⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀( living with Mike Schmidt )
— ★ Abby is his heart and soul. he knows if you’re a winner if she feels comfortable showing you her drawings.
— ★ i feel like American Idiot by Green Day is him and Abby getting ready for work/school. it’s a routine they built and can’t break out of it. so when you stay the night, you were shocked to see how quick they get out the house since Mike is always late to work.
— ★ if you can cook, you brought more meals on the menu and Mike can’t thank you enough. now, he doesn’t have to cook up some Chef Boyardee or order pizza. you were the only one they trusted in the kitchen.
— ★ weekly movie night was implemented on friday nights. you saw how much Abby and Mike were drifting away from each other so you took it upon yourself to make a movie night on fridays. the only problem is their choices. Abby would want to watch Coraline and Mike wanted to watch Megamind.
— ★ your first date was…something. Mike couldn’t really afford to go somewhere special so he found a recipe in one of the local libraries (the movie was set in like the 80s…) and cooked it up decent enough for it to be considered edible. (i’m joking, it was delicious) everything was good until—
“mike!” Abby yells from her bedroom. he was just in the middle of explaining something important to you, something he was passionate about. you could tell by the way he tried to hide his smile. but his sister comes first before anything. “Abby,” he whispers loud enough for only her to hear. “i thought i told you to keep quiet a bit. i have a date, remember?” she crosses her arms, “my tooth fell out.” “so? put it under your pillow and the tooth fairy will get it.” “that’s the thing! you told me that last time and i haven’t gotten five bucks! the tooth is still here!” shittttt. Mike sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “i’ll give you five plus more if you just keep quiet, okay?” Abby nods. “okay, good.” Mike starts to walk off before coming back. “how do i look?” he adjusts his collars. “like a million bucks.” Abby giggles, smiling, showing off her missing tooth. “sorry about that.” Mike clears his throat, sitting back at the dinner table. “no, no. that was actually cute.” you smile, you heart warmed by the brothers-sister relationship they had.
— ★ you help him sleep. now, he doesn’t need that bland nebraska poster, or that tape with nature sounds, or sleeping pills. he has you. and even the nights that you aren’t there, he would spray your favorite perfume on your pillow, hugging it close to you as if he were hugging you.
NSFW headcanons
— ★ he’s a switch. 50/50. i think his sex drive is normal if not low. he values romantic gestures than sexual gestures. but in the sex field, he’s both a giver and receiver.
— ★ let’s start with dom!mike. you’d mainly see dom!mike if it was a bad day at work or a long one. scenario; abby had been knocked out in her bed around bedtime. you technically had the house to yourself as you waited for mike to get home. finally, you hear a car pull in and the engine turn off. you could sense that it was him. you were expected a cuddle session until you both fell asleep. not you being bent over the couch, his fingers in your mouth to hush the moans escaping from your lips, fucking you like a rabid dog.
— ★ on the sub aspect, you have a whiny baby on your hands. begging and whining for you to let him cum. he pinky swears he’ll be a good boy. he whines, groans, begs. all of that. he begs so much that you have to put a hand on his mouth so he won’t wake up abby sometimes. if he’s pissed you off, you’d punish him by riding him but not letting him touch you and edging him so much that tears form at the waterline.
— ★ munch. munch! MUNCH!!! when he’s stuffed in between your thighs, he humps the edge of the bed, cumming in his pants. he’s too ashamed to let you know. he thinks it’s sick. he’s getting off by the taste of you, your sounds, and your juices dripping down his chin.

CH10. Cheque, Please! | The Menu [2.2K] Eddie Munson x shy fem!reader: a line cook au.
ONE YEAR LATER
The diner was packed.
Tables were full, the large room a buzz of chatter and music, the speakers playing an old sixties bop. It was a familiar sight, one that happened more often than not since Jim sold the diner. The new owner ripped the place apart, down to its old bones before he put his life savings into it.
New floors, new tables and chairs, artwork on the walls that were signed by Argyle, a photo of the whole staff taken and framed by Jonathan, Jim Hopper at the forefront, a wide smile on his face on the last day before his retirement. The bulbs in the neon sign outside had been replaced so it no longer flickered, the green and blue glow of it now announcing the diner’s new name, proud and bright for everyone to see.
Eddie’s Slice Of Chicago.
“Door! Behind!” You yelled out as you entered the kitchen empty plates piled high in your arms and Jonathan took them from you with practised ease.
Steve was on the grill, still hesitant and not as fast as Argyle, but he was flipping burgers quicker than he had last week. His chef whites were brand new, his name badge shiny and his front of house position taken over by Nancy. Everyone was in new uniforms, freshly pressed and a sage green, aprons still without stains and a pocketful of pens that didn’t run out of ink too quickly. Robin was taking orders, laughing with a family from out of town, letting their toddler grab at her finger as she promised them to return soon with their pizzas and shakes. Dustin was helping Max run a large order to a table of backpackers, a border collie under the table at their feet, getting its ears scratched by the new start, Mike.
There was a sign on the staff notice board, up beside the employee of the month, a piece of ripped paper with the words “SIXTY FOUR DAYS SINCE THE LAST FREEZER BREAKDOWN.” The rest of the space was filled with staff photos, polaroids and prints of the group at a fourth of July picnic, a barbecue at Jim’s in the summer, huddled around the kitchens countertops in the winter, drinking from mugs filled with Argyle’s homemade horchata, the frame that held Billy’s scrawled termination letter, an old napkin that held a small conversation in pen.
It felt more like home than ever. Even when Eddie wasn’t there.
Everyone answered to you in his absence, unofficially in charge when the boss wasn’t here. It had taken some getting used to, hell, you’d even tried to pawn off the responsibility to Nancy, or Steve, anyone who’d been at the grill longer than you had. But Nancy was part time, back at college during the week, taking Robin on dates in the evenings and Steve was too busy being trained as a new prep chef to worry about invoices and deliveries.
So you stepped into the role cautiously, softening to the idea when Eddie kissed you something fierce and told you that there wasn’t anyone else he trusted to do the job. His acceptance letter had come the month after taking over the diner. A thick, white envelope that lay heavy on your doormat because he’d finally moved in, sharing your small apartment with you like he did everything else.
Clothes. Jewellery. Books. Records. Food. Kisses.
Vincennes University offered Eddie the chance to do what he hadn’t been able to before. Refining his craft, learning new skills, working in a state of the art kitchen with equipment he’d come home and gush to you about. The diner was doing well enough that tuition wasn’t a worry anymore and suddenly, the long commute into Indianapolis for classes four days a week seemed worth it. Eddie was passing with flying colours, receiving accolades and opportunities at every given moment and when he came home, exhausted but happy, he came home to you.
Bone tired, he’d slip into the apartment, socked feet padding gently over the floorboards, Tupperware full of something delicious to be stacked in the fridge. He’d find you curled up somewhere, a black cat called Basil in the nook of your bent legs. He’d kiss you sweet, he’d kiss you soft, warming you up to a simmer until you forgot how much you’d missed him that day.
It was all worth it.
“Table eighteen wants extra hash browns and booth six needs two pepperoni’s and the Hawkins special, chefs,” you called to Steve as you slapped the orders onto the bar.
“Got it,” Steve and Argyle called back, one a little more nervously than the other but it was okay, ‘cause Eddie was home soon.
Eddie was home soon.
He’d called from a pay phone outside of the school, voice buzzing with excitement, with pride, and yours mirrored his back. He’d be on the train soon, he’d meet you at the apartment, if you could get away early. So you handed your keys to Nancy and she grinned, knowing there was a cause for celebration waiting at home for you. You drove Eddie’s van back along the road, coming into town on the familiar stretch, passing Wayne’s, the trailer park you both visited every Sunday for dinner.
The apartment door was unlocked, dimly lit in the early fall gloom, already smelling like garlic and tomatoes, like fresh bread and the scent of Eddie cologne that lingered on his jacket that hung in the hallway. Eddie’s records were in the shelves by your books, his guitar hanging from a hook in the tiny office room, his shoes on the bench by the door. He’d transformed your kitchen when he’d moved in, a decision that had been all too easy to make. There were pots and pans hanging from the rack, shiny, sharp knives that he was scared of you using without him there, jars and tubs of ingredients stacked high in the fridge and the pantry. There were fresh herbs in planters on the window sill. The radio always played.
The kitchen always felt like the heart of the home.
That’s where you found Eddie, sweater sleeves rolled up and grinning at you from the stove top, a large spoon in hand as he mixed in some fresh rosemary to the pot of sauce. He greeted you with a glass of wine, the cheap stuff that you liked best, catching you in a kiss before you could bring the cup to your lips.
He kissed you soft, kissed you sweet, humming when you laughed into his mouth, his free hand slipping inside of your shirt to ghost his fingers over your ribs.
“Hi,” you whispered. You’d never tire of this. This warmth, this kind of greeting, this feeling of coming home. “Good day?”
Eddie nodded, stealing another kiss, catching the corner of your mouth. He gazed at you, eyes shining with excitement and you could practically feel the buzz in his bones for what he was about to say.
“I got it.”
You blinked, once, before your smile turned into a grin and it stretched wide. You barely had the common sense to place your wine on the countertop before you launched yourself at the boy, your arms wound round his neck as your crushed your face into his curls. Eddie whooped, a joyful thing as he lifted you off your feet and grinned against your throat.
“You got it,” you whispered back to him, everything in you frilled with awe and pride.
“I got it,” he repeated again. His voice sounded thick.
The internship with Chef Emmelie was something that everyone in Eddie’s class was vying for. Eddie had spent an insane amount of time on his application, using you as his own personal taste tester in both work and home. New recipes were concocted, old dishes were reworked and it had all paid off. Eddie had been hand picked to work alongside one of the country’s greats, assisting in setting up a new restaurant, a fine dining establishment that promised to deliver nothing but the best cuisine to the masses. Eddie would help create the menu, and hopefully, maybe, eventually, take over as head chef.
It was another level of surreal.
“I knew you would,” you mumbled into his neck, pulling back only to crush Eddie’s cheeks in the palms of your hands and give him a kiss that ducked his breath away. His lips tasted salty, but perhaps that was your own tears you could taste. Eddie just held onto you tighter, his stew mix bubbling away without any attention. “Where is it? Have they told you where you’re setting up?”
You’d held Eddie’s hand as he clutched his application letter and promised him that no matter where they sent him, you’d follow. The only thing that tied you to Hawkins, was the boy and Basil was easy enough to smuggle into a cat carrier, once you could catch him. Wayne had squashed any hesitancy from Eddie immediately, waving him off and saying that there would be private jets for each of you once he hit the big time as the new celebrity chef. And of course, there was the diner.
Eddie laughed then, a breathy, disbelieving thing and he finally shuffled to settle you onto the small dining table that sat in the corner of the kitchen. He nudged his way in between your legs, sniffling when Basil appeared to wind around his own ankles and the only sounds were the purring of the cat and the simmering of dinner. You held your breath, brows raised, expectant.
London? Dubai? Paris? Los Angeles?
“They wanna set up in Chicago.”
—————
Going back to the city you left was a lot less daunting with Eddie by your side.
Wayne moved out of the trailer park and into your apartment, something that made leaving a little easier for Eddie. He still owned the diner, and promised to stop by at least a few times a month if scheduling around the new restaurant would allow. He’d found a new manager, a woman from town called Joyce who loved to bake and knew enough about taxes and accounting that she didn’t fuck up order and invoices. She loved the place like Eddie did, promised she’d do it proud.
(She met Jim on Sunday in summer and after she served him her famous cherry cheesecake, one date in the park had turned into three, into five and now they were inseparable. They spent most of their time walking around town, visiting farmers and Jim enjoyed his retirement by helping Joyce create new desserts for the diner.)
Eddie’s internship came with an apartment in the suburbs, a small townhouse that was far enough from the hustle of the city that you felt more at home than before. It was less bright, less loud and Basil had a garden to roam in, a bench beside a vegetable patch he could bathe in the sun from.
It had a pantry and old oak floors, a huge window that looked out onto the street that was lined with cherry trees, and a nook in the living room that you liked to read in. You found a job, pretty easily, a vintage bookstore on the edge of town that smelled like coffee and cinnamon, old pages and older stories. It was owned by an old man who let his dog sleep under the front desk, who brought in pastries for breakfast and made you sweet tea in the summer.
The restaurant opened in the spring. Hit headlines the following day, praising the special on the menu made by newcomer chef, Edward Munson. By the summer, the heat was climbing and so was Eddie’s popularity. He was running the restaurant, got to create a new menu every six weeks and the waitlist was booked out until Christmas. He told you he loved you every time you paid him a visit, on your lunch break, a whisper between a kiss hello and goodbye in the kitchen, coy whistles from his staff that he burned pink at.
And when you both drove back to Hawkins for long weekends and holiday stays, you crammed yourselves and Basil into your old apartment with Wayne, packed his freezer full of food and tried to convince him to take in one (maybe two) of the strays from the trailer park to keep him company.
You spent the Fourth of July with the diner crew, in the backyard of Jim and Joyce’s new home, sharing Polaroids and newspaper clippings of the restaurant, of your new home, Eddie’s menu. Steve was in awe but nothing could beat the look of pride on your boyfriend’s face when Steve told him he’d mastered a French omelette. Argyle was running the kitchen, Nancy had been promoted to assistant manager, part time or not, and Robin had helped Jonathan in running a Sunday morning coffee club, where Hawkins residents got to taste test new bean flavours over a pastry breakfast and some town gossip.
Eddie didn’t scowl much, not anymore.
And when you next bumped into Chrissy, you waved at her from under the tuck of Eddie’s arm, diamond ring glinting on your left hand in the sun. She didn’t have much to say to you, not after that.

