Meeting the in-laws is such a familiar rite of passage that it's no wonder it has become a common movie plot device, as in Meet the Parents (Jay Roach, 2000) and its sequels in 2004 and 2010. Wendy MacLeod's play and Mark Waters's film The House of Yes turn the device into a black comedy influenced by another genre: the wacky family comedy -- think You Can't Take It With You (Frank Capra, 1938) and Auntie Mame (Morton DaCosta, 1958), in which a prospective spouse is introduced to a household of eccentrics. In The House of Yes Marty Pascal (Josh Hamilton) brings his fiancée, Lesly (Tori Spelling), to meet his family in a D.C. suburb. Lesly, who works as a waitress in a doughnut shop, finds herself out of her element: For one thing, the Pascals are clearly more affluent and better educated than she is. Moreover, Marty's twin sister (Parker Posey), known as Jackie-O because of her fixation on Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, has recently been institutionalized, his mother (Geneviève Bujold) is hardly the most stable of parents, and his younger brother, Anthony (Freddie Prinze Jr.), only appears normal. Marty's no-nonsense manner also turns out to be a façade as Lesly becomes the vehicle for the revelation of various family secrets, including incest and possibly even the real reason for the death of Marty's father. In fact, Lesly's obvious out-of-placeness suggests that Marty's invitation to spend Thanksgiving with his family may even have been a kind of sadistic prank. There's some smart dialogue and some wincingly funny moments, but the film is stage-bound. It never touches base with reality, suggests an idea behind its conception, or reveals a satiric target.

Since I’m sad that otome games don’t have English dubs when they get realeased in the west, I’ve decided to do English fan casts to alleviate the pain. (I get that they’re a niche genre, but let me have this)

Code Realize, Hakuoki, and Amnesia will have the same voice actors from their English dubs. One of the exception is Toma, since his voice actor is unfortunately dead. I would replace Toma’s voice actor with Mike Haimoto. Another exception is Sanosuke Harada’s voice actor since he’s been blacklisted and arrested due to grooming a 16 year old and marrying her in 2014. He’s already been replaced by Phil Hayes in the Hakuoki movies, so he’ll stay.

I’m not doing Collar X Malice at the moment since it’s getting a movie adaptation this year, and (hopefully) it will inevitably get an English dub. If it doesn’t, then I’ll do it on the future. 

The heroines are all voiced in English as well because I say so lol.

Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) was photographed by Michael Spiller. Mike was born in New Jersey and has 42 cinematography credits from a 1984 short to 2022.

His notable cinematography credits include The Unbelievable Truth, Trust, videos by Smashing Pumpkins and Sonic Youth, Henry Fool and 28 episodes of Sex and the City. He also has 52 director credits, all on tv, including 7 episodes of Sex and the City.

THE STRUTS lead vocalist Luke Spiller and THE PRETTY RECKLESS frontwoman Taylor Momsen dueted on THE BEACH BOYS classics "Surfin' USA" and "Fun, Fun, Fun" at "A Grammy Salute To The Beach Boys", a special tribute concert honoring the legendary Grammy-nominated music icons THE BEACH BOYS. The live concert special, which took place this past Wednesday, February 8, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, featured a star-studded performer lineup that also included Grammy-winning artists and past and current Grammy nominees, including Beck, Brandi Carlile, FALL OUT BOY, Andy Grammer, HANSON, Norah Jones, LADY A, John Legend, LITTLE BIG TOWN, Michael McDonald, MUMFORD & SONS, MY MORNING JACKET, PENTATONIX, Charlie Puth, LeAnn Rimes, St. Vincent, TAKE 6 and WEEZER, who all celebrated and honored THE BEACH BOYS' everlasting music and impactful career.

"A Grammy Salute To The Beach Boys" will air on the CBS television network and will be available live and on demand on Paramount+ at a later date.

On Thursday (February 9),Taylor shared a few photos from the event and included the following caption: "I guess the cat's out of the bag…last night it was an honor to perform at the Grammy's tribute to @thebeachboys with my new found friend @lukestruts amongst so many great artists…it was a blast. Last year, THE BEACH BOYS celebrated their 60th anniversary on their "Sixty Years Of The Sounds Of Summer" 2022 tour. In June 2022, they released a newly remastered and expanded edition of THE BEACH BOYS' career-spanning greatest hits collection "Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best Of The Beach Boys". The expanded "Sounds Of Summer" features 24 new mixes including two first-time stereo mixes, plus 22 improved stereo mixes enhanced by today's digital stereo extraction technology. The collection is available now in a variety of formats, including a super-deluxe version and a remastered single disc that boasts the original 2003 release.

Since the band's co-founder, lead-singer and chief lyricist Mike Love penned the lyrics to THE BEACH BOYS' first hit "Surfin'" (1961),dozens of the bands chart toppers have become eternal anthems of American youth: "Surfin' USA", "Surfer Girl", "Fun, Fun, Fun", "I Get Around", "California Girls", "Help Me Rhonda", "Barbara Ann", "Good Vibrations", "Wouldn't It Be Nice", "Rock And Roll Music" And "Kokomo".
