TREASURE ISLAND Attic Theatre, Stratford upon Avon, 9th August 2024 The greatest adventure story ever written receives the Tread The Boards treatment in this lively and largely faithful adaptation by Catherine Prout. Being the summer family show, expect a lot of silliness and a barrage of jokes, most of them funny, some of them gloriously groanworthy. Lots of the jokes come from a puppet…

list of young actresses of color who deserve to have more recognition and opportunities as actors like Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Kathryn Newton, Millie Bobby Brown etc. It would be refreshing to see more of these talented and underrated actresses of color
*Note, the list consists of actors born within the mid 90s-2000s. This might not be a complete list so whoever sees this is welcome to add more actors that I missed. I might update this post from time to time
This list has gotten so long that I have to make a separate one for male actors of color
Rachel Zegler-(she deserved way better than the hate over snow white)
Lana Condor-(aside from x-men apocalypse and the to all the boys trilogy, she hasn't done much blockbusters compared to Noah, despite her being the lead in the latter films)
Dominique Thorne-(She has her Ironheart and deserves more opportunities, both in the mcu and outside)
Halle Bailey
Maitreyi Ramakrishnan
Lola Tung-(same example with Lana, pretty jarring how her male co-stars are getting work beyond the summer i turned pretty and yet there's nothing from Lola)
Ashley Liao
Megan Suri-(another cast member from Never Have I Ever who also deserves all the opportunites)
Joy Sunday-(Bianca from Wednesday, deserves as much love as Emma Myers)
Iman Vellani-(Ms Marvel/Kamala Khan herself, deserves to have a thriving career and be as big like Tom Holland)
Ayo Edebiri-(2023 was a big year for her, hopefully it continues and she's not overlooked or overshadowed by her white co-stars in The Bear)
Savannah Smith-(Carried the gossip girl reboot, she deserves to have as much recognition as Leighton and Blake did after the original Gossip Girl series)
Madison Reyes-(Julie and the Phantoms deserved better than to be cancelled after one season and with a cliffhanger. Let her star in a musical and or disney film)
Simone Ashley-(One of the main leads in Bridgerton yet Phoebe and Nicola have more upcoming projects than her in Hollywood)
Charithra Chandran
Arsema Thomas
India Amarteifio
Madeleine Madden-(Carried season 2 of The Wheel of Time and if you watched the whole season, you'll understand why)
Moses Ingram-(Did not deserve the hate over the Obi Wan Kenobi series)
Minnie Mills-(She deserved to appear in season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty)
Amrit Kaur
Alyah Chanelle Scott-(it's frustrating that both the main leading ladies of color are overshadowed by Renee Rapp and Pauline, who's related to Timothy)
Letitia Wright-(Pretty jarring how she's been in plenty of mcu projects yet it's easy to count the number of roles she's been in outside the mcu, and has been acting since 2011, longer than Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor Joy and Millie Bobby Brown. Wright has even acted as long as Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams and they've been in more projects than her)
Yasmin Finney-(She's done both Heartstopper and Doctor Who)
Imani Lewis-(First Kill deserved better than being cancelled after one season. Let her do more horror and supernatural themed
Leah Jeffries-(Deserves all the support especially once the Percy Jackson series comes out)
Auli'i Cravahlo
Erin Kellyman-(After the Han Solo film, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Willow, let her appear in more sci-fi and action blockbusters)
Sadly, tumblr has a 30 limit on adding gifs. I definitely missed so many on the list. Anyone is welcome to add more to the list. All of these talented actresses deserve all the love, appreciation and more opportunities and roles
I might do a part 2 which will include male actors

That's the thing about depression: A human being can survive almost anything, as long as she sees the end in sight. But depression is so insidious, and it compounds daily, that it's impossible to ever see the end.

Book Review; Pretty Boys Are Poisonous by Megan Fox
Book Review; Pretty Boys Are Poisonous by Megan Fox #BookTwt #BookReview #Poetry #MeToo #Books
I don’t know what prompted me to pick up Megan Fox’s autobiographical poetry collection that came out earlier this week. The Rupi Kaur comparison I read did not help in the slightest (or did it?), but Megan Fox was a pop culture phenomenon; after all, who amongst us does not remember Jennifer’s Body? The introductory letter penned by Megan was touching, although I was skeptical about the throat…