The Calm After The Storm
[Mike Ross x Female!Reader]
Synopsis: A minor mishap sends a stressed out Mike over his breaking point, but thankfully, you're there to bring him right back down.
WC: 1624
Category: Mega Fluff, Slight Lime
It was about time that I wrote another Mike fic. Enjoy! (You best enjoy this @yoursacredqueenmother)
『••✎••』
Mike looked about ready to explode.
"Mike," you said quietly, reaching out to touch his arm. He was clenching and unclenching his fists at his sides. His breathing was coming out in short, shallow bursts. He was trying to look calm, but the way his lips pressed together and the tension in his jaw was a clear sign that he was not.
You weren't sure what was going to set him off. Maybe it was the stress of the case. Maybe it was the fact that Louis had him doing his dirty work again. Maybe it was a combination of the two.
But when he whirled on you, his blue eyes were dark. You had seen this side of him before, but it was only when Louis was being particularly nasty. It was a side that made him seem a little scary. You didn't think he would ever resort to violence, but the rage that was in his eyes now... you felt a shiver go up your spine.
"Of course, the night I planned to make dinner for you, we only have beer and cheese," he said, his voice rising. "I had a whole menu planned and then I get home and realize that my stupid, idiotic, asshole roommate ate all of the food."
"Hey, don't blame me because you don't know how to lock up the food," the aforementioned asshole said. Trevor was lounging on the couch, a beer in his hand and a half-eaten package of cheese next to him. He took another swig from his bottle and continued. "If you wanted something special, you should have hidden it from me."
That ticked Mike off even more. You saw him take a step forward, like he was going to pounce on Trevor and rip his head off, so you placed your hand on his chest. "Mike, hey, relax. It’s just food.”
"I wanted tonight to be special and then Louis decided to dump all his shit on me, causing me to be late a hour, and now when I come home to relax and make my meal. He devours it!"
"I'm a growing boy. I need sustenance."
"Trevor, you are such a—”
"Mike," you said a little louder, cutting him off. You put both hands on his chest, trying to calm him down. "Calm down, please."
He looked down at you, and his face softened. Some of the color faded from his cheeks, and his fists slowly relaxed. The tension in his jaw released, and his shoulders slumped a little.
"We'll just order pizza or something," you suggested.
"But I wanted tonight to be special," he muttered.
"It's already special," you assured him, smiling up at him.
He still seemed upset, but not quite as ready to murder Trevor. So, you pulled him by the tie, leading him towards the bedroom away from the prying eyes of Trevor — who personally, you thought to be a bit of an ass — and closed the door behind you.
You sat him down on the edge of the bed and crawled behind him to give his tense shoulders a massage. He leaned back into your hands with a sigh.
"Better?"
"A little."
You gave his shoulders a squeeze and placed a kiss at the top of his neck, near his hairline. Then another kiss right below his ear, which caused him to shiver.
"Now?"
"Mmm..."
You trailed kisses down his neck, then back up to his jaw. Your hands ran down his arms, squeezing lightly. His breathing was picking up, and you could feel him relaxing beneath your touch.
"I don’t think the fridge deserved that slam," you murmured against his skin. “You almost broke it in half."
He sighed again. “You’re right, I should’ve slammed Trevor’s head instead.
You let out a small laugh, and you kissed his temple. You moved your hands back up to his shoulders and pushed him down gently, so that his back was on the bed. He looked up at you, his eyes a bit brighter.
"So, Louis had you doing his dirty work, huh?" you asked, climbing onto the bed and straddling his waist. You slowly undid the knot in his tie, letting the silk slide between your fingers.
"Yeah. He always has me doing the boring stuff, and he never gives me credit for it."
"I thought you were technically Harvey's associate."
"I am, but Louis thinks he can order me around because he’s “in charge” of all the associates."
"Hmm, and then I suppose he blamed you for something you didn’t do?"
"Oh, you don’t know the half of it," he grumbled, his face hardening again. You ran your finger over his eyebrows, smoothing the crease between them, and his features relaxed once more.
"Well, you can worry about him tomorrow," you said, tossing the tie aside. You ran your hands over his chest, feeling the solid muscles beneath his shirt. He looked good in a suit, despite the tie he had chosen to wear today. Too tiny for his neck, but he looked handsome, nonetheless.
“I still can’t believe you wanted to make me dinner tonight, though," you teased, grinning down at him. "What's the occasion? It's not my birthday."
"No, but you told me a while back that you missed the home cooked meals back home. So I was going to make dinner, but now there's no food, so I can't, so now I'm a disappointment and a failure… again."
"First of all,” You reached out and smacked him lightly on the arm. He looked up at you in confusion.
"That's for blaming yourself. What did I tell you about doing that?"
"Blame the other guy?"
"No. Now, what did I tell you the last time you started blaming yourself for things?"
He sighed. "That it was okay and I'm human and it's perfectly normal to make mistakes, but I have to learn to not let them get the better of me and to focus on the future."
"Exactly. Now, secondly..."
You leaned down and captured his lips in a slow, gentle kiss. He lifted his hands and placed them on either side of your neck, deepening the kiss. His lips were soft against yours, and you smiled against him.
You pulled away slightly and leaned your forehead against his. "Secondly, when did I say that? I don’t remember talking about that.
"September 13th, around 4 o'clock in the afternoon. We were walking to the museum you wanted to visit, and we stopped to get hot chocolate."
"I—” You sat up, your brow furrowed. You stared down at him, wondering if he was joking, but he looked completely serious.
You knew his photographic memory was amazing, as he bragged about it constantly, but to have him remember a conversation like that so vividly and precisely? And on top of that, to have it stuck in his mind because it was important to you? You felt a surge of affection for him, and your heart swelled.
Mike noticed your look, and his cheeks colored. "What?"
A smile slowly grew on your face, and you shook your head. "You're so sweet."
"Well, I'm not exactly a piece of candy," he joked. "Unless you count Sour Patch Kids, in which case, I'm like, super sour."
"You are not sour," you said, laughing. "You're the sweetest person I know."
"Sweet like cotton candy or sweet like apple pie?"
"Hmm," you pretended to think, placing a finger on your chin. You were trying not to laugh, but the twinkle in his eye was making it hard. "Probably more like apple pie. Sweet enough without the cavities."
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away… well, technically, it would be dentist in this case, but still—"
You cut him off with a kiss, and he pulled you down onto his chest. Your noses bumped together, causing you to both giggle, but it quickly turned into a heated exchange of tongues. You were both breathing heavily, and you could feel the blood rushing through your body, making you feel flushed and hot.
Your hands were on either side of his face, your thumbs rubbing circles into his skin, while his were roaming all over your body, feeling the curve of your back, the slope of your neck, and the softness of your hair. He slid one hand underneath your shirt, and his fingers left a trail of goosebumps as they traveled up your stomach.
He broke the kiss and moved his lips to your neck, where he began nibbling and sucking on the sensitive skin there. You let out a soft moan, and you could feel him smile against you.
He rolled the two of you over, so that he was hovering over you. Those blue eyes stared into yours, and you smiled. His mouth curved up into a smirk, and you thought he’d pull your shirt off or start undoing his belt buckle.
But he did neither. Instead, he leaned close to your ear and whispered,
“Want to skip dinner and order dessert instead?"
You giggled, wrapping your arms around his neck. "Depends on what you're ordering."
"A Trevor free apartment for a few hours," he suggested, waggling his eyebrows. “Maybe some fried Oreos on the side?
You smirked as he pushed your hair back. His hand caressed the side of your face, and his thumb ran across your bottom lip.
"How about an appetizer before we get started on dessert?"
"That's my favorite part," he breathed, lowering his head towards yours. His lips brushed yours, and you closed your eyes, savoring the feeling.
Trevor was definitely an ass, but his eating habits sure did have a silver lining.
And, oh, was it delicious.

The cord from the console travels up to the remotes onto their hands. The gang of teens sloppily lying on the couch with legs hanging above the top of the couch. Fanning themselves from the summer heat and humid home. Yelling curses at the TV screen and tugging on the cord here and there.
"Donkey Kong reminds me of her," Simon said softly upside down off of the chair. Strands of hair fell past his ears. A pout on his lips looking like a kicked-over puppy.
"Everything reminds you of her." Micheal scoffs rolling his eyes while pressing on the buttons of the controller.
"Who's this 'her'?" Robin asked, lifting herself by her elbows on the chair. Curiosity and jealousy slowly ticking away at her mind. Who is her? Is she pretty? Does she wanna be her or date her? Will she be replaced? Will she have a new girl bestie? All these thoughts make her head stuffy.
"We met this girl at Mike's dad's work. Mike beat her high score in a video game and turns out she works there." Jeremy said, looking back and forth from the screen and to Robin. Recalling the poisonous perfume, pineapple, and honeysuckle lingers with him.
"Oh really? Shouldn't she be doing her job instead of playing on the arcade machines?" Robin asked, swiveling her head. All of them turned her way. Not letting her feel the way she wants to. But if the boys like this new girl so much then why can't she go along with it? Nothing will happen, it's just a hot chick.
"Hey! You leave her alone!" Simon said, flipping right side up. Dramatically waving his hand out like a sword horizontally while holding the controller with the other hand. Aaron passed him into the pixelated hell of Mario Kart, he let out a "Ha! Passed you!" Simon let out a "Damn it!" He jumps in his seat and turns back to the game with both hands on the controller.
"My dad said she's his and Henry's head engineer. She goes around doing whatever they want. She'll repair stuff, build stuff, and help around in any departments that need fixing." Michael explained twiddling a cigarette between his fingers. Takes another puff and breathes it in deeply, seconds later letting out a puff of smoke. Don't do drugs kids. Smoking gets you holes in your throat. That's what his mom always said. If his mom saw what he was doing right now, he would get lectured for hours.
"How did she get that high of a job offer?" Jeremy asked curiously, bouncing his leg up and down quickly.
"The girl is friends with Henry or something. He offered her the job." Michael said not pulling his eyes away from the screen with the bright colors and loud noises. How can a young woman be friends with an older man? I guess it's not uncommon, just so out of the blue.
"We'll go there again, you can meet her Robs. You can tell her about all the good stuff about us! Impress her about us!" Alejandro said, turning to her and pointing to her half-jokingly. Simon nodded quickly while looking at her with a big dopey grin.
"Depends if she's hot, I might have to steal her from you." Robin jokes with a sly smirk getting panicked noises out of the two boys. She giggled but deep down she had a tight burning feeling in her chest.
-----
Pushing open the doors, the group walked through. All excitedly looking back at each other and looking around while Robin was grumpy coming in last. With the growl of Simon's stomach, they snagged an empty table. Wiping the trash and muck onto the floor, some workers saw this from afar and gritted their teeth. One of them broke the broom in half.
"Let's get a pepperoni pizza, make it large. That's 4 bucks. I got 2 on me." Alejandro said, looking through the menu and pulling out the money.
"I have another 2, it will be enough... Simon put your quarters away." Jeremy pulled out his money and looked at the other boy disappointedly. He slowly edged his coins off of the table and into his wallet sadly. The waitress came around and took the order on her notepad, walking off to the kitchen.
"I could've just got us free food. You know that right?" Michael said, smirking giddy. The table 'ooh'ed' in realization and cursed, he laughed at their stupidity. Of course, the boss's son would have all the benefits. They knew this. But in all the excitement they got lost in what they were doing.
"Okay, so what's the plan?" Robin asked, putting her elbows on the table. Peaking over her shoulder to find any hot chick. Accusing random pretty girls of being the girl they were talking about. She was so on edge, so nervous. Her whole friendship might change with the boys. Their group was just fine as is! Ugh, the faster it's done with the less she has to worry.
"We'll eat then go to the arcade, I overheard Henry saying how she is always there if she isn't working or she's in the office with my dad or him," Michael explained. It was weird to him, they were all so close in their little work relationship. But after meeting her family and seeing how she is. He got a grasp on it was more than just a work relationship. (Y/n) told him her hours beforehand and what she does around her job. Though he didn't want to look like a dork in front of the guys. Especially after the first time they met and got into a little rivalry.
Right then and there, the waitress came back put the pizza on the table, and Alejandro handed her the money. Everyone grabbed a slice and started to dig in. Cheese stringing attached to the leftover slices and brown crust around the pepperoni's. Mmm~
"I don't know how long I can last eating this pizza every day," Jeremy said, lifting it and watching the cheese fall from it.
"Every day? How are you guys not dead yet?" Robin asked, licking her fingers at the cheese and grease. Looking at the grease on the napkins. Their stomachs must be butchered. The lengths they go to... jeez!
"Simon and Alejandro like to come here to see the girl we're gonna have you meet," Michael says while chewing. This aggravated something within Robin. What was so special about this girl? That question has been plaguing her mind for days.
Throwing crusts, napkins, and other junk they had on the pizza tray. The money on the side is stacked nicely. Jeremy pushed everybody's seat in and followed them to the arcade. Simon pulled out his coins, giving five to each person. Q*bert's game title screen was bouncing with fun. Robin put in her coin and clicked the buttons. The guys watching over her shoulder. Jumping on the green squares of the pyramid avoiding the purple snakes. However, the further she got, she had failed to an enemy that was surrounded by every corner and got the game over. Jeremy took Robin's place and pressed his coin in halfway.
"Hey, (Y/n)!" Michael waved to her while leaning on the arcade game. He felt like he had the higher leverage after calling her almost every night. Elizabeth always made kissy noises from the hallway when he was on the phone. The result? Michael throws a pillow in her face.
Everyone's heads turned to the person working on a Pac-Man machine to get out some kid's stolen game tokens. She perked her head up shaking her head with a smile. Grabbed the tokens out of the machine and poured them into the kid's hand. He ran away from Pac-Man to find a game that works. She looked back at them getting up from her knees. The group walked over to (Y/n). She noticed Robin first, and curiosity formed. A deep admiration. She was pretty! Hiding her blush from looking at Robin with a melting smile.
