This political moment is kinda weird, where I am, calling my senator is one of the less useful things I can do politically, both are already correct and being widely thanked by the states population and also represent so many people that any individual constituant only really matters in aggregate, usually in important things calling my rep is a worthwhile, although the specific district I’m in is like comically safe for dems and so even that only moves the needles a little and rarely. They’re still both very good actions to take in the general case, and fuck this dude and I *have* called my senators to tell them that, but they are deeply diminished in their value by my particular circumstance.

#CA is a weird case politically is all #Mine is one of the districts with no GOP candidate for congressperson #And I'm gonna vote to the left of my guy just on principle but it's unlikely to happen and he's a pretty legit fallback #Just like in the senate I think the worst case is that we get Diane Feinstein again #and like she's not the ideal senator she's pretty solid on a lot of issues #There's still shit to do but one of the most common social media urging things is 'call your reps'#it's a good idea especially if you're in a state with an R senator and honestly fuck this piece of shit #But it's not particularly helpful in this particular geographic location
