Another favorite of mine is SCP-261 - "Pan-Dimensional Vending".
Which is pretty much exactly what the nickname implies it to be, a vending machine that anomalously dispenses products that seem to be from across dimensions, starting out with things you could expect in our world, to products that have never been produced in our world, to ones that can't be produced in our world. This goes on the more it is used in a short time frame.
Here's a few examples taken from the test log in the SCP itself.
“Cheetos” – A small bag of Cheetos snack food, packaging in English.
“Pepsi: Dragon Twist” – A can of Pepsi cola, with a trace of fruit flavor, packaging in English. Flavor identified as Dragon Fruit. PepsiCo does not produce this product.
“Darkside Cola” – A “can” with clear plastic sides, packaging in Japanese. Liquid inside is clear. When opened, liquid appears to react to the air, and changes to dark black over a period of several seconds. The black coloration “looks like billowing smoke”, and cannot be reversed. Liquid’s taste described as “cola, with something spicy in it.”
“The Little Bakery: 7 Grain” – A small tube the size of a candy bar with a green button, made of aluminum, packaging in English. When the top is twisted off, a mass of “dough” is extruded. “Dough” contains several enzymes and bacteria that have not yet been identified. On contact with air, these cause the dough to rise and “bake”, killing the microbes in the process. Produces a small, round loaf of bread weighing 250 grams. Taste described as good, but chewy.
“Lemon Clams” – Thick plastic baggie with a plastic tube on the side, containing water and twelve clams, packaging in Dutch. Following on-package instructions, the plastic tube was cracked like a “glow stick”. Liquid in the bag flashed to steam, venting from a hole that popped open in the top of the bag, slightly burning one researcher. Steaming finished after thirty-eight seconds, after which clams were found to be fully cooked and infused with a mild lemon flavor. On investigation, clams match no recorded species.
“<Unknown>” – Small mesh bag filled with small, multi-colored pyramids, packaging in an unknown language. Pyramids found to be very hard and unpleasant tasting, compared to chalk in taste and consistency. When placed in hot water, pyramids open and produce “strings” that quickly dissolve, coloring the water the same shade as the pyramid. Water had no additional taste, but testing revealed a sharp increase in mineral, carbohydrate, and protein content, with several minerals unidentified at the present time. This content was found to be consistent with the recommended daily intake of nutrients for adult humans. Researcher ingesting the water reported stomach cramps two hours later, but no other effects.
“<Unknown>” – Aluminum box with a small glass window on the side, and a large round button on the top, packaging in an unknown language. Box is seamless, and appears to be filled with small, round animals covered in fur, each with three small paws and a single large eye. Pressing the button causes the inside of the box to rapidly become super-heated, cooking the small animals alive. Muffled noises and scratching were heard for several seconds during the cooking process. After one minute, thirty seconds, the front panel opens and gives access to the now-cooked animals. Professor Kain volunteered to eat the animals, with no other researchers willing to do so. Taste described as crunchy and very spicy, with a small hint of beef.
“<Unknown>” – Tall, thin aluminum can, packaging in an unknown language. Opening the can caused a chemical reaction with the liquid inside the can. Liquid was apparently not intended for an oxygenated atmosphere, and detonated violently, causing several injuries and killing two researchers. Testing discontinued, and area cleared. Testing area observed to smell like citrus for several days.

Hey, you! It's been a while! What have I been up to, eh?
In short, a lot of time in Blender. There has been a pretty hefty list of things-to-model for the game. Most complex of these have been the machines you can place down in your factory.
But words are easy and talk is cheap, so let's dive right in with an absolute bumper update. Grab some snacks!
A veritable smörgåsbord of tinkertoys!
Let's run through them quickly, shall we?
Running down the left-hand side of the screen shot are the various mergers and splitter variants.
I didn't get too far into developing the game before I realised that having a splitter or merger force the user into one orientation (either left or right) was a terrible idea, and I made sure that both devices have a left and right variant. That should make belt organisation much easier!
Now let's get into the actual machines.
Extractor
The extractor is where it all starts. Feeding raw minerals in from the surface of the asteroid through the input ports. Send them somewhere!
Pulverizer
Mashes up your ores until they're unrecognisable. An essential first step for most ores before they can be processed further.
Analyzer
Science is the currency of the cosmos. Items can be funnelled into this machine to be analyzed, and science data accumulated. Your data can be processed into actual science points, but you'll only get data as good as the quality of the items you're throwing in here!
Collector
A large number-crunching supercomputer with the world's largest heatsink designed for one purpose - processing all that science data!
