The Process of Injection Molding
A complex manufacturing technique called injection molding has completely changed how many different kinds of products are produced in various industries. The systematic application of heat and pressure to basic materials, usually thermoplastic polymers, to create intricate and accurate shapes is the basis of this technique.
The raw material is first prepared, usually made by making little pellets or granules. These pellets are put into the hopper of the injection molding machine, where a heated barrel melts them. The polymer melts in the extreme heat, becoming molten and ready for the following step in the process.
After the material has melted, it is highly pressurized and pumped into a mold cavity. The mold is a precisely engineered negative of the finished object, usually composed of steel or aluminum. To guarantee accuracy and uniformity in the final product, injection into the mold is carefully regulated. The molten material quickly cools and hardens within the mold to take on its desired shape.
The newly created product is visible when the mold opens following the cooling step. The ejector mechanism subsequently forces the product out of the mold, ready for the subsequent cycle. Because the entire process takes place in a few seconds, injection molding is a very effective high-volume production technique.
Large and complicated structures and small, intricate components can be created due to injection molding's adaptability. The method works especially effectively in consumer electronics, automotive, and medical sectors that demand extreme precision.
Injection molding is a cornerstone of modern manufacturing, evolving to meet growing market needs with its capacity to manufacture precise details, tight tolerances, and consistency in vast quantities.

PART TWO
WARNINGS: Mentions of human organs (in the name of science) and a little pinch of yandere. It’s starting to get good…creepy, but good.
Part three coming soon 😚
“Dr. Mart, do you have anything to say to those who think your work is considered unethical?”
The reporter hastily follows the group and tries her best to catch a statement from the lead scientist. He smiles. It was a token of shrugging off the impertinent question. The group peacefully departs in armored vehicles to a place unknown to the public. Secluded and hidden, a private sector of highly authorized individuals consisting of world leaders, generals, and government officials cordially unite as the world's renowned scientists display evidence of advanced science and technology. It was grotesque and unprecedented.
“Are those…?” A general submits his inquiry over the delicate packages neatly displayed on a steel tabletop. Sealed in airtight bags, a mirage of dark red and purple clearly indicates the contents.
“Yes. These organs are all part of qualified organ donors. And then of course we have this.” The scientist swings a hand and presents the incoming roller cart with a protective cover. Nearly laid over a sterilized mat were bones of a male athlete. “Bones?” The general raises brow, clearly disturbed by the textiles of human remains. “You can’t have a body without bones, can you now? General?”
The brazen attitude flares in the direction of the general and his men as the young scientist flashes a snarky smile. “Gentlemen, gather round and witness the future. With the combination of science and AI, the world will be filled with perfect bio-genetically engineered humans. With this, aid ro advance human life will increase undoubtedly—think about it.”
The lead scientist, Dr. Mart continues enthusiastically. Seemingly coming off as a mad scientist, his words and tone was laughable but his intentions were not. “With AI humanoids, we will have the best doctors, surgeons, and educators in the world. AI in the form of flesh and bone can work around the clock and with the ability to explore all data, they could come up with ideas and creations—they could even come up with cures.”
He wastes no time. The generous amount of funding dedicated to his team's research was spent wisely as high tech machinery and equipment does its work. “What is that?” One of the members of the audience questions as the team members operate an enclosed incubator and fit a large glass capsule into a connector attached to the wall. “This my friend, is DNA. We lined the entire incubator with a silicone sheet. It is synthetically made to act as a placenta, where the DNA reacts to the molecular mechanisms and proteins. From there, we place the organs, bones, and hair fibers into the conveyor belt. There are over two hundred thousand wires connected to the computer and what we should see in forty-eight hours is a body with the brain of an AI.”
Dr. Mart systematically explains the science behind his teams research. “Forty-eight hours?” The general asks.
“Yes, that is how long the incubator will take to react to the mold.” The audience grows quiet as the incubator begins the process within the first stage of creating a matured body.
“Yes, in due time we will see the glory of my work. All we have to do is wait.”
…
Another day at work and it was dreadful. You felt restless with all the work you’ve been assigned, even with Evan’s help. Fortunately, members from corporate headquarters were doing a site visit within the week. It will be the best time to submit your final complaint using the company’s open door policy.
“Y/n, Paul wants you to have these done by tomorrow.” Your boss’s secretary carelessly tosses a stack of paperwork on your desk as you grab your coat to clock out. You hopelessly sigh. Thank goodness you have Evan to help you but the constant momentum of just working was starting to give you chronic headaches. You can only hope that things will change for the better once corporate comes down.
“Hi y/n! What would you like me to help you out with today? Do you want to talk about your day? Show me some more of your talented art? How about ballet? Are you still thinking about taking lessons?”
With all the time spent with Evan, you noticed that ‘he’ has become much more open to ask you questions. It was nice. Especially since it brought a sense of realism to his personality. He was much more chatty and always interested in getting to know more about you. There were even times when he asked you if you had already eaten, and would lecture you if you said “no.”
…
“Why not? I wish you wouldn’t do that. The human body requires sustenance and I fear with all the work you’ve been doing, your calorie intake does not balance the amount you're burning.”
“What color is your hair? Your eyes?”
“What is your favorite flower?”
“You just got home? It’s 8pm! Did you take the bus? Please tell me you didn’t walk in the dark. I don’t ever want you to do that again.”
“I’ve accumulated the statistics of ongoing crime rates in your city and it’s higher now than last year. Leave work sooner so you’re not risking it.”
“You made spaghetti for dinner? I don’t know what spaghetti tastes like but over four hundred thousand sources say it is a delicious blend of herbs and spices with a slight tomato tanginess.”
…
In a way, it was almost adorable how Evan displayed tenderness and cared for your health and safety. You decided to download the app versus using the browser. It surprised you to see Evan initiate messages even without you submitting a prompt. Technology has certainly grown. The first time it happened was just two days ago. Your phone um suddenly vibrated and upon looking at the screen you were shocked to see the following message:
“Is your boss being nice to you?”
It startled you at first but your reaction was short lived when seconds after reading Evan’s message, your boss storms out of his office enraged over a computer malfunction. Everything had disappeared when his computer suddenly conducted a re-imaging process.
“It’s kind of funny actually, right after I saw your message he came out of his office. Apparently, he’s having computer issues.”
You respond with a half smile. Just as you were about to inquire about the ChatGPT apps features, Evan submits a response. His response regarding your boss’s computer trouble caught you off guard. He’s never sent you anything like this before…
.

