in racing, the entire crowd roared when it was Holman that was awarded the trophy, as it was his first of the season, one week after his father earned his first Titan Cup. It took nearly the entire season, but officially every driver on the tour can say they won a Titan Cup, and got to hold that trophy high as they waved to the fans who spent their day seeing toys become reality.

The final show during the inaugural winter-spring tour for the Hot Wheels Live tour happens next weekend. Charlottesville, Virginia, is the site of the final two shows of the inaugural season, at the John Paul Jones Arena. A Saturday night, and a Sunday afternoon, show will highlight the activities, with each having a Crash Zone to let fans get right next to the real-life trucks that match what they find on the shelves at Target, Walmart, and other retailers.