"This is Robin Wilson, this is (Y/n) (L/n)." Jeremy introduced the two stutters in his words yet going between the both of them. (Y/n) nodded smiling softly and held her hand out, Robin mugged her and then looked away. She was confused by the passive aggression but didn't let it get to her, shaking it off
"So what are you doing? Still working?" Alejandro asked, Robin came to his side glaring at her. An excitement forming. His friend and his dream girl were finally meeting. It didn't feel normal to not take Robin with them. But she had a reason. She was on vacation with her family.
"Right now I'm done for today. If you guys want to do something?" (Y/n) asked, looking at her invisible watch and shrugging her shoulders. Sure, Henry wouldn't mind. He encourages her to make friends her age. As much as he loves her, he doesn't wanna be her only friend. William on the other hand... doesn't mind her following him around like a puppy. He'll just never admit it out loud.
"Yeah, we can go to Sparky's diner. I haven't been there in forever." Jeremy suggested tapping his fingers on the big video game machine. She nodded and left to the back to clock out and get changed out of the engineer jumpsuit uniform.
The bell jingled on the door as they left, walking down the sunny streets. A family restaurant, Eliot's in the shopping center full of cornered restaurants and different food shops. Full of boyish antics and heels tapping against the pavement. Simon walks next to (Y/n) trying to impress her by showing off volleyball stories from school. he was the team's spiker. Simon would renact the plays and sounds he did from his games. Even though he thinks he was being cool it was dorky. (Y/n) couldn't help but laugh at the display. Michael not too far off of her side rolled his eyes. Shaking his head like a disappointed mother. Though he felt something sting within him, he didn't act on it. The beautiful smile on (Y/n)'s lips showing her pearly whites was enough to make it fade away.
Robin looked back not having any of it. A nasty scowl appears on her face. Her sight darts over to Micheal. He gives her a small smile. Robin waves her finger in a motion signifying him to come to her. A little confused he strides up to her side leaving (Y/n)'s. All she has to do is keep the boys away from (Y/n) and everything will be the same. She was going to do that for as long as she could without being caught. A bell rings at the top of the doors.
"Hi! Table for six?" A waiter comes up holding menus. Nods and yeses were quick to answer. They followed the waiter down to a large table right by the window. The waiter leaving the menus on the table leaves politely.
"Uh, we're missing one more menu." Alejandro pointed out seeing as Jeremy doesn't have one. He was internally panicking from social anxiety letting his hair cover his eyes. Rubbing his hands on his pants.
"Here, we can share." (Y/n) offered putting her menu in between the two of them. Jeremy blushes to his ears just by the feeling of her shoulder against his. He lets out a small 'thank you.' The corners of Robin's mouth twitch in annoyance. 'What the hell is her problem? She would've stepped in to help him. She was literally about to give him her menu. Is (Y/n) trying to take him when he needs help? What's next? His free will?' Her thoughts rang out. Soon enough, the waiter came back to take drink orders. Everyone has a certain order. You can tell it gave the waiter a headache.
"Robs, how was vacation?" Simon asked, leaning over the table. She didn't even realize that they were talking. Snapping out of her annoyed trance.
"It was really fun! A little too hot for my liking. Though there were pretty beaches and sunsets. There were so many people on the beach. I brought souvenirs! They're back at my house." Robin explained looking through her menu. Michael and Simon feel excitement in their guts at having a little gift.
"Where did you visit?" (Y/n) asked politely. They were all talking so casually, that she wasn't up to date on what was happening recently. Feeling a little out of place, this group has known each other much longer than she has. (Y/n) was a little intimidated by the familiarity.
"San Diego, it's in California," Robin said, talking to (Y/n) as if she was stupid. She was annoyed to hear her voice. To Robin, it sounded like nails on a chalkboard. All she could do was stare at her and not look away. Seemingly disgusted and annoyed.
"Oh, that's cool!" (Y/n) said enthusiastically. The conversation changed its course after its awkward encounter. The silence between the two was deafening and uncomfortable. (Y/n) fidgeted with the dog tag around her neck then scratched at her hair and bit her bottom lip before letting them go.
Eventually, the drinks came in waters, lemonades, Shirley Temple, and rootbeers. Simon downed his drink as soon as he got it. It was never known whether it was because he was thirsty or wanted to have fun. The boys started chanting "Chug! Chug! Chug!" (Y/n) rolled her eyes playfully at the group. Robin looked down at her lap sipping her drink, uncharastically quiet. She was trying to ignore (Y/n)'s happiness. Simon let out an atomic burp.
"Dude that's gross!"
"Come on we're public!" Alejandro pushed Simon's shoulder over the table, the two of them snickering. (Y/n) shook her head playfully disappointed by their boyish behavior. Meanwhile, Robin was fuming, if this was a cartoon she would have steam coming out through her ears.
-----
Everybody was eating and enjoying their food. Simon was talking with his mouth full and Michael was encouraging him, laughing at his disgustingness. Robin reached over to take a bite of Jeremy's food with her fork. he smiled nervously and let her take a bite. Robin took a slow bite while looking at (Y/n) half-liddedly. As if she did something. (Y/n) blinked at her confusedly and went back to picking at her food for the good stuff.
Michael reached over grabbing a fry off of (Y/n)'s plate. She shot him a look, throwing one of her eyebrows up smirking. He ate the fry in front of her. Robin rolled her eyes at them, there was a burning feeling in her chest. The boys were chatting (Y/n) occasionally joining in. Robin learned to tune out her voice, her voice was so annoying. They were getting more rowdy by the minute, and people around the restaurant looked at them with annoyance. Teenagers in the diner weren't anything out of the ordinary. However, the girls weren't paying attention to them. Caught up in their tension. Simon playfully pushed Jeremy's shoulder knocking his arm into Robin's drink, spilling it on her shirt. She yelped, a dark stain was forming on her red plaid vest.
"Oh shit! Sorry, Robin! Here." Simon grabbed a handful of napkins for her. She yanked them out of his hands.
She groaned. "Ugh, it's fine." After a few pats, she settled on going to the bathroom. the boys stand up letting her pass them. She made a break for the bathroom. The two sat back down.
"I'm gonna go help her." (Y/n) said, Alejandro got up out of his seat letting her pass by him. She walked towards the bathroom. Robin stood in front of the mirror with a bunch of crumpled damp paper towels. Patting down the dark stain on her cute vest. She looked in the mirror, and (Y/n)'s reflection appeared.
"What do you want?" She said harshly. She went back to cleaning up the soda split on her. "I came to see if you needed help." (Y/n) eyed her shirt. Coming up towards her grabbing some paper towels from the dispenser.
"It's not that bad." (Y/n) Put a little water and soap onto the paper towels. Patting down Robin's vest. She grabbed her hand and yanked it away from her. "Stop it," Robin growled.
(Y/n) backed off, allowing Robin to use the paper towels she got for her. Why was she so mad at her? What did she do wrong? (Y/n) let these thoughts linger in her head. She was trying to be friendly and make a new friend this whole time. The group was new to her but the boys were welcoming. So why wasn't Robin like that? It plagued her to think that something was wrong with her.
"You ruined everything! I hope you are happy." Robin snapped at her. It felt like a stab in the back. (Y/n)'s chest became hollow. "What do you mean?" (Y/n) asked quietly. The other girl glared at her.
"It was perfect without you here. Then you came and messed everything up. All they do is talk about you! It's so fucking irritating. This wouldn't even be a problem if you would" Robin scolded. (Y/n) looked away from her. Everyone had their moments but this was humiliating. There was nothing she could do but listen to the venomous words leaving Robin's mouth. "Oh," Is all that (Y/n) could say. Robin left with her back to the table.

someone should really make a FNAF game that’s just Mike Afton after SL where he’s just having to deal with living as a decaying zombie man
like it’s just a goofy survival game where you have to get a job and go places like normal all while people go from thinking you’re a normal guy to gawking in horror at the purple freak buying bread and gum at the gas station
if you wanted to be nerdy you can say it takes place like before or during Pizza Sim where Mike has a paying job
and if you wanted to be EXTRA nerdy there can be a game mode in the menu that’s just the style of the Sit n Survive Scott Games

Hi!! Do you have any fav Jason Todd- centric fic recs?? I like your taste in Jason's hc and takes hehe
Needles or Pines by Lanternwisp.
Sometimes Little Reds walk the path of needles, forbidden forests are urban jungles, the Woodsmen don't make it in time and disobedient children get eaten by wolves. It's when the story doesn't have the decency to end there that things get complicated.
No One's Son by Lanternwisp.
When it's revealed to Gotham's underworld that Red Hood is the second Robin and without the Bat Clan's protection, it's not long before every gang, cartel and rogue he's pissed off has him in their crosshairs. It's almost as bad as the "family"'s determination to find him first.
"Maybe Mike had been right after all - Jason is a Gotham kid. A real one, assembled and built with dirt and blood and dark alleyways, and he can't be washed clean of what's him."
Ugly Organs by One_Step_Closer_To_Death.
Jason Todd’s love is a wretched and terrible thing to be on the receiving end of. His grief, on the other hand, is incapacitating.
"How do you say – I think when you held me last, your rib fused with mine, and my marrow now creates your blood, my heart beats in tandem with yours – bones of my bones and flesh of my flesh, brother."
Things That Make it Warm by One_Step_Closer_To_Death.
“I’m not ordering Hawaiian,” Jason says immediately as he pulls up the menu for the local pizza place. [...] “Not even if I say please?” “Fuck that.” Jason says, and orders Hawaiian anyway.
All Roofs of Uncertainty by Kieron_ODuibhir.
For all the blood on his hands, Red Hood was never just a villain. And Nightwing never gives up on family, not for good.
Reclaiming Innocence by MurtaghMorzanson.
Jason Todd was kidnapped at nine-years-old and given two options. Work for his keep, or be forced to to work for his keep.
When Everything's made to be Broken by WorkingChemestry.
Nobody knows Jason Todd, not really, but there are a few who know these three facts: Jason Todd is a comet—frozen, poisonous, gas and fragmented rock that burns and evaporates as it passes closer to the sun. Jason Todd is a dancer—spinning spinning spinning on shattered bones and slipping on the blood that soaks through his slippers. Jason Todd is laughter—red streaked giggles ringing like tinnitus in a roaring crescendo that drowns out even his own heartbeat.
And since I know you are into SamBucky (stalker-ish of me to be aware of, I know) here's my top 5;
Not the End but The Start Of All Things by Notcaycepollard.
They keep driving, for lack of anything better to do. A mission, Sam had said, and maybe that's true; maybe wherever they're headed is the way out, the way up.
Guard The Angel by Silentnun.
"但警惕心还是有的,他尝试性掀起一边眼皮,然后发现整个眼球都肿胀得厉害,太阳穴底下像藏了个不正常的兔子中士,一跃一跃,不得安息。"
A Couple Rebel Top Gun Pilots by Notcaycepollard.
That seems to be the thing that breaks the ice between them; Bucky's never really hung out with Sam before, past being jammed into a too-small car for six hours and then two uncomfortable months in a safehouse trying not to get on each other’s last nerve. [...] He doesn’t notice, is the thing; doesn’t notice how ever since Sam's slept on his couch that night, he’s been letting Bucky closer bit by bit. That, as Bucky’s been wondering about the boundaries and structures of friendship, Sam’s been drawing in.
"There are weeks where he and Sam don't talk, where Bucky realizes they've gone days and days without seeing each other, and it always makes him think of the interiority of Sam's life. All the people he must know who Bucky's never met, the friends he has that are just names in his mouth.
It leaves this strange ache in his chest.[...]And he remembers what it was like to pour himself into somebody, the boundaries of their life and his blurring until it’s difficult to find the edges."
Diving Blind by Yukla.
Sam's about to exit out of the page and nag at Sarah for becoming a gossip-rag-follower when a voice starts piping out of his phone’s speaker. “Breaking news on our favorite superhero couple,” says the host of the show, bright and plasticky under the studio lights. “That’s right, folks! We’ve got solid evidence that the Cap and Winter Soldier romance is real—” Sam’s finger slams down on the pause button. What, he thinks, the hell.
I want to Feel Your Hearlines by Notcaycepollard.
The first time he watches Sam fall asleep, they’re in the stupid tiny car on the autobahn. Bucky stares at the back of Sam’s head, ignores how cramped his legs are. Watches Sam’s head slowly sink back and sideways until it’s slumped into the gap between the seat and the window. If he triangulates between the wing and rear-view mirrors, Bucky can see Sam’s face, slack with sleep, mouth soft. He wants to look and he doesn’t. He doesn’t know Sam Wilson at all, knows only that he doesn’t trust Bucky - an accurate assessment of Bucky’s threat level, Bucky thinks - and that he does trust Steve (also accurate, although probably stupid). Sam looks vulnerable, like this.
“It's fine,” Bucky says again, and means, you're warm, and means, you make me want to be gentle, and means, touch me again like I'm a person. Like you can take comfort from me."
"They sleep, and they sleep, fitting together in every bed for months, breath mingling and heartbeats blurring together until Bucky thinks Sam must carry both their hearts in his own chest."

You are who you choose to be; Eddie Munson x reader
Well this is probably the first update of the new year idk but this idea's been buzzing around my head over the weekend and it took me just a couple of days to write it all down. Now awhile back someone mentioned a SKY HIGH AU! With Eddie Munson, now that got me thinking 'hell yeah I loved Sky High growing up and yeah I love the idea of him potentially being like Warren Peace with fire but then again, what if I took it another direction, and made him a waterbender/bloodbender'?
