Summary: Petros heads to where Elizabeth is as soon as he leaves the hospital. He barely eats at the dinner table though and he tells Elizabeth and her father that he’s not feeling too well. His leg gives him trouble and his fever's back up.

Elizabeth nurses him back but his appetite is still not fully there yet. What worries Elizabeth and her father though is the amount of pain medication Petros is taking...

Summary: Elizabeth tries to keep Petros talking during their imprisonment. She asks him to talk about his travels but his memories become confused due to his fever.

You’ll notice him shedding a tear of joy as his fevered brain conjures a false memory of him walking down Florence with Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is worried and begs him to eat something, he refuses because he’s worried that there won’t be any food left for her, he only agrees when she says she’ll eat if he eats. 

The small activity exhausts him and she places his feverish head on her shoulder and sings him a song from her childhood...

Summary: At the start of this set, Petros tells Elizabeth that he’s dizzy, so she gently lays him down. He tries to make her laugh in that fourth GIF by telling she should be a nurse and not a nun. 

A few hours later, Petros’s fever gets suddenly worse and he starts to shiver and hallucinate the sounds of someone knocking at the door. He tells Elizabeth to go check, she gets worried and tells him that it’s his fever playing tricks with him, but he insists they’re real.

She tries to coax him by having him drink some water which he barely drinks. He gets frustrated and tries to get up to answer the knocking but is too weak to do so. Elizabeth calms him down by telling him that he’s right, that there are sounds and that they’re going to be saved, which calms him down a bit.

In the GIF before the last, she asks him if he’s cold, which he weakly nods to, so she holds him to her chest to lend him some of her warmth as he shivers and slowly drifts off...

Summary: Petros makes some noise while trying to find a way to escape, this attracts the kidnapper who comes in to try and take Elizabeth for his own, and Petros just snaps. He jumps on the kidnapper but is too weak due to blood loss and fever. The kidnapper kicks him repeatedly until Elizabeth pulls the kidnapper away... Petros passes out and is need of attention. When he wakes up, he asks Elizabeth to forgive him because he’s too weak to save her.

Summary: At first, Petros loses consciousness for a longer period this time and that worries Elizabeth, she tries to have him drink some water but he’s too out of it, so she coaxes him with a bit of water on his forehead and he starts to come to.

Later in GIFs 5 and 6, Petros tells Elizabeth he’s too scared to fall asleep because he may not wake up, so Elizabeth asks him to tell her a story, so he talks about what it was like when he first saw her, but he keeps fading in between sentences so Elizabeth pulls him back every now and then to continue talking.

A few hours later, Petros’s condition gets worse and he can feel it. He tells Elizabeth, “I feel I cannot fight it anymore, it’s like something is pulling me under”, so he feverishly asks Elizabeth to forgive him for a past incident where he kissed her without her approval. 

She tells him it’s already in the past, that she’s forgiven him, and that she now sees the true man that he is. But he doesn’t hear it in his fevered state and asks for forgivness again.

Later he whispers “Talk to me” so that her voice can ground him. “Talk to me, please, talk to me”. 

She continues to talk, and then to ground him even further and to show how she’s forgiven him completely, she does something very unexpected and kisses him gently, though he’s too far gone to notice :(

Summary: In the first four GIFs (ep. 50), Petros wants to rid Elizabeth of any guilt, so he tells her that he’s okay if he dies here, that his life would end with the sweetest dream because it’s with her. She gets upset by his words, turns his head towards her and tells him very firmly to never say these words again, she waits until he nods his understanding...

In the bottom GIFs is when Petros hits rock bottom (end of ep. 51), he stops shivering and starts to call out to his dead mother, “Mom? Mom wake up...”. 

This is the last time we hear from Petros until they’re rescued.

Summary: As Petros slowly recovers in the hospital, Elizabeth can no longer visit him due to the media waiting by the door and portraying her and the monestry in a bad light due to the whole incident. 

Petros sees what is being said about her in the media and demands to be discharged so he can be with her, the doctor tells him that in doing so he may lose his leg, but of course Petros won’t see reason.

He asks his friend to help leave the hospital and that worries his father, who in anger to Petros’s decision, challenges him to try to take a few steps without help, which of course Petros can’t. 

But that won’t stop Petros from finding Elizabeth... Stay tuned :)

From the Greek series Μαύρο Ρόδο episode 48

Summary: Petros, who’s in love with the cadet nun Elizabeth, refuses to let her go with her kidnapper, and is shot as a result of trying to save her.

The kidnapper takes them both and imprisons them in a remote warehouse, with barely any food and a useless first-aid kit.

For the next few episodes, we get to watch Petros’s health slowly decline as infection and fever sets in, with Elizabeth trying her best to keep him alive and falling in love in the process.
