(A, Realistic)- I think L would probably love her in stockings and a short skirt and he probably teases her more when she dresses like this, whether he is aware of it or not

(B, Not Realistic but Hilarious)- Misa fooling around with L on their weird 3-way dates in an attempt to make Light jealous but Light 100% doesn't care, and Misa finds out it's a bit nicer than she imagined it would be... she'd probably never be "unfaithful" to Light like that, but it's still funny for me to imagine

(C, Heart-Crushing)- I don't have strong emotions tied to this ship, but it would be depressing to me if L was actually legit being pervy when he was confining and torturing Misa like that. Because I don't think that he was, and I think he was genuinely confused by why she was calling him a perv for it. The bondagey nature of the set-up was just some questionable fanservice courtesy of O&O, imo

(D, Disregarding Canon)- I don't really like that the anime made L seem more attracted to Misa than the manga did by adding in things like him attacking a banana peel while watching her hot commercial, because I think it's more unusual and iconic for him to not have a forced straight attraction of some kind. You can still read him as possibly finding her hot in the manga at points, but it's a lot more subtle than the little extras like that from the anime imo

Oh god, this is legitimately my NoTP for Misa. I really really don’t like this ship. 

This is probably all down to that one interaction they have in canon when L is torturing Misa and refuses to let her go to the bathroom and she accuses him of just wanting to watch her pee and calls him a pervert… to which L’s reply is just a cavalier, “I’m a pervert?”  

GRAGH, I say. Maybe it wouldn’t be something I feel as strongly about if the way L treats Misa wasn’t treated as comedic or normalized, but because that is how it was treated within the series and because I have seen people legitimately try and argue that L objectively treats Misa better than Light does in canon I just don’t really enjoy this ship at all.

Little segment of an AU I’m working on involving The Dear Hunter’s five Acts~  Death Note characters are transposed into it, with changes made to the Acts’ characters and settings to better fit Death Note’s characterization.  This bit is from Act II, after L (Hunter) sleeps with Misa (Ms. Leading) and is directed to the Church by Higuchi (the Pimp half of TPATP) where L meets Light (the Priest half of TPATP).  MisaXL and Lawlight are definitely a thing in this AU.  

"O, you sinner," announced the priest, "go whatsoever way ye will, but on the Lord's day, thou art in need of cleansing."  With a flourish as grand as his words, he wet his hand in the nearby marble basin.  L smirked to himself; holy water was only good if the good priest touched it, lest it be soiled.  

Ah... L caught his word choice.  The brown-haired preacher's vocabulary seemed to be rubbing off on him.  Was that such a bad thing, though?  

The priest flicked the water at L, and the newcomer closed his eyes for this ritualized forgiveness.  

"Be ye clean!"  

Naught happened, of course.  It was a con on both their parts.  But when L looked up again, he found the preacher beaming at him.  

"Welcome to the flock, Brother L," he said.  He opened his arms -- a rite of passage?  L returned the embrace, and the congregation broke into cheers, shouting hallelujah's and praises to God.  

"I am Father Light," murmured the preacher in L's ear, his breath warm and his tone angelically seductive...almost like Misa's.  "Do enjoy your stay in my City."

I wouldn’t say it with so much enthusiasm but yes, I do like Misa, even if I feel as if her potential was wasted. I just generally don’t think about her much tbh. I feel like that’s mostly because my interest in Death Note mostly revolves around the second arc at this point and by then Ohba was basically ignoring her character.

hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang

I don’t find her particularly attractive if I’m being honest, but I can see that she is supposed to be.

hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff

Tough one. I think Slytherin because she’s rather ruthless in pursuing her goals even if her goals are rather unorthodox

She can be sweet at times. And she’s also capable of brilliance when she wants to be, such as the whole Second Kira Broadcast thing as well as her plan to trap Higuchi.

God, I don’t know… (I think you can tell why this took so long) I’ve kind of stayed away from the Misa side of the fandom for a while… I will say this, though. Her death was bullshit. Not the concept of her death, no that makes sense. But Ohba didn’t even kill her off screen and have the characters mention it. He just flat out forgot to resolve her character arc. That is one of the only changes from Manga to Anime that I actually approve of. They at least put the implication there. But in the manga? She’s in one panel of the last chapter and then we hear nothing. It’s just… Ohba how did you manage to make such a masterpiece whilst being so shit at writing?

Also I just found out that she was born on Christmas and my sympathy level for her just skyrocketed.

do you prefer misaxlight or misaxl?

I like them both in different ways I think? I don't look for shippy fics featuring Misa normally, it's usually an incidental thing that I read shippy stuff with her because the only ship I normally cared enough to look for was Lawlight when I was big into reading fic. But I love how awkward and weird MisaxLight is and LxMisa amuses me... I would also really like it as femslash if done well because I think L makes such a funny and good wlw. I like both, but unless it was a totally different AU of some sort I wouldn't really want to see them as end goal relationships or anything? I love dysfunctional ships and base my interest more on the possibilities and how much the dynamics intrigue me more than anything else
