◇Metal Sonic design (and the original comic "Born to Fail" from which this is based upon) by @fernsnailz
♡Firstly, thank you fernsailz both for making the comic that inspired me to make my first, full fledged comic after several years of failing to do so, and also allowing me to do what I realize is the MOST self-indulgent and giddy i've ever been.
-----
♧Secondly, I am nervous, to write this. My knowledge of sonic is not vast. My understanding of characters may slip, despite all the research i put into them. My writing & character voice is subpar, but for once I have managed to create something out of love for this franchise and i think I needed this as well.
So even though I'm scared, frightened by the possibilies, every racing future in my mind that says "things will go wrong" "they will hate you" "you will be a failure" i find kinship in this character. Perhaps i too will learn to live. Perhaps i too will learn to love being alive.
So hopefully, this comic isn't too "out of character" or so blastfully horrificly beyond redemption as my anxious ridden brain percieves it be. I know, in my heart its not. But writing this out feels better than keeping the thoughts within me.
----
♤Thirdly, I know Chaos 0 isn't exactly a world-renowed beloved character that everyone does indepth analysis or theory crafting on. Thus, this ship may feel strange, or completely out of left feild to some.
In response, I have created an [ additional blog post ] outlining what I believe Chaos 0's character.
Of course, everyones interpretation of a character (what they represent, themes, and how they are handled) is largely a subjective process. So never take my iteration of him as gospel, and i encourage you (who are curious) to seek out information on him and determine for yourself who Chaos 0 is to you.
(That goes for Metal Sonic as well, but i'm focusing on Chaos because if not, who else will?)
---
☆Lastly, if anyone has tips or critque for me regarding making more belivable character dialouge, i'd be happy to hear. (Also theres a lot of artistic rendering inconsitencies- which is mostly because this took me a few months to make..😓✌️)
------
Bonus Short sketch comic under the cut:
[This is supposed to be a quick exploration on how exacly they mightve met in this particular continuity. It was made after the comic above was finalized, but i didnt want to leave the readers questioning as to what was going on.]
[Also some swearing because i am a chronic swearing sailor, and its funny.]
#metaos#metal sonic x chaos 0#metalchaos#metal sonic#chaos 0#omochao#sonic comics#fernsnails thank you for making the wonderful comic you have#look everyone!! i finished it!! i did it!!#i know both my little paper on Chaos 0 and this comic wont get any attention like 90% of my art does buttt#im proud of myself!! so i dont care!!! im happy!!!! i want to let myself be happy that i created and finished something!!!#🎉🎉🎉🎉🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳✌️🤩🤩🤩

Article By: Pat ‘Riot’ Whitaker, Senior Writer/Journalist ‡ Edited By: Leanne Ridgeway, Owner/Chief Editor
It is March 25th, 1988 and Night Flight, a late night visual arts and variety show on television’s USA Network each weekend, is about to show viewers something entirely different… and they shall never be the same.
It is, of course, the age of the music video and this program is on the verge of airing one titled “Prime Mover” from the British sleaze rock act, ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION. The number is musically inspired by the U.K. space rock collective Hawkwind’s 1977 track “Quark, Strangeness And Charm“, its video directed by Adrian “Ade” Edmondson of “The Young Ones” fame. Ultimately, neither one of these facts will mean much of anything when people get an eyeful of this leather-clad band, and then hear their music. Yes, it is the latter that they’re going to find most impressive, hopefully… or altogether hate.
youtube
Mark Manning is a graphic artist at the time, and former art editor at the then-defunct Flexipop! Magazine that had folded in 1982. It was while working there that Manning was introduced to a frequently visiting flow of rock stars and their hedonistically decadent lifestyles… and he wants in. It would be a few years still, but soon enough, Manning is working as a graphic designer at another publication, Metal Fury, when he begins to undergo a transformation.
The change is taking place during his hours off from work, Manning experiencing an evolutionary-like leap (or in some’s eyes, perhaps a devolution) on the scale of characters from Robert Louis Stevenson’s literary work, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Much like that strange case, Mark assumes an alter ego role, that of Zodiac Mindwarp – an anti-social looking sort, like a greasy biker from the cast of some forgotten 70’s exploitative B-movie. What he is, and what he has become, is something that really surprises no one that has known Manning for any length of time, and soon, he aligns himself with similar like-minded outcasts.
ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION is officially given life in 1985, joining Zed (as he is known to his friends) in the band are guitarist Rockman Rock (aka Jimmy Cauty), bassist Kid Chaos (aka Stephen Harris), and drummer Boom Boom Kaboomski (real name unavailable). Of course the latter part of the band’s name was culled from the most unlikeliest of sources, but there it was, in the lyrics of the third verse of The Boss’ “Dancing In The Dark“.
Soon, the band is signed to the Phonogram Records subsidiary, the Food label, and 1986 would be the year that ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION begin their campaign to dominate Rock ‘N Roll. It begins in May that year with the “Wild Child” single, recorded with Zodiac on vocals and guitar, Kid Chaos on bass, and Jake Le Mesurier on drums. The band’s name has already become a thing of high praise and acclaim among the denizens of the “Grebo” movement (or “Grebo rock”), a British musical sub-genre incorporating influences from punk rock, electronic dance music, hip hop, and psychedelia.
Though ZM&TLR look the part of the term’s earliest intended targets – the word “grebo” was originally used as a slang term for bikers and rock music fans with long hair – the word is being re-fashioned by the group Pop Will Eat Itself in 1986. They use it in song titles and soon, it becomes a thing unto itself, a music genre sublet that in time will include such acts as Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, The Wonder Stuff, Scum Pups, Jesus Jones, and Gaye Bykers On Acid. Before ’86 is over, ZM&TLR release the “High Priest Of Love” EP which soon lands in the #1 slot of the U.K. Indie Chart.
Truth is, ZM&TLR are pretty much the antithesis of the Grebo look, a polar opposite to its colorful shorts and clean shaves. Zed & Co. opt for a rather more psychedelic, drug addled, Mad Max-ian appearance melded with the German SS ala iron crosses, skulls, black leather, and sometimes, storm trooper helmets.

HIGH PRIEST OF LOVE EP
TATTOOED BEAT MESSIAH
By the end of 1986, ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION play the U.K.’s packed Reading Festival before thousands of fans. Not bad for a band that had their first gig at the 500 capacity Dingwalls in London less than a year before. Yes, it is evident that the band’s misanthropic imagery is not having an anti-social effect whatsoever, and even more intriguing, their music and its lyrical contents are finding an audience. Chock full of flamboyant, chest-thumping proclamations derived from a raging libido, Mindwarp’s tongue-in-cheek ravings are pure camp despite their often lascivious and misogynist tone.
By the next year, the band has new blood in the form of lead guitarist Cobalt Stargazer (real name Geoff Bird), rhythm guitarist Flash Bastard (real name Jan Cyrka), and drummer Slam Thunderhide (real name Stephen Landrum). Also, bassist Kid Chaos has left to join another popular rising band, The Cult, so enter Trash D. Garbage (real name Paul Bailey). The band continues their ascension to sonic glory with more U.K. single releases in 1987, including “Prime Mover” and “Backseat Education“.
However, for any British band, there is only one thing that seems to equate as having “made it” or being successful, and that is acceptance across the pond, in the United States. In February of 1988, ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION release their first full-length album, “Tattooed Beat Messiah“, through the Vertigo label, another subsidiary of Phonogram. The album contains remixed versions of the singles released the previous year, alongside several new songs too, including a cover of the Steppenwolf classic, “Born To Be Wild“, in some markets.
The album explodes in a music scene being dominated by acts like Poison and Bon Jovi but true anti-authoritarian types know the deal. “Tattooed Beat Messiah” is the dividing line, where such horrid pop fluff shall not pass, and it spawns several subsequent video tie-ins to tracks like “Backseat Education“, “Planet Girl“, and of course, “Prime Mover“.
youtube
Ultimately, it has the desired outcome as ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION are placed on a 1988 U.S. tour bill, alongside Guns & Roses, supporting Alice Cooper. After just a few dates, ZM&TLR are bumped up on the roster, now playing after G ‘N R , before Alice Cooper. Several of the band members appear with Slash, Axl Rose and Alice Cooper in a performance of Cooper’s “Under My Wheels” for the feature film music documentary, “The Decline Of Western Civilization: Part II“.
Tours with Motörhead and Iron Maiden only serve to increase the frenzied hysteria about the band, it’s growing like a raging wildfire and soon, they’re designated the new rock royalty, placing them in the ranks of bands like Circus Of Power, Warrior Soul, and Monster Magnet.
