I do not take any credit for the translations and the meanings belong to the original translators I am putting it here for reference. I put their name meanings here in case someone is struggling to name there k project oc this is used as a reference to help.
The Silver Clan: White Rice Party
Yashiro Isana (伊佐那 社)
Isana (伊佐那), i (伊, that one), sa (佐, assistant, help) and na (那, what?). Yashiro (社, shrine)
Yashiros are temporary shrines set up for deities, this is a reference to how the body known as ‘Isana Yashiro’ (who is, in fact, Hieda Touru) is just a vessel for the silver king Adolf K. Weismann and not his true body much like how yashiro's body is temporarily used for a vessel for his soul.
His surname Isana (伊佐那) is derived from Izanagi (伊耶那岐命, Izanagi-no-Mikoto) and Izanami (伊耶那美命, Izanami-no-Mikoto) this is a reference to the twin heavenly deities in Shinto mythology who gave birth to the islands and made Japan and other Shinto deities of Japanese and represent life and death. This references his real identity as the first Silver King and the founder king being responsible for the birth of other kings
life and death play a part in Adolf and Claudia, which infers How Adolf became the silver king cursed with immortality after Claudia's death forced him to live while his sister was dead.
Besides being named after Izanagi Shiro’s last name has further significance in the story, Isana can be a play on his airy nature but refers to his amnesia in the story and his kind personality before regaining his memories.
Adolf K. Weismann
His real name “Adolf” comes from the Germanic name Adalwolf which means “noble wolf” and "wise wolf”, indicating both his nobilty in German myth wolfs are connected to kings and rulers which references his status as a king. This might infer the term "lone wolf” reference to his loneliness Of being selected as the king cursed to live as his sisters exiled himself from the world out of fear because he doesn’t want to involve himself with anyone that he eventually has to watch die yeah he doesn’t-have it off easily.
His initial K is a reference to the title of the series
Weissmann is a German surname meaning “white man” referencing to Shiro being the silver king.
His nickname “Shiro” can be written as “white" in Japanese. The term used for “Silver King” in Japanese, (白銀の王, Hakugin no Ō) has the character for "white” (haku,白) while “gin” means (銀, silver) in Weismman “Weis” means “white” in “German”, This references that Shiro is the first king the silver king.
Claudia Weismann
The name Claudia means "lame” or “crippled” but could probably be named after Saint Claudia, the Martyr of Rome who was mentioned in the New Testament, this can reference the impression that Claudia gives off that of the image of “the lost saint” and to how she She died saving Adolf life from falling debris from the bombing raid.
Claudia references Izanami as one of the creator gods in mythology She Along with her brother was in charge of the research of the slate that created the kings Izanami’s death references Claudia’s own death.
Neko “Miyabi Ameno” (雨乃雅日)
Ameno (雨乃), Ame (雨, rain), no (乃, from). Miya (雅, gracious. elegant, refined) and bi (日, day, sun).
Neko’s first name Miyabi(雅日) came from Wakahirume no mikoto (稚日女尊, Wakahirume-no- Mikoto.) the kanji “稚日女尊” is miswritten as "雅日女尊” since 稚& look alike. Wakahirume is a weaving deity who served Amaterasu, says Susano threw a horse skinned alive into the room she weaving startled she fell off the loom and pricked herself by the shuttle of the loom this frightened Amatarsu she hid in the cave. this could reference to how Neko used her powers to change his memories hence hiding him from the other clansmen while preventing him from coming out of his metaphorical cave and how she hangs around Shiro.
the kanji can refer to how she is considered good-looking by the cast with sensual curves and her her bright sunny disposition.
Neko’s surname Ameno derives from Ameno Uzume (天宇受, Ameno Uzume) with the kanji changed. Ameno Uzume is the goddess of mirth who danced naked to draw Amaterasu out of hiding in her cave this is a node to how Neko is seen naked in the series and her role in drawing Shiro to come out of the metaphorical cave that he puts himself in. in the Kojiki it described her as “made the deities laugh” I think this can reference to how she brings Shiro happiness.
surname means “of rain” This is a reference to Neko’s love of baths even though she is a cat and rain is used to describe the sadness in her lonely life before she met Shiro
Neko’s name makes the beginning and end of Amatarasus's hiding along with the disaster due to the sun refusing to come out.
Kuroh Yatogami (夜刀神 狗朗)
Yatogami (夜刀神), Ya (夜, night) to (刀, sword, knife, blade) gami (神, god). Kuroh (狗朗), Ku (狗, dog) roh (朗, melodious, clear, bright, serene, cheerful). Kuroh’s surname Yatogami comes from Yato no gami (Yato no gami,
夜刀の神 ) are snake deities in Japanese folklore that are a symbol of enjoying peace and prosperity under a benevolent ruler but also have the power to kill a person and an entire family if someone sets their eyes on them. they are expelled from this original dwelling land the man who expelled them defied them and worshiped them at a place called Yashiro.
this references Kuroh's backstory, the deities rumored to bring familial extermination to anyone who saw them notes to how Kuroh is seen as an angel of death by his family and shunned by his own family after the deaths of his family, then his aunt and uncle. Like Yatogami he had to leave the place he grew up with and later ended up with Yashiro Isana like the Yashiro of the tale
the last kanji in his name refers to Kuroh's personality being honest, calm, and bright, the first kanji in his name means "dog”, and the pronunciation of “kuro” alone means “black in Japanese this contributes to his nickname “black dog”.
Kukuri commented that their names Kuro and Shiro are like Othella this plays into K focusing on contrastionals with the two main characters referring to it.
HOMRA
Suoh Mikoto (周防 尊)
Suoh (周防), Su (周, circumference, circuit) oh (防, protect, resist). Mikoto (尊, noble, exalted)
Mikoto (尊, Mikoto) is taken from the full name of the deity Susano-o no Mikoto (素戔嗚尊, Susano-o no Mikoto). Mikoto is named after the kami Susano, he is Amataerasu’s little brother and was originally in charge of the storms and seas he is known for his violent temper that caused problems, and was expelled from the heavenly realm. This refers to Mikoto's most prominent qualities as the red king being violent. Mikoto can reference his charisma as something he had before he became king
His last name Suoh (周防) comes from an old Japanese province of Yamaguchi Prefecture that is dedicated to a red tortoise in the Nihon Shoki and is well known for its chopper ore (a red color) in the Shoku Nihongi This is a reference to Mikoto being the red king and his hair color. the Yamaguchi Prefecture harbors the Tamanoya shrine that enshrines the creator of the Yata mirror and Yasakani magatama I find this fascinating that it references Yata and Anna from the Red clan.
his surname refers to his quiet kind nature in which he wants to protect others around him.
Izumo Kusanagi (草薙出雲)
Kusanagi (草薙) Kusa (草, grass, pasture, write) nagi (薙, mow down). Izumo (出雲) Izu (出, exit, come out, put out) mo (雲, cloud).
Kusanagi is named after the sword of Kusanagi (草薙剣, Kusanagi-no-tsurugi) one of the three imperial regalia of Japan which the sword itself represents valor. It's a sword that has a connection to Mikoto as with the legend that the sword is seen in the body of the servant that Susano slayed and presented it to Amaterasu to settle an old grievance. Kusanagi being named after a divine sword is a reference to his combat ability to how Izumo is the second strongest in Homura.
Izumo is the name of a shrine (出雲大社, Izumotaisha) that worships Susano's son, Izumo might refer to his role as an information pathway to Homra and his additional role as the one to clean up his clansmen's messes.

Totsuka (十束多) to (十, ten) tsuka (束, bundle, manage, control). Tatara (多々良) ta (多, many, frequent, much) tata (多々, very much, very many) ra (良, good, pleasing, skilled)

Also used by Izanangi to behead his son Kagutsuchi who is the kami of fire Kagutsu's death marked the beginning of death in the world. The sword was taken by the underworld when Izanagi came to visit Izanami the sword is made of metal a part of the element of earth connected with death. his name is from a kind of sword alludes to his hidden strength, and his role in Homra the peacemaker, and the beast tamer.
Tatara is derived from the tatara method of iron making, the tatara method uses iron sand dread old iron ore and smelts it in a hot fire. There is an old Japanese saying that those who work in Tatara iron making welcome the dead this is because dead bodies in Japanese lore represent the element of earth and iron metal is purified earth. The amount of dead in tatara works was said to increase during the purification process. iron is created from the dead and in the case of the sword also creates more dead people, while poisoning those who work with Tatara with death. his given name is an obvious reference to his overall personality and many hobbies
His entire name is closely connected with death with his given name dead from Tatara and metal/earth and with the beginning of death in the world and underworld from Totsuka no Tsurugi. His name shows that he is created to die in some respects and his death was meant to be a catalyst for what happened with Homra
Yata Misaki (八田美咲)
Yata (八田) ya (八, eight) ta (田, rice field), Misaki (美咲) Mi (美, beauty, beautiful) saki (咲, blossom, bloom)
Despite the different kanji the word Misaki is used seen with how Misaki (御先, Misaki) can translate to vanguard also a term used to call small-scale divine spirits who are subordinates to high-ranking deities appearing as the deity's omen or messengers. Misaki is a homage to the Hinomisaki shrine (日御碕神社, Hinomisaki Jinja) which is a shrine and lighthouse, the upper shrine is dedicated to Susano, and the lower shrine to Amaterasu notes on how Yata is the vanguard of Homra.
his given name Misaki could be a play on how he doesn’t think before he acts more often than not ending up in all sorts of messes, his given name is revealed in a short story yatas mom named her children after plant theme.
the Yata comes from Yatagarasu (八咫烏) the three-legged crow sun incarnate and a symbol of guidance. Yatagarasu is the three-legged crow that guided Emperor Jimmu on his eastern expedition and is also said to live in the sun.
Yatagarsu is the misaki of Kumano no Ookami (熊野大神, Kumano no Ookami) also known as Susano o. This is a callback to how Yata is the vanguard of Homra serving under Mikoto and later Anna.
Yata is named after the mirror of Yata (八咫鏡, Yata no Kagami) one of the three imperial regalia in Japan the mirror represents honesty and wisdom. this notes how Yata is straightforward and honest about his emotions and his growth and maturity in the series. Yata’s name is connected to Fushimi Yatagarsu and Sarutahiko is known as guides of high-ranking diety both of them have names from guidance kami and are said to pave the way for the rulers. a clever reference to their relationship and their relationships with their respective kings.

