Hande Erçel, 1993 yılında Balıkesir, Bandırma‘da dünyaya geldi. Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Türk Sanatları Bölümü’nde okumaya devam etmektedir. 2011-2013 yıllarında 3mota oyunculuk atölyesinde eğitimine başladı,eş zamanlı Tiyatro Kedi’de oyun asistanlığı yaptı.   Hande Erçel, 2012 yılında düzenlenen Miss Cilivaliton of the World yarışmasına katılıp Azerbaycan‘da düzenlenen bu yarışmada ikinci oldu. Oyunculuğa 2014 yılında “Çılgın Dershane Üniversitede” adlı diziyle basladi. 2014 yılında “Hayat Ağacı” adlı dizide (Selin Karahanlı) karakterini canlandırırken İdil Fırat, Fikret Kuşkan, Onur Saylak, Özge Özberk, Kenan Bal ile beraber oynadı.   Hande Erçel, 2015 yılında “Güneşin Kızları” adlı dizide “Selin Yılmaz” karakterini canlandırmıştır. Dizinin oyuncu kadrosunda Emre Kınay, Evrim Alasya, Kanat Heparı, Tolga Sarıtaş, Berk Atan, Miray Akay, Sarpcan Köroğlu, Burcu Özberk, Sarper Arda, Meltem Gülenç, Teoman Kumbaracıbaşı, Funda İlhan gibi isimler yer almaktadır. 2017-2020 arasında Harika Uygur chubbuck atölyesi, Merve Taşkan oyuncu koçu, İbrahim Çiçek tiyatro yönetmeni-koç ile eğitimini hala sürdürmektedir. 1. your first dizi & how you discovered Turkish dramas

it’s a little complicated hahahaha i first discovered dizis here on tumblr back on 2015 by seeing gifsets of magnificent century (nurbanu and selim, i miss them so much) but it was not the first dizi i watched bc the only channel i found had awful subtitles and sometimes russian dub; the first dizi i started watching was aşk laftan anlamaz, but around episode twenty-five the channel stopped posting the episodes; the first dizi i really watched through the end was kiralik aşk.

2. show(s) you’re currently watching

i’m not really watching that many dizis right now, i’m on day with maraşlı (bc i make the portuguese subtitles for it), i’m like six episodes behind in sen çal kapimi (and tbh i don’t want to catch up) and i watched the first episode of masumiyet last week.

3. your favorite genre of dizi (romcom, mafia show, contemporary drama, historical/fantasy, etc.):

i was always the rom-com girl type but i recently discovered that i’m more drawn to dramas/mafia shows that i could ever imagine. i’m also very found of historical dizis/movies/books bc that’s a huge part of me (well... after all i’m a history teacher).

4. the show you rewatch (parts of) the most:

i don’t know if it’s considered a dizi or just a netfix show, but i watched aşk 101 like... eight times last year. my yt is always recommending me videos of leyla and hakan in the protector, so i’m counting it. i’m always watching scenes of kiş güneşi too... and güneşin kizlari (lost count of how many times i watched videos of savnaz).

5. favorite Turkish actor and actress (feel free to pick multiples):

all my faves: çağatay ulusoy, ayça ayşin turan, merve boluğur, berk atan, hande erçel, burak deniz, mert yazıcıoğlu, ipek filiz yazıcı, sude zulal güler, emre bey,  neslihan atagül, uraz kaygılaroğlu, alperen duymaz, melisa döngel, esra bilgiç. i’ll stop here but there’s a lot more.

6. a show you quit before finishing:

that dizi i refuse to say the name (y’all know which one, the one that made awful decisions with the best characters they had... and now that these actors jump off the boat the writers are trying to survive by bringing into this mess another great actress just to make that hateful character someone worth watching) (yeah, i hold a lot of grudges) (at least now neslihan and uraz are free) and erkenci kus.

i don’t pay much attention on the soundtrack :( 

8. the show whose plot disappointed you the most:

again, the one i refuse typing the name. i think iyi günde kotü günde disappointed me but bc i was so invested and they didn’t gave us a reason for everything. 

9. a show that was cancelled too soon / ran too long:

again, iyi günde kotü günde. but i think zemheri had such a short life too. and i think that çukur and hercai are running too long. i mean, i don’t even know what’s happening anymore (ok that çukur had this kind of time jump and things revived a little)

azra is young for a founding family member, let alone a leader, but let’s just say she is effective. she knows how to get things done but she tries to be...democratic or at least. seem that way. ultimately she will always do what she thinks is right

i’d like to say her family respects her role but we just can’t say. speaking of which tho....here are some beautiful turkish fcs with resources to use for the rest of the yaman family: alperen duymaz, ayca aysin, can yaman, simay barlas, aras bulut iynemli, demet özdemir, idris nebi taskan, furkan andic, afra saracoglu, berk cankat, aslı enver, ozge gurel, dilan deniz, hande erçel, tuba büyüküstün & merve bolugur!!!