Yet, for every high there is a low, for every climb, a descent, and somehow, some way, ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION were about to experience theirs. At some point in all of this, the band is informed that “Tattooed Beat Messiah” failed to sell well in the United States, resulting in them being dropped by their record label while burdened with large, outstanding debts. It doesn’t add up, literally, as the album had ignited like a fuse, spawning five official videos that received regular rotation airplay on MTV, and the channel’s “Headbangers Ball“. That show’s host, Ricki Rachtman, claims the band as one of his all time favorites, and one of the most underrated bands of the era.
Not ready to give up the ghost yet, ZM&TLR release a sophomore album, “Hoodlum Thunder“, through the only label that would seemingly sign them at this point, Musidisc. Despite critical acclaim for the album, there is no hysterical fanfare this time, no arenas to rock, yet it’s probably a safe bet that some grope-ready groupies still thronged the band. The album spawns a handful of singles including “Elvis Died For You” and “Meanstreak“, and one of its cuts, “Feed My Frankenstein“, ends up being re-recorded by Alice Cooper, and released on his 1991 Hey Stoopid album (and featured in the 1992 movie Wayne’s World).
youtube
Truth is, things will never quite be the same for ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION as they increasingly cycle through a revolving door of musicians. This includes bassists Suzi X, Tex Diablo and Kev Reverb, along with such drummers as Robbie Vom and The Apocalypse. They continue to release consistent output like “Live At Reading“, “My Life Story“, and “One More Knife”, but the band eventually goes on a hiatus, remaining inactive for a decade before resurfacing again around 2002.
“I Am Rock” arrives that year, another live album, “Weapons Of Mass Destruction” in 2004, “Rock Savage” in 2005, and the following year, 2006 brings “Pandora’s Grisly Handbag”, a 1986 live album and DVD pairing. Through all of this, the persona and over-the-top character that is Zodiac Mindwarp never dilutes nor seeks a PG rating. The dangerously deranged, gargantuan genius of Mark Manning continues to expand, authoring multiple books containing memoirs about his sordid sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll experiences simultaneously as the band issues albums.
In 1996, he pens Bad Wisdom (with Bill Drummond), while Crucify Me Again (2000), Get Your Cock Out (2000), Fucked By Rock: The Unspeakable Confessions Of Zodiac Mindwarp (2001), Collateral Damage, and The Wild Highway (2005, again with Drummond) all follow.
2010’s “We Are Volsung” album, featuring the cast of Zodiac Mindwarp with guitarist Cobalt Stargazer, bassist Jack Shitt, and drummer Bruno ‘The Cat’ Agua, is released via SPV/Steamhammer. Recently, the current edition of ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION featuring Z and Cobalt, Beast Of Ante (bass) and the returned Robbie Vom (drums), have toured in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the “Tattooed Beat Messiah” release.
When all is said and done, the larger than life cosmic rock deity that is Zodiac Mindwarp, as well as his more human alter ego, Mark Manning, will be a subject regaled across the infinite celestial. Tales, legends and mythologies, if not entire theologies, will be devoted to the praise and edification of the Tattooed Beat Messiah. You know, the “Christ in shades“, the “napalm god“, the “Sex führer, baby”, the “love dictator…living detonator“- Mister Prime Mover himself.

When you fighting a Team Boss use Blue Tornado on them by choosing the Speed Formation for any Team desired.
Get To The V.I.P. Room
In casino park to get into the V.I.P. room after you get the checkpoint go to where the cannon is. look for those things that carry you up get on either the left or right one. Then once up there get in the middle between those thing with stars on them. There should be a ball switch to hit. Hit it and then get off the pool table. Then when you go up to that part with the laser field it should be off. Go up and destroy the robot. Pull out the switch and a line of rings should appear take them and it will lead you into a cannon take the cannon as sonic or tails and you’ll be at the V.I.P. room
Easy Win In Team Dark’s Second Mission
In Team Dark’s second mission: Defeat 100 enemies, an easy way to do it would be to go to a searchlight robot and make yourself seen. A robot should appear. Destroy the robot. Repeat process again. (note: This could take some time, but it’s easy.)
2P
Get twenty Emblems and you will be able to battle in 2P.
