Holy hell. How did I not know about this book until now?! 

Let's take a moment to drool over the cover: 

I mean, !!!! 

The official release date is April 22nd, 2014 (only 5 days y'all) and everything about the blurb, cover, name, series name, (etc, etc.) appeals to me. I've been on a serious Alpha Male (capitalization required) drought lately, everything I read is either too cheesy or too ... terrifying. Sometimes the Alpha Male thing can get a little ALPHA Male scary. Seems like Phenomenal X will toe the line perfectly. And it's set in Detroit (reppin' it for Michigan), which is so refreshing, right? I'm really sick (sick I tell you!) of the cookie-cutter NA formula where the (super hot) virgin meets the (super, super, super hot) rich guy and they live happily ever after in a giant-ass NYC apartment that has never existed and will never exist in the future. It's all a little too cozy for my taste. Give me Detroit! At least it's (hopefully) edgier than some of the sh*t I've been forcing myself to finish lately. 

Let's have a taste: 

"Xavier crashes his lips into mine quickly before pulling away and heading for the black curtain to give the fans the showdown they crave. The moment he steps into the spotlight, the roof on the building nearly blows off the place with the force of the crowd’s screams. I turn towards the monitor and stare, mesmerized by the pure determination on his face. I swallow hard as nervous energy flows through my body. It’s like a train wreck. I shouldn’t watch, but I can’t tear my eyes away." 

Right? 

It's going to be over-the-friggin-top in the best way. Fingers crossed that this release will finally deliver, because I've been sorely lacking for good material lately (don't even get me started on my *brief* foray down the rabbit hole in Into The Deep — never again ... *shudder*) 

And ... (drumroll please, no I mean it, I want a drumroll please. I'll wait.) 

Now that I've been properly set up, the release date just happens to coincide with the last day of classes of my college career! I'm seriously (almost) an adult now. Damn.