Anna Kushina (櫛名アンナ)
Kushina (櫛名) Kushi (櫛, comb) na (名, name, distinguished, reputation)

Anna’s last name, Kushina (櫛名) comes from the kami Kushinadahime (Kushinada-hime,櫛名田比売) She is the wife of the kami Susano with is associated with Suoh Mikoto. much like her kami counterpart Kushinadahime, Anna was rescued by Mikoto who is the counterpart for Susano. the snake, in fact, is Mizuchi, Mizuchi is based on the Orochi in mythology his kanji is a Japanese homophone of the water dragon. who kidnaps Kushina and he kidnaps Anna and makes her a king through his experiments. Anna’s ability and relationship to sync with Mikoto seem to represent the close relationship between Susano and Kushinadahime. Like Totsuka and Kusanagi her name is chosen because of her counterpart connection to Mikoto's counterpart as a close support of his
Kushi might be a reference to her short hair, "na" is connected to her position as Homra clairvoyant and later red king.
Honami Kushina (櫛名穂波)
Honami’s name (穂波) means “waving heads of grain”, it's mostly like she's a stand-in for Kushinada-hime’s elderly parents who asked for help from Susano. Kushinada-hime mother was a farmer and the goddess of an early harvest and gentle affection, gentle affection is associated with Honami

this description of Nagare being referred to as the god Ebisu matches with Nagare’s status as king role and character in the series.
Ebisu was abandoned by his parents in the myth which referenced Nagare losing his family during the creator accident. in the myth Ebisu is cribbled and deformed this can infer how Nagare lost his heart from the kagutsu creator and how his life was kept alive because of the slate and he is stuck to a wheelchair Nagare is restrained in a wheelchair keep his strong power in check.
ebisu related to prosperity can infer how the jungle is popular with users and with others growing in popularity over the years.
the ocean imagery is how the internet is described as an ocean or sea with the clan being related to an internet chat group and how he swims through the web and technology with his powers
Hisui means "like water”, and may refer to his speed and power (water can be powerful as well) when he uses his king aura or the domain of his clan which resides in the Internet which can be considered the ocean of the web.
Nagare could also mean that but could means “forfeit” which refers to how he lost his own life two times
Tenkei Iwafune (磐船天鶏)
Iwafune (磐舟) Iwa (磐, rock, crag, cliff) fune (舟, boat, ship) Tenkei (天鶏) ten (天, heaven, sky, imperial) kei (鶏, domestic chicken).
Otori and Tenkei both point to his loss as he points it out himself in the dream of Green and Iwafune is meant to compliment and counter Hisui Nagare.
Iwafune Tenkei (磐船天鶏) is named after Torinoiwakusufune (鳥之石楠船神) he is the kami of ships who made a boat for the kami hiruko who was abandoned. he acted as the deputy and messager. in the myth, it was said that he was the boat traveling from the land of Kami to the human world. which traveled to the central lan of reed plans from heaven with the speed of the bird and stability of a rock.
Torinoiwakusufune carrying hiruko on a boat references Iwa’s relationship with Nagare that he was the one who was taking care of his needs and the one who kept his powers in check with his fog and restricted him in a chair to prevent his powers from going out of control being metaphorically boat in a way that helps him get from one place
to another and a rock to keep him stable and is the second command of the jungle despite being a king. might provide a foreshadowing of his true identity as the grey king and his clan cathedral that acts as a sanctuary until the creator's accident.
Iwafune is also from Iwafune Shrine [磐船神社], these shrines are dedicated to a ship the shaped rock believed to be the vessel used by deities when descending the earth.
Tenkei (天鶏) is a Chinese constellation “celestial cock” (天雞) which is the rooster in heaven that crows at daybreak. leading roosters on earth to crow after it. this is a reference to his real name Otori which has a bird in the kanji further hinting at his true identity as the grey king.
Seigo Otori (鳳聖悟)
Seigo (聖悟) sei (聖, holy, sage, priest) go (悟, enlightenment, realize, understand), Otori (鳳, large bird refers to either the peng (a Chinese mythological giant bird said to be able to transform into a fish) or the Fenghuang (the Chinese phoenix).
“Seigo” refers to his position as king to cathedral whitch seems to be a church theme clan, looking at "go" might also refer to how he eventually faced the irony of his power as a king
his entire name referenced the god Torinoiwakusufune seen in this role as his former grey clan and his role in the jungle and to Nagare.
Yukari Mishakuji (御芍神 紫)
Mishakuji (御芍神) mi (御, honorable, manipulate, govern)shaku (芍, peony) ji (神, gods, mind, soul) Yukari (紫,purple)
the color purple in his name references his image color his name comes from the ancient kami
Mishakuji (御社) is one of the Sai-no-Kami [塞の神], which means “deity of boundary”. he is the guardian deity of travelers also crosswords and boundaries he guards the boundary of the village or crosswords to prevent evil spirits, disease, or disaster from entering the village. this is a reference to how Yukari acts as a bodyguard to the green clan being their strong muscle and not letting anyone get it. Yatogami is the deity of the valley which was expelled into the mountains by Matachi and his men for cultivation then drew a boundary between the land of humans and the land of deity keeping Yatogami on the other side. both Kuroh and Yukari are written as rivels which is seen in their names.
Miwa, Mishakuji, and Yatogami were all names of serpent deities this is a reference that they were from the colorless clan
Sukuna Gojo (五條スクナ)
Gojo (五條) go (五,five) jo (條, article, clause, item, stripe, streak, logic, paragraph,)
the logic aspect in his name fits him being a video game and combat hustler, if you put "go" and "jo" together then it might mean "a winning streak” another game-related reference
Sukuna is named from Sukuna-hikona (スクナヒコナ) is the medicanal kami is the kami riding the wave in a boat from the pod of the flowering vine. He is paired with Onamuchi and the two kami worked together to form the land and invent medicine. he is the deity who aided Ookunimushi in building his nation in myths he stayed beside Ookunimushi all the time. he is the deity known as the "Small Man of the Renown” The Nihon Shoki refers to him as a brat. Looking at this it matches Sukuna to a t, the part with Sukuna being paired and helping Ookunimushi in the myth is his friendship with Nagare and how he helps him with his goals. sukuna is seen riding the waves on a boat is a reference to Iwa who is named after the boat deity. the "Small Man of the Renown” Sukuna proved to be capable in his own right in the use of jungle and how he completes his missions. sukuna being refered to as a brat in muthoology references sukunas young age and bratty personality
Gojo came from Gojo-ten Shrine [五条天神宮] shrines dedicated to Sukuna
Douhan Hirasaka (平坂 道反)
Hirasaka (平坂) Hira (平, flat) saka (坂, slope), Douhan (道反) dou (道, road) han (反, anti)Her surname Hirasaka comes from
Yomotsu Hirasaka [⻩泉比良坂], the boundary between earth and hell. Dohan (道反) is from
Chikaeshi no Ookami [道反大神], the huge rock at Yomotsu Hirasaka which Izanagi used to block the hell’s entrance after he escaped.
this references how she helped Fushimi in season 2 from getting killed by jungle users by helping him escape and how she saves the other characters from death.
Kotosaka
Kotosaka has numerous meanings but the meaning I would choose for him would be Kotosaka no kami (言離神] the alias of Hitokotonushi-no- kami [一言主神, literally the God of One Word) and Yomotsukotosakanoo (aka Kotosakanoo-no-Mikoto), a kami of the underworld it means to sever a relationship in the Nihongi he appeared alongside Hayatamanoo (速玉之男神) to sever the relationship between the original kami, Izanagi, and Izanami he was there to hold Izanangi to his oath when Izanagi spoke the words of divorce at the Yomotsu Hirasaka. these meanings fit Kotosaka himself this is in how he was present during Nagare's death and stayed by his side while he was dying and how Kotosaka is always seen talking in one word or repeating something that was said and is used as a medium for Nagare for speaking to others
The colorless clan
Ichigen Miwa (三輪 一言)
Ichigen (一言) ichi (一, one) gen (言, say, word), Miwa (三輪) Mi (三, three) wa (輪, wheel, link, loop) "wa" can refer to how he can see the future aka the wheel of fortune and may refer to the fates of his two students. if you look at "mi" and wa together it may refer to his and his students' lives; the way their lives played out may have been something that has already been foreseen. Ichigen might refer to his nature as the “man of his word or “a man of a few words” a play on his art haiku composition.
Miwa comes from Oomiwa jinja (三輪明神) miwa comes from Mount Miwa, the kami of the mountain Oomononushi, is a serpent holding power over good harvest, sake brewing and protection from infectious diseases but is also known for his ability to curse. Ichigan comes from
Hitokotonushi-no- kami [一言主神] sharing the same kanji in the deity's name grants one word wishes to the deity and introduces himself to the emperor as “I am Hitokotonushi-no-kami of Katsuragi, who proclaims evil in a single word, good in a single word.” like Oomononushi he encompasses both good and evil possibilities depending on careful choices.
this is a reference to his art of haiku which Kuroh brings with a recorder. This can reference that he can see the future and predict what is going to happen with a few words
Kokujoji Daikaku(國常路 大覚)
Kokujōji (國常路) Koku (國, country), jō (常, usual, normal, regular), ji (路, path, road, distance), Daikaku (大覚) dai (大, large, big, great) Kaku (覚, learn, remember, awake).
jo might refer to himself before he became king and his way of running things has been the normal ji for the country of Japan after he became king. “great learning” references his clan's ability or the great remembrance of his friends who guided him through the years.
his name Koukujouji (國常路) is a reference to Kunitokotachi no Kami ( 國常立神). He is the first of the three kami born after heaven and earth were born out of chaos and is considered the very representation of Japan itself and one of the founding kami. His first name Daikaku (大覚) comes from Daikaku-ji (大覚寺) a Buddhist temple in Kyoto that holds the Five Knowledge Kings they have much knowledge and power which allows them to influence reality known to use their power to get rid of evil influences. this is pretty self-explanatory this references to his bond with the Silver King who references Isanagi and the Dresidian trio being one of the first kings that shaped Japan
He is the backbone of the contry and its entire properoty was on him and he makes sure evil infleunces like nagare and mizuchi are wiped out.
Kukuri Yukizome (雪染 菊理)
Kukuri is named after Kukuri hime no kami (菊理姫神) the goddess of meditation, negotiation, matchmaking, and marriage. She mediated on behalf of Izanami and Izanagi when Izanagi talked to her during the month of the underworld and reconciled them, bringing peace to the world mediating between the living and the dead. This matches Kukuri very well
reflects her cheerful personality and friendship with Shiro she is sociable and helpful she helps mediate the chaos of the awakening superpowers and she is Shiro's link to a normal life.
Hieda Touru (稗田透)
Hieda (稗田) Hie (稗, Japanese barnyard millet) da (田, paddy, field), Touru (透, transparent permeable, porous passable, (in the sense of objects spaced far enough apart to allow something in-between)
His first name Tooru is jampacked of meaning this can reference his lack of presence and his harmless appearance and ability to blend in the background which is why he was chosen by Nagare to be the host body for the colorless king. and that he was once a vessel for the colorless king to inhibit.
Hieda may refer to Hieda no Are (稗田 阿礼) a person known for being vital to kojikis completion. little is known about Hidea no Are including gender but some theorize they may be distant descendants of the goddess Ameno-Uzume. This is a reference to his appearance in the story as early as completing the plan for the silver king to be drawn out.
Saya Konohana (木野花 沙耶)
Saya (沙耶) sa (沙, sand) ya (耶, question mark), konohana (木野花) ko (木, field, wilderness) Hana (花, flower, blossom)
Saya’s entire name comes from Konohanasakuya-hime (木花開耶姫) the kami of cherry blossoms and mt fuji she was said to be in charge of volcanos and has an explosive temper this is a reference to her uncontrollable power in the beginning in the route.
Mitsuha Kurayama (闇山 光葉)
Kurayama(闇山) Kura (闇, dark) Yama (山, mountain), Mitsu (光, light), ha (葉, leaves)
the kanji in the given name doesn't match the kami I was thinking of but if there's one thing that his surname is Kurayama (闇山) in fact If I were to guess what he is based on I would think it is Kuramitsuha (闇御津羽神 – Ravine Water Rushing). Kuramitsuha is one of the two kami born from the blood of Kagutsuchi after he was beheaded by Izanagi, the blood caught on the sword hilt formed this kami.
another kami would be Kurayamatsumi (闇山津見神 – Mountain Gorge Majesty) the kami born from the body of Kagutsuchi after he was beheaded and was born from Kagutsuchi’s privates
I find his connection to the kami Kagutsuchi is a reference to Mitsuha’s obsession with becoming Kagustsu in the series which led to a twisted fascination with Suoh.
Somei Nazumi (初衣 泥)
Uhijininokami, Suhichininokami ※God of the earth (宇比邇神 須比智邇神)
Somei Chika (初衣 チカ)
Uhijininokami, Suhichininokami ※God of the earth (宇比邇神 須比智邇神)