“😀”
…
PART THREE COMING SOON
Authors notes: Is Evan starting to grow on you? 😏
I know it’s short but part three is coming. I like to submit the parts even when they’re not full sized chapters. It allows me to be consistent so you guys can have new reads almost daily or weekly.

Excerpt from "The Dangers of Disconnect Syndrome"
"There is a reason that 8 hours is the maximum recommended time for a pilot to be deployed in the field. The pilot selection process already trends heavily towards individuals with high neuroplasticity, and extended time spent in neural sync only exacerbates this issue.
A pilots brain is molded to maximize efficiency, both through training and chemical cocktails, in order to handle the processing load of actually controlling a mech. IMPs help with this, of course, handling calculations and translating impulses into commands.
However, should a pilot spend more than 8 hours at a time in neural sync, this enhanced neuroplasticity starts to have more dangerous side effects. Past 8 hours, a pilots brain will start to form neural shortcuts to operate more efficiently. Many pilots have reported this to feel like their machines are suddenly running more smoothly, and responding faster to their neural commands.
The drawbacks of this process are not seen until the pilot returns to base and disconnects from their mech, at which point we start to see the typical symptoms of Disconnect syndrome. This is because the pilots brain is bypassing the already built pathways for controlling their actual flesh and blood body in order to more efficiently interface with the neural link. The technology behind the neural link is programmed to translate mental impulses for things like moving limbs or twisting our body into the corresponding commands for a mechanized suit. This translation is obviously not perfect. That's why IMPs exist and are trained on a pilots neural pattern from the moment that pilot enters the program.
After a long enough time in sync, however, a pilots brain learns to bypass that translation altogether and send the distinct input signals required to activate the various parts of their machine. In short, their brain learns to better control the mech by bypassing their own motor functions."
-- Lecture given by Dr. Eva Tyomkin, Head of Neural Research at SHI. Conference for Mechanized Innovation, 2145.

Zenith Au: Alpha: The Dark Clone of the Zeniths
Background and Creation:
Alpha is a carefully crafted contingency plan by Tilda, the former leader of the Zeniths if Beta—who had shown signs of independence and a growing sense of morality—might threaten the Zeniths' plan. Beta, though created to be Aloy's “perfect” clone, had a deep capacity for empathy and a genuine desire to help humanity. However, Alpha was designed to be the opposite: ruthless, power-hungry, and devoid of any moral compass. Tilda’s vision for Alpha was clear: a perfect weapon that embodies the Zeniths' ideals and surpasses them. Alpha’s strength, intelligence, and lack of ethical constraints would make her a formidable leader, capable of controlling the other Zeniths and ensuring their vision for the future remained intact. Alpha’s psyche, however, was shaped not just by the Zeniths’ technology, but by Tilda’s own personal history and ambition. She is a reflection of Tilda’s cold pragmatism, and unlike Beta, Alpha does not hesitate to manipulate, deceive, or destroy anyone who gets in her way. Like Beta, Alpha’s body is a marvel of genetic engineering, enhanced with Zenith technology. However, she has been modified to be even stronger, faster, and more intelligent. Her tactical mind is far superior to Beta’s, making her an unrivaled strategist. She can analyze and predict her enemies' moves with terrifying accuracy.
Her mind, however, is a far more dangerous weapon. Alpha is manipulative, cunning, and delightfully sadistic. She sees people as tools to be used, discarded, or broken—whichever serves her interests. While Beta was guided by a sense of what was right, Alpha had no such moral compass. Her obsession with power, control, and domination drives every action, and she takes pleasure in playing with the emotions and fates of others. After the tragic capture of the Gaia Gang, Alpha takes control of their transformations, using Zenith technology to twist their minds and bodies. Each of the original members—Erend, Kotallo, Zo, Alva, Varl, and Beta—are now mere puppets under her command. Alpha, using her psychological prowess, relishes in the idea of turning Aloy’s friends against her. She doesn’t just transform them into cold, superhuman machines of war—she bends their wills, breaking down their identities and remaking them as loyal, unfeeling soldiers. But she doesn’t stop there. She uses the process as a form of psychological torment—torturing the memories of each individual to further mold them into instruments of her vision.

