how has each of your crushes positively affected you and how have you positively affected them

Acinonyx: He appeared and just… showed me how much he could love me, right off the bat, no questions asked. He had no reason NOT to love me and it's… really helping my self-esteem, ngl. As for me, uhhh… I guess just loving him back? Or maybe it was me helping him figure out he Existed? Cause at first it was thought he was a kintype for Cyanocitta actually! But he's his own person ^w^

Bovine: He introduced me to SO many fandoms and just things we're into, and he's shown me how I should be treated, while being beside me through so much. For me, I think I just positively affect him in little ways? Like I make most of his meals, I drive us to go shopping, stuff like that!

Canine: They were my first real love, and we're still going nearly 13 years later. Need I say more? We grew TOGETHER. Because trust me, all you minors who are looking here, you DO in fact change after high school. I'm a much different person than I was at 16, when we started dating. He accepted me before anyone else did, my own mother couldn't accept who I was, but he never had a bad reaction. I found out I was autistic, found out I was poly, he knew I was bi/pan before we started dating lmao, all this! He just accepted me without question.. I love him so much On the flip side, I think I've done the same for him? When they said they felt more nonbinary, I accepted it! When they fell in love with their friend, I did my damnest to make it work out for us. Now he's dating me and her ^w^

Chrysocyon: Blae was the first one from the Helianthus system to reach out to me! We started talking like, by accident LMAO I was playing on the server I mod for Helianthus, and they hopped on on their account and was like "uh oh. I'm in front!" and we never looked back. On my side, I… don't know? I think I might be the first they were talking to outside of the system, or outside of blades other partners? (I'm not sure who if anyone else blae's dating LMAO)

Corvidae: Oh my god what HASNT she done for me??? So tiny trauma dump, I had a huge falling out when I broke up with my abusive ex, and two of my closest friends at the time blocked me and I haven't heard from them in two years now. WELL a few months after that happened, I met Corvidae and Cricetidae! …. And another person who also became a very close friend! Well, when that other friend had a huge breakdown and tried to break up the friend group, I lost Cricetidae (she was HEAVILY MANIPULATED by this ex friend), and Corvidae just.. stayed by my side. And god I love her so dearly for that. I was in a very bad place reliving what my ex did to me, and she was just… There. I think on my side, the most I did was like… Bring her to my chat? We were mutuals on tumblr and would send asks back and forth, and finally when I broke the silence and DMed her, I invited her to my chat. If she hadn't joined, who knows what would have happened??? But she did! And she's become such an important member alongside Cricetidae and I (they're both my mods who I bully nonstop <3) and it means the world to me to have her by my side!

Cricetidae: Okay god SHE INTRODUCED ME TO DREAMCATCHER and no I don't think I'll ever match her passion for those ladies (nor do I want to, it's cute seeing her all excited over her favorite groups hehe,,), I still listen to the songs and get all blushy and happy-kicky and excited, and I try to tell her when I'm thinking of her while listening to them because I can't NOT think of her (Also happens with a Very Specific Song, which I will only tell her if she asks <3) For me affecting her positively, I'm.. not exactly sure I'm in good standing to answer that? Like she means a LOT to me and I'm so happy to have her but lately I've done more hurting than helping. I wanna change that!!!

Cyanocitta: So Chrysocyon was like "Oh no. HES trying to front and idk how he's gonna feel about you." about Cyanocitta the first time we met! And it went wonderfully, he was saying he's my boyfriend and he loves me (this was BEFORE I WAS DATING HELIANTHUS BTW) and ^///^ aaa it was just… nice to be wanted….. My positive thing is… I kind of feed into his yandere thoughts and feelings! For the record, we're not REALLY yanderes, we're not trying to kill people and we're not actually possessive or anything about our partners, but <3 we talk about it like we ARE and we EXPLORE those feelings and talk about them!!!! and it's just nice to have a nice little outlet, and I give that to him!!

Helianthus: He's given me so much.. Like just KNOWING him and when we were first talking about dating, he introduced me to his polycule and I've made such GOOD friends there ^////^ they mean a lot to me! (Lookin' at you, panda) It was the ONLY reason I ever met these people too!!! I think the most I do for him though is like, okay I'm a moderator for a server he runs, and he calls me "my moderator" >///< and it makes me so happy to be helpful and active and all that!!! I play on the server a LOT and I handle issues here and there and I do a lot for him there!!

Tigris: He stood up for me when I needed it most. I had someone making VERY HORRIBLE accusations against me, and he defended me tooth and nail and that's how we became friends!!! In his words, I was a ray of light in his dark life! I kept giving him a reason to keep going, and he could go missing and come back and know I've been thinking of him and worrying about him, I love him so much and I miss him </3 I haven't heard from him in a while..

