Day 3 of My Pokémon Yellow Nuzlocke Challenge!
Today will be a bit shorter than others since I do the church thing and then use Sunday as a calm, lazy napping day. Still, I can see where the day gets me.
First up will be finishing up these trainers and then getting my encounter for the route.
Route 3 Encounter—Spearow/AngryBoi
Hp: 30
Attack: 18
Defense: 12
Speed: 22
Special: 13
You know, that’s not a bad Pokémon to have. Actually, in Gen 1 games, Spearow has better moves overall than the moves the Pidgey line gets. At least in the early game. And having another flying type for a while will be useful.
And now I’ve made it to the Pokémon Center just outside Mt. Moon. Here I have a conundrum. You see, inside the Pokémon Center is a man who offers to sell you a Magikarp. I did state that Pokémon offered as gifts are on the table but this isn’t a gift, I guess. Okay. No longer confused. Buyable Pokémon are off the table. Sorry Game Corner! (Not sorry.) But we may have to try something that requires an Abra that I may have to purchase from the Game Corner. However this would be just for fun though and not part of the challenge.
So…I took a few steps into Mt. Moon and what do I encounter? This freaking pest meme of a Pokémon:
Mt. Moon Encounter—Zubat/BlindBart
Lv. 9
Hp: 27
Attack: 15
Defense: 12
Speed: 15
Special: 13
Ah well, at least I have another battle fodder option, I guess? Hello, Geodude and Paras. Where were you two when I needed you? And hey! I found an HP Up item to use so that’s great. And hello Clefairy…you could’ve been a fantastic catch so I could trade you for a Mr. Mime later. Oy vey…
I’m close to running out of MtnDew Spark. Dang. Tonight really isn’t going my way so far. And I’ve got a lot, and I mean A LOT, of cave to cover. For the most part it’s just trying to get out without being too fatigued and run out of health before the end. I’ll see if I can do it. I’m already on healing run 3 and I’ve barely made it through floor 1.
Oh, Lily tried evolving but I denied it for now because she’ll learn Poison Sting next level instead of in like 2-3 more levels. While I’m in Mt. Moon, I’m going to look for a Moon Stone to evolve her further soon. Oop! I immediately found one. Perfect! Having her as a Nidoqueen so soon will make her a super useful member for quite a bit longer.
I guess I was closer to the end than I thought so I’ll just grab my Fossil and beat up Jessie&James. This time I’m grabbing the Dome Fossil. I know, I know praise Helix. (For those who don’t know, that is a reference to a Twitch Plays Pokémon run many years ago which had a very useful Omastar that was originally the other fossil I’m not taking this time.)
Dang it you Team Rocket goobers! You’re not supposed to Poison poor Stinky! It’s just trying its best to beat your Ekans up. Good thing I have a couple Antidotes. Also, let Lily Double Kick your Meowth’s teeth in; she’s so close to learning Poison Sting and then evolving. And knock it off with the Smog attacks! Zippy doesn’t need to be poisoned too…oh. Too late. Dang it, Jessie&James!
Now that that’s over, Lily has evolved and we need to heal up a bit before exiting. And now that we’ve exited, let’s grab the couple items out here and catch our Route 4 encounter!
Route 4 Encounter—Rattata/Goober
Lv. 12
Hp: 31
Attack: 21
Defense: 16
Speed: 23
Special: 11
Not really what I was hoping for, but rules are rules. At least I don’t have to really grind to get it up to a better level.
Before I turn in for the night, I’m going to take out the two Gym Trainers in preparation for beating Misty tomorrow and then receiving the Bulbasaur in Cerulean. Plenty to do tomorrow and I’ll have to start out by getting all prepped for the battles to come. Love ya’! -Emily