Bingo Highway Tunnel
When your about to go into the tunnel on bingo highway (where theres a long slide thing with bingo at the end) change into speed formation and walk into the tunnel so only the speed character goes in. If you fall through a hole since your teammates will still be by the tunnel (if you do it right) you’ll come alive again without losing an lives or points.
Faster Vine Swinging
When swinging away from the alligator, try going to the highest crest of every vine and press A. Then it will be easier to beat.
Last Story
To get the Last Story, get 100% with all 4 teams. Then, get all 7 Chaos Emeralds (You don’t have to do this in that order). You will fight Metal Madness. Team Rose: Break 1 of the boxes and use Team Blast. Repeat. Kill him with Thunder Shoot. Tesm Chaotix: Go in the cannons with Espio and Charmy. Then go in the cannon with Vector. Use 2 cannon shots on the balloons. Use the 3rd shot on Metal Madness’s colored spot. Hit his weak spot to kill him. Don’t use power when its red, speed when its blue, and flying when its yellow. Team Dark: FLy up to level up Rouge. Break the boxes to get everyone to level 3. Kill him just like Team Chaotix. Metal Overload: Team Sonic: You gotta use Team Blast 5 times to kill him. You have 50 rings at first. You lose 1 ring every second. Hit balloons to get more rings. When Overload shoots blue stuff out of his mouth, use homing attack 3 times. He’ll shoot spikes from his tail. Use thunder shoot. Metal Overload will take a ship from the Egg Fleet. Destroy it with Knuckles. He will also use Chaos Control to freeze time for 20 seconds. You will not lose rings when time is frozen. When Team Blast is charged, hit Z. After 5, you win. Note: After 4 Team Blasts, balloons won’t appear anymore.
Stay In Air
For this of course you need fly. It’s stupid but all well. Change to fly mode and start flying. Stay in air an you will stay for as long as you want. But remember not to let go of A.
Metal Team Members
At the main menu, select 2P Play, then chose any mode and team. At the stage selection screen, press A and then simultaneously press and hold A and Y until the game begins. If done correctly, your team members will be coverd with metal.

Ocean PalacePower PlantBINGO highwayBullet StationLost JungleMystic MansionFinal Fortress

(Artist Note: currently relearning how to paint. Decided to make these two my practice subjects.)
———
For some reason I find myself lured back to these two, try to figure out how they’d interact in every instance. Depending at what moment they meet, their dynamic shifts and changes- just like they do. The rebellious Neo metal sonic and a reformed* peaceful Chaos? Or perhaps a dutiful Metal Sonic, still clinging to dear old Eggman, and a ravenous, grief stricken, violent Chaos? Perhaps they meet somewhere in the middle and wreck havoc together, or remain calm and collected, helping instead of destroying, or they never meet at all.
In terms of this art piece, the idea of Metal Sonic seeking out the power of Chaos during Sonic Heroes entranced me. It has never meet, nor even seen or heard the creature (as it was asleep in a green tube during SA1) suddenly desiring its power? Thus, it must’ve learned from somewhere, likely hinging solely on semi-factual research by Eggman (and by proxy, Gerald). But instead of simply framing sonic, and stealing a chai and a frog, Metal seeks Chaos out by itself?
The allure of a “God of destruction” and then being met by a sweet, gentle and caring creature who wouldn’t hurt anyone less than a visible threat, is endearing to say the least.
However, Chaos is not innocent by any means, and has had his fair share of blood upon his hands. To say his reaction to the bot would be as negative as Sonic and the gang would be far from correct. He already being accustomed to Eggman’s robotics, as well as the man himself due to working under (then usurping) Eggman. I wonder, how would he react to the idea of an Eggman robot seeking him out of its own volition? Would it be an immediate threat in his eyes? Something capable of harming all he protects? Or as easy to deal with as tossing Eggman on the floor, and blowing up his airship? Perhaps something in the middle, or far from it?
I wanted to portray at least a little bit of that allure of curiousity, yet hesitation. They “know” each other, but don’t truly know each other. That’s what makes it intresting.

More Metaos (Metal Sonic x Chaos)!!!
Im particuarly proud of this one
Some headcannons of mine involving sickness and aflictions. I think Metal Sonic gets "cramps" whenever stuff gets stuck in its turbine, and since Chaos has a brain, he can definetly get headaches & migraines. Probably can also get dizzy, and drunk (lol).
