#Miraculous Love Square

I went to a presentation party tonight and other people presented things like language development and indigenous foods or even their cute dog. I presented on the love square!

Simply Miraculous Love Square Headcanons!

Shehfiifoekdjfjr okok besides accidentally making Chat Noir too hot, here is our lovely love square! I figured out how to create a plot that incorporates every single combination. Here are brief points describing each pair!

Ladybug x Adrien

Ladybug initially meets Adrien by saving his life a few times and bumping into him accidentally. Because she is just as awkward as Marinette is, she doesn’t initially strike up a friendship

Later she goes to him to ask him questions she thinks only he can answer - how to deal with being a celebrity (ex: the oversexualization, invasion of privacy, etc.)

Obviously they both have a crush on each other - Marinette likes Adrien and Adrien likes Ladybug - but I can see Ladybug stopping any progression of a relationship to keep Adrien safe.

If they both confessed their feelings to each other, things could become messy because Marinette would realize Adrien loves Ladybug and not “her,” and Adrien would realize that Ladybug loves Adrien and not Chat Noir. This might cause adverse outcomes

I could see interactions between them being either very awkward or randomly wholesome if they shared their issues with each other

Marinette x Chat Noir

Screaming because this ship is lowkey growing on me

Best friend dynamic - but also comfort/hurt trope. They’re there for each other through each of their heartbreaks and relationship troubles.

Chat Noir is very protective of Marinette

In their hurt/rejection, I can kind of see them seeking romance/comfort with each other

Could turn into a situationship/rebound - but like Ladybug with Adrien, Chat Noir would shut down any prospects of a relationship for her safety and because he can’t share his true identity with her (like in canon)

Interactions with Marinette and learning about her on a deeper level (without her spluttering her words) could lead Chat Noir/Adrien to develop feelings for Marinette - and perhaps vice versa for Marinette

I’m seeing a lot of angst/emotion with this one

Adrien x Marinette

The classic

Eventually happens after a lot of turbulence and other relationships, like in canon

Adrien may or may not have sexual trauma from Chloe and the fashion industry, so he may be uncomfortable/disassociate during these moments with Marinette. A relationship with her could help him heal, as she would show him how a relationship should be and the innocent aspect of it (it’s giving Astarion romance in Baulder’s Gate 3 vibes)

When they discover they both have secrets they are keeping from one another, this would trigger Marinette’s anxiety and possibly Adrien’s. Mistrust might develop

Like with Luka, Marinette has the high chance of breaking things off with Adrien because she thinks he deserves better than her and she hates keeping her secret from him

Ladybug x Chat Noir

Chat Noir is Mr. Flirty flirt and Charisma until Ladybug flirts back, then he melts like butter

Simp Noir exe has stopped working

Thinking this ship might be the end-all-be-all because they are the only people who know their deepest secret - and although they don’t know their real names, they don’t have to hide non-specific details about themselves

Once Ladybug has feelings, she is a lot more confident to tease Chat Noir because she thinks it’s funny/satisfying to watch his demeanor change and his braincells stop working

Ladybug, if in a relationship, would probably be strict about PDA and keeping things secret between them so that Hawkmoth can’t use it against them

Meanwhile, in the universe where Marinette figured out identities first.

Chat Noir, flying through Marinette's window: "Helllloooo, my princess!~ It's so wonderful to see you on this beautiful night." Chat Noir: *Kisses her hand* "Though the night could never rival your im-paw-ssible beauty." Marinette, low on sleep, caffeine, and patience: "Adrien... get the fuck out of my house before I have to call Nathalie..."

I ranked every Taylor Swift song by where it fits into the Love Square. I bended them the most I could to force as many as possible into a category.

the ways that adrien, marinette, and their counterparts fell for each other really make me believe in true love.

let’s start from the very beginning: chronologically, it was chat noir falling for ladybug. he was able to comfort her in a time of weakness, and she was showing her true bravery and courage. like i said in an earlier post, he fell for her because of how lonely he had been for the past year. but also, the connection they had was immaculate and it speaks to so many lengths.

next we have: marinette falling for adrien. also spoken in an earlier post, adrien’s act of kindness by giving her the umbrella was major for marinette, since she was being bullied the year before. i think marinette also realized that he wasn’t this snobby rich kid she thought he was, and had a much deeper, kind self inside. that’s what made her fall for him.

going on: adrien falling for marinette. adrien stated in a season five episode that he felt feelings for marinette during that one very, very, embarrassing “statue” incident at the wax museum. he didn’t know it, but he did, and he probably was fighting his feelings for her secretly without realizing. adrien saw one of, um, marinette’s “true sides” during that, since she only stuttered around him. but i think that this weird, quirky side of her made him fall for her, along with the kind marinette he had already seen. and these feelings slowly grew, bigger and bigger. adrien only realized it in season five, when his feelings for ladybug were slowly fading and he finally accepted it.. because first comes denial, and then acceptance.

last, but not least: marinette falling for chat noir. its never said, but i’m sure that marinette fell for him in the season four finale, when he comforted her through it all and gave her a hug. we see her blush then, and i think that she, for once, felt like there was still someone on her side (in the moment, not literally.) she then fought the feelings for a little bit in the beginning of season five, and then accepted it after finding them a couple episodes later. it’s all about kindness with adrien/chat noir, i swear.

they were all a little in love with one or the other from the start, but they didn’t really get unleashed until later (unless it was marinette for adrien and chat for ladybug)

so, it was never about looks or status. it was about the personality, the kindness, the generosity, the qualities that make people stand out in a way that appearances can’t. and that is true love.

I'm loving this Shadybug and Claw Noir stuff because it's making me enjoy the love square for the first time in a while.

It's something actually new to the ship for the first time in a while. It's weird and fun and it's the first miraculous content in a while that hasn't set the Fandom into a firey rage.

Miraculous finally got a win, it feels good.

I keep seeing jokes and I keep making jokes about how Miraculois will go on forever and even if it’s 2034 for us, they will be on year 2 of having the miraculous in universe…

But y’all, when miraculous ends it will be the most heartbreaking soul crushing mind boggling thing. Because what do you mean we’re not going on another 1 year hiatus? What do you mean we’ll never see the team again? What do you mean we’re never getting another pound it?

What do you mean it’s over?

There's one thing I don't understand:

The multiverse is canon and the multiverse is endless which means that literally everything can and is canon somewhere.

And the Kwarmis know of every universe and experience everything simultaneously.

So, If a universe existed where Marinette and Adrien shared their identities from the start (and let's be real, it is not only a common fic idea but definitely canon too somewhere) then why do Tikki and Plagg and every other kwarmi even be told the identities of other holders?

Is there a failsafe in place that they don't remember them? Do they choose not to look? Or do they actually know all the identities but pretend not to because it's not their place to tell anyone?

I'm curious about your thoughts on this!

I find it so funny that Miraculous Ladybug insists on dragging out their love square identity thing outside of 'what if's for over five seasons and probably building up to some massive reveal. But then the fandom is just like "Well actually, they realized each other's identities a while ago cause Ladybug had to borrow Chat Noir's inhaler on a mission and it said Adrien Agreste on it. So they just know and are chill about it."