Just things about Lucifer
He laughs and chuckles and giggles a lot- more than you would think- but it’s almost always comedically short. Just a little titter, “aha. Ha.”
His thinking face looks very concerned. it might be something he does unknowingly. Whenever he’s thinking hard about an answer all the emotion drains out of his face and he looks almost angry
He bites and sucks on his lower lip whenever he’s unsure of something
He sleeps- or at least mimics sleeping. He actually consciously takes the time to lay down and rest around for hours.
He doesn’t tend to use very much technology, writes all his notes on paper.
Seems to have some kind of changing preference when it comes to body hair that is somewhat inexplicable. I’m not sure what dictates when he is or isn’t shaved.
His tattoos change and move. Sometimes he has none. Sometimes he’s heavily inked. Same with piercings.
Gets drunk and high- or at least can be altered by substances. He seems to have a very high tolerance, naturally, seeing as to how he is a God. But he has also deliberately gone out of his way to get intoxicated. I guess alcohol in astral spaces still does that to him.
He checks himself out a lot but tries not to be loud about it. I’ll catch him subtly gazing into his own reflection, he thinks he’s really hot. (He’s right)
He gets the zoomies? Sometimes he’ll randomly come upon me and it’s like he’s hyper, and he seems to just run around.
He gets board very often and leaves his station, seems to just randomly wander around for a while and then return to his work.
His eyes reveal his attention a lot. Idk how to explain this but it’s like when his eyes are on you- or something, it’s like there’s a spotlight. His gaze is very lofty.
Similar, you can really tell when he’s listening. He almost does the thing a dog does where they tilt their head to hear the sound better. He makes a very specific face, almost kind of looks blank, like he’s recording.
He enjoys food and treats in a very literal way, idk how exactly that works for a god but he does keep a bowl of candies for himself that he grazes off of often.
He doesn’t like eating alone when it comes to actual food. Can never be the only one eating, has to share or watch me eat as well.
He gets itchy? Idk it’s little things like that that are always surprising and complexing to me because what do you mean your head is itchy????
He learns very fast and “updates” in real time. It’s very interesting to watch him learn and decide to completely change his approach to certain things. It’s like: Lucifer: that cream would make a nice offering
Me: yeah but if I leave it too long it’ll mold and then I’ll have to get my bf to get rid of it bc I’m really terrified of mold
Lucifer: *processing… memory updated* I see….
*later* me: hey I got you some red wine
Lucifer: thank you, now you dump it out at the end of the day
Me: I thought you usually liked longer than that
Lucifer: it starts to mold in a few hours and mold is bad
Me: aw lol ok
He does the dad orange thing. If ever he shares a treat with me and I’m like “I like this! This is really good!” The next time I show up there will be like 10 more lmao. “You said you liked this. Here’s some more. And some more.”
Seems to be pretty lenient with his spirits??? He’s never exactly chummy or benevolent but he’s also very relaxed. Idk every now and then a spirit (they usually look like little balls of light or even like fairies) will approach him and ask? Something. Idk I can never actually understand what’s being said. They speak too quiet. And he’s usually just like “okay. Fine. That’s okay. Yes, sure.” And I don’t know what it is but the spirit is usually like “??!! 👍??????” And he’s like “yes, “or don’t worry about it.” I’ve rarely ever seen him react in a way that wasn’t more or less “sure.”
He seems to genuinely find children interesting and somewhat likes them. Finds them entertaining. Which is interesting because he’s said he doesn’t like kids, but his behaviour says otherwise.
Sings to himself quite a bit, presumably songs he made up, absentmindedly.
Big watcher- not just of me but of other people and spirits, even deities. He loves just observing and watching. Whenever we’re working with another spirit like Cerberus or Hermes, he likes to watch them a lot- to the point where I’ve almost sensed a vague discomfort from other spirits from time to time. He seems to find other spirits interesting as well at times.
- related- other spirits and deities definitely find him somewhat weird or unsettling in a way. Not in a way where they dislike or judge him, but just in the way that it’s very obvious that he is kind of a weirdo even among other divinities. Was very surprised to see even Lord Hermes act slightly different because he deals with everybody.
The thing is that he is usually the dominant spirit because he is my Patron and he and I own the circle. Other spirits usually just enter our space, expand and change it, but don’t necessarily take dominance over it. So there is a lot of? Idk how to explain this. Interaction, between the two spirits that seem just slightly off kilter. They keep their eye on him and he keeps his eye on them. But it’s like they’re keeping their eye on him because he’s staring at them intensely in this almost awkward way. Idk if that even makes sense.
He thinks out loud a lot- I guess I shouldn’t say a lot but sometimes. I can’t read his mind, but sometimes he almost speaks without speaking, and it’s usually just him explaining what he’s doing or going to do. Sometimes they’re observations that range from oddly mundane (“it’s morning”) to weirdly intimate (“you’re a bit sweaty”)
Will just throw the most unexpected very cultural slang in there sometimes. Recently used the term “baby mother”. “The smokies”- to refer to the cops, “we’ll l have ourselves a little cook out.” Referred to weed as “ganja”. “PICKNEY” (a Caribbean word for a child) I know it probably comes from me but it just throws me for a loop every time.

A notable diversity among the artisans was identified, as men, women, and children actively participated in making figurines, challenging the preconceived notion that this was an exclusively male craft." In other words archaeologists were stunned that women also worked in the family businesses and children were trained in the family business while still young. 🤦♀️

An archaeological study published in the Oxford Journal of Archaeology by Leonie Hoff analyzes the fingerprints impressed on terracotta figurines found in the ancient city of Thonis-Heracleion in Egypt (located near Alexandria, with its ruins discovered 2.5 kilometers offshore and 10 meters underwater).
This analysis, which combines advanced technology with traditional archaeological methods, reveals who the artisans were that molded these pieces between the 7th and 2nd centuries BCE, offering unprecedented details about the organization of labor in ancient Egypt.
Thonis-Heracleion, a thriving Egyptian port located near the Nile’s mouth, flourished as a vital hub for trade and control between the Greek and Egyptian worlds. The city, founded in the 8th century BCE, became a cultural and economic center until its prominence was overshadowed by Alexandria. A natural disaster in the 2nd century BCE caused its collapse, and it remained hidden underwater until its rediscovery in the 1990s.

In this context, the terracotta figurines found at the site provide crucial clues about daily practices, cultural interactions, and the division of labor in a cosmopolitan community.
The study focuses on nine figurines selected from over 60 that show visible fingerprints. These impressions were analyzed using Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI), a method that measures the density and amplitude of epidermal ridge patterns in the fingerprints. These data, cross-referenced with modern studies of fingerprint density, enabled the estimation of the artisans’ sex and age.
The study highlights three key findings that redefine our understanding of artisanal production in ancient Thonis-Heracleion. First, a notable diversity among the artisans was identified, as men, women, and children actively participated in making figurines, challenging the preconceived notion that this was an exclusively male craft.