I think medicine & hot water (soup) might work for Chaos, but since Metal is a robot, theyd have to get stuff like virus protection softwares, or even just hire tails (or get eggman if possible) to just fix it up.
Some more of my wonderful girls here (personal designs for chaos and Metal, as well as my favorite fat transfem bio-Metal design because my girls are a-stylin' (so fabulous).
Also, theres a group of bird who get themselvss drunk by eating some fermented (accidentally wrote "dried") fruit off the ground, and i thought about chaos and the chao accidentally (or purposely) getting drunk like the birds, and here we are.

METAL SONIC X CHAOS ZERO!!!
IN ALL THE CHARTS I COULD FIND!!
Some of the charts got repetitive, so i cropped it.
NOTES: there may be someee minor inconsitences as sometimes id change mind my across one chart to another.
If you want an expliantion for ANY of my choices here, please ask! I am starving for conversation about this relationship- so please please please ask my questions- or just tell me your own ideas! Idk! Communicate! Your words and thoughts are not dumb!! They are very important to me and must be shared!!!
Also, some more of my thoughts + notes after the cut:
-----------
I think my favorite charts are the first two, since the first one was pretty thourghough and easy to get whilst also including intresting and unique questions to the relatio ship dynamic. the second one i added a bit of character interaction so its really cute, and thats practically why i like.
---
I particularly like the touch chart, as i really had to consider wthe physicality of these two, and the custom model was fun to make (look they're even holding hands haha). It was a bit tricky considering i had to figure out what touches where welcomed and what weren't based on previous canonical interactions, and my own theories/speculations.
---
Oh, to explian the "lends clothes" and "borrows/steals clothes", i always found the neat detail of Neo Metal Sonic's wardrobe possesing a kind of.. arm warmer/bell sleeve? As well as its pants(?) Being a bell bottom.
Without the belt/butt cape, it does make metal sonics limbs somehwhat resemble the sillouette of Chaos' body, so obviously- i just figured that Chaos, if he were to wear any clothing, would probably be stolen by Metal Sonic since it already seems to be fond of that particular look that Chaos naturally has.
--
Oh, and Metal and Chaos being somewhat organized is due to thier jobs and enviornment they grew up in. Eggman, being the opposite of Sonics carefree, chaotic attitude, would likely prefer more cleaner, organized or "controlled" enviornments. Thus, i feel that Metal Sonic may have picked up a few tidying or cleaning habits that were a cause of eggman simply teaching or implimenting features in his bots to prefer the "clean up" of "dirty" or "messy" areas.
For chaos, i do recall reading something (perhaps on the chao wiki) of him purifying the Altars water and keeping it relatively clean from debries and such. Furthermore, having to be sole guardian of little children chao, the altar and the master emerald, requires a lot of responsibility and- if anyone has worked with children before- it can get very messy very quickly. So its mere speculation, but i do think Chaos would have picked up many cleaning habits as well, as well as cooking/harvesting skills due to him having to take care of large batches of critters.
Surprisingly, for a creature named "Chaos", the name only truely applies to the singular instance in which he is "Final Chaos" (as thats likely what the echidnas called him during and after that time.) Turns out, Chaos is way more controlled and responsible than chaotic and carefree.
So to segway, out of the two, Metal Sonic would be way more chaotic considering its nack for stirring up trouble (CD, Sonic Heroes, Chaotix.. ect) for the heroes, as well as it not really having major responsibilites outside of its purpose to "destroy sonic" and occasionally obey whatever task eggman requires of it.
Thus, is why in the driving promps, i title it "a speeder".
---
To explain the "Cognito Egro Sum" (aka. I think therefore i am) and the "infinty symbol" for the ages, er.. Metal sonic is a robot, and Chaos is an immortal being. If your being technical with it, you can say they're both relatively young, considering Chaos chao can't age and are often stuck in the form they were hatched in- despite the fact that chao do infact change as they age-
One can consider the idea that Chaos, for all intensive purposes, looks and probably is pretty young- if we apply chao logic to him.
Though one will argue "but Chaos is ancient" which is true, but his case is similar to Shadow's as he was trapped in that Master emerald for... millions of years............. so, similarly to how shadow was stuck for 50 years yet remains a teenager both inside and out, Chaos- for whatever age he was before he got trapped, probably still thinks and acts like that, as well as Tikal. Except now they probably need a LOT of therapy.