BAD. IT'S GOING BAD.
So funny little thing about BDSP. Instead of updating the badge system to act as literally EVERY OTHER GAME IN THE SERIES works in terms of "traded pokemon up to level X will obey you" GF had decided to keep the GENUINELY INSANE system that they were originally shipped with.
Which is that you only get the "obeys" perk every TWO badges. First perk covers pokemon up to level 30 after beating gym 2. Which means at least 2-4 gyms and story events where if you traded your pokemon in at from another game and have them at a reasonable level for that gym...they're not going to listen to a single command. Because they'll be "overleveled." Despite being the same fucking level as the gym leader's pokemon.
So...I'M NOT DOING THAT ANYMORE. Time to swap everyone over and do this in SwSh or SV on a new user account.
Grabbed Brilliant Diamond with the idea of doing a monotype challenge run.
My rules:
The only pokemon you can have on your team must include the given type.
An exception to this is your starter. You can pick whichever starter you want.
You can CATCH as many pokemon as you want, but only your monotype can be used in battle.
Importing mons from another game is fine, but they can’t exceed the level of your current highest level pokemon.
And my randomly selected type is…
Huh. So we’ll see how that goes xD
#GUYS WHY#Need to wipe that BDSP save and start a modified nuzlocke or 'never used' challenge#or something

Alright I've been working really hard to get everything set up, but I present to you:
Pokémon Trainer!Ghost
I'm going to start streaming Ghost Plays Pokémon on Twitch from here on out every Mon, Wed, and Fri at 2pm EDT/EST doing modified Pokémon Nuzlocke runs of all the Pokémon games I own, which is a lot of them.
The rules are:
All Pokémon must be named
Any Pokémon that faints is dead for good
I can only catch a Pokémon if we can reasonable say that Ghost from Call of Duty would use that Pokémon.
Join me if you want, first Nuzlocke starts tomorrow (June 11th) at 2pm!
Once I figure out editing I'll put it on YouTube too, so don't worry if you miss out!

My boyfriend and I are playing Scarlet and Violet together with modified Nuzlocke rules and just started our files earlier today. The Shiny clause is active. And my boyfriend, you guys. My boyfriend. This man found a shiny skiddo and messaged me about it in a flash. I saw this Discord notification and had a heart attack seeing his Fuecoco in the corner of the screen:
We were both sweating bullets as he tried to catch it. Heart palpitations all around. But he succeeded and now Caesar the Skiddo is a part of his team. I love this goat as if it was my own child. If he dies during this Nuzlocke I'm going to riot.
(also I'm making this post as a reminder to draw fanart of his baby later btw byyyyyyyye)

retro game randomizers annoy the fuck out of me because like, almost none of them modify the maps, which is what i really want. i know that thats like way more difficult and above the pay grade of a lot of randomizers, but youd totally expect it from the pokemon community or something.
like the first person to make a pokemon randomizer that adds the complete pokedex, and like, some really good highly customizable wave function collapse type route generation, like theyre fucking kings man. they get sloppy toppy for free at cons.
i totally expect it to happen at some point, i just want it to be now. like the most annoying part of like doing a nuzlocke, or playing a ranzomizer or whatever is that you have to play through hoenn or kanto AGAIN. like theyre cool dont get me wrong, but i want a totally unique region, the exploration is what gets me about pokemon.

Pokemon Drawings I have made!
Hello People of the Internet!
So, I have been streaming on twitch (check me out at twitch.tv/kittymeowl225) and have been attempting a modified version of an ArtLocke.
It's basically a Nuzlocke, but if your not familiar with that, here's the rules:
You can only catch the first pokemon you encounter on every route (not including before you get your first pokeballs) (Dupsclause in account to not get duplicates)
You have to give your pokemon a nickname to get attached
When a pokemon feints, it dies and you can't use them again
Some people add additional rules to their nuzlockes, but I'm not doing that. Now for the 'Art' part of an Artlocke, at least my modified version (Original Artlocke Idea belongs to MoxieD2 on both Twitch and Youtube):
You have to draw every pokemon you catch, including having to redraw it if the pokemon evolves/change
When a pokemon dies, you have to draw how it dies
I'm currently on my 3rd attempt, the first three aren't that good and I didn't follow the art rules that well but I was new to the whole streaming thing and I still am... All of them are randomized, I do try to limit my usage of legendary pokemon because that seems unfair and kinda ruins the fun of it, plus their designs are more complicated than normal pokemon and I'm new to drawing pokemon.
My previous two attempts were Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, I chose those because I haven't played it before and I'm unfamiliar with it. Both of them I have lost. Pokemon X I had to do multiple tries because I kept on loosing before even getting to play much. My current Artlocke is on Pokemon Ultra Moon. Pokemon Sun was the first official pokemon video game I have ever gotten (the first pokemon video game was a game boy pokemon TCG game), and its kinda nostalgic to play it again but I also realized that I don't know what the Ultra version of the games were like.
Here are the names of the pokemon I drew:
Sugar the Togapi/Togetic
Sandy the Sandile
Gojira the Larvitar
Medusa the Deino
Buns the Diggersby
Luna the Musharna
Shroomie the Foongus
Fanny the Rotom Fan
Torto the Carracosta
Sheldon the Cloyster
NoiDeHoi the Noibat
There would be more but I have lost some of my drawings, including even some of my recent ones. I'll upload the pictures of my Pokemon Ultra Moon ArtLocke when I finish it.
If you want to watch my ArtLocke Streams, then check out my Twitch. I might upload them on YouTube at some point, but I'm not too sure yet.

