Gorgeous opening Triple Toe. Tight on the Triple-Double. Popped that Sal into a Single. Nice Double Axel. Nice spin. Solid three-jump combo. Fall on the Triple Flip. Nice Double Axel. Nice spin. Nice step sequence. Nice choreo sequence. Nice spin.

Not a bad program from Minchae Kim of South Korea. A few mistakes here today, though.

i missed zhu yi :c sad about hongyi bc she really moves beautifully, hope to see her go clean with this program in the future.

minchae unfortunately rushed the program so she kept missing the musical accents which are so important for a tango. and as much as i love maddie, I do not like this program on her at all, why does she keep forcing this stiff smile, even in the bits of music where a smile isn't even appropriate?

xiangyi was wonderful, so musical and fluid, with greater skating skills with more speed she could go real far i think.

unfortunately i missed rion bc puppy had to poo, but happy she did well. how incredible is that dress!!

Thinking about it

I loved Seoyeong's Pride and Prejudice SP it was a very nice fit for her.

Maybe something classical ? Minchae Kim had a good Brahms program. Hungarian Rhapsody could be good for her. Schubert's Piano Trios is suitably dramatic and imho wouldn't require a lot of performance.

Thoughts: she was trying to hide it, but the poor dear was exhausted.

Mone Chiba(JPN)

Thoughts: I’m glad she had this showstopper of a dress. Because I think I was almost about to do a Karen Chen effect with her. Like her, just because everyone else seemed to like her. But now with that dress, I feel like I’m actually making my own decision to like her.

Afrina Diyanah(MAS)

Thoughts: the lights make her hair almost look purple. It’s stunning.

Stefania Yakoveleva(CYP)

Thoughts: I love this shade of pink on her.

Minchae Kim(KOR)

Thoughts: we do not allow two second spiral sequences in this house

Mone Chiba(JPN)

Thoughts: I’m starting to warm up to her. I’m not quite sure why it took so long, but let’s not focus on that.

Afrina Diyanah(MAS)

Thoughts: for a minute I thought it was just the camera angle. But I looked at her bio. She really is 5’9. That’s a rarity in figure skating. I’m also 5’9. Figure skating is like gymnastics. The majority of the girls are lighter and shorter. The amount of extra work it takes for the taller girls to make a go of light-body sports. I give her a lot of credit.

Stefania Yakoveleva(CYP)

Thoughts: sliding exits beat falling leaf exits every day of the week.

Minchae Kim(KOR)

Thoughts: eek, she had a rough day out there. But this outfit is exquisite.

Nuria Serrano(ESP)

Thoughts: her choregraphy seems to be very sex-focused. It takes some getting used to.

it seems like kim minchae has gained some confidence since skam :) such a nice exit from the 2a VERY happy for her. deserves slightly higher scoring

zhu yi should have gotten higher goe on those spins what the fuck. literally every other senior lady competing in the gp has had weird axis issues
