The MIE Racing Honda Team reconfirms Hafizh Syahrin to complete its 2023 line-up
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After announcing the signing of Brazilian rider Eric Granado, the MIE Racing Honda Team is pleased to confirm that it has extended its agreement with Malaysian rider Hafizh Syahrin. The 2022 season saw Syahrin debut with the team, and in the WorldSBK category. The 28-year old finished in the points in four races and ended the season on the up in terms of both his performance and consistency. The MIE Racing Honda Team thus completes its line-up for the 2023 Superbike World Championship season with two talented and fast riders who are both more than ready for action when the season kicks off in Australia on February 24-26. “I am extremely pleased to announce the contract extension with Hafizh who made his debut with us in World Superbike and has grown steadily throughout the season”, said team owner Midori Moriwaki. “I think that he and Eric (Granado) will form a strong and competitive pairing and will help us to both develop our project with Honda in the category and promote the WorldSBK Championship and motorcycling in South America and Asia, two extremely strategic regions for our sport.”  “I’m very happy to stay with the MIE Racing Honda Team again next season”, Hafizh Syahrin added. “I know that Midori (Moriwaki) is putting together a stronger package for 2023 while I will focus on giving all that I can, building on last year’s experience and aiming to finish in the points at every race. My primary target is to be more competitive and I’m ready to work hard to achieve that.” Read the full article

Fall 2019 Power Rankings
1. Shinchou Yuusha ~Kono Yuusha ga Ore TUEEE Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru~: I thought this show had no chance based on the concept but thanks to a masterclass comedic performance from Toyosaki Aki it ended up being the best show of the season. It even had a real ending and everything. ★★★★☆
2. Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai!: I didn't expect Bokuben to actually end, but all the heroines got some nice wrap-up arcs and Furuhashi was the best girl as ever. One of the great rabukomes of recent years. ★★★★☆
3. Babylon: Boy did I never expect us to be here. The first strand-type anime must truly be seen to be believed. ★★★☆☆
4. Houkago Saikoro Club: Cute girls playing board games cutely is already an amazing concept, but Midori is waifu tier and puts this show over the top. Tomita Miyu is rapidly becoming too powerful. ★★★☆☆
5. Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne!: This is probably my least favorite Oota Masahiko anime, but it's still in fifth because the comedy god always delivers. ★★★☆☆
6. Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld: Alicization went abruptly in another direction with its second half and it was dearly needed; the sidelining of Kirito and elevation of Asuna into the main action finally made SAO hype again. ★★★☆☆
7. Hataage! Kemono Michi: This was such a weird show, but it had lots of cute girls with and without kemomimi. ★★★☆☆
8. Fate/Grand Order -Zettai Majutsu Sensen Babylonia-: If we were rating just on animation quality F/GO would win everything, but unfortunately the story is just stupid and bad. If you like sakuga (and tsundere Ueda Kana characters), though, this one is can't-miss. ★★★☆☆
9. Nurupeta: Speaking of weird... This cute short about a beeg beeg oneechan went in directions I never expected. ★★★☆☆
10. Azur Lane: Could be higher if not for the production spaghetti that hit it late, but despite it Azur Lane still manages to nail the cute girls doing cool things genre. ★★☆☆☆
11. Mairimashita! Iruma-kun: When this show hits, it really hits thanks to the blessed Pripara combi of Moriwaki Makoto and Fudeyasu Kazuyuki, but the source material is not very good and it shows at times. Just give me more Clara and kaichou. ★★☆☆☆
12. Rifle is Beautiful: This show was a real underdog but somehow came back to make wiimote rifle actually compelling. ★★☆☆☆
13. Val x Love: This rabukome is hampered by an unappealing male protagonist but the girls are pretty stronk. ★★☆☆☆
14. Assassin's Pride: I really wanted to love this show because it has a wonderful aesthetic and a great Ayaneru character, but the story is not really there. Lots of good flat chested girls though. ★★☆☆☆
15. Choujin Koukousei-tachi wa Isekai demo Yoyuu de Ikinuku you desu!: If you read the title you can probably tell this show has an incredibly dumb premise, but the author of one of my favorite shows of the last decade (Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry) somehow salvages it into something at least moderately worth watching. ★★☆☆☆
16. Ore wo Suki na no wa Omae dake kayo: Cute girls, dumb story, it is a tale as old as time. How come my favorite heroines always get tunred into the comic relief? Cosmos-senpai didn't deserve this. ★☆☆☆☆

