Yesterday, my trip took me to the Masugnsbyn Nature Reserve in Kiruna, the wonderful Vasikkavuoma Mire Nature Reserve in Pajala (where I saw some amazing bird life), and finally the beautiful Jaipaljukka in Pello, Finland. I have many pictures to show once I’m back in Värmland to sort them out. Norrbotten, Sweden (May 26, 2024).

Day 15 - Poisonous Toridae

After Toridae devour large prey items, they burrow into the marsh bed and take root. Water dotted with the blooms of their tails designate plentiful hunting grounds.

Iron Flame lines that have altered my brain chemistry:

I look up into the wrath of Dunne in the form of gold-flecked onyx eyes.

"My heart only beats as long as yours does, and when you die, I'll meet Malek at your side."

The entire cliff, above and below, echoes it, as if the gryphons grieve the loss of the flier as one.

"You've earned an honorable death."

"My house. My chair. My woman."

"Look at how beautiful you are, Violet, coming for me on Tyrrendor's throne."

"That trick you mentioned? You know, with the fingers? Thanks."

"I fucking love you."

"I'm sorry. I choose your life, too. You are mine. I can't let you die."

"Less than a minute."

two more questions for ya!!!!! who is the mudwing queen in your au (or is there not one atm and thats why there isnt one in the royalty page on your th)? and two, who was queen of the seawings first, nacre or rorqual? if that question makes sense. like. i guess which one was born to inherit the throne and which of them married into it? (and if you feel like elaborating, how do they feel about the answers to that question?)

her name is Mire and she rules with her siblings as her advisors. she’s nice enough, a bit inexperienced but learning quickly how best to go about things. she’s a bit caught up in the political tension between the SkyWing and SeaWing kingdoms and is desperately trying to navigate the situation peacefully 

Rorqual is Queen Regnant (ie, the ruling monarch) and took over the throne from her sister, Vaquita, after an assassination cut her rule short (part of the reason Rorqual is the way she is!). Nacre is the one who married in
