Mitsuru Hanakiri - No Need for Bushido “You will be remembered.”

‘Mitsuru Hanakiri is a deadly woman. A foolish woman. But I admire her skill with the blade all the same. With one in her hand and even without she strikes like lightning, and there isn’t anything I know that she is unable to cut. If you have the misfortune to face her, one blink is all it will take for you to die.’

First on my list is everyone’s favorite layabout samurai, Mitsuru. I wish the epithet was more original, but the fact that a webcomic I read has the same title is the main source of inspiration. Sorry! But I think it’s fitting.

I adore Mitsuru. I’ve rped with her and her player exactly…is it 3 or 4 times? But I really want to get more sessions in. I love her commitment to drinking a lot and an inappropriate amount of violence, and I love her character.

For her themes, I decided to start with Sidonia, even though I don’t think it meshes musically with the rest of the themes I decided to give her. I just think a lot of the lyrics in Sidonia match well for Mitsuru.

For her themes I tried to go for very frantic, high paced themes, with a shift in gear and tone in the middle starting with The Only Thing I Know for Real. I really love MonoChromium’s MGR mixes, and I thought that those three worked perfectly for Mitsuru’s development as I’ve personally seen it. Thrown in at the end is two songs with a decidedly Asian-themed slant from Monster Hunter as a sort of on the nose reference to her status as a samurai and I’m pretty sure Doman origins, and then another on the nose song with I’ll Face Myself.