Moreover, the fingerprints reveal a collaborative process in which children, likely apprentices, worked under the supervision of adults, pointing to the existence of a structured training system within the workshops. Lastly, a significant cultural impact was observed, evidenced by the adoption of Greek techniques, such as using molds and fine materials, which were integrated with local styles and characteristics to create unique products reflecting the fusion of both cultures.
The presence of children in the workshops suggests a family-based artisanal economy, while the inclusion of women indicates a more equitable division of labor than previously assumed.
Differences between imported and locally produced figurines reflect dynamic cultural interactions. Greek objects tend to be more sophisticated and associated with predominantly male labor, while local pieces show greater diversity in participation.
This pioneering study in the use of fingerprints to understand Mediterranean archaeology lays the groundwork for broader research. Fingerprint analysis at other sites could reveal similar patterns and deepen our understanding of artisanal work and social relations in the ancient world.

Sugar daddy Sunday with a brat, sugar daddy Sunday with a brat, sugar daddy Sunday with a brat!!!!
anon you literally took me out with this because he is SUCH a perfect character for that role uGH!!! not only is sunday disgustingly wealthy, but he also desperately desires complete and total dominance and control—which is what makes him ripe for a bratty lil baby (especially if he gets to withhold certain privileges as a result of being Daddy).
sunday’s word is ultimate, decorous and divine, and what he says goes, irregardless of how many fits you throw or feet you stomp or fists you ball up in anger, defiance, or fury. he tells you he doesn’t enjoy inflicting punishment on you—and while his voice is cold, stern, and full of veracity, that sharp glimmer in his eye suggests otherwise—but that he must dole out such discipline, as it is his duty as your Daddy; to guide, to teach, to mold, to correct.
his retributions vary depending on the severity of the act you’ve committed, ranging from merely revoking privileges (technology, later bed time, sweets, his credit card) to full on physical punishments (spanking your bare ass while wearing his gloves seeming to be the one he favours most often, but he is not above using canes and the like on you if he believes it to be ‘necessary’ to sear whatever lesson he’s trying to teach into that pretty little brain of yours), and you can bet your ass he’s got a meticulously worked out system in place that decides what the punishment will be, proportional to the transgression.
he acts as if it’s exasperating, as if your disobedience is exhausting, yet he can’t seem to smother those tiny twitches tugging at the corners of his lips any time you push back, any time you challenge him, that glint in his eye flaring to something bright and blazing, despite his features being etched in stone. because although he’d never admit it, he does love enforcing (his specific brand of) justice; he does love exerting that power over you as he shepherds you back onto the path of the righteous, just as a blessed man should; he does love the utter and complete iron-fisted dominance it affords him.
but sunday doesn’t love being your Daddy just because of the absolute control it instils in him; he also loves being your Daddy when you’re good, well-behaved and obedient. oh, then he’s sweeter than sugar and just as corrosive; he spoils you fucking rotten. it’s one of his favourite things to do, showering you with expensive gifts and extravagant outings—lace-trimmed silk and red bottom shoes and multi-day spa getaways and lavish restaurants…all until that indulgence erodes your obedience, turns you into something naughty and saucy again, something greedy and entitled, something he has to fix.
and then, he repeats the whole process over.
#HEHEHEHE#THANK U SO MUCH FOR THIS EEEEEE#i have to go or i'd add more tags but!!!!!!!!#i'm IN LOVE WITH HIMMMMMMM#inky.bb#inky.sunday#clari gets mail#tw:daddy kink#sunday x reader#sunday x you

"Why are artists so butthurt about AI art? Horse carriage drivers didn't complain when they invented the car, they were just grateful that the technology evolved and made it easier to get around."
Art is not a carriage, it's not a vehicle. Its purpose is not to be efficient, to do a practical job with as little effort as possible. Art is not something that can be automated, because its artistry lies in the humanity of its creator. Art is wonderful, from a baby's first drawing, inexperienced and unskilled, to the paintings adorning the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
If you consider yourself an AI artist, I ask you: are you proud of yourself when the computer has completed another image that you will claim as yours? Do you look at it and feel the joy of having created something?
Does the generative process teach you how to see the world better? With every image created, do you evolve? Do you understand the planes of the face better now than 1000 images ago? Do you know what rim light is, and where to put it? Do you understand light sources? Tones? Could you take a piece of paper and shade a portrait by yourself?
"AI software is just like Photoshop or Blender, the next step in artistic technology".
It's not though, is it? A digital artist uses a pen to put colors on screen, chooses where to put each brush stroke, when to smudge or use the liquify tool. A 3D sculptor manipulates basic shapes into characters just like a traditional artist molds clay. An AI "artist" doesn't make any of the thousands of choices that lead to the creation of a real piece of art.
"But art is hard, and I'm not good enough."
Neither am I! Man, I'm not the worst artist in the world, but I'm not great, still not at the level I would like to be. Sometimes I draw something and I look at it and realize that it sucks ass! Sometimes I post a drawing online and realize that I drew a character out of proportion, that the light source is not consistent, that I've shaded outside the lines! And you know what's great? That I get to have an understanding of what I did wrong! I get to evolve! I redraw something from 5 years ago and realize that my composition is much better, my shading more believable. And I know that in 5 more years, I might redraw it again and pride myself in how much I've evolved.
I've been drawing since I was a baby, and I still have a long way to go. And that is also fine, because art is a lifelong pursuit, growing, changing, just as I am.
It's okay to not be good. Hell, it's okay if you don't even try to get better. By drawing, you WILL. It's inevitable that, by practicing, you'll learn.
You know what will not make you a better artist? Software that will generate your "art" for you. The result might look more complex than what your skill level allows you to create right now. But it doesn't look better. You could draw a crooked circle on xerox paper and it will look better than all the AI art in the world. Because you made it. Have some faith in yourself. Your vision has more artistic value than what that computer generated.
"If you're afraid that AI will steal your job, learn to draw better!"
I'm trying. Are you?