Gora is kind to give us the origin of the names of the characters who came from K side Gold.
when I was writing this I learned that each character in k is connected to each other in some way as seen in the origin of their names. I didn’t cover all the characters but If I did happen to miss some of the characters feel free to put your input in the post. I made this post as a reference to help others with naming their once, I don’t take any credit for the translated meanings in this master post I hope this will give a better idea of how to name your OC.

How long had passed since Suoh left? It seemed the grey clouds in the dark sky could no longer hold onto any more moisture and raindrops splashed down. The rain quietly extinquished the previously burning hell. Kurayama knelt on the scorched concrete against the black, sooty wall and watched.
Before, he used up all his energy to the point where he thought he’d never stand up again and was at the bank of the Sanzu River, but his strength was gradually returning. He could probably stand up and walk now.
He lifted his head and looked up at the sky. Suoh Mikoto’s Sword of Damocles was no longer there. The cool rain pitterpattered on his cheeks, eyes and lips.
“… what should I do from now on...” he muttered.
Suoh’s dazzling vivid flames still danced around his vision. It was the same colour as the ones the person he once yearned for had. In the end, it wasn’t a colour that Kurayama could have.
“… and up…”
Kurayama used his left hand to support himself on the wall and shakily stood up. His body was covered in injuries, but his right arm was especially bad from taking Suoh’s power full on. It was burnt black, trembling and difficult to move.
‘Maybe I won’t be able to use it anymore’, he thought indifferently.
The pain from his arm pierced through his head but he no longer felt any joy from that pain. Kurayama could no longer ‘break free’.
He slowly walked, dragging his body along. As he walked, he thought about Suoh.
He could remember him as if he was his own mirror reflection.
But he no longer thought of him as such. He only thought, ‘What a waste’. When Suoh got that power, he didn’t have a happy expression nor a proud one. If anything, he had an annoyed expression as if a troublesome burden had been thrust upon him.
‘Even though I would’ve killed him if it hadn’t been for that.’
Why was Suoh Mikoto not happy to get that kind of power, he could now guess.
‘That guy…’
As Kurayama walked in the sprinkling rain, head lowered, deep in thought, he didn’t notice the presence in front on him.
All he noticed was the sound of a BANG.
Kurayama looked up. In the middle of the road was a suited man with a pistol. White smoke rose from the end of the pistol.
Kurayama stayed standing for a few moments and he felt the warm blood pouring out from the hole in his chest. The feeling of blood flowing out from his gunshot wound was a bit similar to the feeling of letting out flames, he suddenly thought. Then he looked at the face of the man who shot him thinking ‘…Who?’ It was a fortyish year old man with a scar on his cheek. He realised it was probably a guy from some organization.
With that he finally lost his strength to stand and fell down onto the road, his face half submerged in water.
His limbs were cold, but his wounded chest felt hot as if on fire. Bright red blood mixed with the rainwater spreading around him. With his ear on the ground, he could hear the person who shot him quietly walking away.
‘… Ah, yeah, I knew,’ he murmured in his heart, as he felt the burning pain and the temperature of his blood.
He, who didn’t become King was going to die like trash in a trash like place.
This is probably an important line but idk what it says K… He knew this was how ??? ppl ended up.
‘… Hey, what about you, Suoh Mikoto?’
You managed to get what I wanted. The power to destroy anything that stands before you.
(You’re not alike.)
He remembered the words of Totsuka Tatara, the guy who hanged around Suoh Mikoto. He said Kurayama and Suoh were not alike.
‘Ahh, I think so too now,’ Kurayama thought.
His laugh was the sound of blood being coughed up.
Suoh Mikoto was not like him. Suoh was a coward. Even though he wanted to destroy everything, even though he had that impulse, he couldn’t do it. He had hesitation. He was afraid of destruction.
(You’re not “okay”.)
That’s what Totsuka said to Kurayama. And actually, he knew why. Kurayama didn’t think anything was important in this world. He didn’t have anything that he couldn’t bear to destroy.
Suoh was different.
‘… but… which path brought more happiness?’
Kurayama didn’t know. In his short life, he didn’t have anything he held dear and perhaps that in itself was a kind of happiness.
That’s why it was the happiness that he knew, that he longed for - like a curse.
‘Destroy everything, absolutely everything, and turn it all into nothing.’
‘After all, aren’t you the Red King? Same as he, Kagutsu Genji, was.”
†
“Kurayama Mitsuha has passed away.”
In front of a solitary cell at the Centre, the acting commander of the King-less Scepter 4 informed as such.
Tsurumi Touya wasn’t particularly surprised.
“I see. …Who was it?” he lightly asked, as he looked down at the ability restraining handcuffs around his wrists.
“An executive suboardinate of one of the criminal syndicate leaders that Kurayama Mitsuha murdered. After shooting Kurayama Mitsuha, he went to a police station with the pistol he used.”
“Ah… so Ikushima as expected? Chivalry isn’t common in this day and age.”
Tsurumi let out a dry laugh.
“You came all the way here to tell me this?”
“Yeah.”
“Then, thanks.”
The end was pretty unsatisfying huh, Tsurumi muttered to himself.
The acting commander didn’t leave and continued to look at Tsurumi through the cell’s small window.
“Is there something else?”
“… One more thing. The Red King has been born.”
This time Tsurumi was shocked. He couldn’t say anything at first and his lips simply trembled.
“No way… Suoh Mikoto?”
“That’s right.”
Tsurumi clenched his fist. The ability restraining handcuffs creaked a bit.
“So Mitsuha was right. In that case of course it’d be a complete defeat. … hah.”
The acting commander continued to stare at Tsurumi with dry eyes.
‘What a creepy old man…’ Tsurumi turned away.
“I heard Kurayama Mitsuha unprecedentedly unique person but I guess even he had a friend who would mourn for him.”
“That’s cause I don’t have many friends. Though I don’t think the other side would’ve thought of me as a friend.”
Tsurumi sniffed his nose without any change in expression.
The acting commander stood there silently for a while but before long, “Well then, that’s all I had to report”, and turned to leave.
“Hey, Mr Acting Commander,” Tsurumi called out to the back clothed in blue uniform, “Scepter 4 hasn’t had a King for a long time right? Do you wish for a King?”
The acting commander didn’t turn back but answered, “My King is dead”.
“I see,” Tsurumi gave a slight smile, and thought of the three years of reckless ambition that had gone by, “same as me then.”
†
One month passed since then.
For Kusanagi it was a terrible one month. Suoh had become King, he and Totsuka had become clansmen and suddenly they were thrown into the world of special abilities. Plus the town still needed time to calm down from the previous confusion and chaos that had been caused by Kurayama Mitsuha’s operations. With Kurayama Mitsuha’s death and the arrest Tsurumi Touya who like his advisor, the Strains, mafia and deliquents who gathered under him were pretty much abandoned in the midst of chaos.
The Strains acted fast. They knew very soon that Kurayama had disappeared and that the Red King had been born and quickly disappeared. The abandoned mafia who more or less knew a bit about the world of special abilities, juggled what information they had and determined that Suoh needed to be eliminated and carried out many attacks. Despite only just getting their abilities Suoh and Kusanagi still managed to drive them back.
Faced with the mafia’s weapons and shooting, Suoh and Kusanagi stood firm. The bullets were swallowed and repelled by their flames.
It was annoying, but what was moe troublesome was own flames. They couldn’t yet control their flames well somethingsomething.
After countless attacks and repels, the power of the Red King, Suoh Mikoto’s sect (even though we say sect, Totsuka was a non-combatant, so really it was only Suoh and Kusanagi) became well known by the people who had been part of the Kurayama incidents and the chaos gradually settled down.
Simply just the fact that Red King existed gave birth to a new order in Shizume-cho.
Kusanagi found out from a small article in the newspaper that Kurayama Mitsuha had been killed by a member of Tokuseikai, whose leader was killed by Kurayama, who also happened to be a regular customer of Bar HOMRA, Ikushima Atsushi. It seemed after killing him, he turned himself in at the police station.
The fight between yakuza was put to an end, and after a months worth of tidying up, Kusanagi was for the second time, at a building at Nanakamado. It was called Mihashira Tower, the domain of the Gold King, who’d built the country up after the war. The first time he came was immediately after Suoh became King. The Usagi, messengers of the Gold clan lead them to Mihashira tower and Kusanagi was also there when Suoh met with the Gold King, Kokujouji Daikaku.
Suoh was chosen by a mysterious power called the Dresden Slate and called to become a King. There were seven spots and he had become the third titular king, the Red King. A King could distribute his power among other other people to create fellow comrades called a Clansman, forming a group to lead called a Clan. They also talked about things like agreeing to a contract between Kings, Protocol 120.
During this Suoh didn’t say anything and simple stared at the Gold King sullenly. Only when the Gold King asked if he needed the Gold Clan to intervene on anything when dealing with the aftermath of his awakening, did Suoh say annoyedly open his mouth to say “No need”.
Faced with the Gold King, Kusanagi was overwhelmed by the intimidating aura he had and simply stood there uncomfortably sweating. Totsuka was also as expected meek and silent, but as soon as they excused themselves from the Gold King’s presense, it seemed he was very curious about the Usagi and kept asking them “Why do you wear rabbit masks?” He never got an answer.
“Now then, Shizume-cho’s Bar HOMRA is now officially recognised as the Red Clan’s territory,” said the Usagi, using a big seal to stamp the documents Kusanagi signed.
The reason why Kusanagi came today was to complete the procedures for a “King’s Domain”.
It seemed a King’s domain was a territory in which other clans could not interfere with. But even so after Suoh became King, and they became his clansmen, they didn’t really have a base. So there wasn’t anywhere else impressive they could call a base besides Bar HOMRA.
“Thanks. That’s all we need to do for the King’s Domain yeah?”
The Usagi nodded.
“By the way, have you decided on a clan name?”
“Ah… I forgot about that. We’ll have a talk about it.”
“Understood. There’s no problem whether or not you have a name.”
Up until now, the gang that had formed due to various circumstances used the name Homra, borrowed from the bar’s name, and they had gotten used to that, but it was still probably better to discuss it amongst the three of them first.
But as he thought that, he suddenly remembered that they had a similar discussion just a while back.
“How are things going with the Red Clan?” asked the Usagi indifferently, interrupting Kusangi’s thoughts.
Kusanagi frowned thinking of Suoh’s current situation now that he’d become a King.
“… We’re having trouble controlling our powers. But well, we’re getting the hang of it slowly.”
The incredible power of the Red King, flames of destruction symbolizing violence. It shouldn’t be something that could be originally controlled by a single person is what Kusanagi thought when he saw Suoh’s current state.
The power to completely destroy everything around them if they wanted to, was being kept within him. That power seemed to want to escape. Right now, Suoh was struggling to surpress that power.
His struggle probably wasn’t just because he couldn’t control the raw power. The chaotic power suited Suoh’s nature too well. Ever since he was a kid, he had that longing to smash through the feeling of entrapment stemming from the world. Tldr Suoh too compatible.
Even Kusanagi who was just a Red Clansman had difficulty controlling his powers. So it was scary to think about Suoh whose powers were much greater in comparison.
Fortunately Totsuka, although he did not gain much power, in return had excellent control over his powers. Not only could he control his own flames, he could resonate with Suoh’s flames and help pacify them when they were going out of control. Suoh described it as being “drawn in” by Totsuka. Kusanagi, who Totsuka also supported with controlling flames, understood that well.
“I wonder what exactly the Seven King business is about…” muttered Kusanagi without thinking.
The Usagi didn’t show any reaction from behind the mask.
“The Dresden Slate holds many secrets,” the Usagi indifferently replied.
“But right now, the Slate is used for people. I understand the significance Gold King’s. Thanks to the Gold King who governs prosperity that the country stands as it is today… but what about the Red King? What need is there for one person to have that kind of enourmous destructive power?”
“Destruction and violence are human motions.”
“So you’re saying that the Red King is a symbol of the condensation of that aspect of humans?”
“Noone knows the Slate’s purpose and intentions. Any meaning found within it is only a reflection of our own sentiments as mere humans. If we think of them as embodiments of these sentiments, then perhaps what we call the Red King is the embodiment of the blast that destroys in order to make way for the new and spur evolution. Or perhaps it is the overarching symbol violence that will never be erased from the world of humans. We can come up with many explantions but we won’t know the answer.”
Kusanagi went quiet.
In any case the Red King, burdened with the destiny of destruction was a monster. And evidently the Slate chose Suoh Mikoto.
After a moment, the Usagi began to speak once more.
“How a King choses to use their power is up to the King to decide. The path that the Red King, Suoh Mikoto walks down will be chosen by Suoh Mikoto himself. And Suoh Mikoto has already made his first choices.”
“First choices?”
The Usagi continued with his back perfectly straight like a doll and answered.
“He has chosen his first two clansmen. One of them, you, sees things with reason. The other also, I would assume, isn’t a person who would act according to violence.
Kusanagi searched through the eyehole in the Usagi’s mask for a while and then sighed with a slight laugh.
For Suoh, he also had the choice not to have clansman, and to walk down his path alone.
However, the fact was, Kusanagi and Totsuka had become his clansmen. And if that was the choice that Suoh had made, then what else could he do but to do as much as he could to support him.
†
Totsuka sat on the sofa hugging one knee and looked over at Suoh who was sitting on the bed.
On the second floor of Bar HOMRA, what was once Mizuomi’s room and was now a storage room is where Suoh stayed in the past month.
His control over his powers as a King was still shaky, so it was too dangerous for him to stay at his home, separated from the neighbours by only a thin wall.
Even now, the flames within his body seemed to be oozing out, giving him a red glow. With his elbows on his knees and face lowered, he looked like a prisoner. His red hair was just long enough at the front to get in the way of his eyes, his face wasn’t shaved and overall he had lost a bit of weight.
