低音質のピチカート・ファイヴ (Pizzicato Five) BLACK ALBUM -rare tracks 1993-2000
youtube
Fan-made compilation album of rare Pizzicato Five tracks and recordings, made for the 20th anniversary of their breakup.
Happy Sad, live version on a Fuji TV program with Konishi Yasuharu, but featuring AKKO from My Little Lover as guest singer.
Taken from a recording of Fuji TV's FACTORY live music program FACTORY. Recording of The Night Is Still Young/東京は夜の七時 included, then audio only of Such a Beautiful Girl Like You. Includes short interview between Konishi and Maki. Longer version with video is uploaded on Youtube elsewhere.
Nissan Mistral CM (Baby Portable Rock riff), plus extended commercial commentary from, per Google translate, Monsieur Kamayatsu, speaking in what I take to be a Japanese impression of Francophone speaking in what I can only describe as Frapanese? I think. Fellow linguistics-focused autistic followers, jump on this and figure it out, please.
"Kid's Challenge" theme jingle (kid's educational NHK program).
Theme song for the program "Shounen Katori" on Fuji TV. (Added commentary: "Will this video of Nomiya Maki lead to the official release of the Darlin' of Discotheque music video?" ONE CAN ONLY HOPE)
a Tokyo/東京の合唱, album version demo, "unfinished version" broadcast on READYMADE FM on Tokyo FM radio show.
Message Song, acoustic version. Also broadcast on READYMADE FM.
Acoustic performance of the song, "Sukiyaki", or, rather, Ue o Muite Arukou/上を向いて歩こう, performed while on their World Tour. I think this was performed in a radio station in San Francisco? Another funny linguistic note: This song is properly named 上を向いて歩こう (ue o muite arukou/"I Look Up While I Walk"), and was written as a protest song during the Anpo Tousou era against American interference in Japan via the U.S.-Japan Security Treaty. However, it was renamed "Sukiyaki" (as in the hotpot dish without that dish being referenced at all in the lyrics of the song) to be easier for Anglophone audiences. Now whoever uploaded this video has also titled it "sukiyaki", despite writing in Japanese... globalism moment?
Live performance of Baby, It's You.
Live performance of Bond Street.
Video of live performance of CDJ. Konishi and Maki both appear. Valuable artifact!
Live performance of Superstar, from Pizzicato Five Catwalk Live. Another valuable artifact! Full version, I think, of this concert is uploaded under the same name elsewhere on Youtube, too, although of a similar low quality.
Twiggy Twiggy and Tout Va Bien, from their amazing performance at Shinjuku Liquid Room. This is about half the live that they did at this venue; you can find a longer recording of this live on Youtube, along with a version of Baby Portable Rock and Mon Amour Tokyo.
Acoustic version of "1 janvier", from their final album Çà et là du Japon, again from READYMADE FM program.

Another new photo sent to me from Japan of my Tokyo based band in the glam rock era. Here at Hibiya Park Tokyo, spring 1973, with my group Vodka Collins. I’m up at the mic singing with Monsieur Kamayatsu behind me smiling!
