If My Heart had a better translation in the first place.

So I, like a fool, played through most of Kotori’s route (i.e. the entire intro + starting Kotori’s route) before I was even aware there was an issue with the MoeNovel translation. The further I got into the game, the worst the translation got.

Now, I’ve played quite a few fan-translated games in the past, as well as watched a lot of fan-translated anime (back in the old days, before awesome groups were around to do translations) and they have ranged from ‘okay, I think I understand what they are saying there’ to god awful.

So I was surprised when more and more lines in Kotori’s route were moving from the ‘Okay, I think I understand’ (grokking from context) to "WHAT THE FUCK, THAT ARRANGEMENT OF WORDS MAKES ZERO SENSE IN ANY ENGLISH VARIANT I FUCKING KNOW!”

So about, what, fifteen hours in and the translation breaks down to all hell. I wonder what the heck, because it had an overwhelmingly positive reviews on steam. So I do what I always do when I start noticing issues in a highly rated game... check out those negative reviews.

And what do I find? The whole saga that was MoeNovel’s decision to take a H game and convert it to something a 13 year old girl in france could play. Okay, strange choice there, guys, but alright.

So truth be told, I gave up on the game. The degradation of the translation through the game was destroying my enjoyment of it, I shouldn’t have to go forward in the game, then scroll back to try and understand what the fuck was said in the first place. The translation started off pretty damn good, and just goes downhill from there.

So recently, I reinstalled the game, along with the Fuwanovel translation of the game (See how to install on steam), and while there are a few proof reading errors (I’ve seen on Iif, and one misspelling of a name) but for most part, it is a pretty good translation, especially when it gets to the point where MoeNovel starts to break down.

The hardest part it... like I said, I’ve already spent, what 15+ hours on this novel, and having to restart and go through the old stuff again has been tedious. There are large parts I am just skipping through, hoping I won’t miss anything important that MoeNovel pulled out.

Also, be warned, the Fuwanovel version has bewbs. And possibly v-jayjays, though I’ve not gotten up to that part yet.

But yeah, if you have the chance to play this game, for the LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY play the Fuwanovel translation, not the shitshow that was MoeNovel.

In fact, if you can, buy the Japanese version of the game, then play the english patched version. Don’t give your money to MoeNovel. I understand trying to tone something down from a H-game to one for all audiences, but at least get your mother fucking translations right.

Apparently the MoeNovel version of Ageha’s route is beyond fucked, because (and I am going off what others have said, as I have not gotten to this part yet) her route was very H heavy, so they butchered her arc to pieces to try and make it all ages friendly.

I am now suffering through what is, ostensibly, a good game. I am suffering because I am having to replay 15+ hours which I have, for most part, already played, but do want to skip on the off chance MoeNovel fucked anything else up. I am still hours away from getting back up to where I was (the chapter where Asa and Yoru come back into the game in a big way) and it is like pulling teeth.

So please. Do yourself a favor, and stick with the Fuwanovel translated one. Or you will be like me, and regretting it for years.

Jika kalian sama sepertiku yang suka VN All-ages, VN satu ini tak boleh dilewatkan, apalagi kalau kalian juga suka dengan astronomi.

-STORY-

Cerita berpusat pada Akito dan teman masa kecilnya Saya dan Hikari.Saat kecil, Akito dan teman masa kecilnya sering berkumpul dan melihat bintang di langit bersama setiap malam dengan teleskop yang ditinggalkan ayahnya. Namun, sekarang ini Akito tidak lagi memandang bintang dan menerima sebutan "Member klub astronomy yang tidak pernah melihat bintang".Suatu ketika, Akito mendapat undangan untuk menghadiri pertemuan klub-klub astronomy dari berbagai sekolah di kotanya. Dengan rencana salah satu ketua klub yang hadir, mereka ingin membangkitkan "Pleiades bersaudara" yaitu perkumpulan 6 klub astronomy yang tersebar di kota tempat tinggalnya. Di rute Hikari-pun hampir sama seperti rute Ageha, [SPOILER]hikari selalu menjauh dari akito, karena dia merasa menghianati sesorang jika dia bersama dengan akito[END OF SPOILER]. Mirip kan?. Walaupun begitu, aku terhibur dengan rom-com yg hadir diantara mereka berdua.

Orihime, sosok senpai polos yang kekanak-kanakan. Aku tidak tahan dengan kepolosan senpai satu ini pada rutenya 😅. ORIHIME-SENPAI IS THE BEST!.

Korona, adik dari teman Akito yang selalu mengidamkan bergabung dengan trio-penikmat bintang, tetapi terhalang karena larangan orang tuanya. Well, rute satu ini bisa dibilang membosankan. Lebih seperti merawat adik sendiri daripada pacar.

-GAMEPLAY-

Terdapat 4 rute heroine yang dapat dipilih. Perlu diingat, untuk common routenya sendiri terbagi menjadi dua pada saat muncul pilihan pertama.Untuk common route menghabiskan sekitar 20~jam untuk menyelesaikan, dan 5-8 jam rute tiap heroines.Nah, yang aku suka ni.. Di rilisan kedua Moenovel ini lebih sedikit sensor pada kata di dialog, tidak seperti rilisan mereka yang pertama, Konosora, yang memiliki banyak sekali sensor pada kata.Untuk adegan hentai, karena ini versi All-ages jadi adegan hentai tersebut diganti dengan adegan ciuman. Mereka tidak menghapusnya, tapi "menggantinya". Hmm.. selama 5-10 menit baca dialog dan desahan pas ciuman apa gak bosen?.

-CG dan MUSIK-

Untuk CG, sama seperti adegan hentai, mereka tidak menghapus tapi merubahnya agar cocok untuk versi All-ages. Misal, saat trio sedang mandi di sumber air panas, saat mereka bertiga saling bertukar pandang melihat tubuh satu sama lain, pada bagian dada dan bagian bawah Saya dan Hikari ditutupi oleh asap, dan saat giliran Akito, daripada menunjukan bagian depannya, CG disini dirubah menjadi Akito yang membelakangi kamera.Untuk musik tidak usah diragukan lagi, favoritku Around The Earth, Star Map, Stargazer.