* INCOMING REQUEST : + 1 new wanted connection has been added — anushka “anu” rai ( freida pinto ) is looking for her YOUNGER SIBLING. find more at the source + under the read more !
attention, buffalos ! our prestigious community member ANUSHKA “ANU” RAI ( yes, the one that looks an awful lot like freida pinto ) is looking for their YOUNGER SIBLING. we’ve heard the wanted one is 25 - 30 years old and looks a lot like megan suri, rish shah, amrit kaur, vihaan samat, sujaya dasgupta, dev patel, or any suitable indian fc. the bulletin indicates you DON’T HAVE to contact the mun at @syncrgistic to fill this search. we’ll be on full alert, the outcome of this quest may be highly beneficial for our sanctuary !
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
anu's the eldest of the rai family and she helped raise her siblings from a young age as both of her parents worked a lot. in my head, anu and her siblings were really close, even when she moved away for college but there probably was some resentment and maybe her sibling ( possibly the youngest one depending on how old your character is ) didn't quite understand why she moved so far away for college and felt rather abandoned. then after the virus outbreak, anu went off the grid and though utp, i imagined that her sibling had to deal with it by themselves, possibly having to watch their parents succumb to the virus and try to survive even though they were basically a child at the time. so when they finally reconnect with anu, there's a lot of complicated feelings because they're bitter but also relieved at the same time. they're still trying to mend their relationship now but it'll never be the same as it was before and anu feels so guilty that they had to go through it all alone.
#wanted connections.#appless rp#active rp#horror rp#oc rpg#GODDDDD I LOVE THIS WE ALL NEED THIS PLS SOMEONE-#god can't wait to have anu's sibling here all those feelings she will have to face and talk and- *shrieks in excitement*

throwing out a bit of a plotting call out here, because i’ve been having a lot of muse & i would love to meet new writing partners to write with on tumblr. i am willing to both use my ocs & create new muses for you privately. something i am really looking for is something long term but slow paced. sometimes it takes me a long time to get to replies, not because i am not interested but because i don’t have as much mental space to write. i’ll be around plenty in tumblr dms & on discord, where we can always chat, headcanon and plot our ships further. as for plots and ships, i am particularly looking for slice of life and mlm and wlw but i am open to a wide variety of plot types & also am open to playing or playing against any gender, with any mix of pairings. beneath the cut i’ll list some basic info from my main ocs and some faceclaims i would like to use & my rules can be found in my pinned post. if you’re interested, simply like this post & i’ll come message you! 🤭💗
♡ ◞ main ocs.
nadiye güzelcan — aslihan malbora, 24 to 28, phd student in astrophysics. max lockhart — lorenzo zurzolo, 19 to 23, college student or professional soccer player. adela “addie” ortega — lizeth selene, 22 to 25, bassist in a feminist punk band. luca calderón — froy gutierrez, 22 to 25, college student. aera sun — im jinah, 28 to 33, pediatric nurse. ** lale sayar — ozge yagiz, 23 to 27, college student & aspiring romance author. ** devrim yildiz — emre bey, 23 to 27, twitch streamer. leonora “leo” langford — maia cotton, 20 to 25, college student or classical musician. ** kiran desai — dev patel, 30 to 35, high school history teacher. emre kilic — serkan cayoglu, 35 to 38, pr manager. teresa hazen — dakota johnson, 30 to 35, mechanical engineer. **
** indicates there’s alternative faceclaims for this muse, you can ask for them. in general i’ll often be very down for adding new faceclaims for my muses, but these already have options. sometimes that includes older verses as well !
♡ ◞ fcs i want to play.

Been meaning to talk about this for a few days, but holy fuck, what a week for women's sport.
(Before we get started: INR 1 lakh is about £1,000. INR 1 crore is about £100,000)
The Board of Control for Cricket in India have finally got behind the growth in women's cricket and are launching the inaugural Women's Indian Premier League this year and the player's auction was held last Monday.
The 5 franchises were each given a salary cap of about £1.6m to build a squad of 15-18 players by buidding for their services. So £8m to be spread among around 90 players.
Reserve prices began at 10 lakh rupees and were capped at 50 and while some players didn't generate much interest (for example, Royal Challengers Bangalore got a big bargain by securing the Australian bowler, Megan Schutt at her reserve price of 40 lakh, and Alyssa Healy only went for 70 lakh) a few made bank.
Mandhana cost RCB 28% of their cap. No other player in either the men's or women's IPL takes up as much of their team's cap as her. It's also nearly 7 times the value of her central contract with the BCCI to play for India and vastly more than the £30k she gets playing in the gimmicky Hundred tournament in England.
It's a fresh tournament and the teams need stars to act as faces of the franchise. And so, in places they've mirrored the men's game. Mandhana, India's best batter and who wears 18, joined RCB, whose men's team have Virat Kohli, who also wears 18. (They also signed Ellyse Perry for 1.7 crore and the destructive Richa Ghosh for 1.9 crore). Harmanpreet Kaur, India's captain, got 1.8 crore from Mumbai, whose men's team feature Rohit Sharma, who is also India's captain.
These prices are for a tournament that begins on March 4 and ends on March 26. Three weeks. 8 to 10 games. Pro-rata, the top women are getting paid like footballers (and even those whose salaries are counted in lakh are getting healthy paydays).
This tournament will be successful. The BCCI wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't going to be. And it will grow. Lots of talented foreign players fell victim to squad building restrictions and went unsold. The league will expand. Maybe to 6 teams, before eventually ending up with 8.
All that's holding it back is how quickly talented Indian players are identified and their skills develop. The cash the BCCI generate from this will supercharge that search. The top players already have access to top coaches and training facilities, but for some, the 10 or 20 lakh they get from this tournament will help them build a future and lifestyle as professional cricketers and generate opportunities for others, which in turn will allow the BCCI to expand the tournament.
Within 10 years, I'd be surprised if the WIPL isn't the biggest women's sports league on the planet.