i find it hard to really plan her out without the rest of her family just because i’m Open to ideas and i don’t wanna set a precedent but i definitely see the yaman family as being very...strategic and impartial, when they can manage it? it’s not that azra doesn’t feel strongly about things and she definitely has her own set of morals but. she’s always want to be in the best position to be supported by the other families

even as a human she has always been fascinated by fashion so she’s run the gamut of fashion industry jobs, always careful not to be too much in the public eye. she also has a discerning and critical eye which makes her very good at her current job

she usually handles the international side of things with her job when possible, since she speaks like........20 languages. and of course, she’s quite experienced with negotiations

i would say azra has had a number of serious relationships in her life but none that stuck. and when saying forever to someone...literally means forever, she’s exceptionally careful about who she invests her time in. she’s also a very busy woman, between the magazine and the family business.

because she works with humans, she has a fairly high opinion of them. she has no real qualms with drinking human blood, especially since there’s a number of people who volunteer themselves to be feed bags for high powered vampires, so!!!

for her backstory uh. i’ll have to get back to you because i don’t want to say something DUMB but she was raised under the byzantine empire in the midst of a civil war. constantinople was an extremely precarious place for her entire human life

tô bem confusa amigue. eu vi um puta post de uma rpc coreana dizendo que era apropriação e fetichista usarmos nomes e adaptarmos a cultura pros nossos personagens e que era melhor fazer do jeito que fazemos com personagens brancos ou afroamericanos pra ser menos desrespeitoso. pq no turco é diferente? e falar que TODOS eles são poc não é o msm que falar que a ana de armas por exemplo é poc tbm? acho meio abuso falar que a hande erçel ayça, são poc quando são bem brancas 😟

então nony eu não vi esse post e na verdade to até bem surpresa sobre a existência dele. na verdade, tudo que eu vi ao menos nos casos chinês, indiano e o filipino (e agora to sendo hipócrita e cometendo o erro que eu vou criticar jájá) critica o não saber nomear personagem adequadamente também e critica que, se você não sabe "write with colour", não tente. você lembra se ele falava sobre nomes próprios ou sobrenomes, aliás? porque assim... um cara coreano nascido e crescido em san francisco chamado lee taeyong, sem um (1) nome anglicizado sequer, não faria muito sentido mesmo, porque esse não é o costume coreano de dar nomes na diáspora. só fetichização explica. mark lee faz muito mais sentido, né? enfim, voltando ao caso turco. e frisando que eu não sou turca, logo, quando uma pessoa turca fala algo, eu escuto. e, por mais que eu tenha traduzido os posts da dee, porque ela é uma puta de uma helper, eu vi outres players turques concordando com ela. então vamos lá. vou deixar debaixo do read more porque o balacobaco ficou meio longo.

1 - "por que no caso turco é diferente?" porque turquia não é a coreia. é tipo. simples assim, sério. e, embora sejam dois países asiáticos, têm culturas muuuito distintas. também são percebidos no ocidente de forma distinta, o orientalismo é diferente pra cada caso. acredito que, no caso turco, justamente por essa tal ‘passabilidade branca’, muitos fcs foram simplesmente embranquecidos culturalmente, e o que vejo muite player turque colocando é que o nome é o jeito mais fácil de saber se a pessoa reconhece um fc turco como... turco.

2 - “falar que TODOS eles são poc não é o msm que falar que a ana de armas por exemplo é poc tbm?” nony, não vou nem entrar muito na complexidade que é o processo de racialização, que é um processo diferente em diferentes países. mas raça não é (só) etnia, não é (só) ascendência; acima de tudo, raça não é fenótipo. ter passabilidade branca =/= ser branca. “ai, mas a ayça, a pele clarinha, olhos azuis!” se fosse assim, muita gente da palestina e da síria seria branca, né! olha a gigi hadid... mas nem isso é suficiente pra que sejam tratados como brancos, e acho que as crises de refugiados provam bem isso. o fato é que povos do oriente médio foram racializados, e a turquia se encaixa nisso. em particular quando uma pessoa turca que cresceu na holanda, e que provavelmente sabe melhor que ninguém como a turquia é racializada na europa (porque, não se engane, a europa ocidental nunca viu a turquia como europeia, dane-se istambul), fala que pessoas turcas são poc... ela sabe do que tá falando. e também tem um debate longuíssimo sobre como o islã foi uma religião racializadíssima que vem com uma cara atrelada, e a abundante maioria da turquia, não importa a etnia, é muçulmana, o que impacta muito a percepção da turquia no ocidente.

“ai, mas lai, a melisa döngel é parte russa, a merve boluğur tem ascendência iugoslava...” perfeito! é só escrever a melisa como parte branca, a merve como parte branca, e segue o baile. mas, se você não tem certeza da ascendência de ume fc, simplesmente jogue elu como turque e segue o baile. aliás, essa dica é da /minha/ percepção e eu não tenho lugar de fala pra isso, eu recomendaria jogar ume fc de ascendência balcânica ou russa como ume personagem de ascendência balcânica ou russa, porque o leste europeu também é muito distinta cultural, religiosa e historicamente (até pelas várias imbricações que teve com o império otomano!) e ele acaba ocupando meio que um não-lugar no ocidente.

nony, peço perdão pelo tamanho disso e o textão, mas é que o assunto é complexo. eu não acompanho a rpc gringa, mas sei que tem muita discordância e discrepância entre players do leste asiático também. mas, em suma, no caso específico turco, é isso.