Recycler
Everyone accumulates a bunch of junk from time to time. Stop your belts from backing up and dump your excess into a recycler. Your waste will be shot into the sun at the earliest convenience!
Packager
Valuable items need to be shipped back to Earth, but you can't just throw a bunch of rocks into a rocket. Get them packaged up neatly in the packager before you send them off for export!
Exporter
The exporter provides you with the means to ship your deliveries back to Earth. Fill the pod with your items and it'll get launched via an electromagnetic delivery system. Hopefully someone will catch it at the other end!
Atomic Coupler
Bombards items with high-energy radiation, known to provoke strange changes in their material properties. With any luck, they'll be much less irradiated by the time they get back home.
Catalyzer
Provides special environmental conditions to change items into different forms. Not the fastest machine, don't let everything get backed up!
Centrifuge
Somebody once decided to spin things really fast in the name of science. The centrifuge gives you the opportunity to do the same for your factory! Toss some items in, spin 'em fast, watch what comes out.
Chemical Lab
Sometimes you just can't get the right items without a little bit of help from other parts of the periodic table. Subject items to a dip in the chemical tank to get some interesting new flavours out of the other side. Do not drink.
Enrichment Chamber
It looks like a rejected theme-park ride, and the safety of its contents are equally of dubious origin. However, the beneficial item-altering effects of this tumbling enigma cannot be argued.
Fusion Lab
Supercolliding superconductors were once all the rage. Until somebody minutarised one and now everybody has one. You're not cool unless you have one. At least that's what all the trendy kids are telling me. What is undeniable, however, is that items tend to come out of this machine more potent than ever.
Hydrator
Thanks to the large chunk of ice at the core of the asteroid, you're able to feed in water to your factory. Lay down some pipes and connect up this machine to use the power of good old H20 to help change and alter your items for new purposes. This machine is not a shower.
Kiln
Make things hot. Really hot. Then discover if you've reduced it to little more than a pile of ash, or something surprising and delightful.
It's probably going to be ash, though.
Small generator
Machine don't run on wishes and enthusiasm. They need good old-fashioned electricity. Yes, it's still cool - even in 2024. These machines will provide factory-wide power. Power lines are so 1884.
Large generator
Thankfully your factory is remotely managed, so nobody will have the urge to 'lick the battery', as it were. Especially given that this will provide a substantial power boost over the smaller generators. Give yourself some juice!
So there you go - a good look over what I've been up to recently! I am working on a number of UI improvements and updates, so hopefully I'll be able to share those soon.
I'm now fully in the phase of turning this into a final game. There's a lot of road still yet to go, but completing final models and such is a great way to 'see' progress happening, and helps build the enthusiasm to keep chugging away with the more menial tasks.

Mattoni 1873 mineral water brand installs complete canning line from KHS
Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic is one of the best known and most traditional spa towns in the world. The healing properties of its springs have been exploited since the 15th century. During its boom in the 19th and early 20th centuries, together with towns such as Baden-Baden in Germany and Montecatini Terme in Italy what was then known as Carlsbad was a popular destination for the traveling and spa society of Europe. With their grand architecture and dazzling social and cultural events, these locations were key milestones in the early development of global tourism. It’s not without good reason, then, that in 2021 Karlovy Vary was made one of UNESCO’s eleven Great Spa Towns of Europe.
One of the spa’s most famous citizens was Heinrich Mattoni, who in 1873 laid the foundations for the mineral water spring named after him when he purchased the little spa town of Kyselka situated around ten kilometers downstream on the River Ohře. Mattoni even had a separate railroad laid for the distribution of his water and by 1898 he was already selling approximately eight million bottles a year, all adorned with a label sporting the red eagle from his family coat of arms. The entrepreneur was subsequently made a peer by the Austrian emperor for his services.
Under the ownership of the Pasquale family from Italy since 1991, Mattoni 1873, as the brand is now called, is the largest distributor of soft drinks in Central Europe, with production sites in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria and Serbia. The company attaches a great deal of importance to tradition: in Kyselka alone, three crumbling buildings have now been lovingly restored with great attention to detail and according to the guidelines regarding the preservation of historic monuments. One of them houses the Mattoni Museum. Another, Hotel Praha dating back to the 19th century, is now used as offices for the company’s IT department. In the same way that Mattoni 1873 has married old with new here, the enterprise presents itself in an extremely modern light while remaining loyal to its history, investing over €40 million in state-of-the-art technology for its various plants in the last three years alone.