^hence why i put chaos's sleeping habits as "sleeps poorly" and "sleeps to little". In hindsight, being trapped in a emerald for thousands of years, with your freind of who's father killed your entire* family and burned your house (altar) down and tried to steal your most precious item (master emerald) and being the girl whos stuck with your freind(?) who killed your entire bloodline and basically genocided your entire community- stuck with him for THOUSANDS OF YEARS- is.....is going to require a lot of therapy.
So y'know, bad sleeping problems. Also probably why i depict Chaos hugging a lot + being affectionate, since being deprived your community that is entirely reliant on the concept of "caring, loving, and nurturing one another" (cause.. the opposite of that means chao will basically die upon reincarnation), for thousands of years is... a good recipe for touch starvation and a need for attention.
^hence why chaos is also on the attention side of some charts.
----
^ just conintuing off of that previous statement, i did move Chaos closer towards "extrovert" in the "extrovert or introvert" prompts, as since Chaos, unlike Metal Sonic, deals closely with many chao, and often is surrounded by a crowd of them, i do believe that Chaos would have to atleast gain some energy from social interaction in order to surivive that every day, without burning out.
----
The whole "who talks more" thing is kind of funny because, technically, its metal sonic (see Sonic Heroes + Sonic Free riders) who has more lines than.. Chaos's total of zero!
Meaning that, if anything, the "he said no pickles" meme would probably mean that Metal Sonic would be at the counter whilst Chaos is sitting in the back.
Though, compared to MANY other characters, these two are practically dead-silent, and would most likely rely on non-verbal ways of affection than verbal.
---
Oh and the "ethical v. Immoral thing" where i emphasized that chaos was "neutral" was because by compsring him to "chaos chao", theres a dark side, good guy side, and then neutral. Considering Chaos's history of amazingly goodwilled to horrendously incidous, one can conclude that he practically in the middle in terms of ethics or morality.
Metal sonic is definetly on the more immoral side, though i wouldnt put it all the way, as i do have considering enviornmental aspects to its behavior (such as well.. being a badnik, and being constantly exposed to eggman's immoral behaviors). So, other than like, unnesecarily abusing animal freinds in CD, and throwing a ship probably full of people at sonic (Sonic heroes) there aren't many instances in which Metal Sonic does something completely immoral and unjust- without any context regarding eggman ordering it too, or simply it just doing its job as a badnik.
However those actions are prettt bad on its own- though compared to... killing out an entire species... drowning thousands of people in a city and attempting to kill eggman with a giant laserbeam... and to whatever hyjinks eggman gets up too...
Its actions seem.. relatively small (though not obsolete.)
So like, theres not going to be many issues regarding "metal sonics gotta be a good guy"/ "i can fix him🥺" mentalities, since its kind of hard to do that, when you have a kill count of a 100+ whilst Metal Sonic is still on the "i'm needlessly harming animals, and threw a boat"...
Then again, i like to think the leiniency allows for them to work on themselves together, rather than tear eachother down or hate eachothers guts.
---
Transgender - both for my headcannnon, but also a refrence to it literally going "i transformed myself with my own hands" and well, i cant resist a pun/play on words now can i?
Agender- chaos dont have.. genders.
However, i thought this would change when introduced to concept of feminine and masculine models of the ancients in frontiers, but looking at Chaos, he doesnt resemble either one very much (tbh, in Sonic Forces, his model actually looks more akin to the fem version, than the pointy and sharp masc ones) and looks more akin to that of the children, if anything.
Plus, being masculine or feminine isnt really and indicator of gender anyways.. so like..???
So what? Does Chaos, gender? NOPE! Chaos isn't an ancient (thats his ancestor) and is a mutated chao. Chaos are genderless, or atleast out of that particular binary.
If Tikal showed up one day and started calling Chaos a "he/him", its likely that Chaos could've just.. adopted that. Assigned pronouns by random. Amazing.
So agender, as i can't think of anything else.
---
Sexuality -idk. Look, i dont consider whomth one likes. The knowledge of my characters, or other characters sexualites comes upon me in the way preists suddenly hear the words of their gods.
I dunno, until suddenly i know. Thats just how it is.
---
Ending it here cause im hungrt and cant think of anything else to chat on.