I won't give too much away you'll just have to read on to find out but here you guys go. Now some warnings since this is a MA style of super hero fics.
Warnings: swearing, bad parenting, kidnapping, mentions of r*pe (not on reader or any of the main cast of characters but it is mentioned so just heads up), some angst, and a bit of fluff.

Lunchtime at Hawkins Academy was always a hustle and bustle. Everyone in a rush to grab the first chocolate pudding cup or be the first in line to get their lunch and meet their friends. But when those students all have some type of super-power, you know there’s bound to be trouble.
Thankfully I managed to get my lunch just before the first wave of students got there (minus those with super speed or teleportation) and I was the first person to reserve our table. As more students came piling into the cafeteria I soon spotted the first group of my circle of friends. I waved them over and soon they came over.
“Hey (n/n) surprised to see you here first.” Said Robin.
“Hey when it’s double stuffed crust pizza day I’ve gotta be first. Or at least be after the speedsters and teleporters.” I told her.
“I hear yah, although I don’t understand how you can stomach all of that grease.” Said Vicki.
“I told you not to eat the double stuffed crust at Giovanni’s. You eat that bad pizza and it scars you from pizza forever.” I reprimanded her.
“I just don’t see how either of you can stomach dairy products or anything meat wise. Don’t you know that I’ve been half of those animals?” Robin lectured us.
“Yes Robin we know.” Who would’ve thought that being an animal shapeshifter would turn a person into a hardcore vegetarian. Even though Robin’s got this laid-back, snarky, sassy attitude, she can be pretty hardcore when it comes to vegetarian products needing to be enforced. Hell I remember last year how she and Steve nearly tore their friendship apart from their Meat vs. Veggies menu planner for the school lunches.
“I swear if I have to hear coach Boomer scream at me one more time, I’m not only gonna need some hearing aids by the time I graduate, but a titanium skeleton.” Steve said as he and Nancy soon came walking side by side.
“The coach on your case again, Harrington?” asked Robin as they sat down. Steve to Robin’s left while Nancy sat beside me.
“More than that. Think his last sonic boom he gave me made me throw my shoulder out. Probably gotta skip my next class just to go see the nurse.” He said rubbing his shoulder.
“So Nance, how’s your brother and his friends coming along so far?” I asked her.
“I’m told Mike, Dustin and Will got put into Hero Support while Lucas and Max were placed in the Hero class.”
“Damn, see this is why I hate the Hero vs Hero Support system of High school. Those boys have been together since preschool. And Max really got in with the guys when she joined them back when they were in 7th grade.” I said waving my spoon around before dipping it into my pudding cup and taking a big chunk of pudding into my mouth.
“Mike and Dustin don’t seem to really mind it. After all Mike still hasn’t really gotten his powers yet.”
“Still?” I asked incredulously and Nancy nodded.
“And I’ve tried working with Dustin’s powers but the glowing thing it-it—I’m sorry but it’s not a power. No matter how many times he says it is.” Steve said.
“Do you think we should offer them a place to sit here? At least for today?” I suggested.
“I wouldn’t worry about it. Seems your boy’s already heard the news and has offered a few spots at his round table.” Robin teased as she gestured behind us. A few tables over was what everyone deemed ‘The Mizfitz table’. A table where hero or sidekick could sit equally without the forced conformity being placed over them.
Running the table was one of the more infamous students known to Hawkin’s Academy, Eddie Munson. On the outside he may look mean and scary with his many tribal tattoos, his wild, unruly mane that he calls hair, or the many rings he sports on his fingers. But he’s one of the most powerful Water-benders this school has ever known.
I had seen for myself how when he was first placed in the Hero class, he actually managed to pull water from the air as well as from the plants that had been made by another student to create a water cloak (basically creating a barrier made of numerous tentacle-like arms). However it wasn’t his Waterbending skills that got people talking, but his heritage.
You see while most of the students here are either the sons and daughters of either two heroes, or one hero and civilian, Eddie Munson was the child of both a hero and a villain. His mother, before her passing in childbirth (or so I’m told), was known as Lunar Eclipse with the power to use the light of the Moon to push and pull the tides and bend water to her will. His father, however, that’s what marred Eddie Munson as a villain to everyone in Hawkins, and not just here in school.
His father’s name was Alan Munson aka The Puppetmaster. A man with the ability to control the water in another person’s body, enforcing his own will over theirs. He ran the town’s deep underground criminal ring and got away with nearly every trail until the one that my Father actually worked on. Thanks to him and his two partners, they were able to put Alan Munson away quadruple life sentences.
But even though it was my father’s ‘daytime job’ that put him away, the times I’ve interacted with Eddie were never hostile. In fact he seemed glad to be rid of his father. His uncle (who never got his powers) ended up raising Eddie after his father had been sent to jail. And Eddie has said that he’s never felt more happier than he’s been since being raised by his uncle.
And I also won’t deny that for the past few years I’ve been secretly harboring a crush on the ‘bad boy’ of Hawkin’s Academy.
“Really (Y/n)? I can’t understand why you’re falling for someone like him?” Steve asked as he ate his banana.
“Oh leave her alone Steve!” Robin shoved him. “Let our little (Y/n) fawn for her blood-bending bad boy.”
“He doesn’t blood-bend! He hates it when people assume he does!” I snapped at her. Everyone looked at me wide-eyed as I sat back down and felt my face burning up.
“Boy you’ve got it bad.” Nancy told me.
“Shut up! I just hate it when people judge him based on his bloodline. I mean hell Steve, just because you’re the son of The Commander and Jetstream didn’t mean that at first you were the humble idiot you are today.”
“Hey!”
“She is right. You were a douchebag back in the day before the whole Vecna thing happened our 3rd year.” Robin said.
“Yeah, and even when we were dating at the time all you talked about was yourself or which freshman you were going to give the first swirly to.” Nancy chimed up.
“Alright, alright yeesh. I know I was a real asshole back then. No need to rub it in.” Steve said as he went back to his banana.
“If you like him so much, why don’t you ask him out?” asked Vicki.
“I—I don’t think he’d ever want to go on a date with me.” I said fiddling with my pudding.
“Is it because of your dad putting his dad away?”
“Actually no, they talk pretty much anytime they cross each other. All on friendly terms, perhaps a bit too friendly.” Nancy teased as she poked me in the ribs to which I let out a squeak and punched her in the arm. She rubbed her arm and I said to Vicki.
“What I mean is, I don’t think I’m his type. I mean he actually has powers, I’m just a girl who can do acrobatic skills.”
“(Y/n), you’re the daughter of Daredevil—” Robin spoke but I interrupted her.
“Adopted daughter.”
“Details. My point is, Eddie is like the King of non-conformist. If he didn’t want to date you because of your lack of powers, then he’s a hypocrite. And that’s about the worst type of villain you can ask for. Well except for corporate, misogynistic pricks that try to force women who they should love or what they eat.” Vicki took her hand and gently squeezed it. Robin took a deep breath and rested her head onto Vicki’s shoulder and the two cuddled close to each other.
“Just think, that could be you and Eddie if you grow a pair and talk to him.” Said Nancy. I turned over towards the Mizfitz table and saw as Eddie was being his usual animated self and the guys all around him were laughing at whatever story he was spinning.
“How can he also be so adorable just by getting animated when telling a story?” Nancy and Vicki giggled at my statement while Robin and Steve rolled their eyes muttering lowly.
“Oh please.” I kept my eyes on Eddie and I swore for a brief moment I saw him look straight back at me and give me a wink to which I blushed and gave him a small wave.
By the end of the day it was now my last class and one of the other classes I shared with Eddie, Heroism Athletics. Today’s practice was the traditional ‘Save the Citizen’ where two people could either be Heroes or Villains and the heroes only had 2 minutes to stop their villains and save the citizen before they were killed.
So far the reigning Kings for the past three years were the Heroes Tommy Hagan and Billy Hargrove, however if you ask me those boys are far from what you would call ‘Heroes’. Steve used to hang with Tommy back in the day and Tommy practically poisoned Steve’s mind with arrogance and ego. But when Billy came along and knocked Steve as the ‘King of Hawkins Academy’, Tommy ditched Steve and teamed up with Billy.
And when it came to ‘Save the citizen’ those two did everything in the book to cheat. Even when someone would call out to Coach Boomer about an illegal move, he’s merely brush it aside unless the attack was directed towards him. Like before, Tommy and Billy were slaughtering the villains that were Mako and Bolin.
“Those brothers really do know how to bend Earth and Fire together.” Eddie’s voice soon came up beside me. I jumped at the sudden voice to which Eddie raised his hands in surrender, “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”
“No, no it’s-it’s okay. Yeah I was just lost in the match.”
“I get it. Now I’ve seen those brothers bounce back at the last second, hopefully they’ll knock those douchebags down a peg or three.”
“Yeah. God knows they deserve it. It’s not every day you see a horse with two rear-ends.” Eddie gawked and let out a laugh.
“Damn you’re brutal. Remind me to never get on your bad side.” We then watched as the brothers had been defeated and the citizen had been saved. Tommy slamming the mannequin down to the floor like she was a football and chest bumping with Billy as the students all cheered. I turned to see Mako help his little brother stand up and the two hobbled away. “Looks like a healing session is in order for Bolin before Hellfire tonight.”
“Hellfire? Is that your band name or something?”
“Actually yes it is. Since Jeff and Gareth moved out of the state, turns out Bolin plays a wicked drum solo and Mako’s not half bad on bass. We’ve got a gig coming up this Saturday. You should come see us.”
“Really? You’re inviting me?”
“Of course. I mean it’s not the Garden but gotta start somewhere right? Plus we do get a crowd. Of about five—drunks. At least with you you’d be sober.” I laughed as Coach Boomer announced.
“Alright, one last round before we clock out. Hargrove, Hagan, Heroes of Villains?”
“Heroes!” proclaimed Tommy.
“Why doesn’t that surprise me?” the coach muttered before saying in his normal loud tone, “Alright choose your villains.” The two of them looked at each other before announcing.
“Munson and (L/n).” My eyes widened as I turned to Eddie while Coach Boomer proclaimed.
“Alright, Munson, (L/n). Gear up!” Eddie and I stood up and we walked down towards the arena and put on the padding that was required for ‘Save the citizen’. Once we came out onto the arena, we saw as the two of them smirked maliciously at us.
“Let me handle Hargrove, Hagan is all yours.” Eddie told me. I turned to him and asked.
“You sure?” I remember how last year when Eddie and Billy fought against each other for a Hero vs. Villian exam, Billy nearly put Eddie into a coma. He nodded and told me.
“Trust me, you don’t wanna go against Hargrove.” He rubbed his shoulder from when I had actually heard Billy break the bone that held his left shoulder in place. “Plus, Tommy won’t expect what else you’ve been working on.” I softly grinned and we both turned to our Heroes as we stood side by side in first fighter’s stance.
“BEGIN!!” The clock began the countdown and the four of us charged at each other. Billy flew in the air and immediately fired his laser eyes towards Eddie but Eddie created water tentacles around his arms and quickly sprung out of the way leaving Tommy and I to meet each other head on.
Tommy Hagan was a weapons specialist. Like any good back-stabbing son of a bitch, he always seemed to have any type of small sharp weapons hidden within his person. Be it arrows, shurikens, small daggers and knives, and even flying ninja stars, Tommy is a force to be reckoned with, but when it comes to speed he’s not so good.
As he fired a few arrows toward me, I cartwheeled out of the way before doing a summersault and took out my dad’s old billy-clubs he had given to me on my 1st year here at school. A little bit of extra protection he called it, plus it was like having the infamous ‘Man without fear’ being there at my side. When he shot out five kunais in my direction, I used the billy clubs to block and redirect them before charging at him again but he shot out several more arrows in my direction.
Using the wall to my advantage, I leapt up and ran across and over it dodging any arrow that came my way before finally flipping gracefully right behind Tommy and finally got to use my secret move I had discovered at the end of last year.
Holding my hand in a snake-like position, I used my thumb, index and tall finger to jab Tommy right at the center of his shoulder which made his right arm go limp. Then using my proximal interphalangeal joint of both my hands, I jab them into the center of his lower back, shoulder blades and the section where his neck met his spine.
Tommy let out a pained grunt with each jab until he collapsed to the ground and snarled up at me.
“You’ll pay for that you bitch!”
“Consider that payback for what you did to Mako and Bolin earlier.” We then heard a loud boom and I saw as Billy had Eddie pinned to the floor of the gym, his hands squeezing his throat about to choke Eddie out. Eddie struggled to free himself but Billy’s enhanced strength was too much for him to handle on his own.
“You know the one way to stop me Munson, show them who you really are.” He sneered. As Eddie’s choked out gasps filled the stadium I quickly threw my billy-club which made a direct hit to Billy’s head and even made him bleed. He released Eddie as Eddie let out a series of hard coughs. Billy raised his hand to his head and once he saw the blood, his eyes glowed red at me. “You shouldn’t have done that, Princess.”
He then fired his laser eyes toward me but I summersaulted out of the way before racing up the walls once again. His laser beamed eyes trailed close behind me until I had no choice but to jump off and stand on top of one of the higher platforms in the arena. Billy flew up towards me and flew right through the platform obliterating it and sending me falling 9ft towards the ground. But with my billy-clubs I was able to shoot one of the clubs towards the railing and swing down to the ground.
Billy landed with a large thud creating a crater beneath him and he cracked his neck. He then roared as he charged at me but I flipped over him. Blinded by his rage, I used it to my advantage and toyed with him until I saw my shot and repeatedly stabbed my PIJ’s up his back until he collapsed to the ground.
“I’ve seen the hardcore vigilantes be better heroes than you, Hargrove.” Suddenly I felt myself going towards the wall and saw myself being pinned by the ends of my uniform by three shurikens. Tommy stood just a few feet in front of my and summoned out three more shurikens to sit between his fingers.