I’m late to the party but can I ask what the lore is for the uranium nuzlocke au,, uranium invaded my brain and I need content or I will explode/j
Of course! I have a handful of junk for it, and some stuff is not set in stone. I hope you're reading for a WALL of rambles.
Essentially, it starts with the change that Pluto's 'starter' isn't one of the usual three. Pluto decided to befriend an, at the time, unknown machine-like Pokémon who was nicknamed Digit. In time, it'd become known that Digi was a prototype Urayne.
Digit's deal, as of right now, is they were created as a testing ground for how Urayne would eventually work. Digit has become incredibly wary of humans, not fond of how they treat them. They broke out of the lab, vanishing for years. In time, they were found by the Professor, and with some convincing, went back to the lab with them. they became a sort of... Assistant.
Now, that aside, consider almost everything playing out normally... Up until the Championship.
Pluto and their team were overwhelmed by Gamma Urayne, and as a result, lost. Tandor was sent into a Nuclear Winter, and the remaining residents formed camps and groups that began to live either underground, or in well protected cities (Like Bealbeach).
CURIE has earned herself the title of Apocalypse, due to her overall success, and is a CONSTANT threat to the survivors. Apocalypse has upgraded her radiation suit to be a bit more durable, and beneath is a bodysuit that's modified with tech that utilizes that of the stasis tanks. Her body is being kept in a constant state of stasis as a result, where she has no need to eat, rest, and won't age. In short, so long as the tech is functional, she will not die. It, however, does not protect from outward damages.
Pluto, post-Championship, resides between one of the underground camps, and Zeta itself alongside Apocalypse. After learning more about her- specifically, who she is, as well as slowly coming to agree with her views on humanity itself, Pluto's sort of sided with her. Pluto's role had shift from preforming expeditions for resources and information for the survivor party, to gathering intel that Apocalypse and Urayne can use to further their destruction and elimination of people in Tandor.
Normally, Pluto wouldn't have sided with her at all, but they agree with the thoughts that humans are very greedy, and tend to not care for some unless it benefits them directly. Which, unfortunately, is true in both of their cases. Their original relationship is a sort of "you do this for me, I do this for you" Sort of deal, where Pluto do what she requests, and in turn, Pluto is kept safe from the wild Nuclear Pokémon, and gets to reside in Zeta where it's a bit safer.
Pluto is seen by the remainder of the survivors as THE person to deal with Apocalypse, and they all held this 13 y/o in high regard. Pluto's a child- they don't NEED all these responsibilities and praise on their shoulders. They never asked to be called a 'hero' or 'savior'. They're just... Tired. They already have enough trauma and self doubt to deal with.
Over time, Apocalypse and Pluto shift more toward a sort of... family relationship. Apocalypse cares for them like they're her own child- but these feelings partially come from the buried memories from what used to be Lucille. It's a feeling of "I don't know WHY, exactly, but you mean something to me." Kellyn plays a minor role in it all too- acting more as a neutral party, especially after learning who Apocalypse was. He's determined to try and convince her to cease her destruction, and get her to understand that things aren't... What she thinks they are. Granted, she is very far gone, with little room to change her mind. But it is possible. He also just missed his wife, lets be honest.
What happens past that point though can go into a couple directions, depending on the circumstances;
Pluto could remain with the survivors, and in time, Apocalypse is put down.
Pluto remains with Apocalypse, but Apocalypse's own overconfidence becomes her undoing. The result of this is she either dies, or is heavily wounded and has to be put into stasis just to keep her alive until a way to fix her can be found.
The latter results in Pluto snapping and taking over her place, finishing what she started. In time, Tandor would eventually be cleansed by the Hazma, and it'd be converted into a land for the Nuclear Pokémon, and some regular Pokémon, to roam without a fear in the world.
There's also a 'Good end', where the Championship fight ends differently. Pluto doesn't necessarily WIN, but they manage to convince CURIE just how wrong she is, manages to break through that wall of hers. Her own rage before Pluto breaks through overtakes Gamma Urayne, and throws them into an absolute FRENZY. They cause damages left and right while Digit tries to stop them. CURIE realizes her hate has hurt the one she's promised to take care of and protect. It breaks her. After casting the Interface aside, she does all she can to get Urayne to stop and calm down, almost getting herself killed in the process.
Afterward, she willingly answers for her crimes and aids in restoring Tandor.
Thank u for coming to my Ted Talk

