I’m gonna be honest, I wanna say the Royal Knights arc is my least favorite part of Frontier.

Don’t get me wrong. I love the shenanigans that the kids get up to. And it’s a fun ride to watch them save the digital world.

But if these two Team Rocket looking motherfuckers didn’t appear every episode, that would’ve been great.

And another thing.

It always pisses me off when we delve into Kouji’s memories and we get the scene of his dad telling him to get over his mom’s death. Like wow, ok, let me store my grief over that shelf over there, sorry dad uwu

Even if Kouji knew the truth regarding the divorce from the get-go, this would piss me off. As a child of divorce- my dad didn’t force me to call my stepmother as such. He sat me and my brother down and said “we’re at a point where you can call her your stepmother instead, if you’d like.” He never made us call her Mom. He never told us to get over the divorce. He did tell us that it was a long time coming, but he let us grieve.

Yes, Kouji maybe should’ve been a bit kinder to his stepmother, but keep in mind he’s a kid. He’s a kid who’s grieving the mother he thought was dead. That’s a huge, huge adjustment for him. Like obviously you don’t wanna coddle a kid, but you want to give them grace.

I don’t think Kousei is a monster- usually when I say “Fuck Kousei” it’s for the meme. But man. He really could have done so much better.

I always forget just how hardcore Kouji and Takuya’s evolutions become.

Like damn.

I wish that love was put into the rest of the cast.