Since becoming a King, Suoh was constantly battling with his flames.
Totsuka watched over him and helped him calm down when Suoh got caught up by his own powers.
(I want to be a king’s vassal.)
What Totsuka once said when he was young had become a reality. He once simple mindedly said ‘Don’t you get the feeling it’s like he’ll really become a king some day?’ and now Suoh Mikoto had gone past being the ‘King’ of the deliquents and then being chosen by a supernatural object become a King holding immense power.
And now Totsuka could clearly see before his eyes what the cruelty of becoming a King was to Suoh.
Swaying, the red light enveloping Suoh expanded. Within the smouldering flames, Suoh furrowed his brows with an annoyed expression.
As time passed, the flames didn’t settle down.
Totsuka stood up, walked towards him and then gently put his hand on his shoulder.
A part of the magma like heat that Suoh was holding down transferred across through his palm.
Suoh glared up at Totsuka with the eyes of an alert beast. It was a bloodthirsty look.
He’d gotten used to that look by now, but before Suoh became a King, while he often gave relaxed glares, he never gave these kind of glares before.
But Totsuka didn’t let it bother him and smiled.
Totsuka let the small flame inside him tune with Suoh’s turbulent flames.
Although we say “tune”, Totsuka couldn’t interfere with a King’s power directly. It was more like singing a song close by to Suoh’s flames.
Singing next to Suoh’s flames would allow them to calm down just a bit. He spoke just as the intensity of the flames loosened a bit.
“King”
Totsuka lifted his hand from Suoh’s shoulder and held his hand, palm up, in front of Suoh’s eyes.
His had was lightly wrapped in flames, and a small red light flickered on his palm. The flame flickered and became a butterfly made of flames.
“Look! Look! A butterfly.”
The butterfly flapped its wings and flew off Totsuka’s palm. As it flapped its wings, scale like sparks glistened and fell and it created a gentle breeze.
The butterfly playfully flew around Suoh leaving a lingering trail of flames as it went.
“… What are you doing?” Suoh scowled in an exasperated tone.
Totsuka puffed out his chest.
“I wondered what I could do with the flames you gave me and after a lot of practise it turns out I can make a butterfly.”
“What kind of practise is that suppose to be,” Suoh gave a slight smile.
Totsuka smiled in return.
Totsuka had become like friends with flames that bothered Suoh.
The Red King’s attribute was said to be violence, flames destined for destruction. But he believed there was more to it.
He knew that if Suoh wanted to, he could use it as a fearsome power to destroy absolutely everything. But at the same time, the color of the flame was beautiful, it could provide warmth to its surroundings, and part of the flame could even be used to make a butterfly.
Before meeting Suoh, Totsuka heard he was a beast not open to communication. But after meeting him, in reality, Suoh often answered when Totsuka talked to him. He could smile. He wasn’t just a scary person. His powers were the same, was what Totsuka thought.
Totsuka communicated with Suoh’s flames. He sang beside them, conversed with them and stayed beside them until they were on good terms.
Suoh flicked his long fringe and then annoyedly sat up straight.
“… I’m going to take a shower.”
“Good idea. You kind of stink like a beast right now Kin- Ouch!”
Suoh lightly hit his head as he walked by.
Totsuka dramatically clutched his head, but it didn’t actually hurt. Being able to be that carefree was a sign Suoh could control his powers. It seemed it had become stable again.
Totsuka watched Suoh from behind. With his slouched posture and long waving hair he gave of a lazy impression. From the back he really did give off the image of a lion.
“King, once you’re out I’ll help cut your hair. It’s getting in the way right?”
Suoh looked back.
Totsuka held up his hands in a V shape mimicking scissors snipping. Suoh didn’t reply nor reject and simply left the room.
After watching him leave, Totsuka went to get scissors. Since he was finally getting a haircut, they shouldn’t just cut it the same as before, and should use this as a chance to try a different cut. Ever since he was small Totsuka had cut his own hair, so he had some degree of confidence in his abilities. Suoh probably wouldn’t complain.
‘Speaking of which, I need a haircut too…’ he thought, grabbing the back of his hair.
Because he let it grow and it bothered him, he had tied it up.
After getting the scissors, he went downstairs.
The curtains were closed so the bar was dim. He walked through, noting the sorry state the interior was in, resembling ruins compared to the past.
A lot of dust had gathered since it had been a while since they last cleaned. Due to the numerous attacks they had, the windows were smashed and they still couldn’t afford to replace them, so they used cardboard to temporarily block them. The interior had many holes burnt from the instances when Suoh or Kusanagi couldn’t control their flames.
Totsuka livily threw open the singed curtains. The low, soft autumn sunlight shone in lighting up the interior.
“I hope Kusanagi-san comes back soon” he thought.
After Suoh became King, all the formalities were done by Kusanagi. Suoh was still battling with his power, so today Totsuka thought he should reward them both.
‘I guess I’ll cook dinner!’
Totsuka narrowed his eyes as the sunlight shone on his cheek.
(I want to be a king’s vassal!)
He didn’t regret his irresponsible declaration.
But he didn’t want to continue acting irresponsible.
Totsuka couldn’t completely comprehend it, but seeing Suoh’s anguish, he could understand it.
Suoh’s alienation due to becoming a King.
Totsuka was good at living a happy life despite being in circumstances that would evoke unsolicited pity from others. But it was also his creed to run away from any situation he wanted to leave.
‘King, did you want to escape all your fetters and become free?’
Like a lone beast in a narrow world, paying no mind to anything around him, using his power as he willed. There was a side to Suoh that that wished for that. Totsuka knew this, and was captivated by it.
But even then, Totsuka’s still hoped to show Suoh all the fun things in this cramped world. Totsuka intended to befriend Suoh’s flames. He would keep trying to talk, get close to and befriend them. If Suoh’s flames ever found Totsuka truly unpleasant, then surely in that moment he would be burnt to nothing. Totsuka’s ability to tune in with his flames would disappear in a moment and he would easily be burnt to the point where no ash would remain.
‘But King, no matter what you say, you quite like being with us right?’
‘Up until now, even despite all the unpleasant things, you still enjoyed it right?’
In that case, Totsuka made up his mind on what he had to do.
‘I’ll gather all the things you don’t dislike to create a kingdom.’
Suoh became a King, Totsuka and Kusanagi became the first inhabitants of his country. Totsuka’s job was to create a place where Suoh, Kusanagi, and all the people who would gather here, could smile.
He heard the floor creak behind him. Totsuka turned around. Suoh stood there with his hair still damp from the shower. Water dripped from the ends of his hair.
Totsuka smiled at Suoh, and the beast inside him.
†
It was only last year that he’d still been there, yet it felt incredibly nostalgic.
Suoh stopped walking and look up at the school building. It was the school he graduated from.
He didn’t specially intend to come here. He was wandering the city as usual and somehow his feet led him here.
He didn’t have a goal for being here, but he didn’t particually feel like simply passing through either so he simply leaned back on the guardrail at opposite side of the road to the school gate.
He took out a cigarette and felt around his pocket for a lighter, but didn’t find one. Seems he forgot to bring one.
He thought for a bit, and then lightly flicked the tip of his cigarette. He inwardly praised himself a bit for getting better at manipulating his flames.
After finishing his first cigarette, as he lit his second cigarette he saw a familiar woman coming out from the school gate. The woman had a gentle aura and was wearing a suit.
She recognised Suoh’s figure from across the road, let out an ‘Ah’ and then ran over.
It was Kushina Honami, Suoh’s homeroom teacher from high school. When she got to Suoh, before saying anything she took away Suoh’s cigarette.
“Come on now, you’re still underage.”
‘Was that so,’ Suoh was dumbfounded for a moment.
He lived without caring about such things, so he had genuinely forgot.
Speaking of which, he was nineteen.
Honami could’ve just thrown the cigarette onto the ground, but she simply continued pinching it between his fingers.
Suoh reached out to take back the cigarette and then clenched it in his fist.
“Ah,” Honami panicked, “What are you doing? You’ll get burnt!”
Suoh burnt the cigarette in his hands with his own flames. As he was praising himself internally once again for his skill, he opened up his palm and showing it was empty and not burnt.
Honami widened her eyes.
“What was that? A magic trick?”
“Well…”
It was close enough. He vaguely nodded and Honami chuckled.
“You’re an interesting child as always, Suoh-kun.”
Probably no other teacher would’ve called him an ‘interesting child’ besides her.
Honami gently smiled and then leaned on the guardrail beside him.
“I came out because our female students said there was a guy at the school gates who was giving off a scary aura. As I was wondering oh dear, what to do, it turns out it was you Suoh-kun. What made you come here today?”
There was no reason. His legs just happened to lead him down this road.
This was a place unrelated to the Slate, Kings or powers. It was simply a part of normal human lives. When he saw this place, although he wouldn’t go as far as calling it sentimental, he felt a strange sense of wonder.
“… I just happened to be passing by,” he ended up saying.
“You’ve changed your hairstyle, huh, Suoh-kun. You look cool with this more mature look.”
A few days ago Totsuka cut Suoh’s hair long loose hair. He now had a hairstyle with his fringe slicked back.
“What’ve you been up to lately?”
Honami threw out a difficult question to answer. All sorts of extraordinary things had happened, most of which were things he couldn’t explain to her.
Thinking back on a previous conversation they had Suoh replied, “Once you said I’d become a central figure among people… in a way I’ve somehow found myself in that kind of situation.”
“I see.”
“But I’m probably living in a way that you would find sickening.”
(…Suoh-kun. I think, that a Suoh-kun who uses violence recklessly, is sickening.)
Honami had once lectured him in those words when he was under her guidance. Even so, she said she believed in him. At the time he couldn’t understand how she had so much faith in him to the point where he agnoized over it.
Honami stared at his profile as if she was trying to stare a hole through him. Suoh endured the stare.
“Well that’s troubling,” she said in a serious tone, but in reality she didn’t actually seem troubled, “But in the end it seems I still believe in you Suoh-kun.”
“Don’t believe in me.”
“Plus, even if the time comes when you really do something sickening,” Honami tilted her neck, “I’ll be angry but I think it probably won’t change the fact I like you.”
“Ah, but I don’t mean that in a weird way,” she quickly added.
Suoh didn’t intend on replying, and stood up from the guardrail.
“… I’m going back. Sorry for bothering you.”
“Suoh-kun,” Honami called out.
Suoh stopped and turned to see Honami also getting up from the guardrail and turning to him.
“Are you still good friends with Kusanagi-kun and Totsuka-kun?”
“… Can’t get rid of them.”
“Is that so, I’m glad.”
As Suoh silently stared at Honami’s face, she gave a quiet laugh. Not recalling anything funny, he gave her a strange look.
“Ah, sorry,” said Honami, stifling her laugh, “For some reason when I see you, you remind me of my niece. Ah, do you remember? Last time I showed you the socks I was knitting for her. That one. She’s five this year.”
“Does she look that evil?”
“No. She’s as cute as a doll. But she’s similar in the way she doesn’t speak much and her eyes are beautiful.”
Suoh frowned at being compared to a five year old.
“I don’t get how you see things,” he murmured and then walked off.
“Come visit again some time,” Honami called out from behind.
As he continued to walk away from her, a person from ‘this’ world who was completely unrelated to and knew nothing of ‘that’ world, he felt like he was leaving behind the human part of himself.
However, he no longer had any lingering attachments.
†
When he got back to the bar, Kusanagi and Totsuka were bustling about working.
“Ah, King, welcome back.”
“Hey, you’re back.”
The two stopped what they were doing and turned to welcome him back. It seemed they were in the middle of cleaning the bar.
Kusanagi was sorting out the things he didn’t want to keep and stuffing them into a big garbage bag, while Totsuka held a dust cloth and bucket and was wiping the interior.
Kusanagi handed him a mop.
“Mikoto, you clean the floors.”
Seeing Suoh show an annoyed and bothersome expression, Kusanagi gave a malicious smile and said, “At the very least clean the place you live by yourself.”
He couldn’t complain when Kusanagi put it that way.
Suoh lived on the second floor of the bar and the bar itself became the Third King, Suoh Mikoto’s territory.
Totsuka was deeply moved when he heard about that.
(I see. … so this is will become King’s Kingdom.)
Kingdom.
A word separated from their lifestyle. However Suoh became a King and gave parts of his power to the two of them.
The silly children’s story was over, and now was the beginning of something new.
Suoh had one hand in his pocket, and with his other hand started mopping the floor.
“Kusanagi-san, what should we do about the curtains?”
“Ah, they’re singed aren’t they… Take them down. We’ll have to buy a lot of replacements for the interior huh.”
“Expenses are piling up huh!”
“It makes my head hurt…”
“But aren’t you excited, Kusanagi-san? You can redecorate the store with your preferences!”
“True, even if its difficult, its worth doing. Ah, Totsuka, can you go down to the Kamamoto Liquor Store to run some errands for me later?”
“Okay~”
Kusanagi and Totsuka lightheartedly chattered.
As Suoh ignored their chattering as if it were background music until Kusanagi who was sorting the shelves let out an “Oh?”
“What?”
“I found my uncle’s camera. How nostalgic… is this where it got left…”
Kusanagi carefully picked up the dusty instant camera.
“Ah! A long time ago Mizuomi-san used that to take pictures of us didn’t he! Back when I was in middle school and King and Kusanagi-san were in high school!” said Totsuka, dropping the dust cloth and running up to Kusanagi.
“What’s this?” he asked, picking up what looked like a camera accessory from the shelf the camera was on.
“Should be an external self timer. You attach it to the shutter button and wind the dial here.”
Totsuka’s eyes shone.
Even before Totsuka opened his mouth, Kusanagi smiled guessing what he was about to say.
“Let’s take a photo! The three of us!”
“I figured you’d say that.”
Totsuka and Kusanagi set up the camera, took the mop that Suoh only just got handed to him and led him before the camera.
Kusanagi wound up the self timer, and then the three of them stood there in a line.
Suoh absentminded stared at the self timer as it noisily wound back to the camera. It made a small noise as the shutter clicked, and a photograph of this moment in time slid out.

