what are some oc projects you've been working on, if any? do you have a favorite oc or one that you've had since you were little?

I do actually have a Big Project that I want to get a bit more done on before I start actively posting about it, but I will say that the plan is for it to be a candygore webcomic. It's gonna be based on some OC designs I originally made to be cute charms/shirt prints but then I named them and next thing I knew I had a story that'll take a few years to tell. I'm very excited for it though, as I really wanna bring something new to the table for candygore, even if it is a very niche aesthetic!! I wouldn't say I've had OCs since I was "little" as as a kid I had my dolls and figurines so they weren't fully original, yknow? Plus I liked drawing little characters a lot and always gave em names and themes, I've always liked character design, but they rarely got development. However at around 14-15 I started making OCs which were. Varying Degrees Of Original (a fair few were Creepypastas lmao plus a ROTG OC. Willow I miss u bbygirl <3) But my TRUE favourites started to get created when I was around 18 and they've been able to be developed since then since I got access to digital art programs and therefore could make silly little doodles.

My NEWEST favourite is my self-indulgent Yakuza OC but I mostly ramble about him in Discord, but we got some older favourites:

The Three Amigos, aka Hettie Fontaine (a magic user who somehow ended up getting mixed up with demons), Demonette (her self-assigned best friend and demon who loves girls as much as she loves fire) and Mono Monreau (Demonette's goth half brother who has suddenly been dragged into the demonic half of his heritage). I love these three, they're so silly

Agatha Alletage, the Time Demon. She's mental and fucked up and beautiful and I love her so much. She fully owns the fact that she belongs in Hell and yet she's very polite and courteous and surprisingly kind, but unfortunately she also highly enjoys her work, which involves studying and experimenting with time....but her methods are involve more bloodshed than you'd like.

Florence Farina, the Cupcake Demon. A newer one who's almost a foil to Agatha, in that she's also a serial killer but doesn't even seem to ACKNOWLEDGE she's in Hell. She's a sopping wet cat of a woman who always looks like she's on the verge of snapping or bursting into tears, who knows. There's Many Things Wrong With Her and I love her. Would love to work on her more

hi im back again !! you mentioned that you have demonverse as a kind of project where you make ocs for fun and put them in. does that have any overarching story, or do you imagine it like something akin to an animal crossing town?

There actually kinda is an overarching plot, but I don't know when it kicks in lmaooooo

The 'story' would start with Hettie working at the shop like usual when a detective comes to ask her some questions as the shop was one the last places a recently-murdered man was seen in (said dude was a semi-regular there and a known dickhead), but she doesn't really know anything useful. Goes on with her day.

Later on, she ends up performing a demon summoning ritual because a mate of hers wanted to do it even though Hettie was like 'that's a very dumb idea that won't work but if it did work it'd be very bad' but basically does it so she can tell em later that it was a dud. But to her surprise, her call is answered by Demonette!!! Demonette doesn't actually have a full license to answer summons but she was bored and wanted to check out the mortal world, and basically declares herself Hettie's new best friend because she thinks she's cool. Hettie's like '?????' but fine, may as well.

Hettie actually ends up investigating the murders herself as Demonette informs her the killer appears to be supernatural in nature, and as a born Magic User, Hettie could actually look into it. Demon Shenanigans ensue and they meet a bunch of other demons and not-quite-demons-but-not-quite-humans.

This leads to them meeting Mono and learning that he and Demonette have the same dad, and Demonette is THRILLED to have a little brother and he thinks it's cool he now has a bigger family than he thought....and then his father is murdered by the killer they're hunting. Now, to protect Mono and also teach him the ropes of his incubus side, he goes between living on Earth and in Hell, dealing with his sisters and not-really stepmum, and among other things, man ends up with two girlfriends.

I know who the killer is and I KINDA have an idea of the Overarching Motive but we'll get there someday. For the most part I just spin them in my head like in a microwave :)

Hmm, last I checked, hooking up with your sister's best friend is seen as, what's the term . . . bad form?

Besides, whilst also being pan, Hettie's aro, so she and Mono wouldn't ever be a couple in a classic sense. Maybe, MAYBE, a drunken one night thing could happen, but that's the only way it would. I think it'd honestly upset Demonette, even if she can't quite pinpoint why?

The three of them are all besties, bffs, the Three Amigos, they don't need to complicate things with a relationship

I believe the fashion style is called 'e-boy'. Or 'edgy'. Or. Yknow. Goth. I should draw him in a skirt again, he looks lovely. His main fashion confidant is Demonette as they have the most similar taste in fashion.

For fancier stuff, he probably asks Demonella.

how did mono get to work under demoness?? + how does she deal with him??

Don't apologise, anon, it's okay! The Demonverse isn't something I talk about too often, and it usually ends up being on Discord lol.

The story details are fuzzy since, but basically through very tragic circumstances, Mono's father is murdered, and since his mother also died a few years prior, he's left with no family... Except for his newly-discovered demon sisters. He's also now in danger himself, and weirdly enough, Hell might be a safer place for him. Demistress isn't happy that Demonette has dragged him into her home, but considering he's her ex's son (and her ex was a very skilled and powerful succubus, favoured by Asmodeus himself) it'd look bad even by demon standards for her to turn him away.

He goes back and forth between life in Hell and life in Earth, but whilst he's in Hell he must prove himself worthy enough to be in Demistress' clan, which means learning the ropes. As the oldest (available) sister and the most skilled, Demoness semi-reluctantly volunteers to give him some pointers (reluctant because ugh dumb human male, but volunteered because hey who else is gonna do it?)

He's actually quite good, the lad's a charmer, and who doesn't love an edgy goth twink, so she has to admit he has potential. Just don't let her know he's not exclusively into women.