MIE Racing Honda Team announces Eric Granado for the 2023 WorldSBK season
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The MIE Racing Honda Team is pleased to announce that it has signed Eric Granado as its rider for the 2023 Superbike World Championship aboard the CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE. 26-year old Granado has recently concluded his best ever season in the MotoE World Championship, finishing as series runner-up after amassing five wins and fighting for the title until the last race in San Marino. To date, his remarkable racing achievements include four titles in the Brazilian SBK Championship as well as world championship seasons in Moto2 (2012), Moto3 (2013, 2014) and the FIM CEV Repsol series, where he won the Moto2 European Championship title in 2017. Next year the talented Brazilian will fight on two fronts, taking part in both the MotoE World Championship and the Superbike World Championship. The MIE Honda Racing Team bids farewell to Leandro “Tati” Mercado, thanking him for all his efforts and wishing him the best for his future endeavours. Midori Moriwaki “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Eric to the MIE Racing Honda Team. We had the chance to work with Eric when he joined the team for the final round of the 2020 WorldSBK championship season in Estoril. He finished top 15 in race 1 and close to the points zone in race 2 which was really impressive. His talent, speed, professionalism, and not least his sunny attitude are key values for me, and I think he will be a perfect fit for the MIE Racing Honda Team structure. A structure that will also be strengthened in terms of its technical and managerial staff in order to ensure continual growth and improvement. I also want to heartily thank Tati for two amazing years together, for his hard work and total commitment to the team. We wish him all the best for his future.” Eric Granado “I am very happy to take on my first WorldSBK season in 2023. Firstly, I would like to thank Midori, Honda and all the sponsors for giving me this opportunity. It has long been my goal to make it to World Superbike. I have won four Brazilian Superbike championships and raced in the Spanish SBK Championship over the last two seasons. It’s a category I know, although the world championship operates at a much higher level obviously. I competed with the MIE Racing Honda Team in 2020, at the Portuguese round, and I really enjoyed it. I liked seeing how everyone worked and Midori made me feel really welcome in the team. We talked about trying to work together and now we will do just that. I think it’s a great opportunity for me and my career, and I’m very confident that we will have a competitive bike and can work together with Honda to improve the machine. It will be a real challenge, battling with fast, world-level riders but I will try to learn a lot from them and do my best to achieve solid results each weekend so that I can arrive at the end of the season knowing I have done a good job. I hope the Brazilian fans will support me; it has been so many years since a Brazilian rider raced in the world championship and I hope to represent my country at its best. I want to thank everyone for their support, and now I can’t wait to get on my Honda and start working.” Read the full article

Moriwaki Althea Honda Team officially launch their 2019 colours and team
The Moriwaki Althea Honda Team has officially launched its 2019 WSBK project during a presentation held just a short distance from the Phillip Island circuit in Australia, where racing is set to get underway over the weekend of 22-24 February.
The important event gave the Moriwaki Althea Honda Team the opportunity to introduce key team members and riders Leon Camier and Ryuichi Kiyonari to the national and international press, and, most importantly, to unveil this year’s race bike, the Honda CBR1000RR SP2.
The first of the day’s speakers was Motorcycle Department Manager of Motor Sports Division of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Mr. Soichi Yamana, who introduced the new project and the expectation for the upcoming season.
Mr Yamana was followed onto the stage by both Moriwaki Althea Honda Team Director Ms. Midori Moriwaki and Moriwaki Althea Honda Team Manager Mr. Genesio Bevilacqua, who expanded on their previous experiences and shared history.
Last but certainly not least, riders Leon Camier and Ryuichi Kiyonari unveiled the 2019 livery of the CBR1000RR SP2, the red, blue and yellow colour scheme making a real impact on stage.
Leon Camier 2 “It’s a real honour to be involved in this project with the support of Honda, and the experience of both Moriwaki and Althea. It’s all new of course, and that means we have a lot of work ahead of us, but I think we have good potential and I’m excited to see what we can do. It will be good to get out on track with our rivals this week and understand where we are. There is a lot to work on as I’ve said, the bike having been developed in a different championship, but we’re ready for the challenge. Our main goal is to improve race by race.”
Ryuichi Kiyonari 23 “I am very excited to have this opportunity to return to World Superbike and I thank Honda, Moriwaki and Althea for putting their trust in me. A lot has changed since I was last in the championship, in 2009, and I think the level is now a lot higher with many fast riders. Having said that, I have worked hard in recent years and hope I can continue to grow this season with my new bike and new team; I am very motivated and believe we can work together to achieve some good results.”
Soichi Yamana Department Manager, Motorcycle Department, Motor Sports Division, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. “Honda has competed in WSBK since the beginning and the series has allowed us to develop higher performance products and provide further feedback to develop new machines. This feedback loop has given Honda many victories and championships, both when we competed with Factory Teams and also when we decided to continue our campaign under the guidance of satellite teams from 2003. Today another chapter begins. This year we have strengthen our project in WSBK, and aim to reach greater heights with our new partners Moriwaki and Althea. Moriwaki, as we all know, is a team with an outstanding track record. Althea Racing is also a team that knows how to win races, and has been a partner of Moriwaki for many years. As riders, we have Leon Camier who has repeatedly shown his potential in WSBK racing, and Ryuichi Kiyonari, a superbike specialist. I believe that as our riders gain experience, they will lead the team in the right direction.”
Midori Moriwaki Team Director, Moriwaki Althea Honda Team “Of course today’s official Moriwaki Althea Honda Team launch marks a very special moment for all of us. I wish to thank Honda, HRC, Althea and Moriwaki and everybody involved in this project for putting in an incredible effort in order to make this happen. We know that this is going to be a challenging season of course but it will also be an exciting one. I have known our riders Leon Camier and Ryuichi Kiyonari for a long time and I know they are fighters, both highly motivated and ready to give one hundred per cent to this project. We are ready and looking forward to start!”
Genesio Bevilacqua Team Manager, Moriwaki Althea Honda Team “Today is a very special day for all of us, and this new project a very exciting one. Together with Honda and Moriwaki we form a “dream team”, and I am honoured to represent the outfit as Team Manager. The energy that HRC is putting into this new adventure spurs us all on to do our very best. We know that the challenge we face is not an easy one, but we will give it our all. I thank Midori Moriwaki, Honda and everyone who supports us on this new journey”.