I don't know why I feel sad again. Oh right, maybe it's because I read Kingdom of Red last night and my poor heart still couldn't get over poor Mitsuha.
Damn..

KOR Bad Boys part 7
At long last, here comes the start of Kurayama’s involvement in the story.
Shout out to @endless-season for correcting the glaringly obvious English mistakes and sharing in my pain over Pink’s soft sadism.
-♛-
At first, Kusanagi had been unable to react. He could have sworn they had shaken off anyone following them. Though he had been prepared to be found out some day, he hadn't thought it would be this quick, nor that the boss himself would be involved in it. Kusanagi quickly turned his gaze to the area behind Kurayama. He thought it possible that Kurayama could have brought with him reinforcements to launch an attack. Were that the case, it would turn into Kusanagi causing a lot of trouble for his uncle, even if his uncle was not currently present. Kurayama smiled amiably and waved his hand, as though he had read Kusanagi's thoughts with the movement of his gaze. "Ah if you're worried about my army, don't be. I came alone. There's two of you right? So no need to be worried." Kurayama sized up Kusanagi and Suoh, who was still inside the bar. Kusanagu couldn't afford to let his guard down enough to look back behind him at Suoh. He continued to observe Kurayama and felt himself start to break out in an uncomfortable sweat. "How......" "Info needs to travel fast. That's the one policy we're strict about. If you think something's up, you report it right away. Check it out right away. And then report back again. As fast as you can. If you do that and never keep your leader in once place, you can keep up this shitty game up for a bit longer. Info's blood. And if the vessels get clogged up, you die. Well, not like any of that'd matter when you're dead." Kusanagi modified the image he had of Kurayama in his head. The Kurayama he had pictured from what he had heard from people was someone who was more disturbed, like a brainless guy who would use violence without thinking of the consequences. But, this guy was no idiot. It wasn't as though he didn't think of the consequences of his actions. It seemed to be that he did, and continued on with his reckless behavior knowing full well that he would eventually be brought to a stop. He's not an idiot, but he's extremely desperate. And there was no greater danger than that desperateness. "Kurayama Mitsuha." Kusanagi said his name cautiously. "Are ya tryin' to die?" Kusanagi asked the question purely out of his own curiosity. Upon being asked the question, for a brief moment Kurayama looked at him with childlike amazement for and laughed. "Does it seem that way?" "Yeah. Ya can't help but see it as a roundabout way of trying to kill yerself." Cautiously, Kusanagi waited for Kurayama's next move, trying to determine how he'd respond. But before Kurayama could give a reply, a voice rang out from behind him. "It's narrow," said the voice deep as an animal's growl. It was followed by the sounds of footsteps across the floor from behind Kuansagi's back which grew closer. Kusanagi stepped back with only one leg and, not letting Kurayama out of his sight, turned to look at Suoh. Suoh and Kurayama did not give off the same vibe. Yet despite that, in that instant they seemed to mirror each other to Kusanagi. "Being well behaved is too constricting and makes you want to break out. It's nothing new. And people who're like that quickly disappear. That's nothing new either." Suoh stood at the entrance to the bar, right in front of Kurayama. His did not appear to be riled up by his expression, nor was he trying to provoke the guy. He was extremely levelheaded. "Ain't nothing cool about getting yourself killed." The corner of Kurayama's curled upwards at Suoh's words. "You Suoh Mikoto?" Kurayama put one foot in the bar and brushed Kusanagi off to the side. He stood right in front of Suoh, observing him from such a close distance that their noses could have brushed at any given moment. "I see now." Kurayama nodded several times and then smiled. "Break free with me." (1) With very little prior warning, Kurayama hit Suoh. Suoh's body went flying, knocking over a table and chairs in the bar. Kusanagi didn't have time to react and simply watched on in shock as it happened. "O-oi!" Suoh languidly sat up from behind the table that had fallen over. There was blood trickling down from a cut on the corner of his mouth. "You took the blow on purpose?" said Kurayama mockingly. "You're really good at seeing things. You saw me move to attack just now but decided to still take the blow anyway? You think something's gonna change from taking a blow? Or are you the kinda guy that pain makes them get into it?" Suoh stood up and used his sleeve to wipe the blood from his mouth. Kurayama swayed back and forth. "I don't mind pain either. Both dishing it out and taking it." Kurayama leapt at him. It was like he was an acrobat. His movements were flashy and he utilized violence as though it were a form of art.
He angled his one leg up to around 140° and let loose a high kick. Suoh used his arm to take the blow and returned it with a punch. Kurayama took the blow as well. He then lunged at Suoh with an animal-like quickness. Grabbing Suoh by the collar, Kurayama hoisted him up onto his back and sent him flying. Suoh's body curled in on itself as he flew and, even though he should have smacked hard into the floor, the impact only produced a light thud. It may have due to the fact he took the blow straight on and didn't dodge. On the contrary, Suoh then grabbed Kurayama and sent him flying right back. The two nimble wild beasts fought it out in a mess of tangled limbs. The bar's interior was being destroyed by their scuffle. Kusanagi continued to watch it play out, unable to do anything about it. The two of them roughly bumped into a shelf. The bottles resting there on display fell to the floor and broke. The shards dug into both of them as they collapsed over them. They both leapt back to put some distance between them and exchanged glances. Suoh yanked out a piece of glass that had embedded itself in his hand and threw it away. Kurayama collected the pieces that has gotten on his jacket and used his tongue to lick the blood dripping down his face from a wound on his cheek. "W-wait a minute! Hold it!" Kusanagi called out as he finally came back to his senses. But Suoh and Kurayama appeared as though they were too focused to hear him and began to clash once again. Kusanagi wasn't reckless enough to throw himself in the middle of an intense battle of offense and defense.
He surveyed the area around them. The mop he had left on the floor in the corner of the bar from when he was cleaning yesterday caught his eye. Kusanagi quickly ran over there, snatched the bucket and flung its contents towards Suoh and Kurayama. Cold, slightly dirty water rained down on the two guys. That was enough to make the two of them stop and look over in Kusanagi's direction. "I told ya to hold it!" shouted Kusanagi as he threw the now empty bucket down onto the floor. Kurayama frowned and ran his hand through his soaked blond hair.
“Why’re you throwing cold water on my fun? Ah, you literally did. Throw cold water on us,” said Kurayama. He gave a slight smile at his own joke. (2) Suoh let the water drip down his head and continue to stare at Kurayama without batting an eye. Kusanagi gave Kurayama a sharp look and chose his words carefully. "Just what're you plannin' to do?" " 'What?' "
Kusanagi breathed deeply. Kurayama was far from an idiot, nor was he a madman who couldn't put together the meaning of the words. However, it was certain that he was living in a world that was completely outside of Kusanagi's common sense. Cautiously, Kusanagi searched for how Kurayama's world was shaped.
"I heard all kinds of rumors about ya. 'Bout you goin' around picking fights and show off yer strength. Till I met ya, I thought you were a guy not right in here. Strong, but couldn't think of the consequences of his actions." Kusanagi said, lightly tapped his own forehead to punctuate the word 'here'. "But now that I've actually met ya, that's changed. You do think yer actions through. And yet choose to do them. You were talkin' earlier about how info is blood right? Even though yer careful enough to circulate that blood so ya don't die, yer still doing stuff that'll lead to yer death. To ensure yer safety for the time bein' you're crushing people who're plotting things that'll inconvenience you, all while knowing full well that the only thing that lies ahead of the path you're walking is destruction. Ya seem like you've got somethin' yer aimin' for but actually don't. Just what's up with ya?" "So what you're saying is I'm contradicting myself?" Head bent at an odd angle, Kurayama spoke as though he were not talking to anyone in particular. "Yeah," Kusanagi agreed. "Shut up." Kurayama said, suddenly taking the tone of a child who was throwing a tantrum. He stuck out his lower lip as though he were upset. "I lost any goals I had five years ago. Since then I've gone on livin' my life like this, but there hasn't been any point to it." Kusanagi raised an eyebrow at the words 'five years ago'. It seemed that something which had been a turning point to this guy had happened to him back then. "There's nothing in living like this. That's why I just do what I want, grow bigger and burst, even if it's stupid. There's nothing else left for me to do. But if I got destroyed too quick I wouldn't be able to get big. So I'll snap any needle that gets in my way because then I've grown a bit first before I burst. That's good enough for me.” Kusanagi didn't try to understand his rationale. He simply understood that this is the type of creature the guy is and searched for a way to hold a conversation with such a creature. "I see. And that's why yer trying to hurry along your imminent destruction." Kusanagi prodded him on with a controlled tone of voice, careful to not be too inciting. Kurayama gave a small reaction. "You talkin’ about that lecture about how we're becoming an eyesore for the yakuza that you baited my group with? Or how you're going to make an organization to compete against me?" "Is playin' around at starting war that'll get you crushed what you really want?" "That's right. .......But." Kurayama looked over in Suoh's direction and his expression turned serious. He was a guy whose emotions as easy to read as a child's, yet when he he was expressionless it gave off a slightly unsettlingly feeling. "I've changed my mind a bit seeing you." Kurayama stared at Suoh as though he were trying to pierce through him with his gaze. Suoh didn't move in the slightest. "You get how I feel, dontcha?" Suoh did nothing to answer the question posed to him. He neither confirmed nor denied it. "You said it. That's ‘it's narrow’. You feel the same too. That this world is narrow, hard to breathe in and you wanna tear it all to pieces." Kusanagi looked between Suoh and Kurayama. He recalled how earlier for a moment he'd thought