“I told you, you’d pay for that little trick.” He then threw his other arm outward and soon about a dozen arrows were heading my way. That’s when an ice wall appeared before me and blocked the arrows just before they could skewer me like a shish kabob. I looked to see Eddie had gotten back on his feet then he used the ice wall to create ice daggers and one by one fire them at Tommy allowing me time to pull the shuriken’s off my uniform and duck out of the way.
I took notice of the clock counting down and it seems to me that these two are pulling the same move as they did for Mako and Bolin. Trying to tire us out to they can finish us off at the final second then save the citizen. But what if we turned their tactic against them? I raced towards the citizen but was stopped by Billy’s powerful fire blast creating a firewall between me and the Citizen dangling closer and closer to the razor pit.
“You’re not going anywhere.” He snarled at me.
“I have no need, I’m just getting started. Or are you feeling a bit winded, coming from you I wouldn’t be surprised. And I thought you’d be better than your old man.” The one thing Billy Hargrove hated more than anything in this world was when someone made him feel inferior to his father. Billy let out a roar and fired two blue fire blasts from his hands to which Eddie surrounded us in an ice barrier.
“You’re really trying to push his buttons aren’t you?”
“Don’t you see, they’re trying to get us to tire out just so they can finish it all at the last second.”
“Like what they did to Mako and Bolin?” I nodded.
“Get us closer to the civilian, I’ve got an idea.” Eddie nodded then made us an escape route and allowed the water and Billy’s fire to create a large and powerful mist of fog. So thick that hardly anyone could see the front of their noses.
And thanks to dad’s training, I was able to help guide Eddie through the fog with ease. We got closer to the civilian’s imprisonment, I had Eddie create an ice platform right in front of the civilian’s chain then I told him to disband the fog. With a wave of his arms, the fog quickly diminished around us and Tommy cried out.
“THERE THEY ARE!!” Both he and Billy fired their attacks but we quickly got out of the way and Tommy’s arrows pieced the civilian mannequin while Billy’s fire broke the chain and sent the civilian down to their untimely death. Coach Boomer blew his whistle and proclaimed.
“Hargrove! Hagan! You two have not only failed to stop your villains but also skewered your civilian. You both FAAAIIILLLLLED!!” he sent his sonic boom sent them both flying across the gym. “The winners our first set of villains since 1986, Edward Munson and (Y/n) Murdock!” the class cheered as Eddie gave me a gentle nudge and we waved to the others.
At the end of the day my friends and I all gathered at my house for a celebration. Everyone including Eddie and the Mizfitz were all talking about mine and Eddie’s big win against Billy and Tommy.
“I seriously cannot believe you managed to knock my step-brother off his ass and finally put him in his place. I would’ve paid big money to have seen that.” Said Max as she reached over and ate some skittles.
“You guys really should’ve seen it. Her new ability is too cool that even Vecna himself would be petrified of.” Eddie praised.
“Eddie you’re too much. Besides it only works half the time. They still were somehow able to get up and use their powers again after a while. The first time I used it on some would-be robbers they could barely move.”
“You just need to keep working on it, after all you used it on normal humans. Not supers.” Robin told me.
“Yeah, yeah and the anatomy between the two is different, gotta find the right pressure points, blah, blah, blah.” I then heard the door open and the sound of a cane clanking along the wooden floors signaled to me that dad was home.
“Well this is a surprise. I come home after a long, hard-day’s work and find my daughter throwing a party without her old man’s permission.” The gang all turned to face my father but from the grin across his face, we knew he was just playing around.
“You’re hilarious.” I said sarcastically.
“If you think that, you should’ve seen me and your uncle Foggy in our college days. I was a riot.”
“Evening Mr. Murdock.” My friends all chorused out with a wave.
“Evening children. I take it from everyone being here in our small apartment that something big must’ve happened at school today.” He said as he took off his jacket and hung it over the coat-rack as well as placed his suitcase down beside it.
“You bet. Eddie and (Y/n) took victory at ‘Save the Citizen’!” exclaimed Dustin.
“Really? Last I heard of any new champions was when Hargrove and that kid Tommy became the champs. I take it you two were the villains in the scenario?”
“Yep. Not pissed about it are yah?” I asked with a hint of nervousness.
“You’d be surprised to know that I’ve played both Hero and Villain at Save the citizen in my time at school.” Dad said as he began to prep himself a sandwich. “Oh by the way Robin, about that meeting you had planned to take with our PA Karen, she’s unfortunately going to have to reschedule. A case has suddenly come up and she’s needed out of state for this matter.”
“Damnit! Now where am I going to find a PA to interview in two weeks?”
“I told you yah should’ve tried to interview her as early as possible.” I lectured in a sing-song tone before taking a bite out of a salsa-dipped chip.
“Isn’t there another PA, oh what’s her name uhh—” Steve snapped his fingers trying to remember the name.
“I believe you’re referring to Jessica Jones?” my dad piped in.
“That’s the one! What about her?”
“Steve, if you don’t know Jessica Jones, you’ll know she’s not the easiest person to talk to. The woman is so hardcore, not even the cruelest Russian forms of torture could break her.” Said Lucas.
“Jessica Jones has a past and certain things happened to her that is her right to not speak about to others.” My dad stated using his ‘lawyer tone’. “However Jones does owe me a favor, perhaps I could cash in that favor for you.”
“Seriously? Oh my god Mr. Murdock thank you! You’re amazing!”
“However I would take my daughter’s advice. Don’t hold things off till the last minute.” Suddenly the TV that we had on as background noise stopped playing the current show that was on and brought up the News Bulletin.
“We interrupt this program to bring you this urgent announcement. Earlier today, Former Crime Under-lord and infamous villain The Puppetmaster Alan Munson has escaped from his prison hold. 13 years ago Alan Munson was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences, possibility of parole after his third sentence. He was known as the Puppetmaster due to a rare ability known only to the Waterbenders known as blood-bending. Which may have been the aid he needed to escape his prison cell.”
As we all tuned out the news reporter, our attention turned to Eddie who looked unreadable but deep down I knew he was a mixture of emotions.
“Authorities have issued an urgent curfew until for the time being. No one is allowed out after sunset and must not be near any large bodies of water. Absolutely no one is to leave their homes after dark for this week a full moon arises, which is the only time Bloodbending can happen. If anyone has any news in regards to Alan Munson’s whereabouts, don’t hesitate to contact the local authorities.”
Yeah that wouldn’t really matter much anyway. While it is true that Bloodbending could only happen during a full moon, Eddie’s father was one of those rare diamonds in the rough that could actually bloodbend without the need of a full moon. That’s why he’s so dangerous and why everyone gives Eddie a hard time. People at the school believe he has his father’s unique ability as well and try to egg him on to use it just so they can ‘prove a point’ (whatever the hell that means).
“I think it’s time you kids started heading home.” My dad spoke in his ‘Daredevil’ voice. The guys all began packing their stuff and bid me goodbye, all except for Eddie who just remained still as a statue.
“Eddie?” I asked cautiously. Slowly I walked over to him and slowly reached out and touched his hand. He flinched back and looked at me, his eyes a mixture of rage and fear and he immediately said.
“I—I gotta go.” Without another word, he grabbed his stuff and raced out of the apartment. I turned to my dad and he looked in my general direction.
“Things are already hard on him as it is at school. Now that word’s gotten out about his dad escaping, people will really be on his ass now. What do I do daddy?” Dad sighed deeply and came over to me.
“Treat him as you always have. You and your friends are all he really has outside of his uncle.” I looked down solemnly but I felt my dad’s hand on my shoulder gently squeezing it comfortingly, “But if I’m honest, I think all he’ll really need is you.”
“Did you have to go and listen to his heart?” I asked accusingly.
“Not really, even a blind man can see just how in love you both are for one another.” I groaned as he softly chuckled. “I’m gonna be out late tonight, don’t wait up on me.”
“Do you have to?” I asked worriedly.
“The city’s gonna be in mass panic, especially for the non-supers in this city. All heroes and vigilantes are required to make finding The Puppetmaster their first priority.” I nodded solemnly.
“Just be careful. I know you’re one of the rare heroes that keeps both identities of Daredevil and Matt Murdock separate to your enemies, but I don’t wish to be an orphan a second time.” Dad took my hand and placed it on his chest, I could feel the steady beat of his heart as he said to me.
“I’ll do whatever it takes to come back to you.” This was a common thing between us ever since he adopted me and I found out about his ‘other job’. Most heroes tend to lie and say they are invisible and will come back no matter what.
However my dad isn’t like most heroes. He can’t fly, he doesn’t have super healing abilities, or super strength, not even control over the elements. All he is is a guy with enhanced senses that enables him to see the world even though all he sees is a ‘World on fire’. He’s been trained in almost every style of martial arts but it took him decades of training and he didn’t get it right away like most heroes would.
And growing up with a dad who always burdened himself with ‘protecting the city he loves’ it put a strain on us for a while. Until one day I got the courage to express to him my concerns and he didn’t reprimand me nor did I him. I just wanted him to know that I was scared that I was going to one day get the news of Daredevil found dead in dumpster and that once again I’ll be alone without a family.
So this was our vow. Since he taught me that there’s a spike in people’s hearts when they lie, whenever it came to uncertainty missions that required his attention, he’d place my hand over his heart as he’d speak that very phrase. And every time he said it, there was never a spike in his heart.
I hugged him as hard as I could burying my face into his chest. He rubbed my back and rocked me softly.
“I love you so much sweetheart.”
“I love you too daddy.” He kissed the crown of my head before finally separating from me and went over to his old wardrobe where his suit was kept. In an old trunk that once belonged to his dad who was a well-known boxer back in the day.
I was currently in my room having just finished the rest of my homework when I heard a soft knock at my door and there my dad stood in his full Daredevil suit. The red devil eyes from his mask had been known to send fear up even the darkest of criminals spines. His billy clubs rested in a holster at side of his left thigh.
“Be careful, Daredevil.” He gave me a nod and said.
“Lights out by ten, and make sure to brush your teeth.” I softly laughed.
“If only people could hear the infamous ‘Man without fear’ tell his adopted daughter to make sure she did her teeth and got to bed on time.” I couldn’t help but tease.
“Probably would make them even more afraid of me.” He teased back.
“Child labor at its finest.” I teased again as dad softly scoffed. He then used the fire escape and in his Daredevil fashion, he disappeared into the night and acrobatically scaled down the building before going on the hunt for the Puppetmaster. “Love you dad.” And so I was left to man down the fort until it was bedtime.
The next few days, as I had predicted, were chaotic at school. Due to the Heroes still not being able to find Eddie’s father, all after school activities were cancelled until further notice. Which meant not Starlight Flying, no track meets, not even gymnastics (which I’ll admit I am bummed about but I get why they’re doing it). And every student has had it out for Eddie.
Just the other day after the Big Championship game had to be cancelled between our rivalry school, Eddie got beans, mashed potatoes and chocolate pudding dumped on him by Jason and his lackies. Before he could even start something, I held him back and told him they weren’t worth it. They were trying to rile him up and get him to prove to them that he’s the monster they think he is.
And now all day today he’s been up on the rooftop gardens were Lily and the other earth-benders have their club meetings. Creating new plants and practicing their Earthbending. I found Dustin, Mike, Will and Lucas sitting outside their normal D&D room and asked them.
“Is Eddie still on the roof?”
“Gareth and Jeff just told us he’s refusing to ever come down. He didn’t even go home last night to his uncle.” Dustin told me. I looked up at the ceiling worriedly before sighing.
“You guys get on the next bus, I’ll talk to him.”
“You sure?” asked Mike.
“Yeah. Besides Nancy told me you three have a big midterm coming up so I suggest you study. First semester Midterms are no joke, especially to first years. No matter if you’re in Heroes class or Hero Support.”
“Good luck (Y/n).” Will said as they walked off to the bus ramp to get back down to the ground (yeah the academy is actually levitated high up in the sky). I went up the stair way that lead up to the gardens and there I saw Eddie bending the water within some vines, making them shift and move around the columns they were wrapped around.
“Do you have room for one more?” Eddie jumped and turned towards me but when he saw it was me, he calmed down and said.
“Knock yourself out.” I came over to him and sat down beside him on the bench he was sitting on. He continued his bending until he just stopped and was deep in his head again. I reached out and touched his hands, softly fingering around his rings and said.
“What’s going on up there Eddie?”
“My mother’s name doesn’t even matter. All anyone can see me is my old man’s son. The son of the infamous Puppetmaster. Believe me if I had the power to choose, I would’ve had my old man be a normal human who just ran out on me. But nope, I got the shortest end of the stick and no matter what I do, nothing I say or do is ever gonna change that!” his voice raised in anger as he paced while he ranted. “I don’t……Sometimes I just wish I had died alongside my mother. Or better yet never have been born. She should’ve gotten rid of me when she had the chance.”
“Stop! Don’t ever say that!” I snapped as I stood up.
“Oh c’mon (Y/n) we both know that it’s true! My mother was assaulted by him, I am a product of a rape. Who could ever love someone like that?” a single tear secretly fell down his face as he seethed that self-hatred line. “But since I’m too much of a coward to kill myself, I start to think fuck it. Why not just go down the path of a villain? Everyone else has decided that for me already.”
“Even though you have the power to go down that road, you’ll never take that step.”
“How do you know that?!”
“Because I know the real Eddie Munson. The boy who takes in the sidekicks who think they’re not worthy being in this school. The boy who spends his time feeding the stray cats at his trailer park, and not just them but the dogs you free from the underground dogfights. The boy who reads fantasy books and comes up with the wildest campaigns for his friends. That is the Eddie Munson I know.” And that’s the boy who I’ve always loved and will always love.
