From the Metasonix Facebook Page : “"I recently “refound” this Marathon 112A with the adaptor base. Adaptor bases allow external voltages to be added to the grid and plate to allow a more powerful 112A or 171A to be used in place of a 201A in a set that does not have any other way of adding the extra voltage. There are at least 5 different ones to collect. Three of the parent companies of National Union offered them (Sonatron, Magnatron, and Northern Manufacturing {aka Marathon}). QRS and Van Horne also offered them." So did CeCo in fact. A nice example of a new industry being unable to agree on a "compatibility standard" for its products.“

The Producer Confidential membership comes with a no-nonsense assortment of radio-ready samples that breathes electric life into any aspiring pop producer’s composition. Producer Confidential consists of a team with a range of influences, from hip-hop and R&B to trap and soul. Today’s popular music in itself comprises a multitude of genres and the PC team has worked tirelessly to ensure to bring together the very best from each of their respective worlds to build an irreplaceable arsenal of goosebump-inducing sounds.
📷
The team amassed their sounds using top-of-the-line analog gear, from classic synthesizers and sound processors to ground-breaking modern gear like the
Gamechanger Motor Synth and Plasma Rack, 4ms Spectral MB Resonator, Studio Electronics Code 8, Metasonix Wretch, Resonator Neuronium, Make Noise 0-Coast, Rosso Electro Panharmonium, Synthesis Technology Cloud Terrarium, Culture Vulture, E-RM Polygogo, Universal Audio 1176LN and Culture Vulture, Intellijel Modular, and much more.
Normally it would easily cost thousands of dollars to obtain these kinds of sounds at this level of professional sound design, but as a member of Producer Confidential, you’re just a few clicks away from some of the world’s finest and rarest loops, one-shots, and midi compositions.
Producer Confidential has included a few bonus packs along with their subscription to boost your beat-making artillery. With every membership, you automatically get three insane packs (Perfect Progressions, Million Dollar Sound Design, and Drum Magic) completely free of charge. Each pack contains a unique set of rare and luxurious sounds that you can add to your personal toolkits to create timeless, heart-stopping arrangements.
If you’re a music creator and you want a secret weapon to produce radio-ready tracks while saving time and money, go to ProducerConfidential.com.

Metasonix Videos!
As a change of pace from my Ask.Audio reviews, I’ve started doing videos on modules starting with these handsome devils from Metasonix. Videos make a bit more sense for conveying information about modules because you can see and hear what the module does, rather than relying on descriptions and/or sound clips and putting the two together. These modules have continued to surprise me with all kinds…

Metasonix - R-53 Vacuum-Tube Waveshaper / Ringmod module
“... uses a 12AF6/BD6 remote-cutoff pentode and a 12AV7 dual triode. Waveshaping is provided by a vacuum-tube "pulser" circuit that spits irregular pulses onto the input waveform. They synchronize erratically with the input pitch (if a waveform with sharp transitions is used). Combined with true vacuum-tube circuit distortion, this can provide a vast range of complex, aggressive distortion effects, utterly unique in the world. A basic ring-modulation function is also available in the unit--applying a carrier pitch from an external oscillator to the screen grid of the pentode, this allows making inharmonic sum-and-difference pitch sound effects, with a unique vacuum tube pentode sound. “

Stream/download 'Yearning for the Infinite': http://bit.ly/2Q6Mmys Thomas Vanz: "For "Let there Be", Max asked me to think about the two key words "infinite" and "birth of humanity". Everything came naturally to this process I was working on, involving two types of liquids blending in forever, progressively. I choose to represent the light of Kabbalah that Max once told me about, blending a very luminous and pearly white with a very dark black. Once I had a satisfying shot, I added with Max a variety of neolithic paintings and illustrations spreading out from the center where the lights were coming from. The final result represents an infinite light spraying all over darkness, as the birth of reason and mankind." Follow Thomas on Instagram: http://bit.ly/2FdSTPq Max Cooper: "I wanted to start the project with the earliest visual example of the infinite I could find reference to - the bright white light of Kabbalah. The magician of liquid systems, Thomas Vanz told me he had a new secret recipe which could deliver what I needed, so I set about scoring to this idea based around what I know of Thomas’ work. The whole project functioned in this way, starting with my written descriptions of each chapter, then finding a visual artist to carry out that side of things, while in parallel I scored the music to the imagined final result. At some point down the line the first visual and musical sketches arrived and things could be refined at each end to marry the music and visual together seamlessly. The music for this chapter needed something with a feeling of grandeur and space, mysteriousness and mysticism. It all came down to some really sparse drawn out chords and plenty of different layers of saturation with pedals (plenty of Metasonix F1, Moogerfooger overdrive, Industrialelctric RM1N, Fairfield Circuitry Meet Maude, WMD Geiger Counter), with smatterings of more distorted hits running through a heavy (Big Sky) plate reverb to punctuate the scale even more. Visually, we complemented Thomas’ growing light animation with ancient cave painting imagery in order to tie the visual abstraction to the human story, and the birth of our yearning for the infinite. For the live show I use two layers of screens to first show the structure hovering in front of stage, then to slowly reveal the rear backlit screen and my position between them, as a means of slowly adding a 3-dimensional depth effect as the music and visual peaks." Metasonix, Qu-Bit, Native Instruments, and White Cat

Here’s some UAC (light combat) stuff!
The main synths are running through several parallel stages of distortion (tube+solid state), waveshaping, heavy compression and harmonic saturation.💀 The cat, on the other hand, isn’t running through anything and is completely unprocessed! 🐁 Speaking of the cat, notice how he’s watching my every move, like he’s learning. I’m convinced he’s plotting to take over my career one day! 🤔

your attention, if I may ... in the voice of #vincentprice ... welcome to my nightmare ... here we have an exceedingly rare, stereo pair of #metasonix scrotum smashers, perfectly at rest in a, um, schwarzmodul ... I think of them more like ‘synth smashers’ ... imho, the perfect antidote to the all too apparently ‘flat, one dimensional sound’ of most all synth plugins, and to the all too precise in tolerances modern hardware knock-off, subtractive synthesis, stereo polys ... that is, if you want to completely annihilate these puny, flat sounds ... this just happens to be a fave pastime of mine (yes, I know, I need help) ... I shall soon sonically better explain what I mean ... “the black widow ... dadada da da da” ... thanks Alice ... ◼️🖤🕷 (at Earth) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNEcGdiBkzg/?igshid=1ldb3nuwfmemf