#metal sonic#chaos 0#chaos zero#metal sonic x chaos 0#metaos#shipping chart#still obssesed with that touch chart btw#like i did not realize Metal Sonic had such head-pat energy untill now#i even added an extra' lighter green to indicate where the nirvana spots are#like considering i kind of just had to guess and speculate based on minor context clues- ESPECIALLY with Chaos-#i think i did an okay job with Metal?#but damn i didnt realize how much upper body touches between these two have effected my physce. like of COURSE they'd have opposite touch-#but just seeing that stark difference is so fascinating to me. like#the no no spots make sense because these are important assets to their body inorder for them to function properly. touch a brain is danger-#-ous and touching its inner jet engine wings incorrectly may break then and ground Metal Sonic (in bird logic- that equals to death!)#but like the hands and chest thing for chaos makes some sense considering he'd have to care for chao who may have to be picked up- or#even carried in his arms- of course he'd feel comfortable there. but metal sonic who is mostly orange- would only be accustomed to generall#negative or bad touches like punches- hits- the sweet kiss of concrete scratching every once of metal off its body...#with the only generally positive ones being for mantience by eggman- thus everything is a “depends”.#but the head- the head pats- that area is the one that gets the most positive attention- especially considering eggman in the mixture#due to being tall- hed have to settle for doing head pats to give it praise- which mightve made Metal Sonic associate his head with “good-#-touch“. whilst the opposit reind true for chaos- whos body is practically impenterable except for its head (particularly its brain).#so people would attack it from that particualr region#and the vunerability and lack of defense would cause him to associate that area with “bad touch”#fun stuff!! this was super fun!!!!!!

Different, Similar, Compare, Contrast.
Metaos (Metal Sonic x Chaos 0)
Notes:
His hands are bigger than its body, its hands are smaller than his.
Its height is shorter as he slouches, so it must be even shorter when his posture is aligned.
His body is triangular, its body is round. They are both composed of sharp edges. (Yet he is rounder, smoother. While it is sharper, defined.)
Its legs are sharp, consitent in width. His legs are smooth, are grow in width.
One is see-through, transperent. The other you can "see through", solid.
Eyes are complentary colors. It has a sharp glare, the other has no glare at all.
One is aeiral, the other is aquatic.
One is organic, the other mechanic.
He is impenetrable, the other is breakable.
One is fast, the other slow.
Something something, they compelte eachother.
#metaos#metal sonic x chaos 0#metal sonic#chaos 0#still trying to learn how to draw chaos. playing around with the varyijg degrees of fluidity#both opaque- rapid- and clear in nature

Ive lost myself into the depths of Metaos (Metal Sonic x Chaos 0) (again)
(Gonna add more drawings under the cut. Dont wanna make this too long on the feed 😊)
I have a hard time draw kisses. I keep practicing, but its not easy. So instead i just make these two do what i call a little "pikachu kiss" where they just touch their little snouts together and nuzzle, then a spark of electricity appears for as long as they decided to nuzzle.
Also, i drew Chaos with a tounge. Yeah thats cannon in his final form (so i added it to his zero form. Also added the lizard-type eyelids too, so you can see his lizard styled sclera!).
I love how quickly chaos goes from 0 to 100.
Also yeah height differences, Metal is the short king (by like 3 inches maybe?). It finally got to be the robot king 👏👏👏
I like to think that the reason Neo Metal Sonic didnt just go and take the biodata from chaos himself (as he probably would've been totally chill with it) is just cause he got flustered and ran away. Also its kind of akward having to ask.
Also i headcannon that chaos just eat (or absorb) the animal freinds, considering they just straight up disapear once you give them one, so the fact that Chaos saw froggy and randomly decided to eat it, then puked it out an ran out- probably meant that chaos just doesnt like frogs, and that him turing into a frog- was because he is related to chao and once he eats a live animal freind, whether he likes it or not, will turn into it, for a short while.
I started making concepts for Metaos stickers (and valentimes day cards) Mostly am making them for myself, but if anyones interested i totally would start selling em' for a couple bucks or something (idk)
Just thinking about them sharing baby photos (aka blueprints & concept art and using live children as examples because your species are all identical)
Some zoomins of my favorite doodles:
(Ran out of pictures i can add 😭)

Turns out, even the most hated sketch can become something beloved.
(Note: Decided to use my most hated sketch as an opportunity to experiment. I colored like a child again, and created a peice with the most joy I have felt in a very long time.)
Tell me, does is this what happiness feels like?
