Well, in all honesty, most of my comfort ships are OC x canon and even OC x OC. I want to mention them now that you ask, but I've never really talked about my OC's (aside from Prism, I posted her bio on here), so I dont want there to be confusion? If that makes sense? But I'll mention them in case anyone is curious and wants to ask

Prism x NiGHTS/PriGHTS (NiGHTS into Dreams)

Prism x Reala/Realism (NiGHTS into Dreams)

Prism x Audaci/Prudaci (NiGHTS into Dreams). Audaci is my friends @marshmallow-biscuit-blog OC, please go check her out, she has awesome characters and art and headcannons! ^^

Mirrage(my version of Selph) x Jackle/Mirrackle (NiGHTS into Dreams)

And last (but not least). NxR/RiGHTS (NiGHTS into Dreams). I will admit, this ship isnt really an OTP for me. I just see the art and headcannons for them and I think they look cute together. But the comfort I get out of it is seeing my two friends @marshmallow-biscuit-blog and @doggie-guts (another great artist you guys have to check out!) gush about this harmless ship and be so happy and content. I honestly wouldn't have gotten into the ship if it weren't for them. Not to mention the fact that they are the two who supported me the most in the NiD fandom, so seeing the NxR ship makes me happy since it reminds me of our friendship.

As for comfort characters... I have FAR too many to count, so I'll just go with the kind I'll like. Comfort characters are usually characters that I can relate to in some way. Like Marceline from Adventure time, how she tries to hide her problems and insecurities from anyone. For me, it's something that I can project onto without any judgment in a way. Of course I have friends I can vent to and talk to, but there are times where I just want to hide everything, you know?

I know this probably doesnt make sense, but it's the best way I could think of for describing it.

Since we've been rping about, tell me some of your juicy JacklexSelph (or in your case, Mirrage) headcanons

Ok, to let anyone else reading this know, Mirrage is my version of Selph. I dont feel up to posting about them now, but I did submit them to @funkyneonguts so you can go there and read about them there, just click on the selph tag. I'll post my version of Selph here latter.

And yes, I ship Selph x Jackle. Or as I like to call it with my version, Mirrackle. Here I'll give you guys the Abridged version of how I see they're story.

I like to imagine they met before Mirrage was freed. Like Jackle was one of the nightmaren that was tasked with fetching them. Since Wizeman uses Mirrage- or Selph as the other nightmaren knew them- as a fear tactic, to get them to behave or else "They will be imprisoned too."

Jackle however, liked Mirrage, they were different. And Mirrage found the Mantle amusing, with his antics. After Wizeman heard of this, he forbade Jackle from seeing Mirrage again. Those two would not meet again until Mirrage was freed...

When they were freed, after Wiseman's fall, Jackle was the only one who volunteered to show them around and get used to being in the physical realm again. Mirrage at first thought he was joking. They thought that he was just wanting something from them before, but now he actually wants to hang around them? Unless he really wants something from them, why would he just want to 'hang out'?

Eventually, they slowly learn to trust Jackle. They except that he actually wants to be around them. They realize that this isnt some elaborate plan to earn their favor. They realize that he actually loves them. And they too fall in love with him...

Now that that story is done, here are the headcannons!

Mirrage is a fashionista through and through. They love changing their outfits, whether it be feminine or masculine. And they absolutely adore it when Jackle goes gaga over their new garments. They always make sure to show off to him.

I like to imagine Jackle did the art on his cards. Mirrage loves art. They love seeing Jackle's art. Because of this, he makes so much art for Mirrage, they could make a scrapbook of them! They treasure each and every picture.

Because they spent so long in the reflection realm (like centuries long), they like touching people, especially those they like. They love physical contact of any kind, whether it be hand holding or hugging or kissing. If they arent touching Jackle in anyway, something is wrong.

However, on Jackle's end, I headcannon that his body is sensitive (hence why you remove his cape, than attack.) And is only used to skin on skin contact if its related to pain. When Mirrage touched him for the first time, he flinched and hissed at them. Now when he feels upset, Mirrage will just gently touch him, whether it be massaging or just hugging him.

Likewise, Mirrage wasnt used to the physical contact of others. When Jackle first gave them a surprise hug, they nearly bit his face off. Now they revel in Jackles touch, and know that if he doesnt hug him once, than something is wrong.

I personally imagine Jackle is a combination of 'just being hyper and mischievous' to 'actually insane and/or sadistic'. Mirrage absolutely loves both sides.

This would be Mirrage in general with someone they cared about. They are insanely protective of Jackle. Even though they know that he can stand up for himself, they'll rip out a man's spine if they were messing with Jackle.

Jackle is also protective, but he's the one that tells Mirrage to take a chill pill more often.

Mirrage is actually traumatized with how long they were trapped, how their senses were left immobile save for sight and sound, and how they couldnt escape. Jackle is the only one who helps them through their moments. Staying by their side and not leaving them until they feel better.

Likewise, Jackle has trauma from serving Wizeman, especially from all of the punishments. Mirrage makes absolute sure to be there for him during his moments, holding him close and not letting go.

Mirrage likes being wrapped up in Jackle's mantle, with him holding them. It makes them feel better if they had a rough day. Jackle will not hesitate to hug them from behind with his cape to help them feel better.

Mirrage likes that Jackle is smaller than them (Jackle is 7'0, Mirrage is 7'8). They'll use his size as an excuse to carry him, lift his head up and kiss him, etc. "Your so small." "I'm seven feet tall Mirrage." "Tiny."