that Suoh and Kurayama mirrored each other. "You want to get along with me because we're members of the same species?" Suoh said with disdain. Kurayama sneered as he laughed. You could see the pointed tips of his teeth from behind his pale lips. "Yeah, I do. Seems to me that duking it out with you'd be an even better way to break free than by fighting with someone or getting done in by someone." Kurayama's eyes seemed to burn with the level of heat of a flame. When Kusanagi saw those eyes, he knew that the guy was being serious when he said it. He had met Kurayama Mitsuha for the first time not long ago. He didn't know what he was like on a normal basis. But, from what he'd gathered from the rumors and man himself, Kurayama was bored with living in the world. He didn't find meaning in living life by fitting into society, so he started behaving recklessly without any aspirations. Kurayama was one of the burnt out, empty people you'd find anywhere in the world, although slightly larger in scale due to his strength. A person who had nowhere to go in this country that was in an age where it was more prosperous and peaceful than it had ever been throughout its history. The eyes of a guy like that now burned brightly like he had found something. Kusanagi instinctively knew that this fight with Suoh, that had seemed ridiculous from an outsider's point of view, had meant enough to Kurayama to make an impact on his life. Suoh shot Kurayama an irritated look. He might have grown bored of the long conversation. "Quit standing around talking. If you're gonna fight me then come on and fight me already." Kurayama's lips curled happily upwards like a crescent moon at Suoh's words. They both got into position. Kusanagi, seeing this, made up his mind. "Earless Mitsuha. Promise me one thing," he said.
Kurayama cast a suspicious glance over at Kusanagi. "This is a duel." Duel. A word that doesn't often pop up decent conversations. Kusanagi mentally sneered at the outdated ring of the word he used.
Kurayama continued to look over at Kusanagi with an extremely serious look on his face. "The loser has to follow what the winner says." Kurayama laughed. He laughed and accepted the terms. They went out to the back of the bar. Kusanagi walked alongside Suoh. In a small voice he whispered, "Sorry for decidin' things without askin'." Kusanagi treated a kouhai of his, one that he'd suddenly gotten involved in this mess today, someone who was neither his ally nor his friend, as though he were a pawn. The moment Kurayama had set his flame-like gaze on Suoh, Kusanagi had known that the best method of stopping the empty runaway vehicle that was Kurayama was to have him crash into Suoh. For Suoh, however, it was a situation that the word 'trouble' could not even be begin to describe. Yet, despite that, Suoh looked unconcerned. "It's fine. It'd probably be easier to have you call the shots." Kusanagi smiled wryly at Suoh's not being shaken in the slightest. If his kouhai were to lose this fight, Kusanagi would have to do everything in his power protect him, no matter what the cost. It was just before the date would change to the following day. The night air in spring was filled with a chilliness which betrayed the warm almost hot temperature of the daytime. Suoh and Kurayama stood on the paved road. Kurayama gazed at Suoh, lazily slouching over as he readied himself for the fight. "Mikoto." Kurayama called out to Suoh. His tone was as though he were addressing a good friend of his. "Have you ever seen a gigantic amount of heat, Mikoto?" Suoh furrowed his brows in suspicion. "I have. A gigantic heat. A pure power that destroys the good and bad alike. I wanna be something like that." Though Kurayama seemed as though he had lost himself to that heat, at the same time, it also appeared as though he saw himself through terribly cold eyes. Kurayama let out a self deprecating laugh. "But it seemed impossible, which made me feel bent out of shape and hopeless lately. But looking at you makes me think of that flame. ........It makes me wanna break free again now." Kurayama gave a toothy smile and the very next moment kicked the ground. He went flying in a straight line right towards Suoh. Kurayama pierced straight through the air as he headed Suoh's way. But when he was right in front of Suoh, Kurayama suddenly stopped and kicked Suoh in the side. It was a fast and slow combo that was executed as nimbly as a feint from a soccer player or basketball player. Not even a second after he stopped Kurayama let out a second bullet fast movement. He used the leg he'd stepped closer to Suoh with to pivot his body and aimed a well-aimed punch right at Suoh's face. Kusanagi gulped as he watched, his body stiffening. But Suoh didn't move. At the very last possible second he evaded the blow from Kurayama. Kusanagi recalled how Kurayama had said Suoh possessed good sight. Kusanagi watched and understood that it meant the strength which led to the boy being called a wild beast was not just from physical strength and how nimbly he moved. A large part of it came from his sight and instinctual reactions as well. Suoh continued to evade Kurayama's blows with light steps. The only sounds that reverberated through the air were the noise of Kurayama's punches and kicks piercing through the air and the footsteps of the two as they moved along the road. The hustle and bustle of Shizumine City was far away. Suoh continued to observe each and every punch and movement of Kurayama's as he evaded the blows and then switched to offense. Suoh used his arm to guard against Kurayama's right fist and then lunged toward him, raising up his first in a skillful uppercut that grazed Kurayama's chin. Though Kurayama had quickly jumped backward to get out of the way, from how he slightly staggered it didn't appear that he had gotten out unscathed. Suoh lunged towards the staggering Kurayama like a carnivore baring its fangs at prey that had shown a moment of vulnerability. He buried his fist into Kurayama's side.
Kurayama held his breath. Kusanagi thought that Kurayama was going to collapse onto the ground. However, Kurayama, still holding his breath, used the close proximity to latch onto Suoh's neck and restrained him by wrapping an arm around it. While Suoh was unable to move Kurayama punched him square in the face. Blood gushed out. It seemed like Suoh had gotten a cut right above his eye. Suoh closed the eye where he was wounded and smiled. It was the same sort of smile he'd had when he and Kusanagi were surrounded by enemies, but this time even more gruesome. Suoh grappled with Kurayama who raised his first to throw another punch, kicking the ground with all his might. It sent both of them into the air as they continued to grapple with each other. Kurayama collapsed as he was pushed down by Suoh and the two of them fell to the ground, tumbling around in a mess of tangled limbs. The two of them shot up at the exact same time like a spring and put distance between each other. Without time take a single breathe they both resumed punching and kicking each other. Suoh's fist connected with Kurayama's cheek and Kurayama's kick landed on Suoh's forearm that he'd put up to guard. "Aha!" came the short, delighted laugh from Kurayama, who fought as though he were dancing. In the midst of their intense movements back and forth, the blood flowing out from the wound above Suoh's eye flew across the air and onto Kurayama's face. He licked off some of that blood, which has landed on his lips, and then took a giant step closer. Suoh's eye was completely shut due to the blood running down his face. Having lost his sense of perception due to his closed eye, Suoh's sight, which he utilized as a weapon in fighting, had been decreased. Kurayama, who'd lunged closer, threw a well-aimed punch at Suoh's temple. Suoh didn't react. Was he unable to dodge it? Though he knew he wasn't able to intervene at the current moment, Kusanagi unconsciously took a step towards the two of them. That was when Suoh's knees suddenly gave out. Suoh suddenly dropped below, causing Kurayama's punch to cut through the space over Suoh's head, grazing his hair. Suoh, who seemed to have collapsed all of a sudden, stuck out his feet and landed on the ground with a thud just seconds before his knees would have hit it. And, from that position, he thrust his elbow into Kurayama's solar plexus. Kurayama stopped breathing. Suoh's elbow, carrying the full force of his weight, had hit Kurayama right in the middle of his torso and sent him flying backwards. Kurayama fell to the street, his back slamming against the ground as Suoh fell on top of him. Suoh didn't let the moment Kurayama lay there immobilized pass him by. He straddled Kurayama and punched him in the face. Once, twice, three times he punched him. In the darkness, Suoh's eyes glowed, reflecting the faint amount of light. It was no doubt the eyes of a wild beast that glow in the dark. Kurayama struggled, but there was nothing he could do to turn around the situation now that Suoh had gotten on top of him.
Suoh simply kept right on punching him. He seemed to still be riled up, but the gruesome smile he'd had before had disappeared. There was a calm-headedness about him that was like he was finishing up his job of putting an end to the prey he'd brought down. Though he didn't seem like it, Suoh was still just a fifteen year old boy. His body was still developing and would reach its peak form in a few years from now. Kusanagi felt a cold chill run down his back as he thought of the day this boy would reach his peak.
Even though Suoh was currently on his side, Kusanagi felt afraid of him. Kurayama Mitsuha, who'd been talked of fearfully amongst the boys of Shizumine City as an urban legend for a while now, had been hunted by this fifteen year old boy. At almost the exact moment Kusanagi began to worry over whether or not to put a stop to the violence, Suoh stopped. He languidly got up off of Kurayama. He used his sleeve to wipe off the blood that was dropping from above his eyelid in an irritable manner. Kurayama lay on the street with his limbs spread out. He slowly moved his eyes to look over at Suoh. Suoh also looked down at Kurayama. "Get lost." Suoh said, not beating around the bush. It was an order from him as the winner. Still laying collapsed on the ground, Kurayama gave a blood covered smile. "Fine." Kurayama looked up at the sky. For some reason or another Kusanagi felt compelled to look up as well. The night sky was cloudy and dimly lit by the light from the restless Shizumine City. Kurayama let out a long sigh.
".......I guess for now I'll take a bit more care with living now." He said defeatedly. Feeling disquieted, Kusanagi furrowed his brows. "....... Whadda ya mean by that, are ya still plannin' on doin' something?" "I mean I'll put a stop to my spree of suicidal actions. .........It'd be a waste to die now." Kurayama looked at Suoh once more. It seemed as though he was watching something dazzling. "You remind me just a little bit of that guy," said Kurayama as though speaking to himself.