how exactly would/will the death of rune or malachi work? from a gameplay perspective, not from a comic perspective; i can figure how it would/will work there. but how would you continue playing if the ''player character'' or partner pokemon ''dies'' for the purposes of the nuzlocke?
// if you asked me this a few weeks ago I'd say that it would be a cocktail of action replay cheat codes to modify the species, abilities, and moveset of the hero/partner to that of someone else on the team. so basically a more extended version of what I already was doing to change rune's type and moves to reflect that of a proper alolan vulpix! which was.... very time consuming. I talk more about that particular struggle here, which includes having to battle in-game flags to correct pokemon types/abilities.
but now OBT's file has been transferred to a ROM! which means I can edit it directly with Skytemple to change the base game, and Sky Editor to edit the save pretty quickly and painlessly. so now it's as simple as copying over the stats from a different teammate into the partner slot! though if rune dies, it'll be game over. not to worry, I'd still make sure the comic reaches a natural conclusion if that happens!

Days 7&8 of My Pokémon Yellow Nuzlocke Challenge
Day 7
Still busy with chores around the house so I’ll just focus on battling the rest of the S.S. Anne trainers, beating up my rival again, and then getting the HM for Cut which we will need to move forward with the game. For those unaware of the differences (hello non-Poké nerds and newbies!) between TM’s and HM’s, while both can teach a Pokémon moves they cannot learn naturally leveling up, HM’s contain moves needed to navigate the environment. These are moves like Cut that can remove pesky little trees or Surf that lets you ride Pokémon over bodies of water.
As I’m going through the ship’s trainers, I get Crispy to evolve into Charmeleon and Lily to learn Body-Slam—two very big steps to continuing victory. But first I have to heal at the Pokémon Center to be properly prepared for the last few trainers and the rival battle. As I am still busy with house work and getting some furniture prepped for a new coat of paint, I have to end today here.
Day 8
More chores today but I’ll fit in some of the important stuff pretty easily. My rival is up next gatekeeping the captain’s quarters and the HM for Cut. He’s become pretty predictable with his Pokémon so far and leads again with his Spearow. Zippy wipes it out with a single Thundershock. Next come a new addition to his team: Sandshrew. I send out Belle as a Ground-type like Sandshrew can get manhandled by a Grass-type like Bellsprout, yet there’s still a danger because this little pangolin wannabe has the Slash attack paired with a pretty high speed stat leads to a high chance of critical hits!
Thankfully, he doesn’t land a critical hit on the one move Belle allows him to make before smacking him down with a pair of Vine Whip attacks. The rival’s Rattata comes next and goes down even faster with a Double Kick from Lily. I take time to quickly switch-in PlowBoy for some EXP and bring Lily back to finish off Eevee.
Now I’ve got to help out the sea-sick cruise ship captain (maybe pick up shore-side fishing, dude) and get the HM for Cut. And after teaching it to PlowBoy, we can now access the Vermillion Gym. I’m going to try to get PlowBoy leveled up a bit so he can learn an actual ground move in Dig so we can Dig these Electric-types some graves.
Ouch, ouch, ouch! These jerks are spamming Sonicboom like it’s an Air Force Thunderbirds performance! Now just so we’re on the same page for how dangerous this is for the run, Sonicboom is not a game made by people trying to revive a half-dead hedgehog franchise; this is a move that deals 20 damage if it hits. No more, no less. Always 20 damage. My Pokémon have an Hp range of 37-68. One too many of those attacks and I’m out all my strongest Pokémon for this run!
Still, I’m doing pretty well and leveling up fine…and now PlowBoy has Dig. Just in time for Lt. Surge and his nasty Raichu. I’m still gonna bump up my level a bit with a couple Rare Candies and let’s do this thing!
…oh. Um. Well. This is awkward. I was thinking that Surge’s Raichu was about level 25. But it’s not that. Not that at all. Lt. Surge’s Raichu is level 28. PlowBoy is level 22. He might have high speed but so does the Raichu. Let’s hope we can survive this! AAAAAAAAAAHHHH—oh. Um, that’s embarrassing. He tried using Thunderbolt once before I started using Dig and then again before my Dig attack landed (which obviously missed anyway as PlowBoy was UNDERGROUND at the time). He has Mega Punch and Mega Kick in his move set and he uses the one move that doesn’t affect Ground-types at all. PlowBoy hits him with a non-critical One-Hit Knockout! Boom! And PlowBoy soars into level 23! Woohoo! I can finish today on that note and be very happy.

