Disclaimer : My phone isn't the best and I wasn't very close. Plus I won't talk much about Def because idk them very well, so I apologize.

I need to check Def out more! They were super solid and entertaining. Rick is a true sweetheart and everybody cheered for him.

Billie kept saying "Thank you" after every song, like a true gentleman. The energy was over the roof when they play "Pour some Sugar on me" and "Rock of ages".

As someone who is not so familiar with them, it made me so happy to see many fans having the time of their lives. They totally gained a new fan in me.

It was an experience! Now, let's get the elephant put of the room: Vince wasn't the best and sometimes I had difficulty understanding his words. THAT SAID, I still think it's worth the experience. Look, especially if you live in Europe, you know how hard it is to find/ get tickets to see your favorite old men. I will forever cherish the atmosphere, the people screaming the lyrics around me, the fun, the loud music. So next time you want to complain about Vince, don't bubthe ticket and that's it. Still Vinnie was hilarious in being his usual sled and saying "shit" to refer to everything hahaha. Plus a shout out to the backup singers/ dancers, a part of me felt bad for the obvious objectification but hey, it's Crue!

Now we get to the best part: the dilf parade. Now, Mr Nikki Mother fucking Sixx, idk if it's because we are the place of your origins but OH BOY IF HE WAS LIKE FINE WINE

And speaking of Italy LOOK AT HIM WITH OUR FLAG. Porca troia, mi sento patriottica solo in questo momento aaaaa

Plus a shout out to the wonderful lady who got on stage. She had a live wire tattoo on her lower back and she was fine as hell. Nikki let her give him a kiss on the cheek and said:" Don't tell my wife"

And now, even more than Nikki, it was Mr Tommy fucking Lee who was SO LOVED HER ( come si dice qua "Era over come la Madonna"). This fucking dude single handedly gave us the best moment in history : HIM SAYING "TETTE". He was so happy after he said it, like a fucking kid! I want to post the video in a different post because it deserves its own.

And lastly: John. Tbh he seemed very cool, he played very well. You won't hear me talking shit about him, even if it stung a bit to read his name instead of Mick but it's not his fault.

So yes, if you are wondering whether you should go or not (taken from granted that you have the money to but the ticket) I would say yes: Def are great and Crue too. If you are afraid that "Vince might ruined it" I can guarantee you that there are tons of other factors that will make the experience great such as the music and meeting other Crue heads.

I know Louis' your fave so I hope it's okay that I send you this. But recently the blinkers have been coming off for me in regards to Louis. I think I used to have him up on a bit of a pedestal. I just thought he was this really intelligent guy, really aware of social issues and willing to fight for the right thing and be rebellious when necessary. I don't know. I saw things playing out very differently. But unfortunately, lately, I've been seeing a lot of laziness and complacency and a willingness to settle from him. A lot of contradictions as well. Like he gets the anarchist symbol tattooed but doesn't speak out or place his support behind anything substantial. I'm sorry, legalizing weed is his most political stance. And then being seen with the Starbucks cup and actually covering it in the video like lmao. Not knowing what number year your festival is when he supposedly had big dreams for it. I know this is so small but it irks me that he's been going on about playing the guitar for years. And he is yet to bring it on stage for even one song! I know it comes from a place of self-doubt and insecurity no matter how confident he makes himself appear but like he just doesn't help himself. And fans exaggerating and praising every little thing he does as if he isn't just some basic white man does my head in. Sorry I word vomited on you and I know this sounds harsh but I acknowledge it comes from a bitter place where I feel like his potential is just not being met. At the end it's his life and I genuinely hope he doesn't have many regrets later on.

I think I am completely in the same situation as you! I might not be triggered by exactly the same things but I’ve been going over and over it for the last couple days asking myself why I’m so annoyed with him right now?? And I think it really is just the disappointment finding out your fave man is after all, just a man.

Like, to me, it feels like he’s been stagnant since early 2023. right now, to me it feels like he’s just on the hunt for the cheap thrill, getting the validation in that he also can pull massive crowds of screaming girls just like he did during 1D (and it isn’t even the actual validation he’s looking for??? Like he still starts yapping every time a man validates him as if it’s so much more important??)

I feel like he lost focus, or energy, or both. You know, you said it!! You know I love Louis to death, he’s my favourite, and genuinely, I don’t blame him. It makes a lot of sense to me. He’s finally proven himself to not be a flop to all the people doubting him. He’s overcome all the obstacles, did LTWT and had massive success with it, way beyond anyone expected, rode that wave, made a second album that proved he’s not a one hit wonder either, an album he actually enjoyed making, and proved his fans liked it, too. And then… it just kind of stagnated. His team made mistakes and miscalculations. Announcing Asia tour so short notice thinking, then cancelling bc it didn’t sell out, handling the announcements horribly, not realising LTWT was massive bc of all the pent up excitement and desire throughout years of a pandemic, the magnetism of it being the first solo world tour. They also didn’t get it when it came to Milano Summer fest vs. AFHF. The 35k sold out bc it was announced many months in advance and it was the last LTWT show - that’s meaningful to fans. It was easily accessible. You can’t translate just the numbers to „it’s bc he’s popular in Italy,“ there’s so many factors at play they ignored, and therefore AFHF Italy only sold 2/3 of tickets, and a lot of these people didn’t even show up (couldn’t, I better say).