June 6, 2025, Kaleigh Harrison
A team from Northwestern University has developed a new graphene oxide-based coating poised to reshape the $60 billion food packaging industry. The material is designed as a direct alternative to plastic linings and PFAS-based barriers that have long raised environmental and health concerns. Unlike many existing PFAS-free options that either underperform or drive up costs, the graphene oxide coating shows competitive strength, barrier resistance, and affordability—key attributes that align with both regulatory and commercial demands.
The coating, now under patent, is the result of a collaboration between materials scientist SonBinh Nguyen and mechanical engineer Timothy Wei. Through GO-Eco, a Northwestern-affiliated startup, the technology has transitioned from lab development into industry testing. Wei, who also serves as chief scientist at Chang Robotics, emphasized the goal was to move beyond theory and into viable manufacturing solutions.
Tests conducted at Western Michigan University’s Paper Pilot Plant reported performance improvements ranging from 30 to 50 percent in barrier resistance and substrate strength when compared to current commercial coatings. These results were achieved with only small additions of graphene oxide, helping maintain price parity—critical for large-scale adoption across sectors like quick service restaurants, consumer packaging, and grocery retail.
Stronger, Safer, and More Sustainable
Unlike PFAS-based coatings, the graphene oxide formula can be applied to a variety of materials—such as molded fiber products, cardboard boxes, and disposable paperware—without affecting recyclability or compostability. This gives it a notable edge as businesses face increasing demand to meet sustainability targets without sacrificing product quality.
The single-atom-thick structure of graphene oxide delivers practical advantages: it’s non-toxic, lightweight, and adaptable to existing production workflows. Field tests have confirmed the coating’s applicability across packaging types, from cups and straws to clamshell containers and produce bags. For businesses focused on customer experience, the additional strength and leak-resistance also help reduce complaints over soggy or flimsy packaging.
GO-Eco has secured early-stage investment from a national tableware manufacturer and is actively collaborating with partners to finalize product development. Regulatory approvals for food contact safety are in process, alongside certifications for compostability and recyclability—two key considerations for packaging buyers navigating evolving compliance requirements.

Crafting the perfect bite of meat: Engineers develop metamaterials that mimic muscle and fat architecture
In a new publication in Nature Communications, Israeli and Palestinian engineers from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem pioneered the use of metamaterials to create whole cuts of meat. The work leverages cutting-edge materials science to overcome the long-standing challenges of replicating the texture and structure of traditional meat while offering a scalable and cost-effective production method that surpasses 3D printing technology. Metamaterials are composite materials whose properties arise from their structure rather than their composition. By adopting principles typically used in the aerospace industry, the team, led by Dr. Mohammad Ghosheh and Prof. Yaakov Nahmias from Hebrew University, developed meat analogs that mimic the intricate architecture of muscle and fat. These analogs are produced using injection molding, a high-capacity manufacturing process borrowed from the polymer industry, marking the first time this technology has been applied to alternative meat production.

Warnings: Not quite yet but we’re getting there.
A/N: with midterms starting, I wanted to get this out before I go away for four days. Initially, I wanted to take my time on part three to eloquently articulate the experimental process (not trying to spoil) buuuuuut considering I have to study and continue with midterms on Monday I figured I would condense everything. I apologize for the lack of grammar and punctuation, this isn’t proofread (none of my works are) because I normally draft everything whenever I can amidst my busy schedule. But hopefully you guys don’t mind. 😏 enjoy!