“What did you just say?” he suddenly asked.
“Do you really need me to repeat that whole rant I just did?”
“Just the last part.”
“That that’s the Eddie Munson I know.”
“After that.” After that? What’s he talking about?
“That you save dogs from underground dogfights.”
“No you said that in the middle after the stray cat feeding at my trailer park. I meant the very last thing you said.” The last thing I—oh god. Oooooh no…..please don’t tell me I actually verbally—oh shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Fuck! Fucking hell no! Please god don’t tell me that didn’t stay in a though bubble!
My thoughts were broken by Eddie cupping the side of my face, my eyes staring deeply into his chocolate brown ones.
“What did you say sweetheart?” I swallowed hardly as my heart began to skyrocket out of my chest and I choked out.
“I—I-I……” Eddie chuckled and said.
“You always were cute whenever you got flustered like this.”
“Are-are you making fun of me?”
“Not at all.” He brushed the strands of hair out of my eyes before slowly leaning forward and he whispered, “Just use your new little technique if you want me to stop.” I shook my head no and wrapped my arms around his neck and brought him down to my lips.
He let out a muffled grunt but his body soon relaxed under our kiss as his arms slowly wrapped around my back bringing me in close. Ever so slowly, my right leg raised up as I tightened my grip around Eddie’s neck and he deepened the kiss. I then felt him lift me off my feet as we continued to kiss one another until we were left breathless and drunk on our love.
We caught the last bus from the school and now Eddie was driving us back to his trailer for us to spend a little one on one time before the city curfew could ruin this perfect moment another second. Our hands were intertwined with the other’s and we refused to break that bond, at least not yet. Every now and then, he’d raise our hands up and kiss the back of my hand and I did the same to him.
But as we pulled up to his trailer, Eddie’s love-sick expression soon turned to dread as he looked upon his uncle’s trailer home. My expression grew fearful as I too saw what it looked like. It had been completely torn to shreds, the door was busted right off it’s hinges and the ground was soaked with mud and water. Eddie immediately raced inside and I followed after him.
The inside didn’t look much better. The furniture was turned up like the place had been burglarized, but nothing was taken. The curtains and blinds looked like they had been sliced up by something and there were occasional wet puddles on the inside of the floor and carpets. But what had us both fearful and enraged was that Eddie’s uncle is usually home by this time, but the trailer was like a graveyard, empty and silent.
Eddie slowly walked further in and grabbed an old picture of him and his uncle just shortly after he had been taken in my him after his father was imprisoned. I could see that the glass frame was completely cracked but I could also see Eddie’s body shaking with rage until he let out the most gut-wrenching, rageful, and mournful scream I had ever heard out of a man.
I took Eddie back to my apartment and gave him a cup of warm tea but he just sat there with a stoic, broken expression on his face. Tearstains glistened on his cheeks, his eyes bloodshot red. I sat down beside him and slowly wrapped my arms over him and I placed my head on his shoulder.
The door opened and in came my dad. But before he could greet us, he licked his lips and stood at attention. I knew he could taste the salt from our tears and he asked us.
“What happened?”
“It’s Wayne.” I told him somberly. My father’s brows raised in shock and he quickly came down over to us kneeling down before us.
“Are you both alright?”
“We—Wayne was already gone when we got there. The trailer was completely destroyed.” Dad let out deep sigh before kissing my forehead and turned toward Eddie.
“Eddie—”
“Another reason why I can’t stand heroes. They claim to be going day and night to finding my old man, and yet he hasn’t been caught. And now he has my uncle, the only person in this whole world that even gave a shit about me!” Eddie snarled lowly, hos body seething with rage and I knew dad could sense it a hell of a lot more than I could.
“I understand your frustrated…..” Eddie stood up from the couch and unleashed his fury.
“OF COURSE I’M FRUSTRATED!! My psychopathic bastard of a father escapes a prison that is supposedly impenetrable and made my life hell this past week! Now the one time I’m not there for my uncle he captures him and will most likely kill him and this WHOLE TIME THE HEROES ARENT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT WHILE I’M STUCK HERE AND YOU TWO CAN’T EVEN HELP ME!!” Dad and I stared at him in shock. His rageful expression softened as he realized just who he was talking to. He collapsed back down onto the couch beside me and said in a calmer, softer tone, “I—I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to snap.”
I took his hand in both of mine and gently kissed his knuckles and I told him.
“It’s alright. You’ve been piling up everything that’s happened this past week inside of you. You hardly scratched the surface earlier this afternoon.”
“But I shouldn’t have taken it out on you or your dad.” He said regretfully.
“She knows you didn’t really mean what you said. And neither do I.” my dad spoke up. Eddie let out a deep sigh and said.
“I’m just trying to understand why all of this is happening, and why now. But nothing makes any sense. And now—now that Wayne is involved I…..” tears once again filled his eyes as he buried his face into his hands, sniffling into his palms.
“Eddie,” my father started as he knelt down in front of him. He reached up and grasped his shoulder giving it a comforting squeeze as he continued, “I know you’re feeling lost and frustrated right now. And it’s alright to feel that way, everyone whether hero or normal civilian feels something like this every day. Even Daredevil himself once felt this way when the Kingpin forced him to choose between saving his friends or his child.”
That was a day I never hoped to remember, it reminded me so much of the first time I came across ‘The man without fear’ back when I was a child and my parents were killed in front of me and I was taken by child traffickers. They would’ve sold me to the highest bidder had Daredevil not found me in time.
After finding out I had lost both my parents and that I had no other family in the city to take care of me, I was taken to the orphanage and within a couple of weeks Matt Murdock came into my life and adopted me. And the rest was history. But when Fisk had found out about my father’s true identity, he had a villain named Bullseye take me and hold me hostage while apparently Foggy and Karen were being watched by the corrupt cops Fisk had under his belt ready to take them out.
“He—I can’t even begin to imagine what I would’ve done if that were me.” Eddie said as he took my dad’s story to heart.
“But he knew he couldn’t lose himself. He had to keep his calm and composure to try and work a way to save them both. And not only did he accomplish that, he also managed to put Fisk away for a long time with a proposition of his own.”
“Compared to my dad, Kingpin’s a saint. He won’t bargain anything or with anyone. How is anyone supposed to defeat him?”
“He’s been convicted and captured once before, not every villain is invincible. All it takes if for the right hero to stop him for good.” My dad stood up and walked over to the kitchen as he also told him, “Since your trailer is an active crime scene, you’re welcome to stay here. But I strictly advise you newly appointed lovebirds, no hanky-panky in this apartment. Don’t ask me how I’ll know, I just will.”
“Dad!” I groaned out. He smirked and started to prepare us dinner. After dinner Eddie and I sat on top of the roof looking out over the city. My arms wrapped around his right arm while my head rested on his shoulder. “We’ll find him Eddie, one way or another.”
“I swear if he even lays a hand on him I swear to fucking God I’ll—” I rubbed his arm soothingly trying to ease his anger.
“One thing you should know is that my dad always knows what to say. I know you’re pissed, your scared, you’re high-strung. But all this tense anxiety won’t do you any good. Take a deep breath and focus.” He took a deep breath in before exhaling. “I know we were too young when he was first arrested but, is there any place you think he’d take Wayne? Some place of meaning between the two of them?”
“I doubt it. They were never really close with one another even as kids. Even though Wayne was the older brother, since he never got his powers he was considered the black sheep of the family while my father was the prodigal son.” I nodded in understandment. “It’s getting late and the curfew is still in place. Why don’t you head inside?”
“You sure?” I asked.
“Yeah, plus I can practically feel your exhaustion.” I groaned quietly as I felt Eddie chuckle. “Go on sweetheart, I’ll be there in a bit.” I looked up at him and we both kissed each other.
“I love you so much.” I told him softly.
“I love you more.” He softly kissed my forehead before I stood up and got ready for bed after a long, confessional and stressful day.
*Eddie’s POV*
Just as (Y/n) got inside, ironically enough it started to rain. Of course to not people the rain was a nuisance especially to most heroes when it came to night patrols. But to me, rain was life and a relief. Mix that with the full moon that shone above the city I could feel myself feeling more alive than I’ve ever been in my entire life.
I realized at this point, I couldn’t wait any longer. If the heroes weren’t going to do anything to find my father, then I would. I went over to my van and grabbed a special bag that not even (Y/n) had known about. I came back inside the apartment and unzipped it to reveal my graduation gift my uncle had made for me.
A traditional Waterbender warrior uniform (with my own modifications). At the belt’s center design engraving instead of the traditional Water symbol, I had engraved a carving of the moon, the same moon carving that my mother once bore on her armor. The sleeves I had torn off and had them replaced by black elbow-length fingerless gloves with the center forearm of the gloves wrapped up in war tape.
I also began to give myself the traditional war paint of the waterbenders. Black markings under my eyes and the symbol of water at the center of my forehead. I then pulled up my face mask to cover the lower half of my face because in order to find my father, I was going to need to get in touch with some of his old friends, and I couldn’t risk them seeing my face. But there was one last thing I needed to do.
I went into (Y/n)’s room and saw her deep asleep as the brief flashes of lightning lit up her room. I silently walked over to her and gingerly brushed the strands of hair out of her face and saw her left hand resting not too far from her face, her palm exposed. I took off my wolf fang necklace and placed it into her palm. Truthfully I don’t know if I will come out of this alive or not, but what I have to do in order to save Wayne, I’d rather her remember me as I was instead of who I’m about to become.
Having just confessed our feelings to one another only to lose her now, that’s the damage my father brings out in people. But I don’t want her to be involved in this anymore than Wayne is now forced to be in. I saw as her palm closed over my necklace and I whispered to her.
“I love you sweetheart, always remember that.” I then went back to the roof and took a deep breath in before exhaling and waved my arms around to have the rain water spin around me before I shot out into the sky, a flash of lightning coming down then I used the rain to forge a water patch for me to jump across. Each step I took, water formed under me until I was running on the raindrops.
I soon came to one of my dad’s old dealers Yakone. Yeah I may have been a kid but my old man certainly liked to take me out to all of his dealings and I got to meet every single bloodbender, drug dealer, and crime boss this city had to offer. I peeked inside the window and saw Yakone counting up his money even though he had just gotten out of prison and was currently on parole.
Once a crime boss, always a crime boss. I used my power to spill his whiskey across the counter which forced him to stand up and walk out to get something to clean up the mess. Once he was gone, I slipped inside his office and waited. The second he came back in, he froze on the spot before suddenly jerking his arm up. He groaned as his arm soon shot to the left then the right, his bones snapping with each jerk until he was forced to bend forward.
I made myself known with my left hand in a knife-hand position at my face level before lowering it downward while at the same time his body fully went down to the ground.
“You’re going to tell me where Wayne Munson is and don’t even think about lying.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” sneered Yakone. I took a step forward and pushing with my other arm as I extended it, Yakone’s upperbody was forced upward and I snapped at him.
“You were once Alan Munson’s second in command. If he ever broke out of prison, the first person he’d go to is you. I won’t ask a third time; where. Is. Wayne Munson!?” Yakone continued to groan in agony as I bloodbended him.
“Tenth and Cicero X! He took that nonbender of a brother of his to the docks along Tenth and Cicero X!” I narrowed my eyes and with a wave of my arms, he was throw across the room, his back hitting the corner of the wall and he let out a pained groan.
“If I find out he’s not there, you won’t have to worry about the heroes finding out about your parole breaking. Cause I’ll see to it that you will be stopped permanently.” Then I used my Bloodbending to knock him out before finally leaving the scene as if nothing happened.
I stood along the rooftop of one of the buildings that overlooked the docks of the city and saw the old warehouse where Yakone said Wayne was being kept hostage. I could see guards patrolling around the warehouse all either carrying guns or specialized arrows. Odd that my old man would hire assassins and non-benders to guard my uncle, but no matter they’ll be out of my way soon enough.
I snuck my way down the fire escape of the building and crept up towards the warehouse before diving head first into a bay. I created a water-helm for me to breath as I swam towards the edge of the warehouse. I then summoned out a water tendril and reached out for one of the guards and pulled him out into the bay. I then created a whirlpool tornado and shot myself upward.
“OPEN FIRE!!” one of the guards called out and a hellfire of guns and arrows were shot at me. Creating an ice barrier I shielded myself before coming down with a back axe-kick which caused the whirlpool to follow me and push half of the men into the street knocking them out.
Using the remaining water, I created a water whip and proceeded to fire ice shards at the rest of the men. Knocking their weapons out of their hands and then piercing them to either the walls or old shipping carts. When the first set of guards I had knocked out started to get up, I proceeded to bloodbend all of them stopping them in their tracks.
Forcefully controlling them to stay where they were and getting down on their knees when suddenly I felt something metal hit me in the back of my head forcing me to release them. I reached behind me and felt blood on the back of my head and I heard the sound of someone landing in front of me. From the light of the full moon there was no denying who the man in the red suit was that stood before me. One billy club in his hand, the devil helmet and those piercing red eyes from the mask staring at me. The Man without Fear aka Daredevil had come.
“You need to back off.” He warned me in the voice that had been known to send shivers down any criminals spine.
“And you shouldn’t interfere with family affairs.” I seethed back at him. I formed water tendrils around my arms and went on the offense but Daredevil proved to be just as fast as me, if not faster.
“You’re making a mistake.” He told me.
“You made the mistake by coming here!” One of my tendril arms froze over as I went to skewer him but he dodged out of the way forcing the ice shard to pierce through the asphalt of the street. I broke my arm free of the ice and dropped the other tendril before stepping into a front stance and held my arms parallel of each other to use the rain to knock him off his feet but once again Daredevil’s agility was something.