Entrepreneur and NMWE president
The most recent acquisition is a turnkey canning line from KHS, on which mineral water is being filled into recyclable beverage cans for the very first time in the Czech Republic. Moreover, these are already made of around 70% recycled aluminum. “Our new, ultramodern system adds the final container category to our portfolio that has been lacking to date,” smiles executive president and company founder Alessandro Pasquale. “We can now supply the market for non-alcoholic beverages with all styles of beverage packaging. And we’re now also in the position to supply our home market with beverages from the licensed Pepsi portfolio more easily, whose canned products we previously had to bring in from outside the country.” Pasquale not only runs the family firm; he’s also the president of Natural Mineral Waters Europe or NMWE. In this capacity he not only wishes to make the Czech beverage industry circular and sustainable but also that of the entire European Union.
In addition to an Innofill Can C can filler with an output of up to 20,000 containers per hour, the new KHS line includes a palletizer and a depalletizer, a blending system, a tunnel pasteurizer and two shrink packers with and without trays. “All told, up to twelve different formats and a huge variety of products are processed on our machines,” says Lubomir Neubauer, area sales manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia at KHS. “We’ve thus configured the system so that it gives the customer maximum flexibility. The Innofill Can C especially that, unlike the high-performance Innofill Can DVD can filler most commonly used to date caters for the medium capacity range, is the perfect choice here.”
Protecting natural springs and cutting emissions
The bottling plant chiefly produces flavored mineral waters in the Mattoni Imuno, Essence, Multi, Black and Cedrata ranges, plus beverages from the Pepsi portfolio and by other licensed brands that previously also had to be imported to the Czech Republic from Poland, for example. In this respect, the new investment is also a mark of progress when it comes to sustainability – a principle that Mattoni 1873 has consistently committed to. Besides protecting its springs, whose crystal-clear purity is to be maintained for future generations, the beverage bottler is extremely intent on cutting its emissions. Over ten years ago, for example, it restored the railroad track originally built solely for the company and in doing so reconnected the Kyselka facility up to the Czech railroad network. Since then, up to 80,000 pallets of goods have been transported by freight train a year, with well over 20,000 journeys by truck in total saved as a result – good for both the environment and for the general situation on the roads.
In line with the credo of the boss, first and foremost the group focuses on circularity. “We’ve been aiming for full circularity of all of our beverage packaging for a long time now,” explains company spokeswoman Lutfia Volfová. “We use returnable glass bottles, for instance, and try to have our PET bottles and beverage cans recycled locally.” To this end, the bottler has founded the zálohujme.cz initiative that campaigns for the introduction of a nationwide deposit system and of which Volfová is also spokesperson. “This measure would facilitate and promote container recycling, with the majority of the resources needed for manufacture of the primary raw materials, such as energy and water, and carbon emissions being saved.” Just like PET, recycled aluminum can be also perfectly reused as a material for beverage packaging, believes Volfová. “Before it can be fed back into the loop, however, we need to ensure an efficient return system.” In this respect, the initiative still has a way to go; at the moment, in the Czech Republic only three out of ten cans are collected.
Shared story of success
Mattoni 1873 and KHS have shared a bond for over 30 years now; since the Pasquales took the helm at the start of the 1990s, plenty of new equipment has been ordered from the Dortmund systems supplier – from a stretch blow molder for the plant in Moravia through Kisters packers in South Bohemia and a CombiKeg line for Poděbradka mineral water from Central Bohemia to a bottle washing machine for the Pepsi bottling plant in Prague. For many years the two companies have also engaged in a regular close exchange of ideas and information on topics such as technological innovation, changes in consumer behavior, market developments and regulation.
Besides the trusting partnership between Mattoni 1873 and KHS and the positive response to comparable KHS reference projects on the market, the newcomer to the beverage can segment was primarily prompted to invest by the existence of a dedicated local KHS office, as Volfová states. “This allowed our specialists to actively communicate with the team at KHS on all levels at each phase in the project’s implementation. This was an extremely convincing argument for us – that our partners were able to react quickly and personally at all times without having to overcome any language barriers.” KHS’ local presence in the Czech Republic is assured by no fewer than 18 employees who are able to carry out layouting, installation and general commissioning, among other work, independently.
Including all additional costs for conversions, expansion of their warehousing capacity and various connections, Mattoni 1873 has spent more than €8.2 million on the new system that’s been up and running in three-shift operation since 2023. “The market significance in Central Europe and the group’s strong growth require that we further expand and modernize our production capacities. In the past three years we’ve concentrated most heavily on the roots of our company, the Karlovy Vary region and our plant in Kyselka, where the majority of our capital has been invested,” says Alessandro Pasquale.