Ursa: She was there for me during my breakup with my ex. She defended me and talked to me through it, and I did the same for her when her ex broke up with her and was having a bunch of fucking issues. They've been there through SO MUCH we've been friends for such a long time. SHE EVEN MADE A WHOLE BLOG JUST FOR LOVING ME <3 ITS SO SWEET she made it when I was getting a bunch of hate asks after my ex dumped me (one guess who was sending them lmao)

Half awake (more like…3/4 asleep) canine rambles about stuff that may not be canon (kinda? Sort of is??) to the character, but is fun for me to think about, and I kinda lose the point of what I was saying? so take everything with a large pile of salt:

Something that’s been bouncing in my thoughts for a little while has been that unofficial ‘Lil Cal Au’ Trench drew a while back. And Sphinx.

I think it’s fun to explore how Sphinx deals with the grief of her lusus as well as the hard to articulate feeling of realizing ottermom was never as good as she thought. I like how in this ‘au’ she’s kinda roped up in just the right moment to cause a lot of unnecessary damage. A bit after the session’s start, after the initial shock had worn off, after the first planning, and kind of right in that grey area of Somati and Ferics being missing while the others are still a bit busy with their own planet stuff, is when Sphinx kinda falls into her worst, I think.

She’s finally at a period where she doesn’t have to continuously push herself farther and farther to keep up appearances, so she kinda. Falters. She is grieving the loss of ottermom but there’s a slowly dawning and growing feeling, like a pit in her stomach, the realization of her having thrown sweeps of her life by trying to please someone who would never be satisfied, and not knowing where to go next. And, at least in the ‘Lil Cal au’, I imagine this is where that uncertainty really comes in. In canon, Lavendersprite is likely the one there to try and pick her back up, but in the Au? Something else gets a chance to pick at her.

I think this kinda intertwines well a bit with how much of Beforus’ culture (may be the wrong word..?) Sphinx has internalized. She’s pretty entrenched in the system as she can be without directly being cullee or culler. Her work explicitly includes caring for those that do not have a place for their own, often due to this culling system, the Lusii sanctuary. She learns to care and provide for these creatures, and has likely interacted with her fair share of cullers and cullees with stuff like pick-ups or drop-offs of Lusii. And, with that, it’s something that her ottermom finds acceptable, it’s something seen as befitting of someone of her caste. And she’s up there! And gosh does she try to live up to what she ‘should’ be! She tries her best to be helpful, to be reliable, etc. She plays a role of pseudo-culler to these beasts and I don’t think she explicitly realizes that until later.

This also plays a bit into her relationship with Respit. There’s no doubt that they love eachother more than nearly anything else in their lives. But, expectedly, there’s implications of a purple and a burgundy being together that I think sometimes puts a different light on their moirallegiance. I think Sphinx feels the need to protect him, a fair share of the time, and at times, to stand up for him when he doesn’t for himself. Neither are very adamant on attracting attention they don’t need, and Respit especially would prefer to fly under the radar. His first instinct to danger is typically to flee, and I think Sphinx knows this. Kinda similar to the Carillon, she wants to hold onto what is truly hers for as long as possible, she doesn’t want to lose Respit. I feel this can sometimes get tangled up through Beforus’ expression of hierarchy and Sphinx can come across as a bit overprotective of Respit when she thinks they’re in trouble. It’s ultimately this convoluted mess of care (among some other things) that leads her to being the one to take charge and kill Respit first for godtier. I think a big part of her, the one that loves and worries for her moirail more than anything, is concerned that anyone else would hurt him.

Something something a tiny bit back on track! A directionless Sphinx with a need for fulfillment, for purpose, for an empty sense of revenge she can’t fulfill, can very easily be swayed and her biases and intentions warped and used to hurt people pretty easily! Something something about ‘doing this for your sake’ ideas, especially with the more aggressive death of Respit

body headcannons for your squimblies?

heres one to start the engine: Lykoii has super calloused hands

Honestly? Nearly all of them have super calloused hands, all of them do a lot with theirs.

I think Lykoii, Sphinx, Respit, The Carillon, and The Botanist might have it most, they’re folks who have had to work a lot with their hands or use them to keep themself safe a fair bit.

Heres kind of a list of things for each of them.

Under the cut cause! There is a lot to say! Though there is 100% certainty I forgot to put at least something.

Sphinx - For a long time, even after godtiering, shes lanky, shes a lanky little catfish to me :]. She has that sort of young cat lankiness where they get tall and long before they fill out. She has calloused hands from sweeps of working with Lusii and small surface level scars across her arms, which are usually hidden due to long sleeves. She has a small amount of nerve damage and some rough scaring along her lower back and such. She likes to lean against things a lot and her scarf with the weighted bell ends helps with counterbalance. Her pseudo fin ears can move a bit up and down, usually lending themselves to greater expression. She has somewhat short but sharp nails and relatively pointy teeth.

Respit - He also has calloused hands from working with plants and lusii. He’s fairly stout and has fluffy hair with horns that curl around the back of his head, similar to a ram’s but more flush to the skull. He has a long, undocked, sheep tail.