Each time two waves of water tried to knock him down, he was able to either to flip between them, roll underneath them, or bend so far back against the ground there was no chance of the water touching him. I growled impatiently and charged at him this time.
However only just two punches he not only dodged them but got me to my knees and had my in a chokehold.
“First rule of combat, never attack in anger.”
“I’m not angry! I’m annoyed there’s a difference!” I snapped as I tried to break myself free from his grip but he held firm.
“I can tell, but that’s the first rule they teach in combat. Now listen to me, you can still turn back. Let me finish the job and you can be reunited with your uncle by morning, your father will go back to prison, and all of this can be put behind you.”
“It won’t matter.”
“Yes it will. You’re young, you have a future to look forward to, you still have a choice. But if you cross this line, the journey back isn’t easy. Trust me, I know.” Looking down at the water I did a few finger flicks which caused a water whip to wrap around his neck and pull him off of me. I then used my Bloodbending to keep him in place. He let out a cry of agony as I forced him to stand at attention.
“It’s already too late, I’ve made my choice. One way or another, Alan Munson is dying tonight. He crossed the line when he kidnapped my uncle, who’s to stop him from going after my friends? My—” I trailed off thinking about (Y/n). The torture alone that my old man could put her through, especially since she doesn’t have any powers to fight him back with. “If he ever got to her, I’d never forgive myself.”
“Got to her ehh?” I tensed as I released Daredevil and turned to see the man I’d hope I’d never see again. His hair was longer and madded and the eyes I inherited from him were soulless and cold. He somehow managed to find his old armor once again and in his grip, he had Wayne levitating in the air. “Now this I’d love to hear more of, especially if you did all of this for your excuse of an uncle.”
My heart was pounding in my ears as my blood boiled in rage. Extending my arms outward in a T position but with my hands standing upward, I made the rain pause around us and slowly form a shield around all of us.
“Release him.” I ordered.
“Or what little man? You gonna kill me?” the Puppetmaster mocked.
“If I have to.” I said soullessly.
“Sounds a bit dark for the son of Lunar Eclipse. But if you were my son, you’d do it without hesitation.”
“Eddie…..don’t do it son.” I heard Wayne groan out. “Even if you do attack, he’ll use me as a shield.” He said again.
“He’s telling the truth.” Daredevil soon spoke.
“I can protect him.”
“You’re blinded by rage and won’t be able to stop it in time!” Daredevil spoke up again. “Your uncle raised you to be a hero, not a murderer!”
“I’m already a murderer.” I soullessly stated referring to the men I had just taken out.
“They’re still alive, I can hear their heartbeats. Your father knew those men wouldn’t be worth your time because he knew the only one you were willing to kill was him.”
“Eddie, son listen…..” my uncle strained out. “Take a good look at the man standing before you, is this the man you’ll want to become if you do this? Because you were the one to break the chain and not be like him ever since you were born. You chose to walk away from his path and choose your mother’s.”
“Listen to your uncle Eddie Munson, you’ve got people who care about you, even love you. One of them especially. Your father, he has no one. No one to call family, friends or even a partner to love and cherish. If you do this, you’ll never see any of your friends or your beloved again! So don’t. Do it!” My body trembled in rage as I stared daggers at my old man.
I waved my arms and let out a rageful cry as the shield dropped and formed into a thousand ice sharps varying in size and flew right towards him. But just as some pierced the ground and Wayne’s body was moved directly in front of my father’s, I stopped the attack.
The ice shards floating in mid-air before I stood there in the rain and the ice shards immediately turned back into water, drenching both my uncle and father. My father tossed Wayne aside as Daredevil went over to check on him as my father said to me.
“Even with all the power in the world, you are still weak.”
“You’re wrong.” After 13 years, I was able to stare my father down not in fear and surprisingly not in rage (at least anymore). “I always wondered just what kind of man you are to have done the things you’ve done. Now that I see, I think I understand. There’s just nothing inside of you, nothing at all. You’re pathetic, sad and empty. And as much as I hate you—I just can’t find it in me to kill you. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t come prepared.” Next thing he knew, he was trapped by a zero anti-gravity forcefield and the entire Heroes Council soon came on the scene.
“Alan Munson, you are under arrest by the City of Hawkins.” Proclaimed Chief Hopper. Ms. Byers and Robin’s mother soon came up and put my father back in chains and guided him towards the police car. I closed my eyes and felt a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders but there was still a sliver of doubt floating in my mind.
As the night droned on, I found myself back at the Murdock’s apartment, the rain finally subsiding and I knew in a few hours dawn would break. My uncle had been taken to the nearby hospital for a healing session and to give his statement to further incriminate my father’s quadruple life sentences.
“I’m proud of what you did back there. You even managed to fool the Devil himself.” I heard Daredevil say behind me.
“I wanted to do it. I wanted to take out all my anger at him but—I couldn’t. I don’t know if it’s because I’m too weak to do it or—due to the people that I have in my life, it’s given me the strength not to go down his road.”
“You did the right thing tonight Eddie Munson. Forgiveness is the first step you take to begin healing.” I stood up from the edge of the balcony and walked over to him and told him.
“But I didn’t forgive him. I’ll never forgive him for what he did. In a way he did win,” I looked down at my hands. “I swore that I would never use his taboo art of Bloodbending but—I did. I…..don’t know if I…..” I soon felt arms wrap around me. When I looked up, I found myself surrounded by red and I was surprised to see that the infamous Daredevil was hugging me.
I surrendered to his embrace and hugged him back as I softly began to cry. Now that my anger and rage was gone, the sorrow, the guilt and shame was all that remained in me. And I finally let it all out and Daredevil not once tried to get me to stop or tell me to suck it up. In fact he didn’t say a word, he just allowed me to fully let it out until my tears were finally spent.

Something that I kind of noticed was that in the episode 'Operation Normal', when April take's Sunita to Bro's Pizza (the pizza restaurant that formed when all the Turtle's favourite pizza places combined in the episode 'Pizza Pit'), April is holding a Mike Lou pizza menu, which was Raph's favourite pizza place
(Mikey's favourite was Lou Mike Tony's pizza, Donnie's favourite was Tony Lou's pizza & Leo's favourite was Mikey-Tony's Pizza)
Which makes me kind of wonder if Raph's favourite pizza place could have possibly been April's as well since she was holding a Mike Lou's pizza menu.
(Though a kind of fun fact when it comes to the pizza places is that in the Rise comics April worked for Leo's favourite pizza place, Mike-Tony's until her moped got destroyed in a battle with Alberto & other Turtle related shenanigans).

SMALL UPDATE!!!!!
okay so I've made a couple of new assets for the game, aswell as almost finishing the escape sequence theme!
(just gotta tweak some stuff on it, for example the clock sounds at the first beat drop)
also i have a semi-WIP main menu music!
i need to make it longer and add some less reppetive sections lol
also i've made a couple of new assets:
spear enemy walk cycle!
mike falling animation
head thing for the corner, similiar to the thing in old pizza tower demos (like it uh, changes depending on what state the player is in) (most likely gonna redraw this as im not a big fan of how it came out.)
also the TV that will keep track of the players score:
last but not least for now (for assets) i made the goober walk cycle as well!
ok so, i also want to talk about some of the level concepts i have!
so, for the first world ( FYI every world will have around 4 levels, and a boss)
will be time based the levels will be: (names are not finalized!) Medieval Mania, a medieval themed level (duh), Ancient "Grease" a food themed level based off of ancient Greece, "YE HAW!" saloon, a wild west themed level, i dont have an idea for the fourth level yet, i may still do the "Castle entrance" level for first level of world one, so.
other level concepts i have are: "Busy bee city": which will have some sort of honey powerup allowing you to stick to walls (i don't know about the name.) "Placeholder": literally JUST a level with place holder assets, may be kind of a lazy idea but yk "OH MY GOD SO RETRO": a level that plays into the "so retro meme" (but without copy writed characters ofc i aint gettin sued.)
also ive had an idea for a "bowling alley" level where you have to knock over bowling pins.
anyway, thats all for now! goobye!

Inspired by nikto in Miami (iykyk). Give some ops their favourite fast food chain... Whoever u want it can be as few or as many ops as you wish
this is perfect bc w nikto in miami i can just say theyre all in miami fsr and not have to worry abt what restaurants are where. YAY. and also i know whats down here. so if i miss something bc its some northern shit DONT be surprised. read all my posts w a southern accent. Anyway.
rodion ofc would b the most excited hed want to eat at a million places and get a bite of everything and get himself sick. i think nikto would probably end up finishing a lot of his meals & eating the best he has since hes become nikto bc he cant let food go to waste and rodion is eating like final 2 fries after 3/4th of the biggest burger on the menu & half his chicken nuggets then going "Oh my god...... Im so full now......." and sipping on a little milkshake. he would rly like dairy queen bc they have so many little ice creams to pick from. nikto wouldnt b impressed by any particular fast food chain i think but he would probably find some local wings place he rly likes bc the food is spicy. and he enjoys a good fry. he might fuck up a captain d's tho. they got fish. yummy. or popeyes actually bc they have shrimp AND its spicy.
i dont think bale is picky abt food at all. both him and nikto you could feed them anything and theyll take it. stuff thats really greasy might bother him but he'd still fuck up a steak n shake. or a wendys baconatorr but where i really want to see bale is a waffle house. the burger w the bacon w the hashbrowns he can put cheese in. its that american cheese but its good he will like it. salty as FUCCCK. uh minotaur is having a horrible time but he will still enjoy a chicken hashbrown bowl. and a captain d's too hed like the bread roll. OHH and a taco bell rice bowl. if they still have those. hed like a chipotle more than taco bell tho.
nikolai would fuck up a five guys burger and fries but it would put him out for the rest of the day. or an ARBYS bro get him a roast beast with fries, cheese sticks, and a shake hes OUT. i think krueger would b a lil snobby tbh he would like a local burger/wings place but not fast food. except mayb a nice plain value menu chicken sandwich from wendys its not very greasy. + good fries. syd already knows fast food placess in america shed probably rly fuck w most of them she LOVES a burger and fries. shed probably rly like cookout and any place that gives a lot of variety. five guys as well for all you can put on a burger + boiled peanuts. yegor would be so haterous of fast food but he'd enjoy a walmart deli bc its a one stop shop. and some nice gas station coffee. idk if farah would come along tbh idk that she could get into America with her label... she's not underhanded like kroug and nik are she's very blunt and doesn't lie... she would like Wendy's tho. something Small bc all the grease is gonna fuck her uppp
roze also doesnt care for fast food i think shes not huge on burgers esp not eating them often. but shed like chick fil a and grilled chicken sandwiches. mayb arbys roast beef every so often. lerch does not gaf at all if someone's going to get food he'll eat whatever gets brought back for him. he just wants a large. velikan fuckin... would Tear Up five guys too put him in the pile. AND taco bell AND dairy queen w a nice big blizzard (he is always getting a brain freeze. every time.) AND any pizza place but prob mostly little caesars bc its the cheapest. goin crazy on the crazy bread.
mace like already knows fast food places so hed be able to kind of have an idea on places jackals would like. subway or jersey mike's is a safe bet any just sort of sub place bc thats just a sandwich but i think end of da day they wouldnt like any place nor the prices so theyd also just enjoy walmart deli sandwich or theyd get some use out of the hotel kitchenette. zane esp would not enjoy fast food imo. maybe a classic bit of mcdonalds by himself bc he just wants to eat and go. mace like doesnt care he enjoys a burger he likes a fry. jacks is good bc theyve got the potato and gravy thats rly yummy + you can get like an actual plate mace would like that. a country fried steak even..
uhh price Only likes the McDonalds fish filet i dont think hes fucking up any other meal or place. he would maybe snack on some chicken nuggets dry. i really just see sas going to McDonald's they know McDonald's. everybody knows McDonald's. they could end up in a steak n shake and enjoy it tho esp soap and thorne. i think otter alongside price is the hardest to please but if you give him enough hot sauce packets he can eat anything. ghost isn't going inside he wants to eat in the car but he doesn't gaf where they are. ghost and mace on an in the parking lot pizza hut date.
golem needs to try waffle house also. i think he'd probably actually be really disappointed in the lack of gyro places that's what he'd be wanting and there's like arbys and pita that's it. unless he finds a local place. wyatt would love cookout u can get a million things. AND captain ds. talon would probably also like captain ds but he does not want to go with wyatt. he will go with domino and mara who would rather be having pizza pizza little caesars. I'm taking Morte to the Olive Garden.
demon dogs would b up for anything but they would like All have to agree on one place. they probably mostly get big buckets from any of the fried chicken places OR pizza bc its easy to get a lot to feed a lot. OR a bbq place they love bbq they give u big portions they love to Eat. + just buffets bro they'd tear up a buffet.. all the ops would tbh itd be the easiest way to get everyone some food.

What if Will was the first one to write a letter. What if he was sat at their table in their new home in California surrounded by partly unpacked boxes, pens and ripped out pieces of lined notebook paper across the table and El comes over and asks what he's doing. He says he's writing letters to the party back home. He's already written Lucas one and Dustin and Max and they're sat neatly in a pile of signed envelopes just waiting for a stamp. He's currently half way through one to Mike but it's proving harder than he'd like, he doesn't tell El that part though. El's face lights up, she pulls out the chair across from Will, grabbing and clicking the end of one of the pens, she asks if she can write some too. Will says yes obviously. He slides a the notebook over so she can rip out her own page, shows her how to start with 'To whoever' and finish with 'From El.' She gets started on one to Max immediately and it makes Will smile before he's back to chewing on the end of his pen and looking at his unfinished letter. El's speeding through her letters, and has had time to add little crayon drawings to each one by the time Will finally gets something he deems good enough to send down. It's not that he doesn't want to write to Mike, it's the opposite. He has so much to say, so much to tell he doesn't know where to start and where to end or even if he should say any of it at all. He goes with something simple, telling him about their new house, how hot it is compared to Hawkins, how he misses him and the others and keeps it upbeat. He slips it into a fresh envelope, writing out the address and name on the front and only then notices El's paused her whirlwind of writing to stare at her paper like he had been just a few minutes ago.