None of them want to mould him into a copy of themselves, because it just...wouldn't work?

The fact that he's A) half-human, and more importantly B) is a man, prevents this. See, the fact that they're all women means they're expected to seduce men (again, Demonstress is an exception). Mono being a man means he's expected to seduce women, which is good for upping the amount of souls on their family's claim, but it's a new concept.

The twins would rather bully and tease him because they honestly don't really care, Demonella mainly just offers him general comfort and security, and Demonstress is similarly protective. Demoness could help him become a powerful incubus but only to a point. She assumes the seduction techniques she uses on men can be applied to women (which I'm sure many can), but the fact that Mono's a boy makes her inherently think lesser of him, as does his humanity. It's even worse from Demistress, she'd rather have nothing to do with him but can't because Reasons.

Mono's his own man, and a useful asset to their clan, but he's no one's pick for a protégé. He still needs to be careful not to piss off Demistress.

They're half siblings (same dad). Demonette is the youngest daughter of Hell's most powerful succubus but she'd much rather learn fire magic and befriend mortals than seduce them into handing over their souls, whilst Mono has only recently learned he's half-demon and even MORE recently learned he has an entire half-family.

I think I've talked about their backgrounds a bit more and it should be in their tags, but I'll admit I haven't built much on them since.

What I can say is that Demonette was THRILLED to find out she has a younger brother, and even though he's a bit more lowkey and less perky than her, Mono's quite happy to have her as a sister. They like going shopping at the mall together.

However I'd love to get some more questions about my Demonverse lot so I actually have an excuse to think about them again!!

whats ur demonverse??

My Demonverse is the universe most of my OCs go in. If they're not fandom-centric or made for a specific story, they get thrown in there.

Some important aspects of the Demonverse:

It's basically our world but oh look at that, Heaven and Hell are a thing, as are a bunch of other supernatural things. Ain't that fun and original? But some things to note are the fact that Hell is split up into 'Districts', seven for each sin, and Sinners are sent to live in whichever one encapsulates their main sin/crimes. Since people are rarely guilty of just one, they often work in other ones as part of their punishment. Some people are so awful they get sent straight to the classic 'eternal torment and suffering' whilst others have to deal with living amongst people are bastardish as they are.

You can't kill a demon twice unless with some sort of Holy Blade, which are VERY hard to get hold of. You CAN hurt them VERY badly, but even if you destroy parts of the body, they'll form back. Eventually. Usually not painlessly either.

There are Hellborn demons and Sinners, aka mortal souls who have been sent to Hell. There's also other titles/types, but I won't bore you with em here. Also note there is a difference between the Seven Deadly Sins and their demons, known as Viceroys (for example, Greed is its own entity whilst Mammon is its Viceroy). Viceroys rule over their District, basically keeping Hell in line whilst either embodying or inspiring their Sin. Fun stuff.

The 'main character' as it were is a mortal witch named Hettie Fontaine, alongside Demonette, a demon who decided they're now besties, and Mono Monreau, Demonette's half-brother. A particular favourite OC from this verse of mine is Agatha Alletage.

I love all of them, but of course some get more love than others.

In terms of famdom OCs, Lorabetta is the greatest thing ever, I think about her so much and I truly adore her. It's criminal that only I'm able to make content for her.

My Demonverse lot, there's of course Mono and Demonette. They're so wonderful and drawing them and seeing art of them praying Mono gets some love for next year's Art Fight makes me so so happy.

who's mono?

I'm so glad you asked :) definitely didn't mention him offhandedly in hopes someone would ask :)

Mono is an OC who has only existed for about a year now, thanks to a suggestion from a friend. He's Demonette's half-brother on their father's side, and the two didn't know of each other's existence until, during an investigation (part of a storyline that I may or may not actually expand and connect someday who knows) Hettie and Demonette have to talk to a guy who may know something about demons. Turns out he'd know this since he's actually an incubus who's been living on Earth a good 100 or so years, and as stated, is Demonette's father. She actually takes having a brother extremely well, and immediately jumps into the role of Cool Big Sister Who Shall Protect Her Baby Brother At All Costs. Mono can't really complain about this, and since Hettie is Demonette's bestie, he's basically forced to get along with her too. Luckily they're both goth bitches so it's all good.

Due to circumstances I will bore you with another day, Mono ends up receiving tutelage from his half-sisters on how to harness his incubus side. And he, ahem, is rather skilled in that department. My man is good at what he does, and rather enthusiastic about this role. Or at least, he doesn't hate it. Just don't tell Demistress that he isn't only interested in women.

Lads got a demon form and everything. I love him so much yall you have NO idea, he's my best boy and I adore him.

what would your ocs do on halloween?

This year I actually roleplayed (term used loosely) as Hettie on Twitter for Halloween weekend!

Hettie, goth that she is, loves Halloween, and always decorates for it. This year she took Demonette shopping for decorations and candy and had to deal with her running around the shop grabbing as many plastic skeletons and pumpkin paraphernalia as she could physically carry, and having to convince Demonette to put them back.

As you can guess, Demonette is very enthusiastic about the holiday. She likes dressing up, decorating the house, and making Halloween cookies.

Mono is a bit more lowkey, he hasn't gone out of his way to celebrate Halloween for a couple of years. He and his dad put out a jack-o-lantern and a couple of fake cobwebs to let trick-or-treaters know they're giving out candy, and then they just chill and watch spooky movies with some snacks, a tradition Mono will likely continue with his sister and girl friends. He's also just as likely to go out to attend Halloween parties, as long as they're dressing up. Seriously, what is the point of a non-costumed party at Halloween?
