Everyone on the team started gymnastics because of simping. Masamune and Misato simped for the coach, Onagawa and Tsukidate simped for Masamune, Futaba simps for Misato. Watari is unconfirmed who exactly he simps for, it might be Onagawa.

Ok maybe this is just some wishful thinking on my part but... what if the hand thing is psychological? Like a ghost pain because all the nerves and stress for the regional?

Because if you ask me it seemed that not even Shotaro thought about being injured, like after the fall he didn't seem in pain and neither did he during the rest of the episode, it never looked like he was trying to hide it, maybe he wasn't because for him there was nothing to hide, not even with the bottle accident it seemed he was in any sort of pain or discomfort, or in the bathtub, he looked more thoughtful than concerned or in pain

If he was really trying to hide an injury I think we would have seen him actually trying to hide one, and maybe this wouldn't be the first time, remember how he was always in the bench before? Maybe the nerves gave him more ghost pains and it made difficult for him to play?

Also Misato knows or at least suspects something is happening, we could see it with the way he looked at Shotaro but still, the theory still aplies

I really hope they can sort tjis out :c Shotaro deserves to fly with his senpais and Misato

Also... can we also talk about the fact that Misato now calls Shotaro by his firt name??? Like all the time??? At firts he would use his name once and come back to call him Futaba but this episode he just called him Shotaro! QwQ is progress

Once he says to Shotaro that is okay for him to call him Ryouya I will think of them as canon, and no I won't disscus this

Comfort

Welp, @fairywithgremlintendencies said that Shotaro and Misato hugged before their talk in episode 11, so here I am, writing this.

Misato found Futaba suffering, and he hated that. From the small whimpering in the latters sleep, to the horrified expression and painful screams, he hated all of it. His eyes scanned the boy and landed on the wrist Shotaro was holding. And then it clicked.

He had no idea how to comfort a person and millions of questions were flowing through his mind. But he thought about similar situations he had seen in movies and read in books. Usually the other character would hug them and help them breathe normally.

Misato took a deep breath and hopped on the bed. Shotaro still didn’t react. Misato put an arm on his shoulder so the physical contact could calm him a little bit. It worked, as Futaba opened his eyes and began to slowly get up. Misato put an arm around his shoulder and whispered: “Breathe with me”

Ryoya took deep breaths and his friend began copying him. He put an arm on Shotaro’s chest to feel his heartbeat and bring more comfort to the boy, who was still shaking.

After about five minutes, Futaba’s breath and heartbeat regulated. There was still the problem with his wrist and it had to be solved.

“I’m going to get you some ice for your wrist.”

As Ryoya tried to get up, he felt himself being pulled back by his shirt. He looked back and saw Futaba clinging into the fabric and muttering a sad ”please,don’t go”. Misato sighed and put a hand in Shotaro’s hair, detangling some knots.

“Then come with me,” he spoke and offered his friend a hand for him to take. Shotaro hesitated but slowly, but surely brought his hand to Misato’s, who interwhineed their fingers together and dragged him out to the kitchen.

To the kitchen and back, they were walking hand in hand. Ryoya watched every single one of Futaba’s movements and thought about his next move. He decided to scold his teammate, but that was going to happen later. Now his first priority was to take care of Shotaro.