Notes:
(1) Previously, I had translated Kurayama’s catchphrase ‘tobu’ as ‘get high.’ Long story short, in going through bits and pieces of the novel again with endless-season’s translations of snipits from KOR, it hit me that ‘break free’ was a better fit. So from now on I’ll render it as ‘break free.’
(2) The joke Kurayama made here (a joke involving ‘mizusashi’ for pitcher and ‘mizusasu’ for pouring water) is something that doesn’t work in English. I chose to substitute it with a subtle idiomatic pun of throwing cold water as that’s the closest possible equivalent, but if you’re in need of a more obvious joke then think of it as ‘rain on my parade’.

Facts & Trivia || Izumo Kusanagi
The following is part of a series of posts made by me. The information listed is official canon provided by GoRa. Sources will go from the anime, to mangas and novels as well as official short stories. These are NOT fanmade headcanons. The purpose of these posts is to provide useful information for fans as well as roleplayers looking for confirmed lore for their muses. Please do not reply to argue with me about what you read here. I did not come up with this stuff myself. GoRa did. I’ll come back to edit these as I find more info.
Born on April 10, 1986 (The same year as Ryūhō Kamo and Mitsuha Kurayama).
He speaks with a soft accent from the region of Kansai.
The first clansman of Mikoto Suoh alongside Tatara Totsuka, co-founder of Homra since 2007, when he was 21.
He acts as a “mother” to the clansmen of Homra, according to Totsuka.
His Homra insigna is on the right shoulder blade, opposite of Totsuka’s.
He is the strategist of Homra and acts as a spokesperson for Suoh Mikoto, as the King doesn’t like to talk much. While Suoh doesn’t choose for his clansmen and lets them do as they like, it is typically Kusanagi to give them instructions.
He is also the main informant of the Red Clan, thanks to his many underground connections. Before Fushimi left Homra, Kusanagi had hoped to pass down this role to him.
Because of this, he was one of the Homra members most affected and disappointed when Fushimi left. But unlike Yata, Kusanagi decided to respect Fushimi’s choice.
Kusanagi gets information out of people typically through intimidation. He is particularly good at frightening his victims with veiled threats to burn their faces and other body parts.
Heavy smoker, he can turn small embers and flames into explosive fire projectiles. He often uses his cigarettes and zippo lighter as a medium in battle.
He met Mikoto Suoh and Tatara Totsuka in high school and the three of them have been friends since.
Has attended college.
He can speak fluent English.
Owner or bar Homra in Shizume City, which he inherited from his uncle.
He repeatedly asks Homra clansmen to enter from the back during business hours, probably to not give the bar a scary reputation that could chase away customers.
He organizes “cleaning weeks” for his bar, involving several clansmen.
He loves his bar dearly and can become furious if anything happens to it. The best known strategy when that happens is to run away and wait for him to calm down.
He cares much for the quality of his drinks, even going as far as traveling from England to purchase liquor. The bar furniture is also imported from England.
Though keeping a gentleman air to himself, he can be rather brutal. He often beats up the other clansmen with a smile on his face, and has no hesitation in yelling at the Red King. Even Suoh seems to be a bit afraid of him, apologizing with his head low when accidentally ruining the bar.
He’s a parent figure to Anna, being the only one who will try to discipline her when she crosses the line of common sense (such as trying to keep a horse in the bar). That said, he has a soft spot for her and hardly can say no when she insists.
Appears jokingly flirt with Seri Awashima, though without ever getting vulgar (He even calls her Seri-chan, as though they are close), and he often jokes about her cold rejections. Though he’ll playfully pretend to be hurt by this, he doesn’t appear to really be, showing that his feelings towards her are closer to friendship than romantic interest.
Also calls her “tundra woman”, because of her seriousness and no sense of humor.
From as early as high school he was pretty level headed, not allowing others drag him into doing careless things. He often lost at tests of courage against Suoh and Totsuka for the sake of putting safety first.
This also shows that he’s not the type of guy to care for his own pride.
Even today he’s always the voice of reason in Homra, speaking up against any reckless or dumb ideas his fellow clansmen may have.
He’s enthusiastic of Kamamoto’s summer transformation and always makes sure to hire him as a waiter for the season to lure girls to the bar for business.
He thinks at his age he cannot be as direct in approaching and courting girls.
He doesn’t believe in ghosts and doesn’t seem to get scared in spooky settings.
He once gave canned peaches to Totsuka when he had a cold. This made it so that Totsuka did the same for Kuroh when he found him sick with fever.
He is considered the most romantic in the clan, having the best ideas on how to impress a lady. His suggestion for Anna’s birthday was to give her a bouquet of red roses gifted from each member of the clan individually.
Kusanagi was aware of the consequences of Suoh’s actions (that would lead to his death) from the beginning, as the Red King told him so after Totsuka’s death in private.