"You ok?"
El meets his eyes the way she always does when she speaks to people, so honest always. "Is it different for boyfriends?"
Will scoots forward a little to look at her letter trying to work out what she meant. Oh.
She'd seemingly got to the end of her letter to Mike but had written just 'El' at the end with a gap on the line before it.
"Some people write love instead of from when it's to people you... love."
"Yes, that's it!" She quickly scribbles down 'love' in front of her own name with no hesitation then pulls back to smile at the word.
Will feels something dark and slimy surround his heart, like it was submerged in tar and still trying to beat but he takes a breath. "So I'm guessing you un-dumped Mike's ass."
El giggled, "Yeah." This time she doesn't meet Will's eyes.
Will swallows. It was really that simple, huh?
"They need those square stickers on them don't they?"
"Stamps, yeah. I'll go find some." He strains his lips into a smile before fleeing the table thinking about how his letter to Mike is full of small talk and El's is probably full of love confessions and something real.
-
A week or so passes and they get mail. A bill addressed to his Mom, a brochure for a new water park, a takeaway menu for a nearby pizza place and a letter from Mike addressed to El. Nothing else.
-
A couple more weeks pass. El writes back to Mike. Mike writes back to her. Nothing addressed to Will in Mike's hand writing ever passes through their letter box.
The phone rings. Will's too busy crying to answer it.

^^ This is an incomplete list--I know there are others but these are the books I've bought over the past couple years and have not yet finished/ready. They are stacked on my desk and around my room, silently accusing me of neglect. I wither in shame. The rest of the list escapes me currently. This also doesn't include the tbrs currently on my e-reader since I can't remember where it is to see what's on there.
MOVIES/MEDIA TO WATCH:
Any Adam Driver movie that isn't on Netflix (House of Gucci, Annette, Paterson etc.) I have seen the Last Duel, Blackkklansman, This is where I leave you, Marriage Story, White Noise, Frances Ha and a few others). I know Ferarri is in theaters right now but I've kind of developed a phobia of theaters since 2020 :S
a ridiculous number of documentaries/video essays on youtube that I do not have the energy to go look for right now
Fall of the House of Usher (I love Mike Flanagan's work but I'm still hooked on Midnight Mass and Daddy Father Prewitt)
The Haunting of Bly Manor (I know everyone was obsessed with this and I meant to watch it but I was reading the Turn of the Screw when it came out and didn't want to get spoiled for it so I avoided it like the plague and finished the book but never got to watching the show)
Blue Eye Samurai
The Beguiled
Ugly Betty (I'm actually on season 2 and it's charming and funny but holy shit the amount of body shaming/slut shaming/ homophobia in this show. definitely a product of its time.)
Anne with an E
Fleabag (never finished it but thought it was amazing)
What we do in the shadows (have seen all but the most current season)
Reservation dogs
The Batman (2023)
Black Swan
The Crown
Band of Brothers
Demon Slayer
Whiplash
Wolf of Wall Street
Birds of Prey
Downton Abbey
Peaky Blinders
Nimona
Drag me to Hell
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Queen Charlotte (halfway through but haven't finished. i hate things that make me cry when i watch them so i have to be in a very specific mood to watch emotional heavy things)
Lady Bird
The Banshees of Inisherin
BARBIE (*ducks thrown rocks* I'll get to it, i SWEAR) (but i'm amazing at avoiding spoilers at this point i still know very little about the movie)
Men
Pearl
The Invisible Man
The Turning
Succession
Suspiria
Promising Young Woman
Shiva Baby
Luca
The Green Knight
Licorice Pizza
Bullet Train
The Menu
Women Talking
Knives Out + Glass Onion (*ducks more thrown rocks*)
Paddington 2!!!!
SHadow and Bone (honestly I lost almost all interest in reading/watching this once I heard the hot villain dies. BOOOO)
Carol
That one newish show with Adam Scott that looks super liminal and sci fi i can't remember the name
The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Oppenheimer
Killers of the Flower Moon
Guardians of the Galaxy 3
M3gan
Turning Red
Everything Everywhere All At once
Nope
Barbarian
Just like the book list, I'm sure there's many other titles I'm forgetting to put here. I actually have branched out and watched a fair amount of new movies this year so i'm going to keep it going! and here's one more list just because this is fun
Stuff I watched or read in 2023 that I loved/recommend (with the caveat that not all of this came out in 2023): (and i'm not including obvious stuff like Spider man across the spiderverse)
White Noise
Don't Look Up
Living in the Time of Dying (documentary on Youtube. It is HEAVY on existentialism and the science/data on the current state of climate change. This WILL ruin your day so I'm warning you now. Definitely don't watch it today. This really affected me and I cried for a long time after watching this but it is incredibly important to keep in mind.)
Blackkklansman (i had to watch this with the volume on the lowest setting bc of all the n words being dropped so frequently lmao but goddamn this was so good and funnier than i expected.)
DIMENSION 20: Burrow's End!!!!! As well as The Unsleeping City season 1. Neverafter and A Crown of Candy are probably at the lower end of the list but I still love them. (thank you to @rogueimperator for cluing me onto how amazing D20 and Dropout are. <3 this is a whole new world lol)
Midnight Sun :)
7. Christine and the Queens - Redcar les adorables étoiles Full show on Youtube. I was supposed to see him live in October but he got injured and had to cancel the rest of his tour :( but this album and the video are incredible! Slight warning for semi nudity.
8. Game Changer on Dropout. he's been here the whole time!
9. The 1975 live at Madison Square Garden. I was lucky enough to see them twice this tour with my twin sister and we had an absolutely amazing time. They always put on amazing shows and this particular tour/their latest album meant so much to us. Even our younger brother has come with us for some of these shows so it's something we all share. (Last time they came to Chicago in 2022 the venue was too small so they didn't have the House set with them so we didn't get to see it in action until this year) Sex and The Sound will always be the perfect closers for their shows and I get so emotional every time I hear them. Core memories for sure.
10. Puss in Boots: the last wish. this seems like another obvious answer that i probably could have left off but this gets an honorary mention because our family cat was diagnosed with advanced bone cancer in August, and we had to put him down very soon after that diagnosis. We spent an agonizing week tending to him and cherishing every last second we could get with him. I've been fortunate enough to never experience the death of a pet until this year, and i almost wish we didn't have any pets at all because I've never felt such excruciating grief. He was a fat, grumpy orange boy with beautiful yellow stripes and a little yellow mustache. I was trying to distract myself and found this movie on Netflix and watched it, then recommended it to my sister (who is actually Thomas's owner but we all shared him) though I warned her the movie did deal with themes on mortality. We all watched it together the night before his final vet visit and Tommy was there with us on a comfy pillow. I hope he approved of the movie, because now any time I think of Puss in Boots i think of him. <3
I could add more to this but my eyes are tired and I'm wired up from coffee. I know this is long as hell so sorry but I had fun making it! I'll probably keep coming back to this post in the future to cross out what I've watched.

FNAF 2; The Movie; The Fanfic; Part 1
First time making a FNAF fanfic, much less a one about the movie.
Been thinking about this for the past 2 weeks or so. Hope you enjoy.
Day 0, part 1.
After a long day on a trip in Duluth, Mike, Vanessa, and Abby were returning home. On the way there, an advertisement for the 'New and Improved Freddy Fazbear's Pizza' started playing on the radio.
"Well, that's certainly odd." remarked Vanessa.
After 3 years, the franchise still exists. Getting a little hungry, they decided to stop by the restaurant and maybe get a bite.
"Doesn't seem too bad, on the outside atleast." Said Mike,
Abby looked around for the animatronics, but she could only see small, plastic versions of the characters she knew.
"Why do they look like that?"
"Well, Abby, i, don't know."
As they went to order, Vanessa looked at someone, and they looked back at her.
"Jeremy?"
"Vanessa??"
The both of them stared at each other for a while.
"Holy shit, haven't seen you in a while-"
The both of them laughed for a solid minute or 2, until the man noticed Mike and Abby.
"So, i assume this iisss-"
"Mike, Abby, this is my brother Jeremy, Jeremy, Mike and Abby."
"Hey..." said Mike, quietly.
"Hi :3" Abby said, as she looked at the menu.
"So, what were you up to, Vanessa? Haven't seen you in, 9 years, i think. "
"Multiple drug busts, gun buybacks, haunted animatronics, after that, not much besides being in a coma for 6 months."
The man stood there, surprised.
"Mhm, cool- wait, coma, 6 months?? What happened???"
"It's, a long story." Responded Vanessa
"Huh." Jeremy said.
"Trust me, y'wouldn't like to hear it." Said Mike, struggling to pull out his wallet.
"I can pay if yall want, i have plenty of cash to go around." Jeremy said, holding a credit card.
"No, no, it's, it's fine." Said Mike, slightly shooken.
"....Alright then."
The four sat down at one of the tables and started talking.
"So, are you two twins? You both look very, similar, eerily so-" Mike asked, looking at them.
"Actually, no, we're about, 1 year apart, we have different mothers, too." Replied Vanessa.
"Mister Jeremy, where do you work?" Asked Abby, curiously.
"Well, uh, before this, i used to work for a little ol' diner, think you've heard of it, Sparky's, they used to have an animatronic similar to those, with the same name as the restaurant, it was a uhh, if i recall correctly, a dog with a collar and floppy ears, but they removed him due to faulty mechanics, of course by the time i worked there, about 5 or 6 years ago, or 7, he was already gone. I think they had him in the storage room at the old Freddy's location for a while."
"Mike, didn't you see a dog in the storage of Freddy's?" Asked Abby, turning to Mike with a look resembling that of both concern, and curiosity.
"I...i think i did, it was disheveled and in, pieces." Mike replied, jogging his memory a little bit.
"Now, i'm going to be actually working, here. It's nice to work at a place you once loved and cherished dearly as a kid, ain't it Mike?"
Mike sat there, a little confuddled about what Jeremy just said.
"You, never been to Freddy's??" Replied Jeremy.
"I was, just, not when i was a kid."
"Jeremy, not everyone knows about Freddy's. You know that right?" said Vanessa.
"Yeah, yeah, i know, it's just weird how you can live in Granite Falls and not even hear about Freddy's."
"Yeah.." Mike replied, sleepily. It's as if the man hasn't slept in weeks.
The four of them sat in silence, until Jeremy spoke up again.
"So, could i actually stay with yall for a little while? My house is under renovations, and i'll only have to stay there for, a day or so."
"Sure, why not, i mean, you will have to pay rent though-"
"Mike, i'm only staying there for a day, that's nothing."
"Jeremy, i'll cut you a deal, for as long as you need to stay, we'll let you stay, as long as you pick Abby up from school, and keep the house clean." Responded Vanessa.
"Well, alright then, i guess that's a fair trade."
Later, after coming back home, Jeremy set down his items, dressed up in a Magenta shirt, black vest, gloves, and pants, alongside a nametag.
"Wait, where are you going? Aren't you supposed to start tomorrow?" Asked Vanessa.
"Well, i am, but today i'm going to get tested on how well i do on the job, a sorta 'test run' you might say. Anyways, i'm gonna be back home tomorrow, bye guys." Replied Jeremy, as he headed out the door with a large duffel bag.
"Strange, why would they do test nights instead of test days?"
"Jeremy was always a little, strange, lets just say that."

Hiya, could I have a snippet for Adventures in Babysitting? Cheers!
(also, are you ok with receiving multiple asks from the same person?)
Of course you can! (And I would gladly take multiple asks, it's super flattering that you want to!)
“You know what this means, don’t you?” Dustin asked, knocking their heads together gently.
“That I have to call your Aunt Nancy again and see if she’ll babysit you?”
Dustin made a face. Nancy was great in all ways except with children and made no bones about how she’d rather do literally anything else. “I was going to say order pizza and watch Lord of the Rings to drown our sorrows, but uh… I guess you could do that too. But only if Mike is there.”
Eddie chuckled. The kid knew him too well. “I can ask, but as for the first part… I think that sounds great. Go get the menu, you can pick where we order from.” Dustin let out a cheer and raced off into the other room, leaving Eddie alone with his thoughts again.
Might as well get it over with.
He made himself get off the couch and unlocked the door to his study, the one that Annie had been so pressed to get into. Dustin would be using the kitchen phone, so Eddie sat down and grabbed the other line, the one that he only used for business. This probably counted, so he dialed the familiar number.
“Good afternoon, Nancy Wheeler speaking.”
“So formal,” Eddie teased, sitting back in his chair.
Nancy snorted. “It’s almost like you called my work phone. Is this a work call or a social call?”
“A little of both,” he replied with a sigh. “I had to fire another nanny. Caught her trying to snoop around for new material from the album. I think she was just a fan looking for something juicy, but you can never be too careful.”
“I can’t say I blame you. So, I guess that puts you into a bit of a pickle, doesn’t it?” He could hear the rustle of papers from down the line. “Which, I would love to help you with, but I’m heading out on assignment next week and will be gone for a month.”
Eddie groaned and let his head thunk down onto his desk. “Of course you are. I wish you all the best and I know you’re going to rock it, but I kind of hate you a little, just so you know.”
“Stop picking such shit nannies and babysitters, then.” Nancy paused, before she let out a thoughtful hum. “Okay, look. I know you’ve been with the same agency for a while now, but all it’s done is give you headache after headache. Why don’t you try a new one?”
"I'm listening."