Basically, they are so I love with each other, they could compete with Morticia and Gomez. I said it and I meant it!

And that's all I can think of! I know @marshmallow-biscuit-blog I already mentioned some of these to you. Hopefully the new ones are worth it!

Now, in response to my Jackle x Selph headcannons, or Mirrackle in my case, here is my version of Selph. Known as Mirrage.

Name: The reason I call my Selph Mirrage is because when looking for references for them, I noticed that where we got 'Selph' was from files that didnt refer to the bosses by they're true name, only by nicknames. So after coming up with their powers and story, I came up with Mirrage. A combination of Mirror and Mirage.

Pronouns: I use they/them pronouns because Mirrage is supposed to be androgynous. They can change their appearance as they please to look more feminine or masculine.

Appearance: Their voice, since they are a shapeshifter, can change to match the person they imitate. However, on their own, they have two voices. One is more masculine (sounding like Sebastian from Black Butler) and the other is more feminine, (sounding like Bayonetta from Bayonetta). They change between these two voices.

They are 7'8. They have literal porceline (explained in story). Their eyes are strange, having crystal blue sclera, golden irises, and white pupils, it's supposed to reflect how different they are to the other dream folk. Their bottom lip is painted gold and- like all the other humanoid nightmaren we've seen- have lashes.

Their jester 'hat' is midnight blue and silver striped, and the tails curl inward on the sides of their head, making it look like its framing their face. They wear a saphire blue jacket with golden buttons and coattails that reach the back of their knees. Underneath is a crisp white blouse with the frilled sleeves poking out of the jacket sleeves, like Balan from Balan Wonderworld. Blue dress pants with heeled black calve boots, basically giving off an appearance of a suit that's a part of their body (kinda like NiGHTS' purple leotard) They also wear black velvet gloves that hide their claws.

(Do you guys have ANY idea how much I wish I could draw!? Not only would it be easier to give you guys a physical description, but also it will give me a chance to explore their design and figure out what I really want for it! I've lost count of how many times this guys appearance has changed before I settled for one that I could ACTUALLY describe AND I liked!)

Story: Mirrage was the very first nightmaren ever created by Wizeman. Wizeman wanted to create the perfect nightmaren, one that would be powerful and would obey his every command and complete any task with the best results. However, since Wizeman himself couldn't steal ideya, he had to make Mirrage from his own human essence, making Mirrage reflect what was inside his heart. Hollow.

Mirrage was indeed powerful, they are even more powerful than NiGHTS and Reala. They could perform any task perfectly and swiftly. However, they did not listen to Wizeman. They would complete tasks given to them, but only if it benefitted them in some way. For example during ideya raids, they would take some ideya for themselves and only give Wizeman the rest.

The reason why this is the case is because of how Mirrage was made. Being made of a humans essence and not dream essence made them the most 'human' of all the dream folk. They refused to let others put them on a leash, they felt things that are usually associated with humans, and they were power hungry. In fact they were even planning on over throwing Wizeman and becoming the new ruler of Nightmare. However, their greed and pride were their downfall.

Before they could enact their plan, Wizeman chose to put them on a shorter leash since they were still useful to him. They just need their privileges revoked. So, he trapped them in their own realm, a giant labryinth made of mirrors from the ceiling to the walls to the floor. He banished Mirrage to the reflection realm where they only exist in mirrors, they have no physical body and you only see them in a reflective surface. Think of the vampire lore of vampires not having a reflection, but in reverse.

However, Wizeman did not take into account that they could travel outside their realm. Mirrage quickly found out they could travel the reflection realm to other surfaces as long as it was reflective (mirrors, water, metal, etc). They could even travel to Nightopia this way!

So now, they are essentially a wandering spirit so to speak. They travel back and forth between Nightopia and Nightmare and watch others have the freedom that was taken away from them.

Unless someone as powerful as Wizeman reverses the spell or Wizeman himself dies, they will remain in the reflection realm...

Powers: Aside from the norm (flying, super strength, transformation, etc). They are the perfect shapeshifter. Not only can they change into different objects/animals like NiGHTS, they can transform into a perfect copy of another. Due to this, they've also developed perfect acting skills. Unless you know what to look for, you wont be able to tell who's Mirrage in disguise and who's the real deal.

Since they are about 'knowing thyself', when a visitor is in their nightmare, they essentially give them a self reflection of themselves. Even things about themselves they dont like. For example, Mirrage would show the visitor just how much they can lose their temper, or how greedy they really are, putting emphasis on the bad aspects about oneself to show they aren't as good as they may think they are and would steal their ideya while they are obsessing over these imperfections.

Basically, they focus on self reflection. Another thing they'll do is show how swell your doing in life! For example, if they were Claris' nightmare, they would show her how everyone loves her singing, she's doing so well, she could even become a professional singer over time, etc. And while Claris would be so absorbed with these visions, Mirrage would take her ideya. At it's core, they make mirages to trick visitors into letting their gaurd down.

Personality: They are a business 'maren. They have no problem with making deals with anyone- whether they be visitor or nightmaren or nightopian- as long as it benefits them in some way. They have learned how to use your own words against you, so be careful what you say around them.

I'd say they are the silver tongued friendly. They can be the sweetest person you know while also be plotting your demise behind your back. They are not above using others for their own gain or manipulating others to get what they want. However, since they are made of a humans essence, they are not immune to growing attachments and even caring for another.

And that's my Selph! I know, they are much different than how others portray them, but I hope you guys like my genderfluid shapeshifting mirror nightmare! I would love to know what you guys think! And I would LOVE to answer any questions you guys have!