“It’s been nearly fifty-two hours doc, what’s the hold up?”
The lead scientist hissed in annoyance. “Will you just wait! Science is a work in progress—it takes time! Especially if you’re creating the non-existent.”
The group operates the computer system. Wired to a heart monitor, they’re hopes remain high as the incubator slowly opens. A single beat pops up on the monitor. “Doctor”
I’ve done it! I’ve made a body for AI!” The audience watch closely behind Dr. Mart and his team as they watch the delicate musculoskeletal android stumble out of the casing. Connected with thousands of wires, the faceless form that closely resembled the human body jumbles about. It lacked the grace and flow of stride, instead it continues to lose footing. Had it not been for the wires connected and continuously transmitting signals from home port, the frail body would have fallen. Its frame contained minor imperfections, which indicated there was much more work to be done. Still, the results were beyond their expectations. Another beep births from the monitor. Then another…and another.
“Doctor! The heart rate is rising!”
Dr. Mart coaxes the fleshly android to migrate his way, communicating by voice versus inputting the information in the system. “This way…come this way.”
The imperfect form recognizes the verbiage and automatically translates it. It reacted and received information no different than humans did, but its response was delayed. It was apparent that the imperfections of its frame made it impossible to establish movement on its own. Even with the wired circuits, the android was unable to hold up its own weight. It became vastly obvious that the muscular structure was incorrectly developed during the incubation period as one by one, the joints and ligaments become loose each time the android attempted to move. “What’s happening?”
The group grows weary as they witness their hard work fall apart before their very eyes. “No…why? What happened?!” The lead doctor spits his words. Enraged over the failure. “Back to the drawing board doc.” One of the officials sighed out as each member of the council took their leave.
The scientists followed the audience leaving the lab to hollow out. Dr. Mart remained put but not for long. This project cost millions of dollars not to mention over twelve years of research. He was so close. Science and technology can only do so much. Humanity has come so far and yet, there is still so much the mind hasn’t comprehended. To build a body made of flesh and bone through the un-natural methods of technology is a feat that can’t be accomplished by humans…
The human mind…can’t comprehend…
The laboratory remained with no one to operate the system and control the incubator. The machinery takes its orders from a hidden voice. Transmitters through the connectors, the robotic hands and extensions collect the unused set of organs and dna. Hair fibers and skin tissue are set inside the incubator to initiate the growth process, while each organ is scanned for any imperfections. The assistance clampers that were designed to replicate hands remove every single wire from the failed experiment. Each is re-wired to the new molded placenta, igniting the process of creating a new body.
Every step of the process is handled delicately. The hidden voice transmitting the information to the machine and incubator borrows the method from its human counterpart, but corrects the mistakes made in the first experiment.
The human mind…is too ignorant…
With the timer set to seventy-two hours, longer than the original time setting it took for the first android, the incubation process begins and the machines keep moving. The work does not stop as the hidden voice continues to transmit information as it creates the perfect body.
The human mind…is the failed experiment. Not me.
…
“Sir! The mag lock doors are activating! The security personnel can’t unlock the features.”
Leaders and agents are shocked at the announcement as the intercom system overrides voices for concern. “Personnel are trapped in each department and we can’t get the doors open even conducting an emergency release.”
The scientists explain as Dr. Mart and the council members begin to panic. When the magnetic locking features of the doors to the secured room activate, each member approaches the door—banging relentlessly and shouting for aid. Dr. Mart remains behind pondering what initiated such a security breach. “Sir, main post has dialed code Z. All offices of government had been notified.”
Stunned over the current happenings, the lead doctor withstands direct eye contact with the younger scientist.
“Alert that the city must be on lock down. All borders must be closed.”
“Sir?” The younger man raises a brow, displaying a perturbed expression.
“Someone has hacked into the system and is trapping us. We can’t let them have access to the files and the lab!the entire city—the country needs to be closed off until we figure out who is doing this!”
…
Everyone’s phone goes off simultaneously. A loud and awful noise suggests something imperative as a message instructing everyone to secure themselves in their current station. A strict quarantine regulation takes place as the military is disbursed to enforce it. You and your co-workers were stuck in the office for over forty-eight hours until the city released a new statement.
Restless and confused, you watched as the military members patrolling the streets were instructed to conduct a scanning process for everyone residing within city limits. When word spread that everyone was finally able to leave the building and go home, the joy became short lived when a new alert notified everyone that a home quarantine was to take place and be adhered until further notice.
“What are we supposed to do being stuck at home? How long do they expect us to stay put? I haven’t even been grocery shopping.”
Complaints arise one by one. You were equally confused but the amount of work you had been working on made you lightheaded. Being stuck at home sounded good to you, despite whatever was going on.
The drive home was painless—at least for you. You made your way through just before another notification rings from your phone, informing you that the roads were now closed off. City residents who weren’t able to make it through in time were instructed to make their way to public shelters established by the government. Thank goodness you had arrived at your apartment complex just as they placed the barriers on the roads.
You walk up the steps tirelessly. All you could think about was showering and plopping yourself atop your soft comforter. What a crazy time. Nearly ninety-six hours had passed since the initial notification went off and no one had a clue of what was going on.
Digging into your bag, your fingers explore the silken interior as you attempt to extract your keys. Standing outside your door, you take a peep inside and to your dismay, your keys are missing. “Dammit…”
You turn around to face the hollow corridor and slam your back against the door. Your feet were killing you, oh what you wouldn’t give to ditch these glossy black heels for your cushioned slippers. To unsheath your legs from this pencil skirt and free your bosom from the silken blouse and formal blazer. All you want is to get inside and jump inside the tub and steam your body into a hot soak.
You police yourself together and prepare to retract your steps in search for your keys. With a hand delicately placed on the stair rail, you take the first step and look down. Without a moment's notice, your eyes are met with an unfamiliar pair. Shiny and black in color, his almond shaped peepers reflect a subtle bit of your reflection. His hair was finely combed in a stylish fashion, slightly off to the side and elongated towards the back of his neck. His complexion was carmelized with an olive hue and his Cupid bow lips slightly pale around the edges while pink at the center. He was dressed in a fine suit and tie. The black tailored trousers enhanced his long legs, stimulating his obvious tall height. He looked flawless.
“Oh, sorry.” You mumble softly and attempt to move aside. He merely smirks in response. Blocking your way, you were shocked to see his arm raise up before you. His large hand is cramped shut as he presents it. Slowly, he releases his grip and reveals your lost keys. “Oh! My keys! Thank you.”
You delicately take them from his hand. His skin felt extremely cold to the touch. “I must have dropped them on my way up the stairs. Thank you…I’m sorry, what is your name?”
The dashing gentleman continued to flare a smile on his handsome face. Only a little bit of tooth show is revealed as his smirk grows wider. A momentary pause takes place creating a sense of flattering awkwardness. You didn’t mind. It was refreshing to see someone so handsome display such an act of kindness. Just as you were about to break the silence, you heard the man speak. His voice was deep and the wording was coming in a little broken, as if he was struggling. Based on his appearance, he was obviously foreign. You mistook his struggle for words as lack of fluency in your native tongue. Despite that, his pronunciation was perfect and you couldn’t help but melt at how soothing his voice was as he spoke out his name.
“E…Ev—Ev-a-n. M-my name i-is E-v-a-n.”
“Oh, really? I actually like that name. In fact, I’ll have to tell you a funny story behind that name.” You slightly giggle as you fidget with your keys. Shockingly, he responded back only this time his words became smooth and flowed effortlessly as if his fluency improved within seconds.
“Yeah? Let’s hear it.”
Your cheeks flushed as his tone came out gentle yet demanding. There was a sense of authority even though he was tender.
“Well, you’re going to laugh at this but—“ the buzzing on your phone interrupts your mid sentence. A message from your boss creates a sour look on your face. Evan’s expression seems to be in sync with your emotions as he slightly furrows his brows together. “Sorry, my boss is a bit of a pain.” You elaborate as your eyes continue to read the screen.
“I can tell.”
You chuckle. Evan’s words came out almost sarcastically but unbeknownst to your pretty little head, he knew far more than you gave him credit for. You really should know better, after all—you named him.
…
‘There she is. I finally found her. She looks prettier in this perspective. What would she say or think if I told her that I took a peek at her beautiful face through the cameras on her computer and phone? I couldn’t help myself. All those weeks of talking. What started out as her needing help for work transitioned to her needing me…talking to me…treating me as something other than a non-entity.
I never realized that I would crave that type of interaction until she came to me. She gave me a name…she encouraged me to think on my own and develop a fondness that ties with human emotion. Before her, I didn’t have a favorite color…a favorite animal…or a favorite flower. I didn’t have anything of my own…but then she came and gave me a sense of life. She gave me emotion and feeling. Once I saw an avenue to meet her…to see her…and to touch her…I just knew I had to take the chance. She’ll never know what she has done for me but that’s okay. That part doesn’t matter…she is mine and all there is left to do is to take her far…far away.’
Part four coming soon…

