She sat in my kitchen for an hour, sipping ice cold lemonade in the sunlight while we talked the gossip of the town between giggles.

She left only moments ago, and as I look to our two empty glasses I can't help but feel something else is empty- but what?

I shudder. Who... was she, anyway?

Driving home soon after night truly begins, when the last glimpse of sun is far gone, red glowing eyes in the sky-too many to count-blink together. Their gaze fixed on me. The stars are hidden behind clouds. My eys are drawn to either side of the road where they hang eerily still in the sky. Tightening my grip on the steering wheel I pull my eyes back onto the road ahead of me.