For me, FITF felt like he had checked out a little. He’s plateauing. The excitement and irresistible draw he has is largely due to his resilience, his underdog persona he created that allows normal people to identify with him. And there just wasn’t any… growth since early 2023. He‘s also alienated a large part of his fandom with the bbg pushes, and as you know, I still believe it was all part of the bigger plan to end it, but it does feel like he gave up, got comfortable. And it’s not that I blame him for it necessarily?? Like all he’s been through? It makes a lot of sense to me that now he’s achieved all the things people told him he wouldn’t be able to achieve, that now the burn out sets in, that now, the driving energy of spite and wanting to prove himself has run out.

I feel like the jokes of “oh I’m a pothead I can’t remember if it’s the third or fourth edition of my super duper important close to my heart festival project” or “oh yeah sometimes I forget I’m an actual parent and have a kid” are getting old. Like, it doesn’t serve him anymore it feels like? To me it feels like the weed was a coping mechanism that helped him get through hard times, and that’s completely valid, but now it looks like to me it’s holding him back, blurring his genius.

I’m sorry for the rant back to you. I’m deeply upset because Louis is my escape, my happy place, fandom is my comfort, and I feel like it’s slipping through my fingers because it causes me more upset than happiness at this point. The amount of “kill yourself�� messages I have gotten over criticising louis for announcing AFHF so short notice is frankly INSANE. Do people not talk to other people in real life?? How do the people around these people that send those messages deal with them in real life?? It’s so upsetting to see how many people feel comfortable typing out these kind of messages and sending them.

I do hope this feeling of mine calms down, and I can go back to just glorifying louis and have him as my comfort place, because I do not like the thoughts I have and the way it makes me feel.

things that happened this summer:

got a degree with honours

went to see baby metal and bring me the horizon @ nova rock festival with my friends which was a great experience, i cannot get over those concerts and the dances plus outfits

smoked a lot on the balcony while listening to deftones

got a job after three rounds of interviewing

had to purchase a new laptop which was a tough decision but so far it's good

went to budapest park to celebrate my friend's admission to uni, meanwhile i said goodbye to my five years spent at elte

went to Milano and visited Lake Como with my bf

threw a party with friends which turned out great, especially when we played 90s and 2000s pop songs

went to Lake Balaton for 4 days and spent disgusting amount of time drinking and smoking shisha again

downloaded new games and replayed life is strange

my friend and i have been planning to spend a few days together in my hometown so she slept at my place and had a chitchat night

reconnected with my childhood friend who i missed a lot after 6 years of radio silence, we've finally lost our toxic traits and we keep in touch from now on

went to bartok feszt, i'm sure i'll go next year as well

lightening round —

born and raised in washington dc. parents emigrated from turkey. father was a diplomat and mother still works as a translator/interpreter 

had a very strict and conservative upbringing. suffered abuse at the hands of a family member and was kept in silence about it

went to nyc for university and her first art project. the first exlorations into her art and ideas began with photography at music festivals, art directing for advertisements and magazines, and music videos

met her first partner and began a relationship with them during this time, even asked them to move back to washington dc with her when her time in nyc came to an end

the relationship always felt as though it were missing something and as though lena kept coming up short. when a new project came up and lena was to relocate for her work (to anchorage) she asked her partner to come with her and proposed. the no on both counts was devastating but she poured her pain into her work. plus it went along with the theme of her life

the move to anchorage was only meant to be temporary but lena ended up in a rebound relationship that fulfilled a void and she ended up staying even after her project was complete. making a home in anchorage and traveling when necessary

upon settling into anchorage, lena opened a book bar called the broken spine and has too much fun running it

as with anything else in her life relating to love, the rebound relationship eventually came to an end. leaving lena to stop making her work about heartbreak and push for something greater

a few of her projects/series have brought her international attention and acclaim. the first being, ‘i could not protect her’, a multimedia work, both her signature cinematic still photography along with a silent film detail her journey though abuse and the unchecked actions by the abuser. the next being her series titled “3ieb!” in arabic / “shame on me!” in english. a series that equally caused an uproar and gave voice to hundreds of thousands of middle eastern women all over the world

recently lena has been dipping her toe into video work once again, beginning to shift away from her decade long photography medium by publishing a book of a compilation of all her work. a little different from the music videos she’d produced in the past and her recent foray into short film, lena is interested in moving forward in long-form video work

the positive shift in her love life, experiencing real love for the first time without the usual toxicity she’d fallen into in the past and finally experiencing healthy love has also made a big difference