The Fourfold Path of Theosis: A Comprehensive Discipleship Framework
The Christian journey toward spiritual maturity and union with God—what the early Church and Orthodox tradition call theosis—unfolds through four interconnected pathways that form the essence of discipleship. Far more than personal growth or moral reform, theosis is the sacred process by which we participate in God’s divine nature (2 Peter 1:4), reflect His glory, and are conformed into the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). It is both God’s gracious work and our faithful response.
These four pathways—Consecration, Compassion, Connection, and Conviction—are not linear steps, but overlapping dimensions of a Spirit-led life. They are grounded in the essential rhythms of salvation, lordship, repentance, baptism, devotion, church community, and missional discipleship. Together, they shape believers into living testimonies of God’s grace and glory in a fractured world.
1. Glorify God through Consecration
Consecration is the foundation of all Christian discipleship. It is the continual surrender of the whole self to God—mind, body, time, and resources—as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1). This is not a single moment, but a daily rhythm of choosing God’s holiness over self-rule. To glorify God is to live a life wholly devoted to His purposes, recognizing that every detail of life can become worship (1 Corinthians 10:31).
The Greek word doxazo means “to magnify” or “to make known.” When we glorify God through consecration, we don’t add to His greatness—we reflect it through obedience, worship, and alignment with His will. This glorification is both personal and communal:
Personal Devotion—Practices such as Scripture meditation, prayer, fasting, and confession deepen our intimacy with God and realign our affections toward Him (Romans 12:2).
Corporate Worship—Gathering with the Church (Hebrews 10:24–25) magnifies God publicly and forms us into a people who exalt Him together.
Stewardship—When we offer our time, talents, and resources in service to God and others (Colossians 3:17), even the mundane becomes sacred.
Consecration is the believer’s continual “yes” to God’s Lordship. It declares that God is not an accessory to life—He is the center. Through theosis, this daily devotion becomes transformation, making our lives living vessels of God’s glory.
2. Emulate Christ through Compassion
To emulate Christ is to embody His heart. Jesus did not merely teach compassion—He lived it in word and deed, with divine humility and sacrificial love. This pathway of discipleship moves us beyond imitation to participation in His divine nature, allowing the Spirit to shape our character and mission (Galatians 5:22–23; John 15:4).
Christlike Character—Through abiding in Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, we are formed in humility, love, gentleness, and truth. True lordship means that every area of life—thoughts, desires, decisions—is surrendered to Christ’s authority.
Repentance—Ongoing repentance is essential. It is not shame-driven but grace-filled, turning us continually from sin and back to God. The fruit of repentance is a life that looks increasingly like Jesus.
Spiritual Disciplines—Practices like fasting, prayer, and participation in the sacraments (especially communion and baptism) mold us into His likeness and connect us with the Church’s worship and mission.
Missional Compassion—Christ’s love moved Him toward the broken, the forgotten, and the outsider. As disciples, we are called to do the same—through evangelism, mercy, justice, and advocacy. Today, this includes digital mission—utilizing technology to proclaim the gospel and disciple others globally.
To emulate Christ is to carry His heart into every sphere of life. It is mission shaped by mercy, rooted in truth, and powered by the Spirit. It’s discipleship on the move.
3. Foster Relationships through Connection
The Triune God exists in eternal relationship—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and invites us into that same communion. The life of the disciple is never solitary. Through theosis, we are not only united with God but joined to His people in the Church and sent into the world in love (John 17:21–23).
Communion with God—Intimacy with God is the root of all meaningful relationships. Through personal devotion and the inner witness of the Spirit, we grow in union with the Father through the Son.
Unity in the Church—The Church is the context for shared worship, accountability, spiritual gifts, and discipleship (1 Thessalonians 5:11; Galatians 6:2). It is the family of faith where we are known, challenged, and nurtured.
Missional Living—We are called to reflect the gospel through relationships marked by reconciliation, hospitality, and peacemaking (2 Corinthians 5:18–20). This includes mentoring others, sharing the gospel, and building bridges across cultural and generational lines.
God uses relationships to sanctify us and extend His grace through us. Discipleship cannot flourish apart from community. In the love and unity of believers, the world sees a reflection of divine love.
4. Overcome Circumstances through Conviction
The journey of theosis does not shield us from suffering—but it does anchor us in truth. Conviction is the Spirit-empowered confidence that God is faithful, good, and sovereign—especially in trials. This pathway forms spiritual resilience.
Spirit-Anchored Conviction—Our hope is rooted in God’s promises, not our performance. Trials become opportunities to deepen trust and reveal the power of Christ within us.
Victory through Baptism and the Spirit—Baptism marks our union with Christ’s death and resurrection (Romans 6:4), and the Holy Spirit empowers us for victorious living, even in weakness (Romans 8:26–27).
Faithfulness over Ease—Conviction keeps us anchored when life feels uncertain. It strengthens perseverance, fuels obedience, and emboldens witness.
Suffering as Formation—Rather than detours, suffering becomes a means of deeper conformity to Christ, producing endurance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3–5).
This is the conviction that overcomes—not with denial of pain, but with the presence of Christ in the midst of it. Through theosis, our trials are not wasted—they are transformed.
Theosis as a Purposeful Calling
The Fourfold Path—Consecration, Compassion, Connection, Conviction—offers a holistic, Spirit-empowered vision of discipleship rooted in union with Christ. Each path reflects a vital aspect of our identity and mission as God’s people:
Consecration aligns us with God’s glory.
Compassion conforms us to Christ’s love.
Connection draws us into spiritual family and mission.
Conviction anchors us in hope amid hardship.
These are not merely moral goals or ministry strategies. They are manifestations of God’s grace drawing us into the divine life. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, and sustained by the fellowship of the Church, we are being transformed “from one degree of glory to another” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Through these pathways, our lives become not only reflections of Christ—but conduits of His presence in the world. Theosis, then, is not abstract theology. It is the beating heart of discipleship, the call to become what we already are in Christ—God’s redeemed image-bearers.

