Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse & Summit Hyperbarics & Wellness

The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation is the vision and the support behind the IDAHO OUTDOOR FIELDHOUSE in Boise ID Veterans Day weekend saw the ribbon-cutting at the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse (IOF) in Boise Idaho, along with the introduction of the companion Summit Hyperbarics and Wellness Center. For over a decade, Idaho has been served by exceptionally veteran-friendly HBOT centers in Sun Valley and Pocatello, along with the Healing Centers in Boise, Malad City, Twin Falls, and Burley. Hundreds of Veterans have been helped to heal their brain wounds in Idaho, including many of the leaders behind IOF. The vision of the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse is to provide opportunities to pursue well-being through outdoor activities and athletics, and to create collaborative experiences that strengthen a diverse community by supporting health, education, employment, and engagement in a uniquely inspirational setting. The focus is on challenged and adaptive athletes of all ages, veterans, and first responders, with outreach to the entire Idaho population. The Fieldhouse is supported by the JAKA Family Foundation, Mission43, and the Challenged Athletes Foundation - Idaho. This partnership has come together on a seven acre complex near to downtown Boise on the Boise River. Started in 1966, the Board of the JAKA Family Foundation is committed to making Idaho an exemplary model for innovative learning, a destination for accessible world-class recreation, and the most desirable state for life after the military. Mission43 provides servicemen, women, and military spouses opportunities to succeed in Idaho after the military through the pillars of EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, and ENGAGEMENT. It is the mission of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) to provide opportunities and support to people with physical challenges, so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. The Challenged Athletes Foundation and Mission43 believe that involvement in sports at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence and enhances quality of life. And now, with the installation of Summit Hyperbarics & Wellness, the combined history, focus, impetus, and Missions and Visions of the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse participants are joined with a world-class medical team practicing Hyperbaric Medicine. The Fieldhouse Consotium will help heal brain wounds and other physical, behavioral, emotional, psychological, spiritual, mental, cognitive, and moral injuries and obstacles of combat veterans and citizens of Idaho. It is no coincidence that numerous members of Mission43 are recipients of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and are living testaments to the healing power of Oxygen Under Pressure. It is a tribute to the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation, and to the team they have assembled, that Idaho is doing the needed work to innovate in a space where its citizens can receive better-than-normal care, encouragement, and opportunity. Roger Quarles, Executive Director of the J.A. & Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation, expressed his pride and enthusiasm, stating, "It's a campus designed to redefine boundaries, shatter barriers, and create a future where individuals, regardless of ability, can thrive in a world-class recreational environment."
