This woman was arrested for WORDS.
We should rally for her as much as the guy who actually shot someone. Push back.

(   *   BELLAMY BLAKE  :  THE  DAMOCLEAN SWORD.   /   a  study.   )
CHAUCER,  THE CANTERBURY TALES   ——    above,  where seated in his tower,  i saw conquest depicted in his power.  there was a sharpened sword above his head,  that hung there by the thinnest simple thread.
the  sword  of  damocles  is  a  single  moral  anecdote  and  conscious  commentary  on  the  peril  faced  by  those  in  positions  of  power.   the  story  recounts  damocles,   an  obsequious  courtier  who  often  pandered  to  his  king,   claiming  how  fortunate  a  great  man  of  power  such  as  he  may  be.
the  king  then  offered  to  switch  places  with  damocles  for  a  day,   so  that  damocles  could  experience  that  so - called  fortune  firsthand.   of  course,   damocles  quickly  accepted  and  sat  in  the  king’s  throne  surrounded  by  gold  and  lavish  luxuries.
however,   the  king  arranged  that  a  huge  sword  should  hang  above  the  throne,   held  only  by  a  single  hair  from  a  horse’s  tale.   the  reasoning  behind  this  act  was  to  illustrate  what  it  is  truly  like  to  be  a king,   as  having  much  fortune  and  power  also  means  always  having  to  watch  in  fear  against  dangers  that  may  attempt  to  overpower  him.
damocles  begged  to  be  allowed  to  depart,   no  longer  wanting  the  fortune  after  realising  the  great  danger  that  came  along  with  it.
this  theme  is  also  evoked  in  other  works  by  the  likes  of  shakespeare     (     uneasy  lies  the  head  that  wears  a  crown     )     as  well  chaucer  as  illustrated  above  and  the  import  metus  est  plenus  tyrannis  which  translates  literally  to  fear  is  plentiful  for  tyrants,   i.e.  a  tyrant’s  fear  is  a  complete  fear.
this  allusion  fits  bellamy  perfectly   !   the  greek  mythos  is  fitting  to  my  overall  portrayal  of  him  and  the  tale  accurately  depicts  the  crumbling  pressure  of  having  power  and  maintaining  its  fluctuating  impact  throughout  the  series,   most  notably  in  seasons  one  and  three  respectively.   ( :

Bring back the gallows...
Tumblr media
Elon received no votes. Elon will take no oath.
The level of suffering inflicted by someone with wealth to last 10,000 years is perverse.

Metus est Plenus Tyrannis
I think we owe an apology to the Americans, looks like at least some of the issues with their healthcare system can be addressed with guns