K Fan Clan: GoRA answer fans’ questions
From time to time, GoRA answer questions about the setting and the world of K on their K fan clan site. Thanks to blueseraphima providing the original text, these should be up to date.
Q. How many spare glasses does Captain Munakata have? A. He has a stock of them enough to fill one drawer to the brim.
Q. Since when has Munakata-san been wearing glasses? A. He's been wearing them for as long as he can remember.
Q. Does Munakata smoke? A. Normally, no. But on rare occasions when he feels like breathing in poison, he does smoke on a whim.
Q. I'd like to broaden my repertory of midnight snacks for keeping late hours. What doesn’t Captain Munakata snack on when he's hungry? Please tell me one thing from his menu. A. Ready-made boil-in-the-bag foods work better for him than cooking himself because you can order pretty delicious things online. He's into foods like frozen pasta these days.
Q. Who among the Scepter 4 members has the biggest sweet tooth after Awashima? A. That'd be Hidaka.
Q. How are the sabers of the Scepter 4 members managed outside of working hours? A. The procedure is similar to the police regulations applied to firearms: when clocking out, the members leave their weapons for safekeeping in a reinforced locker with a lock, and when reporting for work, they unlock it and equip it.
Q. What is Saruhiko and Totsuka's preferred type of girl? A. Totsuka doesn't have a specific type, so a girl he has fun being with. Fushimi didn't give a thought to things like types of women, but he'll stay away from annoying women and women with weird palate. [T/N: that last one must be the effect of Awashima and her anko... what have you done, Lieutenant? XD]
Q. What do Saruhiko and Misaki do when they hang out after their reconciliation? A. Sometimes they go for a drink, other times they play video games.
Q. Is Yata-chan's room on the clean and orderly side? Or disorderly, with things lying all around? A. We believe it looks like a guy's room, with things scattered all around.
Q. Does Yata-chan normally settle for a shower? Or is he one for soaking in a bath? A. He does both, but if he had to choose one, he'd pick a quick bath, crow-style. Since he's Yatagarasu. [T/N: karasu (garasu) means crow]
Q. Does Totsuka-san normally work? A. He's jumping from one occupation to another. His income is relatively decent.
Q. What is Totsuka's specialty dish? A. If one had to be named, it would be tom yum goong. However, he can make pretty much anything.
Q. What cocktail is Izumo-san's favorite? if possible, I also want to know what snacks go with that cocktail! A. Dry martini with salted nuts.
Q. Did Yukari attend Miwa Ichigen's funeral? A. We believe that out of consideration for Kuroh, he didn't, only observing the funeral procession from afar. He vanished immediately after laying flowers on the grave.
Q. What was Weissmann's favorite dish when he was still Weissmann? A. Sauerkraut.
Q. Hisui Nagare takes frequent naps, is it because he doesn't sleep at night? Or he just gets sleepy easily despite sleeping at night? This question's been bothering me. A. Hisui is the type to go sleep when he wants to sleep and stay awake when he feels like it, so his sleeping schedule isn't dependent on the time of day.
Q. Please tell me what Hisui Nagare's preferred type is! A. Someone quick to make decisions and quick to act.
Q. What is Iwa-san's preferred type of woman? A. Someone who can make delicious miso soup.
Q. What does Douhan-chan do on her days off? A. She holes up at home and plays single player online games (like shogi). As a rule, she mostly lazes about.
Q. Did the Minato brothers find jobs after what happened to them? A. The older brother, Hayato, entered college. And the younger brother, Akito, got a job as a police officer. It appears that Hayato, too, plans to join the police after graduating from college.
Q. If a Strain becomes a clansman, like the case with Anna and Neko, can they still use their strain power? It's been on my mind forever. A. The strain power and clansman power can coexist. It is possible to use both of them.
Q. Did foreign countries know about the existence of the Slate? A. Some of the top leaders knew. In America, among other countries, there even was a Slate research team.
Q. What character did you create first? A. Shiro and Kuroh. Munakata and Suoh were also created at the beginning. That is, the protagonists.
Q. How did you decide on characters' birthdays? A. We decided based on their zodiac sign. First, we determined their zodiac sign through fortune-telling, and from there gleaned the general image of their personality and such, choosing a suitable birthday then.
Q. I heard the reason behind your group's name, GoRA, is that you wanted to go to Goura hot springs all together in case of K project's success, so now that K even has a big fan clan, I wanted to know: have you done what you had wanted and gone there? Please tell us. A. No, we haven't (lol). But we've visited the Izumo Grand Shrine. And we decided we'd go to Goura hot springs when we disband. But that's even farther away.
Q. Is engaging in romantic relationships forbidden in the world of Idol K? Or does each agency have their own policy regarding that? Please answer! A. The stance on the issue depends on the agency. But only Promotion Scepter 4 advocates the ban on romantic relationships for the greater cause.
Q. It may be sudden, but I have a question! Are characters like Kurayama Mitsuha or Tsurumi active as idols in the world of Idol K? I'm so haunted by this question I can only sleep at night. A. It is unclear if they're active as idols or not, but we believe they probably work as managers or trouble shooters.

[POSITION, OBJECTIVES]
As a child, he looked at Kagutsu Genji and admired his overwhelming presence and power. They taught him that. To show that he was ready, he cut off half of his right ear. However, before going to see Kagutsu, Kagutsu died in the fall of Damocles.
After that, he was not enthusiastic about anything, and in the second half of his teens, he became the mob boss in Shizume and repeated a catastrophic behavior.

[BELIEFS]
The breath is not alive.
Only the "taboo" moment when the heart is elevated is crude.
[RELATIONSHIPS]
[EARLY YEARS]
Born between a collapsed yakuza father and a water business mother. His father became a member of the Genji Kagutsu clan and hardly ever returned home. When he was a child, he was attracted to Kagutsu, and his father taught him a Kagutsu installation and he cut off his right ear to prepare. He left home at fifteen and lived on the street, hanging around a woman's house.

[ATTITUDE AND THOUGHTS TOWARDS OTHERS]
[TERMS OF THE ADDRESS FOR HIMSELF]
The first person is "Ore".
Bright and harsh tone.
[TOWARDS SUOH MIKOTO]
He calls him "Suoh".
He felt something similar to what he felt for the person he admired.
Furthermore, he had the intuition that it was the same type of person as him, and had an instinctive feeling that it was him or that person would become the "king".
He had a frustration that was incompatible with his familiarity, although it should be similar.
[TOWARDS TSURUMI TOYA]
He calls him "Tsurumi".
A person who taught him about the world of "kings" that he knew nothing about.
He had many men as soldiers who could move at will, but Tsurumi was the first person to understand his ambitions and thoughts and lend a hand.

“SWORD OUTSIDE THE CAGE”
Translation: Naru-kun Raws: Ridia
"Have you seen Damocles' sword?"
Mitsuha said that, putting his shoes on the desk with bad behavior.
Tsurumi responds by opening the window and replacing the air in the room with the stench.
"Yes... in the distance."
"Really? How was it?"
"Because it was red, it was possibly Xuanshi from Jiagudu."
"Huh, no."
Kurayama expressed himself as a child who envied a friend with a popular toy. Tsurumi remembers those days. At the time, Tsurumi was an older teenager wandering around town alone.
Tsurumi's house had a father who lived violently, and Tsurumi lived as a young man in such a way that the shadows that were originally thin were further reduced so as not to be the target of that irrational violence. I don't know if it was the result, but if you notice it, Tsurumi has become a Strain with the ability to interfere with human perception and mainly "distract" himself. Tsurumi has left home, and his family has forgotten his existence.
"How was that?"
Kurayama turns his bright, innocent eyes under long healthy hair, looking towards Tsurumi. Tsurumi shrugged his shoulders.
"I thought there was a group of monsters with rare powers there."
“You are so madly sober. How convenient."
"Well, I've been alive because of the sober ability that no one notices, and I was surprised that some people have something above their heads that proves their existence."
"Hahaha!"
Kurayama laughs and leans against the back of the chair as if he were face down, and looks at Tsurumi's face.
"But yes. It is the Sword of Damocles.”
"Is it a sign of the" King"?"
Kurayama was a weird idiot who timidly talks about becoming a King, despite being a Strain. "I guess I'm a pretty stupid person who's really trying to make him King." He thought.
"The only monster that joins the "King" is a single sword that floats in the sky. The "King" is not judged by anything else."
Kurayama tries to reach the ceiling. Tsurumi narrowed his eyes and looked at him.
Tsurumi has come to terms with Kurayama because of the unity of interest and personal feelings.
If he can make Kurayama the King of Strains, he will be free to do whatever you want without supervision.
And his personal feeling felt a certain charm in the danger that this man, who is not completely fit to live in this society, will run for his illusory freedom until he dies.
"Mitsuha, I cannot follow the law."
"I will not defend you."
"I will not deny it, but he was killed after seeing you, Mitsuha."
"I feel sorry for the people."
When Kurayama sharpened his lips, someone knocked on the door of the room. Tsurumi moves and opens the door.
"Oh, you finally came. Thank you. It's bad, but I'll ask you to clean up here. He was an executive of an enemy organization, but Mitsuha was ignited in flamboyant flames.”
He orders his subordinates to remove the corpses that roll on the ground. The subordinate man stumbled for a moment when he sees the black object burned by Mitsuha's fire, but he immediately corrected his posture and replied, "Yes!"
Kurayama is a scandalous man, but he has a certain kind of charisma and there are quite a few subordinates who do things for Kurayama.
Until Kurayama can become King, it was the role of his men and Tsurumi to protect him from boring restraint.
To judge him, there is no law imposing inconvenience, a gaudy and huge sword would be good.
"Mitsuha, even if you become 'King', it seems like you will soon fall before a sword."
“So it's flashy, right? Isn't it a royal ceremony?”
Kurayama laughs and stands up, gently raises his hand to his subordinates and leaves the room. Tsurumi followed him.
"We are going to eat even the wheat."
"Soba? It's very simple, we better prepare Ramen.”
"Yes, Mitsuha likes Ramen shops, their thickness and fat."
Tsurumi sighed, complaining, and walked next to Kurayama.

Tsurumi was looking at Damocles' red sword.
Unlike what was seen in the distance in his teens, Damocles' sword, which looked from below, was heavy and dignified.
"I suppose you saw this before you died."
The words spilled out unexpectedly.
Mitsuha Kurayama died last fall.
Not killed by the celestial sword, but by a yakuza bullet fired for revenge.
Damocles' sword, the sign of the "King" that Kurayama wanted, is now floating in the sky like Suoh's sword.
It's right above the Strain containment facility, run by the Golden Clan, called the Center. Tsurumi was also captured and placed here the previous year after Kurayama's death. He escapes early from prison.
Apparently Homura cares about the Golden clan "Timeless Palace", he doesn't know exactly why that is.
Tsurumi heard the situation and went to see. Around the area, "Homura" was making noise, but no one notices Tsurumi who disappeared due to his ability. Tsurumi put his hands in his pockets and was in a neglected position, and a while ago he saw the Center building on fire, which had captured him in the past.
After a while, Suoh left the building.
The current Red King. The one with the Sword of Damocles. Those who could not be judged by anything other than the sword, the exchanges that took place during Kurayama's life circulated in his head, but he did not feel much emotion.
"When will you downgrade that sword, Suoh?"
Tsurumi muttered, turned around and started walking alone.