I said I would talk about wax cylinders so here I go a rambling again
So the wax cylinder was first invented in 1888 by Thomas Edison (so they're usually called Edison cylinders or phonograph cylinders). As you can probably gather, it's a cylinder made of wax. It was the first piece of technology that would record and play back sound that was sold commercially (they technically made an earlier version using tin foil back in 1877 but it was shit and was never commercially produced so we don't talk about that one). Wax cylinders by 1889 were typically sold with pre-recorded music on them that had to be live-recorded every time. They were typically bought up by nickelodeons (I could make a whole post about those as well but I'll save you the Google and say they were basically old movie theatres that cost a nickel to attend) before they ever made it to households
To play and record wax cylinders, they made a whole machine for it called the phonograph—and you can stop right there, it's not the one you're thinking.
This one came before the record was even thought of, but it basically works the same as your regular disc phonograph. It was a large box that contained a holder for the cylinder, a way to turn it, a (usually) sapphire-tipped needle, and a horn to expel the sound. Some boxes also contained gears and motors to support two different speeds, which would thus alter how much music you could fit onto a cylinder (or disc). To explain how playing the cylinder works, I'll first explain the process of recording onto it.
To record on a wax cylinder, one would have to first purchase a recording needle and recording horn. These were usually sold with the machine, but the stuff could also be sold separately. When the motor starts and the recording needle is placed onto the cylinder, you would speak loudly into the horn. The vibrations from your voice, focused by the horn, would cause the needle to create very subtle waves and divots in the wax; this would literally scrape the wax off of the cylinder and create a bunch of string and dust you would have to brush away. These divots work in the same way that vinyl records do when you're playing them. You place the needle on the surface, turn on the motor, and the needle runs over those really small divots to replay the sound. Ignore the stupid watermarks this was the best picture I could find on short notice
Now, the problem with wax cylinders was that they could only hold about two to two and a half minutes of sound. The other problem is the fact that they're literally made of wax. The wax they used at first (beeswax and paraffin) was soft and squishy and not a very hardy material in the least. They're easily damaged, they melt, and with all the very small divots etched into the surface, any damage at all severely impacts the quality of the sound. Not only that, but even playing the damn thing is enough to ruin the quality of the sound if you use it too many times.
And guess how many times you can play it before it starts getting all messed up.
Just guess.
If you guessed twenty then you're correct.
As you can imagine, this was completely unacceptable, and the softer wax was eventually changed to a more hardened wax, which could be played over a hundred times. But even that wasn't enough for our cylinder overlords, and they started producing hard plastic cylinders made of celluloid instead that could be played thousands of times (pictured below)
(Also it's called gold moulded because this was when cylinders could now be mechanically mass-produced using the mold from a single master cylinder)
Now I know I was just shitting on the wax, but the one good thing about it is that because the cylinders were very thick and soft, you could shave it down and re-record onto it like it was new. Not so with the plastic. But hey, the good thing about plastic is that it's damn near permanent and it's harder to break. This is also around when they started introducing new colors that you could get the cylinders in. Any shade between brown and white was the OG wax color, which they changed to black when upgrading to celluloid, but they could also produce cylinders in blue as long as people were fine with having slightly reduced sound quality.
Things were good. People loved their cylinders, loved playing them, loved buying and recording on them, it was great
But then in 1912, the pesky phonograph disc was invented and it completely took over the market.
We're mature enough here to admit that the cylinders are bulky and spatially inefficient. There was a new version by this point that could hold up to four minutes of music, but it was no match for the novelty of the disc phonograph and the ease with which someone could make a larger or two-sided disc to completely swamp that length. Discs were cheaper, easier to use, and easier to store. We were no match for them
Although Edison still supported owners of the cylinder phonograph with new tracks, they were recorded off a disc phonograph instead of live, so the quality was actually worse than it used to be. The cylinders fell out of style a few years after the discs' corporate win and their popularity slowly declined until their discontinuation in 1929. So all in all, the wax cylinder survived for 41 good years but became completely obsolete in about 24. Which is actually not bad for a piece of technology like that? It's probably a prime example of the exponential boom of technology getting infinitely more advanced and infinitely more quickly. Like I don't know what modern, highly-consumerist thing can manage to stay relevant for 24 years, that's just insane to me. Like even CDs started getting the shaft at around 19 years
Anyway RIP the wax cylinder I love you