Styrss - Similarly calloused hands to Respit, though part of that is from living outside of society, and a lot of climbing trees. She’s a bit chunkier and taller than Respit due to spending more time with Sheepmom, who will absolutely badger if she doesn’t think her charges are eating enough, as well as a life of relatively less stress. She has minor burn scars along her lower legs from her hive collapsing after a nearby drone attack.

Lykoii - Lanky like Sphinx! He’s a bit thinner and shorter than her, at least on Alternia, both due to a life of strife and having a tail that can help store nutrients. He has broken horns which slowly grow up and into a sort of half spiral after godtiering. His and Sphinx’s horns never match in length at the same time. He has a myriad of scars across his body, most of which disappear upon godtiering. His tail is similar to that of a catfish! He has “pseudo-gills” that don’t work very well, only able to breathe fresh water for short periods of time. Both his hands and feet are quite calloused.

The Carillon - She’s taller than Sphinx and her horns curl into fuller spirals as time goes on. She’s more filled out, both due to age and consistent connection with the clurch. She has calloused hands typically covered by gloves, usually of the welding variety. She has various burn scars along her hands and arms, most small. She shares Sphinx’s back scarring, and she has counterbalance through the form of large, dense, tubular bells attached to her clerical capelet. Her hair is usually pulled back, away from her face. She has hearing loss that gets progressively worse over time.

The Botanist - Calloused hands, like everyone so far! He has scarring across his throat that has rendered him hoarse and quiet. He’s taller than Respit and has perpetual eyebags. Once he dies and becomes a ghost, he has blood covering the front of his clothes and large gashes present across his neck and abdomen, which he tries his best to cover with his ghostly garments. His form tends to wisp and trail as he moves. As Resprite, he is a lot less bloody, though he’s still somewhat hoarse. Lacks his sheep tail as a sprite.

The Compiler - … Does being a machine count- Before everything went down, she was somewhat similar to Styrss, though no burn scars. She had longer hair and horns due to age and differing conditions. Then, comes the machine. Similar to a supercomputer, it is a room wide server dedicated to ‘keeping her alive’. It has a table and a set of chairs, but is otherwise empty. The room is always warm.

The Confines - His fins are more pronounced than both Lykoii and Sphinx’s (Development leaned more towards seadweller genes, cause he actually used them often). He has gills that allow him to breathe sufficiently enough in freshwater. His horns go back straight and then down, they have been sharpened to a point at the ends. They are often adorned with weighty rings. Has a catfish-like tail as well, with a few nicks in what is somewhat analogous to an adipose fin along the back ridge of the tail.

Extra bonus scrimblos

Lavendersprite - Lavender :> A ton of lavender :> I just wanted to include it

Sheepmomsprite - Sheepmom, but a sprite! A larger than usual sheep that is roughly a bit of a Scottish Highland, Valais Blacknose, and Welsh Mountain sheep. Very, very fluffy! Has an undocked tail.

B!Andras Biyten - Has large ear fins similar to a beta fish! It has slight fin rot due to neglect on Beforus. It has choppy hair and a thin, sleek build. It typically wears baggy clothes, but it is a bit malnourished. It’s quite a small violetblood. It has horns that curve back, then up, and then forwards, a bit similar to a bohor reedbuck, but plenty more extreme. It has a long and flared tail fin, also similar to a betta fish, specifically the most common half-moon variety.

A!Pillow Stufin - Pillow :>. She’s the hypothetical product of The Carillon and The Botanist, and she’s honestly just made to be a silly little critter! Her horns look like little airpods. She has large pseudo ear fins and a large catfish-like tail. She has a long scar along her left calf from being caught on debris. Shes a short and compact near-fuchsia blood. She’s just funny to me :>

whats lykoii and stryss' relationship like

In simplest terms, they’re best friends!

In more complex stuff: both Stryss and Lykoii are very isolated, both physically and somewhat mentally.

Stryss is left in the middle of the woods with only Sheepmom and a ghost for company after things go down with her, Lykoii is left on his own after him leaving his Lusus and the Clurch in one fell swoop.

They depend a bit on one another, both out of necessity, such as for certain items, and a bit for their small amounts of socialization. I think Stryss could probably do fine without Lykoii, but Lykoii would not have done fine without Styrss. He would’ve just gone back if they hadn’t met, for a plethora of reasons.

She’s the reason he has grumblr in the first place, and why he’s willing to branch out again. He’s why she’s willing to branch out too, to be honest. She’s pretty content with things as they are, but was willing to give talking to more people a try to show him it’s not the end of the world.

They fare a lot better than Sphinx and Respit did when they get to their planets, both used to not seeing eachother for fair periods of time. Though I do like to think they call and say how it’s going on their respective planets. Lykoii finally ends up at Styrss’ and is, justifiably, horrified after hearing how nice it’s been over there. (She is genuinely having a pretty grand time.)

They’re just great friends that enjoy each other’s company a lot!