At the start of each Pokemon game, the player gets to choose between three starter Pokemon. Usually these are designed to ease them into the game, in this case however the game is modified to randomize them.
The Choices available are Clamperl, a moderately weak Pokemon, Unknown, a quite useless Pokemon and Registeel, a pseudo Legendary, which is quite powerful. However on the first battle it becomes apparent it only knows a single attack: explosion - a suicide move.
In the regular game a Pokemon faints if it reaches 0 HP and can be revived at a PokeCenter. If all of the players pokemon are fainted, they themselves black out and end up at the last PokeCenter they visited. Here however, a custom rule is used: nuzlocke. This means if a Pokemon reaches 0 HP, it's considered dead. Additionally, limits are imposed on how many Pokemon the Player can catch to prevent spam. A strong Pokemon like Registeel would be a great find for this, if it knew anything else than a suicide attack.
Essentially the game starts of with winning the lottery, only to end immediately at the first battle.
let’s play a randomized nuzlocke.
no.
no no. no no no no.
YES.

The Complete Cubelocke Ruleset
All other Nuzlocke rules not mentioned to have been modified to better fit Pokémon Quest apply
If a Pokémon faints, it has until either the entire team wipes or I beat the level before it's considered dead. This is because in Pokémon Quest, you're only given a team of three as opposed to the usual six, so losing a member of the team permanently mid level would effectively force me to restart the entire level, thus wasting MoBee's battery life. If this seems too easy, just remember that Pokémon who recover from fainting end up with less than half of their full health, leaving them weaker and at a much higher disadvantage.
I am allowed to make a single stew at the start of each area (the bundles of levels that are like worlds in Mario), and I can only use the auto-set feature to ensure I can't just enter in the recipes needed to summon potentially overpowered Pokémon.
Because there doesn't seem to be an easy way to release Pokémon in Pokémon Quest, any dead Pokémon will be used in either level up training or move learning training to give any new Pokémon up to par with the rest of the team. This, in my mind, seems to be fair game because a) I have never done a nuzlocke before and b) I kind of suck at this game. Think of it as EXP grinding in a regular Pokémon game, but with the corpses of my dead allies. That... That actually sounds darker than I thought it would, now that I say it out loud.
If a Pokémon shows up at my camp randomly while no other Pokémon are visiting because of the stew, I am allowed to befriend it. However, if a random visitor Pokémon shows up at the same time as a stew Pokémon, I can only have one or the other.
If I lose the challenge during the first attempt, I get to choose the starter as opposed to being stuck with the one voted on by the people
Instead of just nicknaming Pokémon, something I already do, nuzlocke or not, I have to draw them in all their cubic glory.
The rules will prolly be updated later, but for now I'm pretty happy with this simple little ruleset. Now if you excuse me, I got a plane to catch.

paldea sucks because of minor things but generally I actually enjoyed running around on the legendary and the story is neat, even if you think the dex is forgettable. meanwhile galar has the cool mons but i hate walking around in there and i HATE the 'you can't catch a mon stronger than this level!' thing that scarlet and violet just makes a negative catch modifier but it still being possible
... i like the circular region, and i like the gimmick a bit better than dynamax.
just a shame nuzlocking is hard to figure out encounter rules for...
#SOMEONE INSULTED PENNY'S DESIGN LIKE HUH. I LOVE HER#and her silly little hoodie and backpack#and her hair. it's so silly. and teenager-like#ANYWAY paldea isn't the best of course but like...........
